The Swan Hotel - JD Wetherspoon in Central Bedfordshire

We were passing through and popped in for a curry. Food was excellent and the service was okay

It's a spoons hotel, enough said really. It feels safe, that's the bottom line.

Rooms are nice but don’t stay for food. Kitchen buckles when it gets slightly busy and leaves you unable to order. So now you’re in a hotel that serves foods but as a guest can’t order anything unless you sit there waiting for the kitchen to catch up which ends up being late into the evening. What a joke

Popped here for a pint Monday afternoon. Chose the Jaipur and it was the roughest pint I've had for a while. They are probably not looking after their lines as I also tried the Abbott which was equally as rough so wasn't just a bad pint of one beer for me to say that. Avoid!

Popped into The Swan Hotel’s Wetherspoon bar and restaurant and had a fantastic experience. The atmosphere was lively but relaxed, service was quick and friendly, and the food was great value for money. Huge menu with lots of options, and everything we ordered came out hot and tasty. Great selection of drinks too. Definitely one of the best spots in Leighton Buzzard for a casual meal or a drink!

My husband and I went for breakfast, wasn't good at all, egg well done, tables not cleaned, my Husband had to clear the table rubbish to another table, 1 person only serving behind the bar, lacking more staff, will not be visiting again

Absolute joke of a pub. Booked a room for my daughter and her children then tried to eat in the restaurant to be told , contrary to the licencing law , that the children were not allowed to eat . 8 people including 2 children were now left without anything to eat because weatherspoons rules are different from UK licencing laws. Would not use this or any other weather's weatherspoons.

Tbh I would not normally consider a 2 or 3 star hotel but it was recommended by my course organiser. I was very pleasantly surprised, I've stayed in hotels with far higher ratings that were nowhere near as nice! I think they should look at this rating again. The food is what it is but staff were very friendly and helpful. Excellent location. Obvious downside is that it's above a busy pub so some noice from beer garden but not excessive. More noise from inconsiderate guests tbh slamming doors on way out from 5.30am onwards 🙄

We visited on Sunday, April 6th. The place was not very busy so we easily found a table and sat down. After opening the app, I entered the table number and it didn't recognise it. After trying again unsuccessfully, I went to find a member of the team to ask what the issue might be. They said that the new manager didn't arrange enough staff so they had to switch the app off to reduce the number of customers ordering food or drinks! Disappointed, I joined the lengthy queue at the bar and after an unreasonable amount of time, I was eventually served. I ordered the food and tried to order two draught Pepsi's but the server told me that the new manager hadn't ordered enough syrups for the draught drinks machine so I could only have a choice of the limited range of cans or bottled soft drinks. Once again, disappointing. We then waited for our food to arrive. Although the food was reasonable quality, it was let down by the disgusting tinned peas that had been boiled to the point of being a horrible mush, and the gammon was very fatty. I have visited many Wetherspoons establishments and I have to say that this is the worst one I have been to. If you are unable to provide enough training to a new manager, please don't appoint them. Or at least give them more support so they don't disappoint customers like they have today. Thankfully, I don't live in Leighton Buzzard so I am unlikely to visit this particular pub again, but I really hope you address these issues for the sake of your regular customers.

My partner spent a night in the Swan hotel and if this is the standard of wetherspoon hotel we will definitely be back. The room was a good size, nicely decorated and well stocked with toiletries, selection of tea coffee and hot chocolate. Excellent value for money

The food was good but the customer care was awful

Had a lovely stay in Leighton Buzzard. The rooms are spacious and comfortable. The location is perfect. There is a large car park to the rear which you have to pay for, but its £8 for 24 hours, so not bad value. The front goes out on to the main street which is nice. The only downside for us was the Saturday morning breakfast. Our order was taken to the wrong table. When it was eventually sorted out, the food was cold. We didn't eat there again.

Leighton buzzard its self isnt a bad little market town so staying over night in the weatherspoon is quite handy howevef i coukd not find no free parking but the food was ok and the booze not to bad for cheap and cheerful

Being a big fan of the Wetherspoons Franchises and also having the privilege of being able to visit so many around the country, this was my very first stay at a Wetherspoons Hotel and I enjoyed it immensely, the staff were friendly and very helpful, food was excellent and the the hole experience was memorable, the only sad part apart from checking out was being told that I was served their very last pint of draft Kopparberg Strawberry & Lime Cider as they were discontinuing sering it.

It's just vile. Today no eggs, Jo black pudding, staff look like they have lost the will to live. Dirty tables everywhere but it was so quiet. Do they have an area manager. I travel alot around the country and this is the worst. I'm more than happy to help them cook an egg...if they have any

Good food, good beer at very reasonable prices.

Nice pub just a shame about the food....9 times out of 10 we have to send food back as its cold. Ordered a baked potato today had one mouthful then instantly spat it straight out as it was literally stone cold...not nice. Just a pain to always have to send food back.

I have visited pub only on a market day due to its location at main street. Pretty busy wth customers having meals. As you can expect matches standard of Wetherspoon - good ood and selection of beers in atractive prices.

Good budget hotel above the Wetherspoons pub. Rooms are clean and well stocked with tea coffee and water (and biscuits!!). Can be a little noisy at closing time but staff friendly and helpful. Car park is a public one behind the hotel but only £0.40 for an overnight stay!

Ideal location and we asked for a quiet room and it definitely was, great time. I would recommend it.

Always a good bet for a cheap meal and drink, unfortunately, the usual suspects bring the place down of an evening so try to escape around 20:00 at the latest. Day drinkers which are a Wetherspoons staple loiter around, the beer garden has ample seating and heaters and offers a reprieve from their antics and volume.

Nice hotel...clean room, bed and bathroom. Morning staff were busy talking about their ailments rather than attending to waiting customers

Ordered food! Nice until I found plastic inside my food and realising they forgot to bring out the sauce I paid additionally for.. Reminded them and was told they will be over shortly, never returned. Worst Wetherspoons I have visited

Has the potential to be 4-5 star. Sadly the staff think they are there for their own enjoyment. Customers are an irritant.

Worst service i ever had from the staff Alex and Sophia. On Thursday-Friday October 2024, We paid extra payment for the late check out from reception. Those guys woke me up in middle of sleep and asked me to vacate the room in 15 min before 2 hours from actual checkout time.

“I had a disappointing experience with Roomstay. The booking process was confusing, and when I arrived, the accommodation did not match the description at all.. Additionally, the customer service was unresponsive when I tried to address these issues. I expected much more for the price I paid. I wouldn’t recommend using Roomstay.”

Comfortable hotel conveniently located in the centre of this market town. Some noise from the pub courtyard during our stay but didn't spoil our visit. The usual good value for food and drink. Parking £8 per day in adjacent municipal carpark.

Staff were friendly, good location. No desserts on the menu though which was gutting after finishing dinner and fancying some fudge cake. Didn't stay in the Hotel so can't comment on that.

Stayed overnight to meet old friends, ideal for what we had planned. Room and facilities great, couldn't fault it. Staff really good, highly recommend

I didn't stay at the hotel but my daughter knows people that have and they highly recommend it. I visited for dinner which was delicious, the service was first class and the bill was extremely pleasing. Can't wait to go back again

Went for a meal, four of us. Lovely clean restaurant, menu was great and meals were hot. Toilets was a bit of a trek but very clean. Would go again

A nice town to visit and a really nice Wetherspoons in the high street- nice and easy to find plenty of parking around - a great choice of beers wines and spirits and the usual menu with plenty of choice for food - very friendly and quick service even tho it was very busy at 6pm 🍻😊

Excellent comfort in the city center with all shops within walking distance. At the meeting PUB atmosphere. A shame is missing an elevator but in these old homes it's not easy to install.

Really found it quite good in all areas. Food cheap and edible. Beer cheap and decent pint. Rooms a good size. Staff really nice and chatty Parking is available locally and close to premises.

This man is disgusting. Went into disabled toilet (not at all disabled while on a work call) and a old lady on a simmer frame had to wait 5 minutes. When he came out he didn't even hold the door for her. Absolutely disgusting person individual.

Can't answer for the rooms, anecdotal reports from colleagues are positive though! With work, I tend to visit lots of Wetherspoons as it's best value for Per Diem's. This one is pretty good! Decor is good, it's a central location in Leighton and there's a big car park out back that's free in the evenings

Great location in old posting and coach house beautifully restored. Food was good and excellent value. A little bit noisy but not so bad we wanted to leave. Visit regularly. Still just as good on recent visits, prices have crept up though but they gone even higher at other pubs and restaurants! Still good on our latest visit 28 April 2024.

Great JD Wetherspoons - really cheap drinks & yummy, quality food in these hard economic times. Spacious bar area & sheltered outdoor area for smokers and during nice weather. Old building in an historic, market town. Lots of ancient, listed buildings & plenty of shops & banks in the same High Street. Professional, helpful staff. Several large & cheap public car parks within 2 mins walking distance; as at July24, around £2 for 2 hours parking. Don't park illegally in the High St; you'll get a parking ticket.

Went to have a coffee with my wife. Love the coffees at all Wetherspoons. My wife had a dessert. We were enjoying our moment together but were let down by a roudy group of youngsters. Even after one of the staff came and asked them to lower their voices, they did for 5 minutes but then continued being roudy again. No staff came to say anything again. Not sure if this normal here but if I returned and this was happening, I would walk out.

Accessible Room off the court yard. Very noisy from beer garden ( even late in to the evening) . Not sure what is above us but it sounds like a load of elephants with boots on wrestling ???. It’s constant ??? It’s 11pm for goodness sake ! We can also hear next doors television quite clearly through the flimsy door. The bedding and towels are clean, large bathroom and comfortable beds but I’m afraid everything else is very tired and a bit grubby. Definitely won’t be back.

We've stayed here a few times over the years, as it's en route to an elderly relative that we try to visit often. I don't really know how anyone can fault it: a cheap price for a large deluxe room (this latest time our room even had a sofa), well-cooked food at very reasonable prices (well, it is a 'Spoons after all), and mostly friendly staff (I think every establishment of its type has the odd member of staff who seemingly would rather be somewhere else!). Okay, so our breakfast plates would have been better if they had been warmed before the food was put on them, and yes we heard some people outside after dark because it is on a main street through the town and people sometimes make some noise, but overall we had a very good one-night stay; not for the first time and very likely not for the last.

We visited for a quick drink on a hot Sunday afternoon. We were served quickly and sat outside. There's a big terraced area. The toilets women's toilets were OK. Could have been cleaner, but OK. My husband said the men's toilets were appalling, so they must have been bad!

It's difficult to believe, I came here, from up North, for some food with my family. It happened to be curry night and I got Beef Madras, pilau rice, 2 poppadoms and a nan bread PLUS a pint of Stella for £10.02p. it was delicious and I can't believe it. Wetherspoons works for me/us most of the time and we walk home happy people.

Assisted by an amazing manager, Mrs Hazel Gill. I have special needs, physically and mentally. Mrs Gill made sure I received the best service and assistance and even checked on me when I was struggling with my mobility, and was stuck in the disabled lavatory for some time due to seized joints. She certainly keeps the female staff and customers safe, respected and protected when there are predatory, agressive and intoxicated males - shutting the situation down quickly and with total control. A great place for meal, drinks and celebrations, with staff that shine due to some great management skills. I will be visiting more frequently! Somebody give that amazing Wo-man-ager 🌟 a raise!

Value for money breakfast, but they really need to cook the tomatoes

I’ve always loved my local Wetherspoons here in Leighton. It feels like an old fashioned independent pub despite it being part of a chain. There are a lot of places you can sit here including bar side, tucked at the back by the windows, by the front door or outside if it’s warm enough. As for drinks, you wont find a lovely cask pint of doom bar for £1.99 anywhere else that tastes this good. Being served is a friendly affair with next to no waiting times when I’ve visited. The bar staff always seem to have a smile on their faces which is nice to see and makes me feel valued as a customer. Perhaps not my go to all the time, they certainly hit the mark for a quality pub. Thank you.

Went last night for curry night. What a disaster paid extra for garlic naan to then sold. They haven’t got any on in the first place paid extra for a large mixed grill, then to only get half of it because they haven’t got the rest there absolute utter rip offask for a refund just got stared at quite simple really last night. They stole £1.90 off me won’t be going back again the place and the way they treat customers is an absolute disgrace. They should be ashamed

Excellent hotel. Great location in the town centre. Tea making facilities in the room which was very welcome. Comfortable bed and good shower. Will definitely return.

Air conditioned rooms with ensuite bathroom, rooms are well maintained complete with free WiFi and a large screen TV. Wetherspoons bar on the ground floor if you want a drink and something to eat. This is my first choice of hotel whenever I visit Leighton Buzzard.

It's a weatherspoons you get what you pay for cheap and cheerful no fancy food here no fancy service ide say most of food is microwaveable clientele is well what you expect from somewhere like that
