A fantastic local, reasonable prices and lovely atmosphere, if the fire is on during the winter months it's super a cozy pub. There is a darts board and pool on tap. Worth a visit if you happen to be in the area, especially if you enjoy good Guinness.

Good atmosphere for a good evening

We ended up here by chance after the NFL game at Wembley Stadium and it turned out to be a great evening. We were greeted openly and warmly by employees as well as other regular guests and had many nice and funny conversations (which was certainly also due to the NFL game and the jerseys we were wearing). Two cocktails are available for £9. The pub itself doesn't offer food, but you can get something to eat from one of the restaurants in the area and then eat it in the pub - great! We had two entertaining and funny hours here and already know that we will end up here again after the next NFL game. Greetings from us to all the regular guests and employees we had the pleasure of getting to know - hope to cu again!

Taken by surprise at such a clean and good looking pub in Sudbury, had an exceptionally smooth pint of Guinness. Welcoming Staff and landlords … highly recommend this place!

Popped here for a few drinks before our match at Wembley.... Really friendly service, great value drinks for somewhere so close to Wembley! And a huge beer garden! Will definitely be back if we ever get down there again!!

Excellent back garden area which is dog friendly. As I'm a cider drinker I felt the range was a little limited but far from terrible.

I live nearby and have visited occasionally since 2018. I hate to criticise a local business but felt the need to let others know about the rudeness and bullying we experienced from the female owner. My mate and I ordered a pizza across the road, and popped in for a pint since there was a 15-20 minute wait time. The bartender overheard us planning to leave to get the pizza. He kindly told us we could eat it there. I ordered another round in appreciation and chilled while my mate picked up the pizza. We sat at a table and started tucking in. All of a sudden, we were confronted by the female owner who raised her voice at us, demanding we eat the pizza outside. We told her the bartender gave us permission to eat in the pub. This individual had the nerve to tell us our food "smelled", put her hand on the box and threatened to chuck our pizza in the bin. All in an aggressive manner in front of the rest of the pub. She told us she's the owner and she decides not the bartender. Her husband? was backing her, and also was aggressive with us. She completely overreacted, and was possibly drinking prior to confronting us. My mate and I are both Asian, and the part about the food smelling struck him as possibly prejudiced. He was furious and said he would have punched the fella had I not been there. Like I said, I have been coming here to watch footie or get a pint since it's a local. Don't think I will return unless we get an apology, and contemplating reporting the owners to licencing or Council. Patrons should not be confronted and abused for no valid reason. No signage or advised by staff that we must eat outside. She had the choice to speak with us politely and amicably resolve the situation but chose to be confrontational and rude.

Fantastic atmosphere, beautiful garden and mighty fine service. Recommend for students, casual drinks or bookings, splendid establishment for any occasion. Absolutely marvellous

Went there for the first time yesterday and was not disappointed a very nice local. The staff were very friendly and attentive. I will definitely be going back soon.

I've been using this public house for many year's more than I would like to mention and never had a bad experience

We booked the garden in advance but on the day of the event they canceled for no reason leaving all my guests on the street. I tried to reach the person in charge over the phone and she was incredibly rude and hung up on me. I don't recommend it to anyone. Edit. I went to pub the day before to confirm the reservation, Bob confirmed it by phone and asked for a minimum of £400 for consumption. The lady said if it rains I couldn't do it, the next day when I showed up at the pub she was very bad with me and said she wouldn't allow it due to lack of staff. Different from what she said, the day was great because we held the event elsewhere and had no problems. and in an attempt to try to understand what happened she was very rude and hung up the phone on me

This place is wonderful, and they have a large private garden. They do not have food, just bar snacks, but price wise , service and the atmosphere is lovely .

I visited with a friend on Thursday 23rd February 2023 and we had an excellent time. We were there for 4 hours for a drink and a catch up. This pub is a proper local that is very good value for money. We were looked after very very well by a great member of staff called Violet. I would certainly recommend this pub, especially if she is on duty.

Friendly pub with lots of good seating and plenty of very large screens if you’re wanting to keep up on the sport. It’s a shame it was cash only on our visit, else we’d have been able to stay for a lot longer although there is a cash machine next door if you need. Great location surrounded by food outlets, prices were reasonable for drinks and certainly somewhere I’d happily return to.

Great pub. Perfect for a local. The staff were friendly, and customer service was magnificent. The pub is excellently managed. They have an awesome beer garden, pool table, dart board, and live sport. What more could you ask for? Would definitely recommend.

Nice atmosphere, brilliant staff The pizzas were incredible put Dominoes to shame and a great price at a fiver!!!!. We ordered 3 at our table,waited a while but it was worth it as they were filling.Had to end up taking one home as we couldn't finish it. Would come back again ☺️

Dive bar smell a bit like old man but drinks are cheap tv is big bar is friendly and can take your own food in as long as you clean up after. So great for a local.

Love this pub in Sudbury. Been here quite a few times when I visit this part of town. Draft beers are good but you can't beat the Guinness served here. Bar staff always welcoming and brilliant to watch sports.

Proper old fashioned pub..... altogether now "sometimes you wanna go, where everybody knows your name" If you want an open fire, a dartboard, a pool table, a juke box, a terraces area with garden and all live sport and live music on weekends - this is the place. Very affordable drinks, great Guinness. It does have blokes-at-the-bar which you can take or leave as you wish.
