Nice village pub with large beer garden. Good range of local real ales

Called three hours before to check of food was available tonight. I was told yes and as only one person dinning I did not need to book. I arrived at the pub at 6pm to be told there was one Cook on and I could not have a table. I was going to be at the pub for a few hours after the meal to enjoy drinks. Disappointed

Fantastic Sunday lunch- fresh, seasonal veg, big, fluffy yorkshires, & melt in the mouth meat. The sticky toffee pudding tasted homemade and was delicious. Faultless service, warm, friendly greeting and careful details like hand written slate name signs for reserved tables. 10 out of 10!

Food was good although a little pricey. The curry could do with jazzing up a bit with some extras such as naan bread, mango chutney maybe. All in all quite a pleasant lunch would go back.

My family and I had a wonderful Sunday lunch at The Swan this afternoon. A warm friendly welcome and a delicious Sunday roast enjoyed by all in the beer garden. Thank you to all the staff members

Having walked for 40 mins in the rain it is frustrating to find this place does not do food on a Tuesday, I think the website should state this. Beers 👍

Food average disappointing portion sizes

What a great pub. Looking for somewhere for supper on a grey spring evening and decided to try the Swan, not least because my local is also a The Swan. Lovely atmosphere, welcoming staff and the food was simply delicious. I was in the mood for my go to favourite pub food, gammon egg and chips, and this was well worth it. Thick cut gammon, nicely fried egg and crispy yet fluffy chips. The desserts were delish too! Thoroughly recommended.

Absolutely amazing place. The perfect pub. Warm welcome, great food (plus I’m vegan and not easy to please) wonderful landlord and landlady. The entire place was spotless, so clean and immaculate. I wished we lived closer but we will be back, just to visit this pub. This is the pub that all pubs should aspire to be!

Beautiful country pub, staff very friendly, price not the cheapest but they are justified by the quality. I had one of the best risotto on a Sunday lunch that I'll never forget. There's sport entertainment to watch on TV or also a big beer garden. Dogs are welcome and there's a parking space outside. Definitely worth a try

Had lunch here with friends here, the food was great, the service was spot on and dogs are very welcome, our wee dog got treated as well as us.

Lovely great value baguettes filled with tasty steak & onion or Brie, bacon and cranberry etc. The landlady and helpers were first class. The beers were excellent. Terrific olde worlde pub atmosphere. Definitely will come again.

What can I say, we didn’t eat at the Swan but had the most amazing evening meeting lovely landlord Mick and other very friendly locals. The pub is warm and extremely inviting, we walked about 30 mins to get there but really worth it! Menu looked great! So worth a visit, we will be back! 😍

We went for a walk on the Quantocks with our dog and popped in for a roast. We pre booked a few weeks ago and just as well as it was BUSY!! I had the pork and the bf had the mix of 3 meats for an extra £1 and it was honestly the best roast I’ve had in a long while. Perfectly presented and very generous slices of pork, a home made Yorkshire pud and a good selection of vegetables all cooked to perfection. They obviously have very talented chefs back in the kitchen. The service was great, the 2 young girls were very attentive and the young lad was very friendly and observant offering more drinks or more condiments. Of course we had room for puddings - having home made apple crumble and a sticky toffee pudding both with custard. Absolutely delicious!

We had a delicious meal ,garlic mushrooms followed by pork from the specials board .Staff are great and i loved the log fire.

A lovely cosy country pub serving great food. Unfortunately they had just run out of fish 1.5hrs into lunch service, so I went with their burger. It was AMAZING!! very flavoursome and a good sized portion.

This is the best of a British country pub you could ever find. Staff are superb and the food they serve everyone working there should be proud off. Would not hesitate to recommend to anyone. Great old rustic country pub feeling and the most amazing pub garden to enjoy whatever you fancy. BRILLIANT!!

Excellent food. A little unfortunate to be sitting next to the unlit fire - a bit of a draught down the chimney, so a bit chilly. Not enough to stop us going back, but would ask for a different table.

Ritually brilliant.. the friendliness of the staff.. the food.. all just excellent. We went for a lunchtime pint and then dinner. We couldn’t have been made to feel more welcome. There were five of us and every person was so impressed. The food is really great pub fare. I had the steak our and ate every lost morsel. Friends had the steak and scampi. All cooked perfectly. Thoroughly recommend!

I went to this pub the 1st time with my son & his family for Sunday roast. It was a very good roast dinner. Thoroughly enjoyed it.

Stayed at mill meadow for weekend and went to the swan for Sunday lunch, there was 7of us on a hen do,it was the best Sunday dinner at a restaurant/pub for a long time and the staff were amazing, they made us feel Very welcome, thank you so much x

this is a hidden gem.popped in for lunch the food is excellent, well cooked & good portions. Staff are just fantastic the chef came out and sat with us giving good info as to where to walk the dog. If we could lift this pub up & place it in our hometown would always be there.THANK YOU it was just great.

The service was pleasant, the food was hot. However, the fish and chips were lacking in flavour, the mashed potato was disappointing. The one saving grace were the sausages, which were very tasty. Overall, not the best experience and somewhat of a waste of money.

Great pub! Visited whilst on a short holiday break. The staff were so accomodating to my family. My wife was pregant, we had our 21 month old daughter and dog with us. The meal and service was so good that I actually felt relaxed! If you are in the area definitely stop for a bite to eat here. I had the burger, it was very tasty. A very simple thing that both my wife and I enjoyed were the onion rings, the batter was so light. My daughter had fish and chips, the chefs came out to check whether she would prefer beans and also cut up a piece of freah fish in to 3 and then coated it in batter. A perfect example of someone really trying to make our experience and best as they could. Thank you to all the staff.

Wonderful experience, dining to celebrate our engagement. Food was amazing, as was the service, and reasonably priced too. Nice atmosphere, but (and not the pub's fault) when we walked in it was like a scene from the Slaughtered Lamb (remember American Werewolf In London?) where everything stopped and we were stared at! Slightly uncomfortable but soon resolved by finding our table. Manager/owner was lovely, and the waitress too, engaging us in conversation without being too pushy. My fiance's ham, egg and chips was very good, but my pie was perhaps the best handmade pie I'd eaten! A thoroughly enjoyable evening, one we hope to replicate very soon. Thank you guys, it was great!

This pub is a must for anyone visiting Taunton. The food is outstanding, the staff are friendly and super efficient and the locals are welcoming and chatty. There is a large outside seating area or a cosy inside pub/restaurant area. The food is top quality and the chef also come rounds to check everything is OK. Make a visit you will not be disappointed 👌

They were happy to serve us a pot of tea. Very friendly and we'd love to go back for something more substantial when we're in the area again.
