Ate here recently with family. It’s a bit small, only 5 tables. Nice selection of pastries, cakes and a few sandwiches. Service was ok. Pleasant but slow and they messed up a few orders but then righted them. I think one of the girls might have been new. Food was ok. Freshly made or cooked. Limited drink selection, some coffee and teas. Overall not a bad place to grab a bite to eat.

We had all day breakfasts and they were pretty good to be fair. The two ladies who worked there were very friendly and helpful. Service was fairly quick. The man who works there (possibly the owner) however seems quite a grump. One of the ladies told us to put 2 of the tables together due to not having enough room. Once we'd finished eating and I mean pretty much the second I put down my cutlery, the guy comes out and tells his mate that he'll put the table back. Didn't even acknowledge us or ask if it was okay. Not acceptable to be honest and put a bit of a downer on the otherwise pleasant experience. Won't be going back anyway.

We often eat here on our hols and as always did not disappoint! We both had the full breakfast which I believe is freshly cooked and not been sitting on a hot plate all day like many places. The prices are good value for the location and you get a decent amount as well! The Cafe is not very big, and can get very busy as very popular. The food is well worth the wait however, as mentioned I think it is all freshly made. Definitely worth a visit and we will definitely be back!

Our second visit. Last time was just cake and coffee and took ages, but as the cafe was very busy it was understandable. This time it was for breakfast, which took well over half an hour to appear. We were the only customers. Not sure how it's even physically possible to take that long cooking two breakfasts. The food was fine but would have stayed hot longer if served on warm plates.

Thankfully we stumbled across the sunflower cafe and although they were tidying away for the night happily took our order of 6 to eat outside. As we headed home from our weekend away we have a tradition of the good old fish and chips by the sea. Our little fella decided that today we should visit Aberdovey and have fish and chips, now being a Sunday we knew it may be a bit of a long shot but we're always up for detouring to Aberdovey on the way home so off we set. On reaching said destination we found that the doggy fish shop was shut but just a little bit down we found the Sunflower cafe which was open, had chairs and tables outside (much needed as we had our dog)and seemed busy . We ordered fish and chips all-round and boy were we in for treat the jumbo fish finger kids meal was exactly what it suggested as the finger stretched the whole plate and our adult fish and chips were massive as well. The meal was presented in next to time and was lovely and fresh the fish fell apart and the batter was crisped to perfection. The chips looked homemade and we're also perfect. The cafe is for sale and anyone looking for a seaside business should snap it up the staff are efficient and friendly. Will definitelybe returning.

Visit Aberdovey most years and ALWAYS eat here. After a 250 mile journey we treat ourselves to a Sunflower Cafe fry up! We have always found the food very good quality, good portions and good value. I am surprised about some peoples comments about the sausages, I've always found them very nice! ( And bacon to die for!) Yes it can get busy, but thats because its obviously very popular. You do sometimes have to wait but believe the food is cooked fresh rather than many places where the 'All Day Breakfast' has indeed sat there all day! I think the proprietor is just a little serious not rude, I have always found him nothing but friendly and accommodating and will definitely be back!

There was a reassuring wait for the orders showing that everything was freshly cooked. The "mega breakfast" was enormous and wonderful, the "full"had everything you could want and the egg and bacon bap was superb - the bap was just lovely. As a very important added benefit, all the eggs were free range and they are dog friendly too. Was in Aberdyfi again two or three weekends ago and after a walk along the beach called into The Sunflower Café for refreshment. We always have found this a pleasant friendly place to stop and sit outside of on a nice day watching the world go – with a coffee or tea – or a cheese sandwich with a little salad, crisps and a 7up!But all the time I kept looking at the Vegetarian Chilli filled Jacket ‘tater on the menu so this time I chose this! I must have been extra peckish after walking along the Aberdyfi sands! Anyway, when it came I was very happy as it was a planet Jupiter proportioned potato totally smothered in a deluge of chilli. Sitting on an outside table and gorging myself God only knows what the people of Aberdyfi thought seeing me tryna get my gnashers around my spud! But it really was lovely and took me ages to eat!Fantastic - if you’re ever in the area and in need of a nibble, large or small, make sure you visit the Sunflower!

Needed breakfast, we had nothing in so went out for it.First place we went to was charging £7.25 for a full English breakfast which I thought was a bit over the top, but the sunflower Cafe was a good choice. For a full English breakfast of two sausage, two bacon, egg, beans, tomatoes, mushrooms, and two slices of toaster was just under £6 which is a lot cheaper, and it was cooked to order and served hot so there was a little bit of a wait and there was virtually no grease on the plate which is always a positive.Staff are friendly and are always up for a chat and will always help if you have an issue. Have visited the Sunflower Café on a couple of occasions and found it to be really pleasant. The staff have always been very friendly and the café is a fab place to sit outside of on a nice day!Although this time was only a short stop I made a point of checking the menu thoroughly having decided we liked the place so much would use it for a snack sometime soon. I found there to be a selection of breakfasts that are served all day and variety of main meals and light meals available too (the vegetarian chilli is something I’m going to have to go back for). There are also jackets and sandwiches and there’s some meals for children if you have little ones. So a nice range to choose from …… This time however, just grabbed a pot of tea, a Rijo Americano and some things from the cake carousel. Then found chairs and a table in the street outside and watched the world go by. The Sunflower Café is such a nice place to do that!

First impressions very nice, light and airey. Sat there for a few minutes only us and another two couples in. Wasnt sure if it was table service so went and ordered 2 breaded haddock and chips. Asked if they did mushy peas instead of garden peas nope, only garden so had beans instead. Had a pot of tea for 1 and a coke to the total of £16. When the meal came the chips looked liked they had been in and out of the deep fat fryer a few times and some were hollow and really greasy. I struggled at first to find any fish in the oil soaked breaded haddock. All in all i must admit this has got to be the worst fish and chips we have had for years!!, we came out of there fealing rather bilious. On a plus side a group next to us had the big breakfast and looked lovely, wish we had that instead. No wonder they are trying to sell the cafe as we certainly wouldnt go back again...

Nice cooked breakfast, it was full when we visited, so service was a bit slow, considering there was about 3 people serving, but the food was all cooked to order, and you can see it been done, so you knew it was all fresh. Years ago my Mum had toast for breakfast, and it was mouldy, she didn't notice at first but they swopped it and apologised straight away, so apart from that one incident, it's always been a first class meal.

We visited on a quiet sunday morning, having walked the length of the beach we decided to stop in for a cuppa. Reading through the menu we discovered one of my favorites, american pancakes.so naturally i read no further and ordered away. The tea was very nice, however a little lacking on quantity for the price, usually we get around 2 small cups each for the same price, this was just enough for 1 cup each and about half a 1 again, even so it was nice and enjoyable. As others have said here the microwave theme came into play as we heard the ding in the back. The last thing we expected was microwaved american pancakes, they turned out really quite dry, which was relieved a bit by the maple syrup, but the texture was still very dry, The bacon that accompanied them was very nice, but English smoked back bacon and american pancakes is a different combination. (unsmoked streaky bacon is the norm)Note to the owner, please please please try to move away from microwave food. i know it makes things quicker but it will only hurt your business in the long run. you have an amazing location and it could be the best in town.

Stopped off for a cup of tea and spotted there was home made treacle tart. Couldn't resist it - warm with cream. Melted in the mouth, marvellous Cafe well sited facing the sea, it's comfortable and has outside seating. Serves excellent coffee too.

The Sunflower looked really nice and lets face it you couldn't get a better position overlooking the estuary. We decided to have lunch there because the menu looked good (not the cheapest, but 'you get what you pay for' right?) and on the specials board was advertised a mushroom stroganoff with rice and salad at £6.50. Most of our party plummed for that because it sounded really nice.We then watched as the staff fetched the rice in individually wrapped plastic bags out of the freezer and the stroganoff was emptied out of a microwave style container and the whole thing warmed up. When you see something advertised on a specials board you don't expect it to come out of a microwave container or is that what is special about it? The salad was also a poor excuse for a salad and looked like it had just been plonked on the plate.Safe bet is probably a sandwich, they can't mess that up can they?

I was driving by, had little time and needed a coffee and sandwich so I called in here. The person serving was not exactly welcoming but hey it was late in the afternoon and raining, so perhaps it had been a miserable quiet day? I do reflect when leaving a poor review especially when its very likely to impact on somebody’s business and a small one at that, but hey I am the customer and expectations are higher; in all parts of the world. The sandwich I purchased was basic; unimaginative white sliced bread with very little filling. The coffee was watery, weak, lacked any flavour and far too hot; if I had not driven several miles away then I would have returned it. I ended up tipping it away. Apologies to the owner but it’s no wonder the branded coffee chains are now so prevalent, I am afraid they are providing superior products for much the same price.

On a misty and rather cold March day we visited Aberdyfi in mid afternoon. The pubs had finished serving lunch so we found the Sunflower. Food was good and a pleasant view made for a nice visit. Had to correct the gentleman serving as he had under charged us but overall a reasonable place for food during the day

Travelled 2 hours and fancied a nice sit down lunch so decided to visit Davy Jones Locker. We arrived at 11.30 and were told lunch started at 12 so decided to wait 1/2 hour. At exactly 11.59 my husband made his way to the ordering counter to be told he could not order as still not 12. At this point we left as felt the staff member was rude and not very helpful at all - ZERO CUSTOMER SERVICE so will never visit again
