Costa Coffee in Denbighshire

Started Popping into the branch more often recently. Staff are always pleasant and enjoy a bit of banter and conversation with each other Very Popular branch with Locals and passers by. Tidy and well kept. No issues with the layout etc.

COSTA Rip Off Been a customer here for a long time but in the recent past have seen a steady rise in prices to unacceptable levels with no investment inside the café, it’s becoming uninviting and grubby. Feel sorry for the staff who are great. The last straw for me was a small hot chocolate for my granddaughter, £4.00, and an additional 50p for 3 marshmallows!!, will be looking for alternatives, Café R in the craft centre comes to mind.

Where to start... very disappointed. Rude staff. Verbal abuse. Unclean. Wrong order. I wanted a vanilla iced latte and I got a plain iced latte. WTF!!! Never going again only if I am desperate since there is no Starbucks in Ruthin. But preferably going to stick with Tesco to get an iced coffee but ONLY THE STARBUCKS ONE. Sort the staff out please, maybe next time check your attitude instead complaining about us wanting a takeaway cup. Also check your ears because I asked for iced Vanilla Latte not plain. thanks

Firstly, the room was damp and had an unpleasant aroma which was not appreciated. SECONDLY, the woman serving me seemed to have a problem with me from the very beginning. Thirdly, when I asked for a takeaway cup I was verbally abused and this took a toll on my fabulous mood that wonderful sunny morning. This was completely unacceptable customer service please sort that woman out Thank you x

Funny how my review had been removed. In how rude a member of staff is. And how much personal life was up for discussion If I can rate a 0* I would. I refuse to go in rather go else where for drinks can't see why my personal life got to do with anyone else. Just remember it me paying Ur wages without customer u haven't got a job the hot chocolate was cold anyway and didn't taste like a hot chocolate hence why I've not returned latte the same I'm like wow swearing in front of customers is another reason not to go back

Can't see why my personal life and who my daughter father has got to do with staff and customers. It is private for a reason yes I know who he is and he not from this area so keep my name and my daughter name out of the conversation at Costa absolutely disgusting to get told to fxxk off by staff when asked how the conversation started. Not professional at all.

Pop in every now and then. Always greeted with a smile and one of the staff adores my two young kids. Millionares shortbread is ace and sausage baps decent. Shame about the ice machine being out of order. Kudos to the manager. She works very hard.

One of the staff had a chip on her shoulder when I asked if the cortado could be made hotter. It's a shame as the other staff made it the coffee nice and hot.

This particular branch of Costa was the cleanest I have ever been in. As soon as anybody left a table it was thoroughly cleaned, not just given a cursory wipe over. Well done to the staff.

I love sitting in this particular Costa, in the centre of the old town in Ruthin. Ok, it's a chain coffee store, and the menu is the menu. But two things make it a treat. One is the staff and the way it's run. The team who have the franchise are always so happy! All of the staff seem genuinely to be having a good day. Every day. So the coffee and the atmosphere is great. There are a few coffee shops and tea rooms in Ruthin, it's a beautiful town, very busy in the summer. But the local community choose this as their favourite or regular coffee place. Groups of friends, from retirees to Mum's and babies. Weekly local meetings and tourists enjoying the suntrap and views. It's just a cheerful spot. The second reason I love it in here are those views. Look left up into the historic market town square. Look across from this hilltop towards Moel Famau, the highest point on Offas Dyke. Or look ahead onto the old Castle hotel and it's Georgian edifice. Come for the coffee. Stay for the warm cheerful atmosphere and attention to detail from the staff.

Usualy would only visit on bank holiday's when my usual cafe was shut.I would alway's enjoy my visit.They specialise in their coffee.My favorite is Saulted Caramel Lattee.There various cold drinks with fresh cream etc (can't remember their official titles)are a treat. Since about a month I have been visiting about three times a week,due to rude staff in an other cafe I went every day !Good ,lovely friendly staff who seem glad to see you,especially Vicky,who sadly has left for some where else ! The beginig of last year I accidently left my credit card there.Went into a panic when I realised I 'd lost it.Had it cancelled in the bank.Visited three day's later and the pleasant honest member of staff who served me on the previous vist handed back my card !! I was very impressed by her honesty and thanked her for it (and being honest )Not sure of her name,but she lived in Rhyl.

Its a Costa but a nice one with friendly staff

Staff were very helpful and friendly. Café was clean, well presented and the food/drinks were hot and well cooked/prepared. Spent a really pleasant hour with other friendly people. All in all an excellent time.

Coffee still expensive, only went because of a free one.

Should get the front door mended it doesn't swing shut leaving the place cold.

Unfortunately massive let down today! My hot chocolate was only slightly warm. Lots of dirty tables with dirty dishes and trays!! Would have expected better in a Costa! Meybe they forgot about covid some young children moved dirty dishes from one table to another! And used a table that wasn't clean!

The girls did a great job, unfortunately they had someone call in sick and the 2 girls worked tirelessly to keep up with the flow of customers while we enjoyed our coffees and cakes.

My first time in s Costa coffee cafe. I had a pot of tea, and it was fine. The washroom was clean. Would use this cafe again.

I am a regular customer at Costa Coffee in Ruthin and I find the restaurant clean, the service good and the staff pleasant and friendly. Costa in Ruthin is strongly recommended by me.

Once again we had great coffee.

This is a well ran, clean and friendly Costa coffee shop that has a cosy local feel. This fits in nicely with the feel of the town. The staff are also currently digging out blind to keep the environment Covid safe for everyone. Thank you Costa Ruthin.

Popped into Ruthin Costa Coffee today enroute home and sat having a delicious bite and Latté. I have to say the staff were a real joy and I sat and watched how they really chatted and interacted with their customers from noth ends of the age scale, looking after a cute elderly couple, including one little girl thinking one member was Santa! Great beard!!Having worked in the Travel Industry, including Hospitality and Leisure for nearly 30 years on and off and today for a top Leisure company, I just had to have a quick chat with them and just praise and compliment the young gent and his colleagues, as it was just a pleasure to see it.....well done!!! It's so easy to complain but rare to praise and commend those who serve us!! Costa uou should be so proud of your staff in Ruthin and for one young girl she thought Santa was giving her cake!! Thanks for brightening up my day!

Not been here before but had a meeting in Ruthin and went for coffee with colleagues. Very impressed with the set up and the excellent staff . Fast and very friendly service. Will go again when in the area.

I called in Costa Ruthin this morning. The café has a very welcoming ambience, the staff are friendly and very efficient. There is a good mix of seating, the tables were clean and the counter well stocked with appetizing food. The coffee, as always, is good quality.I will certainly call here again when next in Ruthin.

Called in on our way through Ruthin before our Yoga Retreat on Friday 27th September at around 1.30pm, as we approached the counter we were greeted by a very smiley and happy young man (think he was called Phil?? he had just become a father we later learned) anyway, he welcomed us with passion and took our orders, he really seemed to be enjoying his job and was polite, friendly and well presented; further customers were equally greeted with a smile, nothing seemed to be too much trouble.Will definitely call again if ever in the area agan.

Called in to this Costa for a cappuccino and a bite one lunch time.Large store for a smallish town, but whilst not overly busy with ‘sit in’s’ there seemed to be plenty of take out customers.Friendly staff and good service.If the Costa everyday coffee blend is your thing this is a good outlet!

Popped in for a bit of lunch with my husband and my 1 and 3 year old. Very friendly and brilliant with the kids . The male barista even put a chocolate frog on my sons baby chino !!

Had usual flat whites; did not eat. Unfortunately the costa gizmo not working in the shop (was looking forward to using it as had only just bothered to download it). Glitches happen. Decor as to be expected. I do wish they all would upgrade their toilets, they always feel dirty. The manager (?) was a great guy. I must admit, the majority of staff around the county in Costas appear miserable (I do think due to the snowflake generation in the main), but he broke the mould. We chatted at our table about all and everything, great customer service.

Visited here passing through on a day out with the family, Greeted and served by Beth and Paul Who were both a great laugh while serving myself and my dad. Drinks all around were spot on and will 100% come back again if passing through.

I came here this morning with my 8 year old son (9.30am, Wed 14th Aug). We received outstanding service. Super friendly and super helpful with suggestions and tailoring of our drinks to make it perfect! The two baristas are a real credit to Costa. Hope we see them again soon.

Lovely friendly service, the girls go a little extra distance to help. Had the regular caramelised orange latte, it was spot on!

A regular 'haunt', friendly, efficient and clean.

Plenty of seating and staff so was served quickly. I did sit inside but got my hot chocolate in a paper take away cup as they didn't have large cups which wasn't ideal. Otherwise very good.

This spacious outlet on Market Street, off St peter's Square in Ruthin's town centre, is one of the first doors to open for trade in town. Coincidentally, so is Wetherspoon's "Ruthin Castle" across the road. While Wetherspoons relies on a more self service approach, Costa's Barista service carries the day for a no-fuss morning option. There is ample seating and Costa is situated close enough to the town's main bus stops to give early morning public transport users a chance for a coffee to go before catching their buses. Cleanly appointed, good service.

We came as a party of eight. Standard service, nothing special but ok. Nice coffees, decor was fine. Seating was fine, there was a mix of different tables and chairs. No music was playing at the time of our visit (mid-afternoon) which i prefer. The only negative i found was that despite the shop being fairly empty at the time there was no farewell greeting as we were leaving but i guess that is chain shops for you. Would i return? Yes but as a test to see if the customer service is better next time around.

In this quiet little town on a Sunday with most of the shops around the square closed, it was a joy to find this small Costa, the staff friendly and engaging, coffee good. The restaurant warm and inviting with a table by the window to watch the world go by whilst waiting for our hotel booking in time.

This is what happens when you have a day out with your elderly parents who have a penchant for chain store eateries with the misguided belief that they will be uniform across the country and serve good coffee. Wrong!

I only came here because Cafe wasn't open Denbighshire council take note I would sooner spend my money so that it goes back in the community rather than pay shareholders of a multi national company that's the only reason I used Costa I don't like there coffee

Good spot for coffee in Ruthin.There was plenty of sitting room here and thereis free wifi.Seats are comfortable,so a good place to relax for awhile.

As any Costa really, a bit messy and pricey but coffee is ok and staff are friendly and helpful.

We visit here when we are on holiday in Wales. The food and drink is Costa standard but the music is very loud and we have to shout over it. It does spoil the atmosphere.

Staff here are always very helpful and friendly. The toilets are always spotlessly clean. Wheelchair accessible and they have highchairs too

Visited here recently for take away drinks. The staff on duty were so happy and cheerful it was a joy to visit. They really were feeling the ‘love’. I will definately visit again very soon, thanks guys, you cheered up my day! X

I always enjoy my visit to this Costa, staff are friendly and engaging. If things occasionally don't work. That is down to the franchise owners not the staff. The guys and girls do a great job. And they put up with my banter! Which is no mean feat:)

Loudest music of any Costa I’ve been in, which was unusual for 9.45am on a Monday. Seemed totally in appropriate for the time of day and clientele.

We have previously stopped here for a coffee and thought it was good, but on this occasion I thought we received average service. The staff were quite happy to chats to each other as I was waiting to be served. When I handed my own cup for a cappuccino, the servers facial expression as she took the cup from me and then peered inside it made me feel like I’d asked for something she disliked!

Good coffee, cheerful, friendly staff.

Large interior but dull, scruffy and generally unwelcoming. Staff need to brighten up their act and chat to the customers and less amongst themselves. Drinks were up to standard but not a pleasant atmosphere.

Fairly large seating area and very nice staff. Wasn't too busy either.
