The food was good. As expected. The 2/3 course menu was good value but the best bit was the service from Bertrand who was excellent. Chatty but not to chatty. He was very professional.

Absolutely incredible experience. We have been to several Miller & Carters around but the experience, food and service was a step above the others here. Our waiter Bertrand was absolutely incredible, from his professionalism to incredible witty and funny jokes really made the service feel like something special, he really does deserve a special mention.

Dined at Miller and Carter, Taunton this evening after an Escape Room Experience. Was looking forward to it as we have been to many Miller and Carter establishments around the country. However, we were very disappointed. It would appear they are totally understaffed to cope with the volume of covers. Couldn’t fault our server - she was lovely - just overworked. Took 30 mins from arrival to take our drinks order - as we had decided on our good by this time we ordered at same time. Drinks and starters arrived in a fairly acceptable timescale. However, we then had a long wait for our main course and when it arrived, although it was tasty, everything was stone cold. I had ordered baby new potatoes but these turned out to be dauphinoise, however, they were tasty. As our food was delivered we ordered a second drink, however, we had finished our food and it still hadn’t arrived so we had to go and ask at the bar. We did tell our server our food was cold and she said she would feed back to the kitchen. Additionally, after we had finished our meal it took over half an hour for our plates to be cleared and desserts offered. After paying, on the way home we noted we had been charged extra for the dauphinoise potatoes despite not actually ordering them. A very disappointing meal overall which was a great shame.

Summer was such an amazing waitress. She went the extra mile and made our special birthday celebration wonderful. Thank you Summer for your excellent service

Sat down at 7-20pm. Although staff were very polite we waited 20 minutes to be served. Our starters arrived one hour after sitting down and our mains two hours after. Overall we found this too long although it may suit some. Food was excellent but overall experience left us a little underwhelmed. We left rather than have dessert as didn’t want to wait another hour.

Food came out on time cooked to perfection, and sam our waitress was lovely polite and professional.

You are never too sure with restaurant chains that you’ll actually get the same quality from one to the next. I can safely say that this wasn’t the case on this occasion. The building was excellent and our greeting was welcoming and professional. From the moment of being seated to paying the bill it was all done with the up most professionalism and that personal touch. Special mention for George the barman who made mother in law a great cocktail that helped her sleep on the way home lol 🤣

I had a reservation at Miller & Carter Sunday 19th January at 7 PM, and I can confidently say it was one of the worst dining experiences I’ve ever encountered. The entire evening was a complete disaster from the moment we stepped through the door, and I am utterly baffled by how a supposedly premium steakhouse could get things so wrong. Upon arrival, we were informed that they were out of their signature sharing experience and, astonishingly, out of lettuce for the steaks. For those familiar with Miller & Carter, you’ll understand just how important these elements are to their core offering. However, we decided to give them the benefit of the doubt and be seated. Unfortunately, what followed only made matters worse. As we sat at our table, we overheard staff apologizing to other diners for being out of most steaks, burgers, wedges, sauces, and even drinks. The menu was essentially non-existent at this point. A steakhouse with no steaks, no sides, and limited drinks is not just disappointing—it’s completely unacceptable. It became clear this wasn’t just bad luck but rather a shocking lack of management and preparation. Adding insult to injury, we weren’t warned about any of these issues ahead of time—not when we made the booking, nor when we arrived. Had we known, we wouldn’t have wasted our time driving there, only to leave empty-handed. The lack of communication was as frustrating as the absence of food. This wasn’t a simple inconvenience; it was an embarrassing failure on the restaurant’s part. Miller & Carter positions itself as a premium dining experience, yet tonight’s visit fell embarrassingly short of even the most basic standards. To say this experience has damaged our trust in the brand is an understatement. We left feeling frustrated, disappointed, and as though we had completely wasted our evening. It’s going to take more than an apology to restore any confidence in Miller & Carter after such an appalling experience. At this point, I would question whether this restaurant even deserves to bear the Miller & Carter name.

I went out for a meal with my partner hoping we were going to have a steak. We were told what we ordered wasn't available so we chose something else to be told that wasn't available.. Bit disappointed after spending 63.00 and not getting what you really wanted. We didn't want to leave and go so.ewhere else because the time was late. When we first arrived we were not told what wasn't available on the menus!!! We didn't give a tip as we didn't get what we asked for.

Not impressed at all and not recommended Three of us thought it would be nice to stop for a bite to eat on our way home to Exmoor. But were told they might be able to fit us in. Strange. Because the car park was nearly empty and restaurant had so many empty tables. Then told they might have space in an hour. The time then was 1pm. Unless there was going to be a mad rush or two or three coach parties turning up I couldn’t see why they couldn’t fit us in. Any way we left. The Hankridge Arms. Blackbrook. Were very welcoming and we had a lovely meal.

Absolutely amazing food in Taunton miller and carter, I was a chef in padstow and I’ve eaten in all the famous and more restaurants down there and this was 100% the best meal of my life. Chateau Briand was cooked perfectly and melted in your mouth, the sides were out of this world. Highly recommending the Camembert mash, sautéed greens & the beef dripping gravy was heavenly. Thankyou to the Chefs. Service was absolutely wonderful, I often feel uncomfortable in nice restaurants but we were warmly welcomed, seated and drinks served rapidly. Our waiter was Bertrand who really went above and beyond to make us happy, he was the kindest man, paid compliments to our new baby, served us very quickly but not rushed at all, Thankyou so much Bertrand, we will absolutely be back and I will be recommending this restaurant to everyone I know. Thankyou so much!

Nice table and lovely friendly waiter made us feel all very welcome. As it is a steak house, of course the menu focussed on steaks and burgers. If there could be a slightly wider choice of alternatives that would be good.

We waited patiently for January and the Sunday Sharer Board to return! It was stunning and we will be back again. Service and atmosphere spot on.

Another poor experience here, hoping it had improved. Stood waiting to be seated for ten minutes whilst staff chatted at the bar. Started came out with no side plates so ate bread off napkins, wine glasses were left on the table and not taken away so the table was cluttered. The dress smart casual rule as always is a joke with people scattered about dressed ready for the gym. Charging £39/£40 for a filet steak with this level of service is laughable. The food is good, but everything else needs improvement

Went for anniversary dinner which was amazing the service was awesome . Roanna our waitress was very friendly and helpful and had an excellent knowledge of menu and how to have our butcher block cooked each meat was completely cooked differently which add to the experience will definitely be back

It was alright, but the scallops were overcooked and the lobster wasn't as fresh as it could have been, also dessert took 20 mins to come....7/10 for food. 3/10 for service 🙄 a shame because the actually waitresses/waitors were lovely, Michaela was a great waitress! But the supervisor ignored us, leaving us waiting at the entrance for 10 mins, then ignored us when we were ready to be seated after a drink in the bar, and when she did finally turn to us she said 'let me take you to your table before I get caught up again' like we were some second thought. A shame seeing as it was my husband's birthday meal. Awfully pricey for the experience 🤕

Clear tourist trap. Check online about the fixed price lunch menu before you go as the staff will deceive you and pretend it doesn't exist.

My partner and I came for steaks this afternoon and were welcomed by very friendly staff, who were consistent throughout our visit (have to say, the experience was made all the better by the super friendly waiter (Bertrand). My partner had the Black Angus Sirloin - she said it was delicious however, the fat wasn't seared.. and I had the Black Angus Ribeye, which was actually perfect. For desert, we shared the brownie and ice cream.. the flavour of the brownie was incredible and you could tell it was made with quality ingredients however, it was a little too dry for a traditional brownie. All together, was a great atmosphere and I enjoyed my steak, for the price. My partner, on the other hand, thought hers was a bit chewy - so mixed reviews! Despite this, we would definitely return.
