We visited here on the last day of our holiday. We were greeted at the door with a warm smile and made to feel very welcome. The cafe was buzzing, great atmosphere and it was spotlessly clean. Shown to a table, menus handed out, sorted. Great choice. One large breakfast, roll n square slice and a roll n bacon and tattie scone. Two lattes. Wasn't long to wait, coffee arrived then our breakfasts (the cook might remember us, breakfast was served before she'd put the tomatoes on the plate, such an efficient service 😀). Everything was cooked to perfection, just the way we like it. 2 empty plates and 2 full tummies. As I said there is a lovely atmosphere here. Everyone was greeted with a smile and a friendly voice. The lady doing the waitress was quick and efficient. We are back on holiday in June 2022 and we won't just be having breakfast on our last day. I need to try their macaroni cheese. The scones are huge and I'm sure they be delicious and then there's the tray bakes... you don't diet when on holiday lol. X

Where do I start? Great service at first. ordered a platter, asked for half meat and half vegetarian as my partner is vegetarian, told them what I don't like etc. No issues. Then I received the platter. No detail of what the fillings were at all. I messaged to ask what eat filling ones, to which all I get told is "half meat, half vegi". It was like pulling teeth for them to not even fully disclose every filling. I then tried to ask which side was veggie as one side looked like meat and the other had tuna. To which I was told "Tuna is vegetarian??" and "it's pretty straight forward. One side vegi, one side meat". Not only was that extremely rude, but TUNA ISN'T VEGETARIAN!!! Not even an apology for this error. Absolutely shocking and extremely angry and upset. I tried to message them this morning to prove that Tuna isn't vegetarian and to explain how horrendous it is that they haven't even apologised, and they had BLOCKED ME ON FACEBOOK MESSENGER!

We popped in yesterday for a couple of take away rolls and they were lovely and had plenty on them. We will definitely be back for a full cooked or some lunch in the near future.

After a lovely walk from Musselburgh to Prestonpans, decided to stop off at Sweet Boutique for much needed refreshment. Received warm welcome from friendly staff followed by the most enjoyable cream tea with delicious homemade scones. Would recommend a visit & will definitely be back.

We stopped here after a visit to Samuel Burns' Yard along the road and were delighted with the quality and value of this wee place. Food was delicious and plentiful, coffee piping hot and cakes were a treat. We'll definitely be back when we're next in the area. Friendly staff and lovely decor as well! Thanks :)

I've tried many fish and chips including some of the best in the UK and i can safely say East Coast is not one of them. First off £18.50 is on the expensive side for fish and chips. The haddock wasn't very fresh (6 out of 10) and the batter is crispy but super oily and absorbs all the oil. The chips were not bad but i'd say there wasn't enough to justify the price. On the plus side, the atmosphere and the service was good. The fishmarket, Berties, and Landy's are all far better in terms of freshness of the fish and the batter they use for their fish. Portion size, quality and also pricing is also more reasonable too.

This is one of those wee shops in a wee place that is just phenomenal!! I drive from Edinburgh to this shop because is it second to none!! Always stocked, delicious cakes aswell. I don’t often leave reviews because I’m really hard to please when it comes to service lol, the filling station deserve every word they are fantastic!! The ladies that work there are always banter too which makes it always a pleasure to go in.

I hadn’t been here for over a year and we returned for a family birthday as it’s fairly local for my parents. The menu had changed a bit since we were last here but some of the old favourites were still there. We had a range of food and most were pretty good - the Nachos went down well and the Haggis Cigar was brilliant as usual with a very good sauce. Most of the meals were good. The steak burger however was poor - overcooked and dry - the worst of the 5 meals we had and a disappointment as the others were good. It wqs a birthday for my elderly mum and we had brought a cake and we appreciate that they brought plates for the cake.

On Saturday we had a fantastic relaxing evening with the family at the restaurant in Dunmuir hotel. So far I believe is the best place for food in town While waiting for our food we got a dominoes set from the shelves( which is decorated with lots of interesting stuff, from old books to some unique pieces from local artists) We played and spent some quality time all together My meal was a delicious Cod and mussels curry served with fragrant rice, my husband got a Venison Burger ( that evening special) that was insanely good. My son had fish and chips from the kids menu, that honestly looks like a normal adult portion, freshly made with a choice of wedges chips ( sorry not picture- he messed the dish straight away 😛) The top ten was our Haggis Bits served with a spicy sauce ( I don’t normally have Haggis isn’t my favourite thing) but this time I give the chance to try and they were so good. Definitely a must if you come in Dunbar For dessert we shared a selection of cheeses to finish the lovely wine and carrying on playing with dominoes The staff was very friendly and helpful, always ready to anticipate our needs taking our jackets away and asking for any assistance This Hotel and restaurant is dog friendly 😍

Introduced my brother in law and his wife who were visiting from Essex, to the Black Agnes. Both were blown away with the quality of the food, and the price, so much to say he would happily come back to Scotland for the Black Agnes food.
