Thought our friends and I would appreciate a restaurant different to our normal choices. Somewhere with a superior menu and ambiance. Very pleasantly surprised at Miller and Carter as the last time we visited it was a Toby Carvery - which incidentally we loved and miss. The menu of the day was superb and so was the meal, suiting the pocket of all whist providing a touch of refinement. There was plenty of room to space the tables and comfortable chairs to allow all of us to hear each other speak - something rare at many restaurants now. We were served by Sam as pleasant and efficient as they come. Sam always shows enthusiasm and attends to all needs. One and only one small criticism was when we expressed a preference for the optional chunkier chips, rather than the far too common skinny chips or fries, we weren't advised they would cost more. It was only noticed when the bill came. Will definitely be returning soon and spreading the word.

Altogether, not good. After being seated for our booking on our anniversary we ordered drinks and then our dinner. Garlic Bread was good, thats where it all fell apart, as our main course was placed on the table I noticed that they had served me a Rib-Eye instead of a Fillet. The waiter took all the plates away and said they would return shortly with the correct meal. When the meals came back out, the order was incorrect a second time, luckily it was food that could be removed and quickly replaced but come on, wrong twice! My wife had Salmon with beans and peas. The beans still had stalks on them and her pees were hard. My Fillet was well done instead of the requested rare-medium and the fries that came with it were very overcooked. Add to this my suprise for a pint of shandy that cost over £6 and a glass of Rose wine for £10. I didn't expect cheap, I knew that the meal would be reasonably expensive, that was ok, but the quality of food preparation left a lot to be desired and the service was poor too. If a "Chef" in a "Steakhouse" cant cook a steak to order then the establishment needs to take a long hard look at itself. Such a shame which really spoiled our night. The manager authorised the waitress to reduce our food bill by 10% which was ok, but there was no apology for the order failures or the quality of the food. Will not visit again!

Great location on Junction 25 Steak and Salad is my favourite meal when I go out. I was adventurous and had the Squash Salad with a rump steak topping. It really didn't work. Hardly any dressing on the salad and it needed a plate not a bowl. I had hummus all over my steak which spoilt the steak. We also had a cheeseburger and was half way through it before we found the cheese. Ribs and a side of lobster tail was awesome. Steaks were cooked perfectly and really nice. Fries were great. Staff were lovely, but service was slow tonight. Only one waitress for a large number of tables. We won't be going back, the music drove me nuts and it was expensive.

Lovely lunch, the lunch menu was good value and tasty, our server, Grace B, was friendly, attentive and polite. Would highly recommend.

Waiter was lovely. Was out with my family for my birthday and they gave me my pudding with happy birthday written on it which made my day complete.

Food was great but service was very slow - took us nearly 3 hours to get 3 courses. We were sat for over an hour and 45 mins before our mains arrived.

A lovely meal here again last night, although it was busier as it was bank holiday weekend so we waited a bit longer for our food. All the staff were friendly especially our waitress Sam. We were a bit disappointed as we ordered from the set Sunday menu but when we came to pay & used our £25 reward voucher we were told we had to pay full price for our food rather than the set price. I can’t find anywhere where it states this, had we known in advance we would have ordered from the normal menu.

Found my Rump steak very grisly, left me disappointed as it is suppose to be a steak house, but found not as good quality as in some pub restaurants.

What a shame.This had become one of our favourite places to dine until today. We arrived ar 3pm ,not having booked, as we have previously had no problems. We waited at the check- in podium and were simply ignored for a long while,probably 7-8 minutes. A waiter eventually arrived to advise us that they could not take anymore more food orders for 45 minutes.Why did he not tell us immediately ,when he saw us arrive. Another gentlemen then arrived and proceeded to tell us how busy they were and the kitchen had instructed no more orders.He went on to tell us that they had big parties and they were short of staff. Frankly we felt very uncomfortable and were sorry that we were adding to their woes. We left without ordering.

Beth was amazing host, nothing was too much trouble, she made our evening. Food was good and the mai tai’s was even better.

The steak baguette was appalling. It tasted like charcoal. My Dad was paying so I didn't say anything at the time, but it was the worst steak baguette I've ever had. I wouldn't return.

We had a lovely meal here on our way to the Isle of Scilly. All of the staff were friendly and made sure we had everything we needed. The food was amazing and if we lived closer we would be back! Fabulous place and defiantly go if you’re passing!

The place is dressed like a Miller & Carter and the waiting staff are lovely.. but the food was like from a Tobby Grill.. which strangely is what shown up on my statement.. my 5 year old's well done steak had blood pouring from it.. my Wife's medium Well was rare and my medium still had a pulse.. Starters where lovely.

First time at Miller & Carter, and booked on the back of a Facebook ad. The Taunton restaurant is located conveniently (though probably not so much if you're enjoying the beer garden) next to the M5 motorway junction. Not a great deal can be done about that, but once inside you're a world away. Nice decor, and ambiance made for a lovely evening of good food and drink, all excellently topped off by our hostess, Grace B. The young lady was superb throughout, explaining the menu and choices to us and always with a smile. Like I said, first trip to Millar & Carter, and going by this experience, not our last!

Beth served us and we found her to be friendly, bubbly and conscientious. She made us feel welcome and supported my friend when making her meal choices, based on her allergies. The restaurant was busy and had a great atmosphere. Food was very tasty.

Best meal we’ve had at this Miller and Carter, the food was sublime. Highly recommend the Butcher’s Block. But what made our meal out, was the lovely server Grace B! We were sat in wind of the air con so we asked if she could turn it down slightly for us which Grace did without a worry. Grace was very attentive and explained each meat cooking recommendation for the butcher’s block. Nothing seemed any bother - Thank you Grace B!

Food was delivered quickly and it was tasty. Service was fine, they might have been a bit short staffed that day but the wait for service was longer than the wait for food.

Dined on Thursday 15th Aug 2024 6.30p.m. Bit quiet at first (only 6.30) but soon filled up. Excellent service by Sam, food well cooked , freshly - NOT microwaved. and well presented. Would recommend and will go again.

Hi we visited your Steak House in Taunton Thursday Evening, everything was really good,but unfortunately we had to wait at least 30/40 minutes for our Table,which may have been because they had a busy period around 7.30,so hence we had to wait. We were fine as we got ourselves drinks etc,but then we had to decide what we wanted to eat,making it rather late for us to get our meals to us,hence not eating till 8.45/9.0clock.!! Maybe if this was to happen to another party that has to wait a while,would it not be a good idea for them to be given the Menus to study whilst they wait,and they can choose the food,before they get their table..... Just a suggestion tho.... Kind regards Sylv Dyer

I had the 16oz ribeye steak and I must say it was the best tasting steak I've had in a long time will definitely return

Well what can I say thought I would try this steakhouse & it was anything but very disappointing steak was very overcooked waitress tried telling me that my medium rare fillet was pink it was grey & let’s not forget about the salad a iceberg lettuce cut into four stuck in a bowl as a wedge with the tinniest bit of dressing does not equate as a salad what a joke & if you wanted chips as opposed to the smallest amount of fries you had to pay extra also extra for any other side dish despite charging £34 absolutely disgusting will never return I really did think that a proper steakhouse would know how to cook a steak they didn’t have a clue

We were given a really warm welcome by Grace B and another lady who I don't know the name of! Grace gave advice on what steak to choose and also served us with a smile, thank you!
