Stopped in this place while cycling through and it was really excellent. Service from the owners was really attentive and personal. Good was fresh and super tasty. I also left my coat and they were super helpful the next day. Great place!

Last weekend our son organised a take away from the Lotus Flower as a treat for my husband and I. The thai food was delicious, my husband has been talking about the soup all week. The delicate flavours were mouth watering and the portions very generous, giving us leftovers for Sunday. A lovely treat for us.

As a huge foodie, passionate about good, fresh high quality food I have to review lotus flower. To the recent reviewers rating low, I can't imagine what expectations you have, but having eaten here I'm blown away!! Stunning fresh out of this world food and absolutely authentically friend service from the most beautiful lady. Highly recommend. Will be back I love Thai food and this place is great food!!

The atmosphere of the restaurant feels like the Thai countryside. The food has many of the flavors you would expect from authentic Thai dishes. The ladies and gentleman who were running the restaurant were very welcoming and kind!

Really fantastic and sweet staff. Food was delicious and service was fantastic. They managed to cater very well to my onion/garlic/etc intolerance and it was exquisite. The interior is really cool, done up to look like a Thai hut. Totally unexpected! Then came the bill, and tbh we were surprised by how good value it was. Really fantastic time overall.

Massive disappointment. I could hardly start let alone finish. I've given it to the dog, and I'm never coming back. The duck tastes off. I'm not alleging it *is* off, but it tastes off, like it's on the turn. It has literally got a grey sheen to it. Maybe it's the way it was cooked. It tastes a bit like bad breath, to be honest. The curry sauce tastes *nothing* like any Thai curry sauce I've had in Thailand or England in my life. It tastes like nothing, like flour and water. This place used to be really good. Either it's changed hands or the chef has stopped bothering to taste the food before sending it out

Husband ordered a take away for tonight Green chicken and chicken Massaman. We’ve had great food at the Lotus Flower previously, but tonight’s food was really disappointing. Thin sauce, pretty tasteless and generally very unexciting. Not like any Thai I’ve had before. Maybe it was an off night?

Lovely lovely lovely. Stopped for a super quick bite - only had 20 mins before a train. The wonderful couple who own and run it were so sweet, got me fed quickly with just a delicious and fresh pad Thai. Tried to overpay for their troubles considering how busy they were, and she insisted on sending me on my way with snacks for my journey. Delightful experience, will return if I’m ever in Taunton!

One of my favourite restaurants in Taunton! Lotus Flower is a truly authentic thai restaurant. The food is tasty, the portions are quite generous and the hosts are lovely. I always have a great time there!

Had a really lovely meal here with my partner today. The staff are so friendly and go above and beyond to ensure you have everything you need (even went to the shop to source a drink they’d run out of!). Food was delicious and authentic, I really recommend the pad Thai. We will be back :)

The Lotus Flower Thai Restaurant is really nice! We've been there a bunch of times, and it's always great. The food is delicious, like real Thai food. The couple who run it are super nice and always make sure you're having a good time. They're really friendly and like to talk, it's like hanging out with Thai grandparents! And the prices are very reasonable, so you can enjoy yummy food without breaking the bank.

Beautiful warm welcome as always . The four of us had a lovely time on a wet February evening at this fabulous long running established Thai restaurant. Excellent meals all fresh and home cooked traditional food. Well deserved 5* from us. Thank you. We will come again soon :))

To simply describe the experience: “some Thai-like food at grand-mother’s”. The host and chef were welcoming, and we didn’t mind the interior as we hoped the food would be great. However, the food left us disappointed as it was way below the average. Customers are too shy to give genuine feedback as the hosts are nice. But they do need a good re-assessment of the quality of their food. Would not go back, would not get a takeaway.

I went with a group of friends after the crcket on a Wednesday night in September. We had a wonderful time. The food is all freshly cooked and tastes great. Brilliant friendly service from the owners. Also a very good value meal and Thai wine which matches the food. What I liked especially was the freshness of the tastes: it was so much more interesting than Thai Square (even though that is a pretty good chain). In summary, I would totally recommend this excellent well run restauarnt and plan to visit after each Somerset game next season.

Such a nice place with a truly warm and welcoming staff. Super good food prepared by a woman who is obviously concerned with the quality of the food and the enjoyment of her guests. This isn’t in our neck of the woods, but we’d visit again. The owner was amazingly helpful and gave us a full briefing of the town centre parking on the phone. Great service across the board!! Absolutely the best Thai food I have ever had. Whilst the restaurant is basic with functional furniture it's the food that sets it apart. The food is what sets the Lotus Flower's bar high for others to follow.

Great Thai food - the right balance of sweet, sour, salty, creamy and umami. It was also great how the dishes could be adjusted regarding content - beef and prawn massaman, when only chicken massaman is on the menu, and tom ka gai when only tom yum soups are on the menu. They also go the spiciness just right for my family’s varied requests that ranges form medium to Thai hot. The shrimp skewers was an item I never had before and was really good. I particularly like how well it was fried, the quality of the shrimp, and the choice of a savory chili sauce in addition to the typical Thai restaurant sweet chilli sauce, which was also really good.

Amazing! We had our first takeaway tonight and it was super delicious. Very authentic flavours. Lady cooking was lovely and took such care over our food. We will be back!

LOVELY! Fully recommended. Came in on a quiet Thursday evening and were greeted with warm and friendly restaurant and waiter who stuck perfectly between attentive and withdrawn. The absolute best Thai meal outside of Thailand! Enjoyed delightful starters of battered prawns and vegetable spring rolls, all of which were perfectly cooked and full of flavour. Main courses were Phad Thai (chicken) and Massaman Curry (chicken), each of which were simply the most flavourful dishes we have had since holidaying in Thailand. Superb! Will be back.

Really disappointing. Food was jut incredibly mediocre. Tasteless to the point we threw it away. Spring rolls: primarily noodles with the odd bit of carrot in Pad Thai: noodles mushy, practically no veg and prawns when asked for chicken Green curry. Watery, barely a hint of flavor and tough over cooked chicken Drunken squid: inedible squid.

Have been here now four times taking different friends each time. All of us say the same thing, this feels like you have been invited into the family home and asked what you would like to eat and how flavoursome you like your Thai food. The food is prepared and served to perfection, the best Thai we have ever had. The whole place is family run and the Chef comes to your table to check that you are happy with the food. Even their house red wine is a choice of a good Malbec or Bordeaux. This is such a friendly place, two dining rooms with about 6 tables in each room makes this a great place for a Romantic meal or a group of people, make sure you book!

Please come and support this small local restaurant! 2 brilliant owners and homemade authentic Thai food. Amazing every time, cater for all dietary requirements (I always have duck red curry without duck!)

We visited here with another couple last weekend and honestly had the best meal out. The food was well cooked, really delicious and in perfect portion sizes (if anything generous). Amazing food aside, the service was absolutely unbelievable…the owners who served us worked incredibly hard but with a real passion for their work and welcomed us as though we had known them for years. These days you just don’t get that level of customer service - nothing was too much trouble. We had a really lovely evening and will definitely come back. Thank you so much 😊

We have just had the most fabulous meal - all freshly prepared so you can be a little 'spice' shy of like me you like flavour without blowing your head off. Spring rolls, best I have ever had. 5/5 food safety, and reasonably priced too. Thoroughly recommended.

This Thai restaurant is great, I have visited many times due to work trips to Taunton. The owner and the chef are so friendly, the decor in the restaurant is apt. The food is so tasty and full of fresh veg and is perfectly cooked. Portion sizes are also good. I wish the place was open every night of the week as I've had to go elsewhere some nights when they've been closed. So if you like the Thai flavours, and meals cooked from scratch by a Thai chef, you won't be disappointed.

My food was very authentic and tasted fantastic. I asked the rest of my party and they were very satisfied with their food. The owner was able to come out of the kitchen and delivered amazing customer service by thanking us for coming, making us all laugh and was overall a sweet woman. After paying, she asked if it was anyone's birthday where someone in my group jokingly said it was my birthday! She scurried back to the kitchen, then swiftly appeared singing "Happy Birthday" holding an apple with birthday candles on a plate decorated with Celebrations sweets. Definitely contemplating coming again for a meal in September when the main chef is back and the owner is able to give us all of her attention with her incredible hosting.

You can taste delicious and friendly Thai food. The wife was also very kind.

I love this place, and its owners and ambience. I went there with a big group this time having also gone as just 2 people many times. They were terrific, and of course cook everything absolutely fresh. It's such great value, most of my guests hadn't been there before and couldn't believe how great it was. I thoroughly recommend.

Went here after reading reviews. Was excellent, beautiful freshly cooked food. Great service and Wasana is a delight. Also the young man helping her with serving. So interesting to talk with them both after such a reasonably priced evening. Will return when next in Taunton.

Amazing and authentic! We come every week now after our Muay Thai kickboxing classes For some well earned and incredible food. I have a stomach disorder and can't eat a majority of foods, but the talented chef is happy to make me a custom meal every week. Amazing find, walking up Taunton highstreet while visiting a friend. The hosts were very engaging, & the food was excellent. Not being very adventurous with food, ai was glad I stepped out of my comfort zone this 1 time! Will definitely visit again, if I can book a table- I understand walk-ins are quite uncommon.

Had two fabulous visits to Lotus Flower while visiting Taunton. Exceptional customer service from the waiter and the lovely owner. The food is incredibly fresh and we particularly enjoyed the fish cake and spring rolls. Our mains were delicious, particularly the Duck Red Curry. My only recommendation would be to have a broader menu particularly for starters but there's still lots of choice. Will be back again soon!!

Went for my birthday and was very disappointed. I only booked because of all the positive reviews and thought it would be similar to Wagamama’s or at least from the reviews it sounded authentic and traditional. But the food was extremely basic and hardly fragrant at all. I ordered the Pad Thai which is one of my favourites and unfortunately it was very disappointing, all the dishes were. It’s shame, won’t be going again.

Went for dinner last night based on a recommendation by2 friends and the Lotus Flower did not disappoint. Truly authentic Thai food at it's best. Lovely hosts who made us feel very welcome. We will be regulars I'm sure.

We were reccomended the Lotus Flower by friends and it certainly did not disappoint! Brilliant fresh food cooked to perfection. Customer service on collection was also very good - warm, polite and friendly. Will definitely return to eat at the restaurant post COVID.
