Fantastic wreath making workshop with Rachel who was so lovely! Bargain with carvery and drink included! The only thing I’d say is that the carvery wasn’t hot but it still tasted good!

Not as nice as it was early this year. Food is fairly priced , tasty, hot and served quite quickly. Carvery is very nice and has a great variety of meat veg and trimmings. Most of the staff are great especially Rachel, however an odd one or two can be quite rude.

Booked a carvery for 19 people. It was a Clwyd Alyn work day out for staff that followed a picture hunt round Rhyl. The food was lovely and the carvery meat was really good. Have known carvery meat to be a bit dry sometimes with it being under the lights but it was great and a lot of colleagues commented on this. Your staff were great as always (I come there quite often for a couple of pints). If there was one thing that I would say could improve, it was just the cauliflower cheese. It wan't cheesey to me but that is just personal opinion and if it was more cheesey, other people might not like it. I still ate it all though lol so not really an issue. All in all 10 out of 10. Thanks for a great meal and service from me and all that attended.

Popped in for an early evening meal after a long drive up from somerset, my wife and I went for a hunters chicken meal, chicken was well cooked and chips were crisp and not oily, we were pleased we looked in.

Went for a meal last night. Must say meals have been hit and miss in the past last night was excellent cooked to perfection and service was great.

Went for Sunday carvery. Only given two small slices of meat for standard meal. Usually get 3 decent slices of meat at other carveries for the same price. Disappointed. Was better last time I went there.

Great place for pre theatre meal with good pub food and carvery and polite, efficient staff but be aware that mean Denbighshire CC now make you pay to park!! This means pay to park to eat, they pay again to go to the theatre!! Disgraceful !!!

worst setvice ive ever received,been working away 1st time ive been in for 3 months woww how things have changed,was served by a blond lady quite tall,roughly mid 50s with glasses,never experienced service and attitude like it,no wonder it was dead,premium prices with horrendous service,i will not return.came in on 12/11/2024

Had the carvery. Potatoes were rock hard and yorkshire puddings were tough as well.

My first plate of food looked over cooked well the fish, I could not eat it so I sent it back . The second dish that came out was good. I don't like to complain, but if things are not right, then one should complain. It's how the restaurant deals with your complaint matters. The second dish was perfect, so thank you to the staff for putting things right.

I went here with my partner for his birthday the food was lovely all tables were cleaned the service was great the staff are nice and polite and food came quick loved it here and will definitely come back here more often :)

Overall the experience was excellent. The staff were very friendly and helpful. Prices were reasonable and value for money for portions on what we ordered. The food was very good, although my one complaint is that the steak on both mixed grills that were ordered were over cooked. We ordered one medium-rare and one medium and both arrived medium-well to well cooked. Still perfectly edible, just not as ordered. One suggestion I have is that you add the BBQ steak topper to the mixed grill add on menu. 100% will be returning again- first place I've seen belly pork on offer for the carvery and I hope it's still offered when I next visit.

We were a group of 12 people. The staff were courteous and very helpful and the food was great. Everyone had only positive comments about the quality of the food served. The one point to address is the number of people behind the till, especially in busy times as I had to wait quite a bit even just to place the order. Otherwise all good and will visit again.

The carvary wasn't as good this time .The sprouts were dark green and bitty.The carrots looked dry..My husbands fish snd chips were fantastic though. The service was excellent

Woman on till was totally unacceptable within her demeanour and attitude the company needs to realise we pay good money for this and to be abused by staff for telling my wife the table no, who was talking to her also the food and gravy where cold

Our group had the Sunday roast the food was ok I wouldn't pay extra for pigs in blankets again as they were small and tasteless. We were served quickly due to us going up and having the roast. Downfall was they let people in with dogs and the dog just kept barking so we couldn't relax and talk as we could just hear the dog next to us ( this was not a working dog ) .

Unimpressed ordered 2 coffees on entry never arrived ,carvery meat (beef) neither myself or my wife could cut it tough as old boots , being a party of 7 and spending over £109.00 expect more won't be returning.

3 staff in total, 1 behind bar, 1 serving food, 1 chef. Queue of 15 people, 1 barman doing his best to cope, manager off sick!! Marstons should be ashamed of themselves for cutting back on staff to this level . Many people walked out. REQUIRES IMMEDIATE AND URGENT ATTENTION.45 minutes wait for food after 25 minute queue to order. No tables cleared during our 2 hour visit

I understand it's dog friendly but why would you seat someone with 11 dogs, sorry I will fix my English "why would you seat somone without dogs in a room with 11 dogs in it. To reiterate I never had 11 dogs but there was 11 dogs in that portion of the restaurant

I wouldn’t even serve the food I got from sun verge to a starving dog, disgusting, the cowboy burger was raw in the middle I don’t think a cowboy would even eat it, my friend had a mixed grill the sausage was cremated RIP, they gave us free deserts as an apology NO THANKS.

We visited the Sun Verge today for a family meal. Initially there was a misunderstanding regarding our order, however, the Manager came and explained the mistake to us and offered complimentary drinks. Once sorted the food arrived promptly, tasty and hot. All the staff go above and beyond. I would recommend.

The food was wasn't great at all my teens ordered adult burgers and got about 10 chips that was hard not worth the money I had to cook them something later when home the table was sticky and the toilet's had toilet paper scattered all over the floor unfortunately it's not somewhere I'd recommend

Drove all the way from Liverpool and my sister from Leicester x Booked in the travel lodge opposite x And was hungry so the closest was sun verge x So we both went over to order a carvery don't get me wrong the bar fella was very helpful x But the food was disgusting I got turkey and beef the beef was full of fat and you couldn't even chew the beef so put that to one side started on the turkey and it was so dried up couldn't eat it so I left that to x Started on roast potatoes and they where like rubber the knife wouldn't even cut them x So all I had was the veg by this time veg was cold carvery was put onto a cold plate so everything went cold very quickly x No one even came round to ask was everything OK so I had to take it to the bar I explained everything and I didn't even get a sorry no reply wot so ever x You could see on the plate all I eaten was cold veg x My sisters was the same she had beef and gammon she said she would have to leave the beef as you couldn't eat it x I was fumming cos no one even said sorry x I will never go in there again and if people Shere going in that day nor will them x I heard another couple complained too x

The place is tidy, food is ok, there’s a worker called Steve who’s really funny and nice. All workers are brilliant 👍🏻✨

Came for a birthday meal, was quiet and well lit. Although tables were the horrible sticky wood which was off putting. Food was great, came out fast, well presented and hot. Staff were also very helpful and happy to bring out our birthday cake. Slight issue with ordering through the app but when mentioned, staff managed to get our order quickly. Would recommend based on staff and food

We pre booked a table and were seated in the window facing the sea which was lovely. We ordered and staff were as always friendly and polite and asked it we needed anything else. Starter was lovely and the mains were cooked lovely, hot and tasty. Were were cleared of any mess and asked if we wanted to order more drinks, which we did. My only comment was there were lots of dogs and as much as I love them, we have one at home late in the evening is not for me really-5pm should be the cut off for pets and then not have a smell for a meal. They were all behaved but we had 3 sat next to us. One of our favourite places for a carvery on a Sunday is here and will always return.

I usually ignore reviews and like to try it out for myself. My daughter and I went in just after 2pm. Although there were plenty of people it looked liked they had eaten. We found a table easily so that's what gave it a 1. We were served fairly quickly by a girl with dark hair grey shirt didnt get her name. So that gave it a 2. There were only 2 bar servers and the bar is very big. We were in an organised queue but just after it became chaotic as people were queuing in all areas. We went to the carvery had to wait. My plate wasnt warm at all. The roast potatoes were odd. New potatoes with a slight roast and rock hard 0. Mashed potatoes tasted like smash 0. We waited a good few minutes for gravy and this meant my meal was cold. 0 The gravy was gloopy and didnt taste of meat stock. 0 lastly there were no knives and forks so my daughter went hunting for them.0 In all I waited at the bar because there were only 2 serving 0 I waited for the Carver and had to prompt staff 0. I waited for gravy and had to prompt staff. Had to self serve own cutlery AND last straw no pepper in pot! Will not be going back anytime soon. It's not peak holiday season yet...so how they going to cope.

We were looking for a dog friendly pub and this had a sign outside saying it wasn’t but it is at the back on the carpeted areas, we had drinks and a few starters, lovely food, staff were lovely and even brought the dog a bowl of water, would recommend

Ordered food, steak pie x 2 and chicken masala, 1 steak pie was still frozen in the middle, and 1 steak pie had 1 small piece of meat in. We should've prob just asked for our money back but hey ho

We were walkins and found ourselves a table. Managed to order through the online system which was really straight forward! Drinks were brought out extremely quickly with the food following a very short while after. Food was excellent, very generous portions, not a crumb left! Our server checked in to make sure all was ok, can't fault the service at all. Thanks for a lovely meal!

Terrible experience we went in there mothers day &this miss trunchball told us where to sit !! I can understand that but the same happend today we were told tables were booked !!!! We was in there for over 2 hours &she moved us wen I asked but wen I asked for table we wanted she said no that's booked never asked how long we was estimating to stay or anything !!!all the time we stayed no one sat on that table we ast for &to top it all she brought 2 guys with a dog to table right next to us !!never thought to ask if we was OK with that well my husband is elergic to cats &dogs &has been sneezing &his eyes swole up very unprofessional well I hope u r happy miss trunchball !!!!!

Just returned from a lovely meal at the Sun Verge. My husband & I turned up there at a busy time without booking a table. The lovely young lady behind the bar managed to find us a table. We were then served by another young lady who was also very pleasant. We both had the carvery, which was so good! Beef was cooked to perfection! A huge thank you to the staff for making our visit 1st class.

Best advice I can give about this restaurant is to avoid it at all cost.. Food is cold, waiting time is long. Not value for money. Very dirty place

Met up with friends here and it is very doggie friendly, our boy even had his own menu and we were asked if he required water. Our meals were delicious, plentiful and reasonably priced. We got our car park money refunded at the till and the chap behind the bar was really friendly and helpful. I would eat out here again. Our dog was made welcome but there was also a dog free zone for others to use if they wanted. A first class experience.

It's clear when you enter what you must do to get food- go to the bar with your table number, so my partner (we were a party of two) went to the bar, ordered the carvery and the drinks. When we went to the carvery station, there was no one there. After perhaps 4 or 5 minutes, with a queue of now four people, including a wheelchair user, a server came out and we had a choice of pork, gammon and turkey. We both opted for turkey and pork, the former having a tough, inedible, outer layer (not the skin). The Yorkshire pudding was dry and almost leathery. Some complete arse, another customer, had somehow mixed the mint and apple sauces. It would have been nice to have a choice of lamb or beef on a quiet Monday. The vegetables were perfectly adequate for the carvery price. My main beef (see what I did there?) were 1) indifferent service - end of season is no excuse and 2) poor choice of rather sad meats.

Great place, will be back!! Ted (dog) and I had a great steak perfectly cooked. Staff were friendly and made us feel really welcome. Rachel even recommended some activities in the area that would be suitable for Ted and I. Thank you, see you again next time!!

The food service was extremely fast even though it was busy today, and the food was up to standards.

I'm not usually someone that stops in the "pub" in the middle of the day I tend to go more for a cafe if I'm going to eat out at lunch time. However I was out with my daughter today for the first time since she's had the baby and we had been taking a walk down the promenade, when we saw the sun verge. There were a few young families sat at tables outside and the exterior looked welcoming so my daughter suggested that we should try it out. I was very pleasantly surprised by how clean and fresh the place was, we were welcomed by a member of staff within moments of walking through the door and shown to a very comfortable table. Looking around it was nice to see such a selection of people enjoying their lunch too, from families to a couple of business people. The staff I must say were exceptional considering how busy it was, "Rachel" in particular made me feel so at ease when ordering (because I'm such a fussy eater) my daughter hates when I order my food, but Rachel made me feel totally normal and nothing was too much trouble. So thank you again Rachel for all your help and patience.

Took my wife out for an Anniversary meal at the Sun Verge, great food and atmosphere and Rachel who served us was lovely.

Stopped by with a few friends for lunch and a few drinks, food was great and we had a really good time, we were served by Rachel really helpful, polite and friendly big thank you to her.

Always have the carvery which is good value and quality. Also like the location and the staff are always very helpful and efficient.

First time coming here and definitely will be back. I came here with my boyfriend, I got the fish and chips with mushy peas and he got a large carvery. We got a nachos sharers for a starter and they came out within 10 minutes super happy about that, our server Megan was extremely polite and always had a smile on her face. Carol..the chef cooked my fish to perfection, I asked for not too much batter and she managed to deliver. Finally, the carver Rachel, who served my boyfriend, was extremely kind and was very jolly, always seen with a smile. We never had a problem this whole time we were here and we will definitely be back soon.

Food was beautiful and reasonably priced, only down side was we waited 45 minutes for pudding and our drinks were disposed of while we was waiting, we were told our table was booked for someone else at 7 30 but we still hadn't received puddings.

bad, my review was given to your actual company so I have left details. The food was awful for all of us in the party. Incredibly slow service. Staff not helpful. We gave it a go despite many people leaving the day before saying the as above. 45 minutes for scampi and chips is bad with no apology.

It was a a lovely place to eat. Food was delicious, I had the steak which was cooked perfectly. Prices for food were very fair with the big portions and the staff were very lovely.

Well we just walked in and no tables available but man said we could seat outside which was OK with us ordered food what come wrong and sent back 8 people eaten carvery wasn't the best fatty meat and alot run down had to a wait so food going cold why waiting for more stuff come out plus we ordered at table but still had to come in side for get are drinks and carvery tickets A waste of time ordering at the table as still had to come in get stuff

We was very upset disappointed with this pub why call it dog freindly .we was staying in lodge in Ruthin decided to come into Rhyl for the day with 6 Adults 2 Dogs .we parked our cars on the pub car park 3 cars £5 each thought take dogs for walk to tirer them out before a meal in the pub was told you can eat in their get your £5 back as my daughter went in to book table for later the woman behind the bar was rude said yes dogs can come In but no barking no jumping on furniture definitely no wet dogs well that was that we decided not to eat their lost our £5 deposits .how can this pub be dog freidly if dogs are not allowed to bark .I wudnt let my dog jump on furniture let alone bring him in wet her attitude was horrible Dogs bark lost our costume won't ever be back

Ok we booked a table for 3 people at 4.45 , on arrival there were dirty tables everywhere , I spoken to a member of staff to say we had booked a table for 3 people unfortunately now there was only 2vof us , she refused to give us our reserved table yet there was lots empty and pointed to the area with minimal space and dirty tables then said or sit outside . We did question our original booking but got tutted at and we just left . We had a similar experience before but thought we would give you a 2nd chance but never again . I'm local and will never return .

Worst fish I've had in any pub/ restaurant.

Booked a table for 17 young people with SEND. All staff were absolutely fabulous, accommodated us fantastically. Food was excellent. No issues, nothing was too much for the staff. Definitely recommend. Thank you for a lovely meal! We all very much enjoyed every moment
