Good range of real ale this evening! Marlow brewery, 3 brewers, rebellion etc. Update 01/11/124 poor ale this evening... Landlord, GK IPA 🤮 and Abbots 🤮. Opted for a red wine.. Malbec.. which was nice, but a bit cold.

Been my local 20 years and it been good and bad but this is the worst I've known it. Small fruit juice £4.75! Same for a diet Coke. Food used to be good, but from summer onwards it has fallen away. Chips were undercooked. Onion rings hard. In a 20 min period I saw one lady complain she had asked for lemon and lime and got lemonade. The wrong tonic mixer given to another. One chap complained the beer was flat. Someone got given the wrong drink entirely. The staff I used to trust have all vanished. Board outside says opens at 11am. It doesn't. Hours moved to 11.30am. Extremely underwhelmed by the whole thing. Quite a few murmurings from the locals and noticeably many no longer frequenting the place. Will not be returning for a considerable period of time.

So disappointed been to this pub many times over the 9 years we have lived here. Always been good food and great value for money. Fish was overcooked. Asked for it to be changed but was told the fish has to be cooked to a certain heat and if it was changed the same would come out. Obviously wont be going back

Edited due to the poor reply from the swan team of negative reviews they will reply to all reviews with positive comments anything negative they reply with a sarcastic reply!! Very disappointed today we are regulars here at the swan and spend enough money sat down with the kids for dinner and then staff member came to the table and said kids have to leave by 830pm so basically order your food and leave so we just left!! So u guys have missed out on an order and in future we will not come back for food or drinks I’m super Annoyed as I’m in there so much!! And might I add the place to was empty!! 20th 9th 2024 extremely disappointed!!! Look at all the reviews Any sign of negativity see the swan team’s reply is!!

I've lived locally all my life, and this is now my go to pub. It's vastly improved in the last few years, and food, service and atmosphere are great

Went on Thursday night, Steak Night. They had no steak, or anything else! Place was mobbed with quizzers. Went back following evening and had gammon steak, which was fine. Service was very good.

If you’re a family looking for some food and a nice little drink avoid this place at all cost it’s the worse Iv ever been to. First of all when we arrived we didnt get greeted and when we asked ourselves about the table we previously booked they did not show any interest in interacting with us and basically told us to sit anywhere. The food was below par and the facilities were disgusting, the place as a whole was sticky! Then towards then end of the meal they proceed to come over and nearly shout at us in front of all the other customer that kids have to be gone by half 8, bare in mind it was half 6

If your willing to wait 20 mins for a passave aggressive east European pulled pint while the local old people's home has a day out you should come here around lunch time.... This place is shocking... The kitchen vs bar staff needs looking at. It took 50mins to fry 15 chicken wings.

I have known about the Swan Pub for a while and thought i would give it a visit. Really nice pub and nice atmosphere. The staff were friendly and attentive. The food was very nice. I had the fish and chips. The fish was really good and the batter was delightful. The chips needed more time cooking but other than that I really did enjoy the meal. I will be back again!

What lovely, helpful staff! Just the ticket for the kids after a long day and before a long drive. The katsu was particularly good!

We visited Saturday lunchtime as a large family group aged 2-88. Friendly helpful service throughout from phoning to reserve a table through to the end of the meal. Vivien in particular was most welcoming and nothing was too much trouble. Really varied menu, plenty of options for kids as well as adults, and really good value too. Food was plentiful and delicious, service was prompt and helpful. Great location, perfect for taking the kids across the road to Leavesden Country Park afterwards to play and let off steam. Will definitely be visiting again!

Ordered the lasagne when it arrived it clearly had been put in the microwave to heat up as it was a tad overcooked! Also very disappointed that you no longer stock Schweppes Pink Soda…. Hopefully you’ll re-introduce it as it goes so well with Gin and equally with a glass of Rose…

Bar Staff lack the ability of caring. Toilets were vile and staff didn’t seem to care. I was coming for a meal as I have done many times over the years… not anymore

**The White Swan** This is a great place to give to enjoy a glass of wine beer, gin and spirits. Tea and coffee is made here also. There is a nice large out door space, ample and varied seating inside. The food here is good with a fair direction on the menu and some good opinions for alternative foodies. The prices are reasonable and the beer is fresh. There is a friendly local feel mixed with a slight road house vibe. The atmosphere is friendly thanks to Jo (the bar manager) and her mostly enthusiastic crew. There is a fun Quiz night on Thursday at 8.0pm. Be sure to visit this gem is a pub in Abbott Langley when you are in Hertfordshire. We've been making good use of the beer garden during the summer evenings.

Popular pub, friendly staff, good service.

Most of the group I was with had ordered in advance but the management got a bit confused. All was sorted out amicably enough but it shouldn't have been confusing. The food was OK - pretty standard pub grub and the beer I had was excellent. My all-day breakfast was not large (there was a larger choice availabe o the menu) and the bacon was of rather poor quality. All seemed to enjoy what they had oprdered.

This is a pub near the site where the Number 10 Canadian General Hospital was stationed. We'd heard my father-in-law talk of coming here during the war and wanted to visit. It's been redone so not much like what was here during the war but still neat to visit

Food was good (ordering on the app wasn't great, but not the pubs fault). Didn't have the drinks that I ordered and had paid for so had to have substitutes. Pub wasn't the cleanest, could do with a refurb. Service was quite poor, I had to find our own cutlery and serviettes (in a drawer so not easy to find). Location was good. Could be a stunning pub, just needs a little tlc.

A very enjoyable lunch en famille. The meals were lovely and we were very well looked after. Thank you very much particularly to Vivienne who was kind and sympathetic with a lovely smile. We shall certainly be back!

What a dump. Bar and tables full of empty glasses. Popped in as don’t usually drink here. Thanks for confirming why I usually skip this one. Have watched customers have to clear the tables so they can sit down. Can I have some of the rose tinted glasses the five star reviewers must have been wearing.

Lively family pub with a good atmosphere

Wonderful lunch with family and our dog. We were let down at the last minute by Harvester as would not allow dogs even thought says it dog friendly. I called The Swan it was Sunday lunchtime to see if we could take our dog with us. Not excepting them to say yes or have a table at such sort notice. But I was so surprised when a lovely lady on the other end of the phone said yes of course and we can push table together to accommodate you all ! We had all travelled from across the county to go to the local Crematorium to leave flowers for my mother. I can’t recommend The Swan more highly for friendliness and helpfulness of the lovely staff. The delicious food and family and dog friendly atmosphere. Thank you for making a difficult day earlier very enjoyable later Lynda 🙏

We came here as we were going to Harry Potter and was early. Found a table strait away. We ordered food and said there was a 45 min which wasn’t a problem food came out in 15-20 mins. Food was really good I had the double bacon cheeseburger and my mrs had a lasagne. Both were really delicious. Pleasent staff and a nice vibe to the place.

Sunday Roast lunch menu looks good but unfortunately not too great, meat ok but accompaniments not the best. Yorkshire pudding so hard could not cut. Perhaps caught them on a bad day, hope so.

- do not answer the phone when trying to book. - online system to book does not work effectively - food took over an hour to arrive - big breakfast had nigh on cremated sausages. - messed up and order of chips and said we could take them (put cheese on them by mistake). - very very loud inside. Granted half term, but it just seemed excessive. - absolutely no staff at bar at busy times and till operative taking our order needed to ask for assistance multiple times as did not know standard menu items. - was only one bar staff at peak time. - toilets need upgrading as we're dirty.

A very old coaching inn with lots of atmosphere. Had brother's 50th here. Had buffet food which was good. This pub has function rooms. Small car park at rear but large public long stay car park at riverside meadows, a short walk away. Will go again.

We were in The Swan as they have a live band once a month, normally the last Saturday of the month. A great fun atmosphere with lots of singing and dancing. We didn't eat but the food looked good (others eating near us).

The Lasagne was awful and the fish was over cooked. . Sadly we won't be returning.

A bit of a gem. Regular pub that doesn’t overcharge and has great beer and wine, and fab food. We had the best pub burger ever today (bacon and blue burger). Wow! Amazing, and great value! If you’re doing Harry Potter or something, please give this place a go. Nice dining area, big tv for sports, aircon for the summer and LOVELY staff!

Visited with my son for lunch while he's recovering from his 21st. It was quiet but nice. The two bar staff were very pleasant and friendly. The food was prompt and very tasty. In the past, evening meals there have been a bit hit and miss but we had a very enjoyable bit of father and son time and yes they did check his ID.

Went for food with family and friends, Was not the greatest, poor staff looked overworked but tried their best, I've met the manager 'Gorgi' a few times and is either barking orders or getting off his face on cocaine with other customers, Absolute disgrace!

We went in person to The Swan to book a wake and were greeted by Louisa who booked us in despite having already booked a wake for 50 people. She arranged an area for us with plenty of space. We left with a buffet menu and clear instructions on how much we were to book from each section which we did by email. On the day the food was served just a short time after we arrived, there was plenty of it, it was of a very good quality and enjoyed by all. As there was food left at the end we were provided with boxes to take it home. Overall we were extremely impressed with the service and how they managed to serve us so quickly despite having a much larger party there also. I will definitely consider using them again should I need to in the future. Thank you to Louisa for making a difficult time pass smoothly and to the staff for looking after us.

Attended the regular Speedquizzing quiz on Thursday with the excellent quizmaster Kurtis with the added bonus of the Christmas 3 course dinner. The food was lovely and the quiz was entertaining and challenging. Never a dull night at The Swan and you can’t go wrong with great drinks, food and entertainment (especially the Thursday quiz).

Really lovely festive meal tonight at The Swan Abbots Langley! We had a large party of 13 of us as they catered for us wonderfully! The table presentation was beautiful, the (pre-ordered) courses came out piping hot and all in sync, and the service was great - they checked on us several times. Really recommend a visit 😊 (Esp on a Thursday to take part in the Speedquizzing event too!) Louisa did a fab job of coordinating everything The dishes that got the best feedback were the Mushroom Wellingtons and the burgers - they were delicious! The potatoes, honey roast parsnips and stuffing were also excellent! Skip the turkey…that was the only meal that divided opinions.

the girl with her low rise jeans and hair down came over and slammed our drinks down without saying a word. personally if you serving food and drink i don’t want to see your belly piercing in my face. she then continued to go sit on another table to eat and all i could see was her underwear sticking out of her jeans. manager told us her name was poppy.

Nice open and spacious, foods good, regular events. Lots of outdoor seating although heaters haven't worked for quite a while. Car park, wifi, quiz night, live music once a month.

Lovely staff however the food is only basic. Poor quality chicken tasted like a jelly texture rather than meat, served with slimy salad leaves.

Terrible experience! We were the first people to arrive and to order lunch. The food took 80 minutes to arrive. we ordered one stake (medium) one hunters chicken and two kinds meals. Stake was well done and chips were cold. 3 meals arrived, then another 10 minutes until the last kids meal arrived. We asked the staff who were working how much longer it might be as we had to be somewhere at 2pm, which was a 10 minute drive from the pub we thought that 1 hour 50 minute was more then enough time to order and eat 2 adult meals and 2 small kids meals and potentially dessert and to eat them and enjoy them . Sadly the staff never checked and we then had to eat our food as quick as possible to make it in time.

Great little pub we found whilst driving. Didn't need to book a table which was great as we were both hungry. The food was very nice and came out hot. The pub was very clean and tidy and the staff very pleasant, polite and friendly. Would recommend if in the area.

Haven't been here for a few years due to moving away but came back to the area for the weekend and some celebrations with family. I must say this pub has changed a lot over the years but it has a friendlier atmosphere and better food than its ever had.

The food is OK The steaks was very fatty the mixed grill was ok ish,the place is rotten the men's toilets are a disgrace and disgusting and the smell omg,cobwebs on all the doors,and the whole place needs cleaning and painting

Stained seats, mangled menus. Forgivable, but The Swan should update their kitchen hours on Google (kitchen closes at 8, not 9). Good parking! Wait staff told us right away that we couldn't eat, so we didn't have to wait long.

My son is blind and use the Swan regularly and the food and service there is amazing.

Good food but poor service. Not enough staff in. A chef left due to an emergency but not enough staff to cover. Order through the app but apparantly the kitchen was closed. Decent menu but sadly Buffalo Cauflower spicy has been removed. Buffalo chicken is OK but compared to Ember Inns Buffalo wings, Swans are very average. Friendly people, excellent staff. Def3worth a visit.

We had a lovely evening out here. Jo went over and beyond to accommodate our family of ten. The food was excellent value, the service was brilliant and we had a great evening.

Booked a table for 13 family members for Sunday lunch. As soon as we arrived a wonderful lady called Poppy took charge of us and went above and beyond to meet our many needs. The food was great the service exceptional and we all enjoyed our afternoon.

My wife and i had a Sunday roast today. It was amazing. The food was hot and every element was great. The stuffing, meat, roast potatoes, veg and even a cauliflower cheese that i loved and then ate my wife's. Yorkshire was delicious. Service was brilliant. Good atmosphere and great pub. Loved it. You know it's good when every mouthful is followed by a wow. Good size too. Highly recommended.

Found this pub to pass some time while most of the family did a trip to Harry Potter experience. This is quite a large pub with a good car park that does food. The place was clean and tidy and the decor was good. The ladies serving behind the bar were great and really friendly and it appeared to be a place that the locals love as many were spoken to by name, but they made us outsiders very welcome. I always think having owners or staff like this is makes the experience so much better. They had a good menu but as we were just waiting we only had snacks of the menu but they were really well cooked and came quite quickly.

We had my Mums wake here at the swan, having been let down by another venue. Louisa was brilliant and with only 3 days notice put together a great spread. She really was so helpful and sympathetic to our situation. Louisa Jo and her team looked after us extremely well and made sure everything went smoothly. I only wish I had gone to them in the first place !

Disappointed kitchen closed early didn't let us know till we arrived, got there at 7.15 felt rush and couldn't order desert

First time there, and the place was full and jolly. We dined there and the food was excellent. Would recommend this pub to anyone going to Abbots Langley.

Great place for drinks, but lower ratings as they have the most disgusting toilets I've ever seen doesn't seem like they care either as none of them have been cleaned or fixed in the last year I've been.
