Excellent Indian food experience

Always the 1st place we think of for proper Indian delicacies. (Albeit with east african influence). Been going here since the early 90's and they keep getting better and better. Well done!!

Tasty food served in cramped surroundings. Food orders can get mixed up & if ordered egg bhurji , make sure that there are no egg shells left inside the preparation by kitchen staff! Parking can be a problem.

Over rated restaurant, Travel 1.5 hours to try food with 5 other friends and all felt rough after eating food. Entirely waste of money and time. Staff was nice though

Food always on point, one of the best Indian restaurants around! Service was slightly slower than usual, however the food more than makes up for it. Cutlets and karahi chicken are my faves.

Great food and service. Regency doesn't disappoint. Was a little noisy and had to raise our voices to hear each other but all in all had a very nice evening.

Ordered a leg of lamb for Christmas day, normally the standard of food is very good but on this occasion very disappointed. It was meant to be medium spice but at best very mild and the cooking instructions quite poor. Real shame as expectations were high but did not deliver....

We went there for a end of year celebrations and we weren't disappointed. Great place to have a get together with colleagues and friends. Food: first class. Lots of choices for both meat and vegetarian alike. You’ll be spolit as my colleagues and friends told me and they're in the know as most of them are from India subcontinent and from Africa. Service: Top, top drawer. Especially mentioning Ash, who's the waiter for our table. He's superb. He also recommended some good dishes for our table too. Atmosphere: Fantastic, especially we were there just before Christmas. It's buzzing!

Really disappointed with the size of the whole chicken. It seems to be literally half the size of a chicken and cost £45. I understand it also includes kheema gravy but for that price, you would expect a larger chicken. This can barely feed two people. Don’t get me wrong, I love regency and have been going there for years but I am really disappointed at what I’ve picked up….its really small!!!! I felt I had to leave a review but this is not relating to their food as it’s great. I only have a gripe towards the whole chicken. Please maybe change your description. Happy to share a photo once I’ve opened it and cooked it.

We’ve been customers for quite a number of years, the quality control is truly outstanding! You can order 10 portions of the same item and they all taste the same. We always have a 5 star service from all staff! Tried the lamb burger for the first time, WOW oh WOW is all i can say. So fresh, full of flavour and cooked perfectly! Always recommend “The Regency Club” to my friends and family

Been going here for over 15 years, and I would recommend. There are live sports on multiple screens. Would recommend the garlic mogo as no other place makes it like Regency. Regularly also get their lunch box for takeaway as it is a great value meal, I really enjoy the tawa chicken box.

Regency Grill. Chilli Mojo. Chilli Paneer,. Passion fruit. Service outstanding. I would happily recommend this joint for a mix of starters. Nice place to watch the sport. Cocktails are OK.

We visited on Saturday as a group of friends. We felt the waiting staff were not very helpful. They gave us a slot for our table but the service was not that quick so we didn’t have enough time for dessert despite at 2.5 hr slot. We said the service was slow but they didn’t seem bothered. It felt like just getting as many people in, serve them, and then move them on so the next booking can be seated but without helping them really enjoy the experience. The food was good but not as good as it once was. I think I’ll give this place a kiss in the future, we travelled from quite far and expected better.

Portions are big, nice choose, however u are kicked out after 2 hrs.

Chilli paneer was too ketchupy last time but today was great. Chilli mogo and crispy bhindi was nice, good attentive service and accommodating for nephew's birthday

After seeing this place pop up all over social media, and the lore behind the Lamb Cutlets - we knew we had to make the journey. As soon as we got there, the place was bouncing and we were a bit taken back at the atmosphere - but it was great. The food was sensational, we started with the Regency Platter, and every element was delicious. The chicken wings, chicken tikka and lamb tikka were top draw, with just enough kick. The chutneys on the table were spot on too, and complimented everything so well. The lamb cutlets however were the standout, so soft, juicy and just enough char on the edges - worth the trip from south east alone! The mains were just as good, but after we indulged so much in the starters we were a bit overwhelmed with how much we had ordered! The lamb, and two chicken dishes again were delicious. The tandoori roti and naans were also nice and fluffy and piping hot. All I can say is, the trek to The Regency Club was well worth it and will definitely be visiting again!

Avoid if vegetarian or vegan. I am so shocked and disappointed. I ordered via uber. I Ordered Vegan Chilli Chicken. I have had this dish a very many times. As I took my umpteenth bite, I instantly thought I felt a different in consistency. I had just bitten into a piece of chicken! My wife confirmed this. It was the only chicken piece. How on Earth does this happen? I will tell you, the sauce for "vegan" chilli chicken is reused, ingredients mixed, and vice versa with chicken. I don't know or care. Complacency. This place now officially is on the "avoid" list. Too big for their boots. Haven't sat and ate there for ages. This takeaway was 1st in over one year. It is almost as if a sign from above. No, I did not complain, as what would happen? Change in practices? No. Refund? Yes, but I don't care about that. I care about the chefs sorting their behaviour out and thoroughly avoiding such mistakes from ever happening. Fair warning to vegetarians or vegans. UPDATE in response to below, my delivery order was a little under a month ago. Last time I tried to call I was hung up on...

Uber eats delivery. Excellent tasting food. The chef followed all our instructions. Delivering in £1 warm bag. Food was warm. Distance was far and it’s cold. Highly recommend lamb biryani and lamb chops.

The Regency was a great Friday night out for our big group of 9. Atmosphere was lively, service v good and food amazing. Lamb cutlets and mixed platter was delicious. The garlic chilli mogo was excellent. Very good drinks selection. Had a great night

A good friend took us to this wonderful Indian restaurant/ bar yesterday. The food was amazing very friendly staff, great atmosphere and difficult to get a table so book in advance. One of the best Indian meal I have ever experienced to date. Well worth a visit and the underground will take you there. They are on the jubilee line. So easy access.

We visited regency club on Sunday as a family of 9! Food was excellent out of about 15 dishes the only one we wouldnt recommend is the crispy bhajia. Mogo was the best in the area. They have a really good vegan menu too (only complaint is its online only). Cocktails were really good and came out quickly.

We came to this institution on a Friday night and it was busy! Between the six of us, we shared garlic mogo (good), crispy bhajia (ok), jalapenos (ok), regency kebab (a bit dry), mushkaki (juicy and nice), crispy fried wings (very good), normal wings (good), chilli garlic prawns (full of flavour and probably my favourite), mari chicken (good), garlic butter chicken (so good), paneer makhani (great flavour) with garlic naan and pilau rice. The service was polite and efficient.

Really really really very bad restaurant,They don’t not How to respect people, even I will see the hotel star was very bad behaviour with delivery drivers, so we don’t like Hotal S atmosphere and we don’t like hotel management, so please never visit this hotel

A fabulous evening all round, great food and fantastic service!

What a great place. This was our third visit and each time we have all been delighted. It is old-fashioned in the best way - excellent service, good beer and lovely food. I think my choice of the Prawns with Chilli and Garlic was unbeatable - full of flavour with just the right amoung of chilli heat for me

The food is delicious and good portions. The staff are so friendly and attentive. One of rare places where the staff pack your uneaten takeaway for you instead of giving you empty cartons to fill yourself. That's what I call service. When you pay a service charge which I absolutely do not begrudge, you expect these little things.

Fantastic food. It was so tasty and worth it. The service was incredible too. Waiters were attentive and responsive. We didn’t have to wait for the food long and they packed the food also for us once we finished, which was great. Overall, 10/10.

I have not been to Regency for a few years, but the food is still excellent. Proper Desi taste. All the dishes we ordered were nice and spicy just as we like it. Couldn't falt the service either. Thanks to Ash for the great service. We will be back soon.

Our dear friend from London myself and friends from Leicester and America came here for lunch yesterday and we throughly enjoyed our platter we ordered. .we wanted to try a curry dish but we were all so full Highly recommend this place. After many years of having a niggling feeling that this place wasnt good, my family booked a table here for us tonight. After our mains we saw a MOUSE running through the toilets and into the main restaurant. The manager/owner barley offered or acknowledged this disgusting issue. We walked out the door and will never be coming back!

It was good food but just was feeling it

Never fails to disappoint. Was my local when living in London and still I travel from Manchester just to munch and catch up with family and mates here.

This was a favorite back in the 90's. Top quality food and very tasty. Now it's become one hell of a hole to dine in where quality is the poorest I've ever encountered. Clearly the best chefs have left and what you get is sub-standard and wishy-washy. Naan bread is nice but that's all I can say. Bar as always good for a drink. Go back to the 90's please when food was out of this world and bring back Crab claws ;-)

One of my favourite dishes is the baigan bharta and so happy to see it as a regular item on menu. Yesterday, it was particularly tasty. I just wish that flavour consistency is there all the time too. Not a complaint but a request.

Simply put, this is the best of its type around (sorry all you others, you just don't compare). Kenyan-Indian fusion with vibrant flavours, and best of all consistent - every time you order a dish it is the same exquisite quality as the last time. I often judge restaurants by the quality of particular staples, here it's the Naans - perfect for my taste, not doughy, nor stodgy, instead light, almost fluffy (but not exactly fluffy, which would be wrong), crispy edges, soft middle, buttery. Been eating here for over 20 years, and for my money and taste Regency Club is better than any similar restaurant outside Leicester, and notably better than Veeraswami or Red Fort or Cinnamon. Treat yourself, eat their food...

Great experience authentic Kenyan taste Enjoyed the ambience

You can see from my history, I don't usually leave negative reviews but I feel a sense of responsibility to share my concerns. I ordered the Bhindi masala from the "Vegan Menu," stating all my dietary requirements at the beginning of the evening. When I tried the dish it was suspiciously creamy so I asked the waiter to confirm there was no cream and he reassured me there is no dairy. My gut could sense something was off so I asked the waiter to verify this with the chef and he returned and explained it does in fact have cream in it! When we complained about this being non-vegan but on the vegan menu there was no formal apology. Furthermore they tried to blame me as I had asked for no onion/garlic so they had no choice but to add cream instead?! I was extremely upset so my fiancé and dad tried to reason with the waiter and Pankaj on my behalf to no avail. They offered to take £1 off the menu to keep us quiet. On personally expressing how offensive Pankaj's management of this situation was he begrudgingly removed the dish from the bill. I hope your team learn from this incident in the future instead of shrugging it off. Veganism stands for compassion, sadly we were shown no compassion or remorse.

Came here the other day with two friends with high expectations. I’ve been here before and had a good experience. We ordered the regency platter and replaced the chops with cutlets (£52). We also ordered the fried bhindi and a few soft drinks. The service was good, and food came within 10/15 minutes of ordering. What you see in the photos is what you get for £60 + service charge. Very small portions so you expect the food to taste amazing. Quite the opposite, all the meats had no taste, and we even left some balance at the end. Bhindi was average. Regency is overhyped and overpriced. Our table was also very close to the next, I’m sure they could hear our whole conversation. Please improve your food standards. We decided to go elsewhere for mains.

We celebrated birthday, their food was so delicious. Only one thing they need to improve is zeera rice. Please use long rice to make more delicious. Apart from that everything was 10/10.

Without a doubt they have the best Indian grilled meat around....the lamb cutlets are to die for and the Tikka is perfection. The curries are good....but it's all about the mixed grill!

Was welcomed by Pankaj at the main doors, came with my family, sat down ordered starters & as mains came we were notified to “hurry up” & finish our food, to which I replied to him respectfully “please let me & my family eat without disturbing us every 5-10 mins” he was annoyed. Food can be hit & miss, sometimes it’s ok, sometimes it’s very good, I personally know the main head chef, so that is that at the end of the day, I understand times can be busy, etc but if you want to turn tables quickly, then accommodate to everybody, with all the space in the restaurant that they have. 2nd time of going, again with my family ordered 2 chilli paneers, 1 of them so chilli and fiery hot, sent me to the toilets & the other was lovely, medium/mild & tasty, but it was a bizarre feeling, thankfully the waiter understood the memo, as we told him & this was removed from the bill. This place has huge potential, great atmosphere & vibes but considering the recent price hike & adding ketchup/soya sauce to dishes, doesn’t add value to the overall dish, cutting corners, increasing prices, blaming inflation & on top of that having a grumpy old man with 0 customer service skills, let alone training, just adds an extra bit of spice to the overall experience I’ve encountered going to Regency numerous times. Food standards have dropped massively over the years, it’s upsetting to see & prices have rocketed, which is also upsetting to see as quality doesn’t match with what’s given. Overall 6/10

Love love love the food at Regency. Both eating in and if you get a take out delivery (not takeaway but the delivery of food to be cooked at home) are absolutely delicious. We’ve been going there for years and it’s always been really good and in the past year we moved out of London and have yet to find anywhere as good. The ingredients are good quality and you can really tell - e.g a lot of places the lamb can be tough and chewy, or chicken is dry but not here. Personal favourites are the crispy bhindi, wings, lamb biryani but there a lots of dishes that won’t disappoint.

Just went here after a while. The wings were a little UNDERCOOKED, POTENTIAL HEALTH HAZARD, and tasted rather BLAND. That's such a shame as the wings used to be amazing. The vegetarian biryani was oily and also lacked flavour. The lamb kebabs were decent but not great and a little soggy. This place has really GONE DOWNHILL. Better food elsewhere, thank God!!!!!!

Chilli moga reasonable, no where near the hype. Tandoori chicken half, looked tired and tasted dry, accompanying lettuce was dated. Vegan based mince was salty and then tarka daal lacked the garlic hit and seasoning. Add two breads, and two soft drinks, total £65. All saving grace is the portions are big, but then you have a lot of bad food to finish. Avoid, this is poor at best.

Visited whilst on a business trip in London. Food was served very quick, as the table was ours for only 2 hours. The staff tend to hover over you like flies. Food was tasty, and priced reasonable for London.

Ordered twice from this restaurant. First time it was fine unfortunately second time I Ordered there was hair in my biriyani. Chef need to wear net hat while working in the kitchen not just cap. I don't recommend this place.

Nice restaurant with a great feel and atmosphere staff were good the food was ok a little bit too much oil in the food and maybe a bit salty but it tasted ok and I would try again I would just let them know to ease up on the oil and salt and I think it would be nicer so overall I would recommend the place but just let the chef know what you want and I think u will be fine. So overall it's just a thumbs up.

Been visiting this place for years and the food never disappoints, though must say in recent years as they expanded the menu there are some disappointing items but we usually order the same dishes - meat chops, crispy bhajia, wings, mishkaki, mogo. There are other places around that serve much better curries so we steer clear of those. The grill and starters here are top notch. Parking usually easy to find around nearby roads else always cheap parking at the train station less than 5min walk. Service is very efficient, lovely staff... On busy evenings can't get a table unless booked prior. Only loses a star as the price hikes of the food in recent months cannot be justified as not value for money anymore, similar places in north London for reasonable prices.

Well this restaurant has great reviews and I had dinner yesterday and ended up with upset stomach. Would had been any other restaurant would have straight away given 1 star. It feels something odd as I had to wake in middle of night with upset stomach.

We came to the Regency Club to celebrate a birthday and had a great time. The staff were wonderful - Ibrahim and the team were so helpful and friendly. The food was also delicious. We had a lovely time, thank you!

Wonderful food, and exceptional service from Cynel. As a Ceoliac every visit somewhere new is nerve racking. The menu had plenty of options, and even better Cynel was aware of how unwell someone can get if accidentally eating gluten. The food was delicious and the signature dish of lamp chops were incredible. Highly recommended. You have to book as it is busy busy busy because the food and service is so good!

The Regency Club is a staple and “reviewing” it does this institution an injustice. However, I will try. There is a reason why after every holiday I try to visit Regency, it gives me the flavours and comfort that I’ve been missing craving whilst being away. All the dishes pack a punch and the sauces only help to enhance the flavours. The hustle and bustle only add to the ambiance, but at times can feel rushed (though they have been active in making sure this is happening less). I could recommend the whole menu, but the following are my must haves: Crispy wings, kebabs, lamb cutlets, jeera chicken, garlic chilli mogo, crispy bhindi, tandoori wings, chilli garlic prawns, talapia fish. If you haven’t been, go. If you’re a regular keep enjoying.
