“I always noticed Sugar and Spice when I was in Queensbury. A few years ago, someone told me that the food here was good. I enjoyed trying out different dishes, each with its unique flavour. The chicken wings were moist, and the spicy corn was flavorful. Even though we had fewer dishes, the portion sizes were generous. The staff is fantastic and very helpful. This restaurant has been around for a while, and it's no surprise that they still have many customers dining. I'll go back there, and if you're in the area, I suggest you give it a try. One small suggestion I have is to offer half portions for customers who want to try more than one dish. Overall, it's a great place to dine in, and I was pleasantly surprised by the dining experience." I hope the revised text is clearer and meets your expectations.

This is a place to go if you want good food and don't need to be in the nicest place. Compared to the Regency, it lacks polish and design but it's more than made up for by the food. Everything we had was delicious and we'll definitely be back. It's a relaxed atmosphere which is good for a dinner out with friends or family.

Fantastic food great service & brilliant atmosphere 👌

This is 100% in my top 5 local to me. Our children also love it here and we have been dining here for years. The staff in here are on another level. Always preparing fresh dishes, served quick and hot. Waiters are super friendly and attentative. Most dishes are close to £10 but the portions are quite large and worth every penny. Our favourites are crispy spicy chilli corn, and crispy chilli garlic mushrooms. 😋 Paneer tikka masala with naan also very nice. Can be a bit loud if there is a football match showing on the screens. But we don't really mind that, when you get this quality food and service. Well done 👏 sugar and spice team 👏

Chilli paneer very good. Our go to for paneer in future. Other sags were decent nothing special. Naan very fresh very filling. Prices reasonable

Had a very disappointing takeaway from here. We ordered chicken tikka rolls which were so sub standard I’m surprised they were sent out. First chicken was burnt, it was underseasoned and served with a gross sauce with limp lettuce leaves so we ended up with a soggy mess. I’ve never tasted such rubbish food, Nandos or even Macdonalds would have been better. The 2 rolls were £29 pounds. It was so disgusting and , slimy due to the strange sauce which leaked all over the roll. There was no way I could risk eating this, I gave up and threw it away. The chill paneer was just ok nothing spectacular. The Peshawari Nan was nice but the food here left so much to be desired. The strange thing is it’s packed beautifully so we had high expectations with this being our first order but for such poor quality control we won’t be back.

Went to watch the game, restaurant was full and the atmosphere was lively. Service was ok and food was good. Overall it's a great place to visit especially if you want to watch live sports.

I would say this place is under rated. Really great Indian food (particularly vegetarian) available at more reasonable price than the neighbours. Ambience is basic.

Came here on the off chance yesterday evening with my husband and two daughters. The food was really nice all veg ordered Hakka noodles, Mogo, Biriani, palak paneer and crispy bhajia. All mild as we didn't want to risk hot and the food was all tasty 😋. The very young waitress was lovely and background music nice. Toilets clean. So glad my 2 girls decided on choosing this place. Will be returning with my eldest daughter as she wasn't around. Compliments to the chef thoroughly enjoyed the evening.

Food is good and service is very quick. Beers are cold and a nice atmosphere. Very close to queensbury station so handy for a meal or just a quick drink at the bar.

This eaterie is more a sports bar than restaurant : screens everywhere. As in other reviews the music was so loud you could not speak to the person sitting next to you. the goanese waiter and manager were excellent. Apparently midweek only one chef. the wait for our meal was ridiculous. Indeed the manger came several times to apolgise and gave free poppadums. The people on the next table also comnplained heavily. As there were only a few clients in, this made matters worse. When the food came, the portions were generous, and the food, lamb biryani, prawns and chops were all declared very tasty, spicy, maybe slightly too cilli hot. the bill for 3 was £ 78, but a lot of food was ordered, maybe slightly too much. Parking not a problem.

First visit here and was pleasantly pleased at the ambience, food selection and price. Probably the best mixed grill i've eaten and the staff, namely Lawrence was very attentive and helpful. Highly reccommended.

Incredible food and great service. One of my favourite spots for value and quality I wrote the above review over 2 years ago. I still visit this place sometimes once a week, the food is consistently excellent. I have not tasted better tandoori lamb chops anywhere, and believe me I have tried, I can safely say i have tried the whole menu and never been disappointed.

Service was great! Hygienic enough- Clean table and plates/cutlery etc. However the space inside was quite small and seating area was very packed and crowded especially if you have a big family- table was packed with food/plates/drinks so not really enough space to eat peacefully. Some dishes were bland/bittery(food&sauces) & some not- for both Veg/Non-veg. Drinks were amazing :) Some entertainment on tv screens which was great to see and fishes for little kids, however the background songs was too loud. Overall 3.5 out of 5 :))

Went here for my Christmas Party with a few work collegues and I was pleasently suprised at how big the portions where for the starters. Starters where very tastey and they all had that chili and sweet flavour but had subtle differences between them. Garlic Mushrooms where very good Crunchy and soft Chilli Paneer was excellent Crispy Chili Corn was one of the highlights Bujia where very good Mains where also of good standards chicken and lamb dishes where reasonable in portion sizes and I can say their nan was thin and soft! Beers from the tap where all very super chilled and cocktails weren't bad either. Prices in this place where good also. I am deffo going back esp if there is football on! The staff where attentataive and polite.

An amazing place. Wonderful food. The Chicken 65 and the Fried fish were yummy. Very good portions. The ambience is very good. A special call out for Kiran. He took good care of us. He keeps checking in and ensuring that we are okay with the food and service. My new go to place for a drink and food.

The food was ok, but the manchurian was testless and wasted 3 of it as had a big amount of people.

What an absolutely amazing restaurant. The design is lovely and single and all the members of staff are just wonderful. The food can't be rated, it was just too good. I had gone to dine in with a friend and ordered the Lamb Madras, Chilli Garlic Mushrooms (My favourite), Mixed Grill, Chilli Garlic Naan and Mango Lassi.

The food is amazing, TV's everywhere to accommodate sports events. Service was a bit slow but all in all a good place

Sugar and Spice has a lovely selection of Starter dishes and they are nicely portioned, great for a group of people to sit and enjoy their food. The mains are good but nothing more. Pints and cocktails are excellent and I will be coming back to enjoy some more of your food!

Visited this restaurant/lounge yesterday with the family having read the glowing reviews. Walked into what I can only say the noisiest eatery- music blaring away, loud clientele, not my idea of a pleasant eating establishment. Attentive staff took the drinks order, every drink arrived separately. Ordered the starter with 2 different waiters - everything arrived separately. Not particularly tasty. Ordered the mains - once again, arrived separately. The meat dishes had the smallest pieces of boneless chicken I have ever seen (jeera chicken). The lamb was no different and contained gristle. Visited the gents toilet - walked out, urine on the floor in both cubicles. Staff need to visit and clean more regularly (accept clientele are responsible). Did I really go to the same Sugar and Spice as the the other reviewers? I shan’t be going again.

Came here with friends for a meal and a catch up and it never fails to deliver. We ordered veg starters which was off-the-chain for tastiness and portion size. For mains I got Hakka veg noodles which was slightly on the oily side for my liking but still liked the mix of veg especially those beautiful little spring onions. The service was first class and attentive.

Great delicious Indian food. Spice levels were just right, not too excessive. We had a party of 8 hungry diners and they all loved the food. Some even travelled from East London as they do not get the same flavours over there! Service was smooth and efficient and prices are very reasonable. Thank you. Ordered a delivery via Ubereats. Having never ordered from this restaurant before nor knowing anyone who has visited this restaurant, I was a reluctant ordering from them. However my concerns were quickly set aside when I received my delivery. All 3 dishes that I ordered were superb and bang on, a taste sensation. I ordered Chow Mein noodles, chilli paneer and saag paneer. The Chow Mein portion was a very decent size, enough for 2 people to eat as a main. The chilli paneer was very tasty and had enough heat from the fresh green chillies. The saag paneer is one of the best I've had in a long time. This restaurant deserves success. Even before ordering we called the restaurant to differentiate the various vegetarian noodles, the staff happily spent time on the phone with us. I would say this is one of the best vegetarian restaurants around Kenton.

Nice friendly staff and great food.Starters and main arrived not steaming hot.Prices slightly on the high as no table cloth cutlery and plates plonked on table.Chutneys and no onions on table when papodums ordered.Tables were clean and drinks arrived in bottles not even a glass with it had to ask for it with with the prices charged they should provide or reduce the price.Hence 3 stars.May be visit again try their other items on the menu.

Tasty chicken biryanis with generous portions sizes. Would give 5 stars but little bit pricey and delivery order always takes a very long time compared to local competitors.

I've only taken food away from here twice. On the first occasion is was great. Second time, I opened the container of biryani which was topped with some cucumbers had a hair on it. Then I found this metal piece in my food, it looks like a small piece from a metal dish scourer. I was utterly disgusted and felt sick. Really disappointed because the food tastes very good.

Yesterday I was going with my friends and I booked my table on phone but when I reached there there is no table on my name and one of their staff members talked with me and he told me that you can come on 8:00 PM but after that no sitting available there for us. And we will sitting at back side where there is cold and we eating with our jackets and on the half of our meal the rain was starting and water pouring on the sitting. Very poor customer communication. But at the end I just say that food was delicious.

went first time took orders for drinks it took very long time too come food was okay, Bill came charged me for the drinks double which i didn't order they may have over charged me for food not so sure i don't think i will go there again.

My friend was raving about this place. Apparently there is a group on social media rating various eateries. This was one place to check out based on the group. I don't use social media so was curious. We dined during a Saturday evening. No booking but was seated out back , which looks like a big extension which is impressive in many ways. All built around a large oak-tree. Impressive. Front of house was extremely polite and welcoming. The member of staff was super polite and helpful with our menu selections and orders for beverages. Adding help and assistance along the way. I opted for a mocktail which was delicious and my dining guest had a milkshake which looked very nice. We chose starters which including chicken tikka and masala chips. Both were full of flavour and spice. In hindsight we should have shared our mains and naan to follow as the portion sizes for the mains were huge! My main was good. Full of chicken to the brim! I can't remember was my friend had but this looked and smelt amazing. My garlic naan was nice. This is my go to along with chicken tikka masala. We even took sight of chef with a yellow hat, looked the part. All things considered with price, service and quality you need to check this place out. Very recommended. Even the host looks like a magician in his red coat, a class act.

Food was good, service was good. All staff chatty and make recommendations when asked and most importantly never felt rushed.

Just had a takeaway order from here after many people on a food group I'm a member of recommended. My oh my the special lamp chop curry was out of this world and the chilli garlic nan was fresh, soft and tasty. Will definitely be going here again soon, but this time dine in and try many of the other tasty sounding dishes on the menu. Ps. Props the member of staff, could even have been the owner who came running out after me as they forgot to put my naan in the bag. Super food. Oh and my wife loved her Paneer tikka masala also, said it was one of the best she ever had.

Had the mix grill here. Taste Wasn't bad but the Kebabs and Chops were a bit bland. Chutney is a bit too sweet. Passion Juice bottle was nice quirky..

Fantastic food and great service. I am not a particular fan of indian food and I don't lile spicy but my partner does. We both left super satisfied. Very tasty food and looking amazing. Recommend and will come back!

I was initially recommended the regency by a family member however when I got there I need to book a table even though it was a Tuesday it was very busy. So as I was walking back down the road I saw this place and thought I would try as by this time I was hungry. Let’s put it this way I was not disappointed. There wings were awesome and I really enjoyed my food. The atmosphere was great, staff really friendly went out of their way to make sure I was comfortable as I was on my own. Service was quick and friendly. I would highly recommend this joint being from the North I can honestly say this was some of the best Indian food I have eaten down south. I will defo be returning next time I am working in the area.

Honestly, Great food is what I wanted to say but unfortunately I didn't even get to eat starters because they overbooked, moved me and my family 3 times, expecting 6 people to fit on one table is a joke, waiter also started laughing at us, disrespectful, I didn't give it one star because the owner apologised and seemed sincer but never again will I come here.
