We were staying over the road from The Sun and stopped in for a drink on Saturday. While we were there, we made a reservation to eat on Bank Holiday Monday evening. Unfortunately the weather was so bad that our reservation (which was outside due to current restrictions) had to be cancelled. So we ordered takeaway chicken madras and chilli, both of which were delicious. Staff were friendly and we would definitely go back if we were in the area again. Thank you!

Having spent a few days in Tenby, we decided to venture to a small country / village pub rather than a tourist attraction.Found this on tripadvisor so we thought we'd give it a go.Outside seemed ok, nice little village. We walked in and shown to our table which was just under the dart board on a bench seat. Not the best positon, however not a problem. The problem being the 4 or 5 people stood up right next to the table, talking and laughing as loud as they could. We was a bit off-putting when your trying to have a quiet chat.Everytime i went to the bar or toilet, i had to squeeze by. With the current 'Covid' situation you would have thought the land lady would have been more 'on the ball'.This is where we found out the loudest one of the group was in fact the landlady!Eventually they dispersed, peace!Starter was Ok, 6/10, spoilt by the constant noise.Had the steak which i must say was very nice, with the added pleasure of minimal noise! Then as we are finishing our main courses some local 20 something's turn up shouting, swearing and generally causing a nuisance at the bar.3 people to my knowledge, including myself complained, in which one couple left without orderering. You would think the staff would ask for them to calm down and stop shouting / swearing, unfortunately not as he was their mate!Ok, it's turning into an evening not as expected. We decided what the hell, let's have a desert before we leave.Go to the bar to be told, sorry mate kitchen's closed.Ok i know there is a cut off time, however surely you mention to paying / eating guests that the kitchen is closing do you want anything else!I'm not a prude, a builder by trade, however there is a time and place for everything.Could be a great pub, think the owner's need to decide if it's a drinking pub or food pub.Food ok, atmosphere shocking.

We used to enjoy this pub when we came to the area for holidays. Now we live here and love having the Sun as our local because it has a really friendly atmosphere, excellent service, Double Dragon and interesting gins as well as good food. Our son and his girlfriend and other family and friends love it when they visit. We look forward to taking our daughter and her boyfriend there in the near future.Quiz night is always good and we are looking forward to open mic night.

Loved this pub on visit earlier in summer so went back early first night of a week in St Florence but unfortunately no tables for dinner due to Eat Out to Help Out bookings so earliest we could go was the Thursday, the last night of our holiday. Food was really delicious - I had curry and my kid had a tuna mayo jacket potato. Lovely staff. Shame we could only eat there the once.

Instantly when we walked through the door we felt instantly welcome . Great choice of food on the menu and choice of daily specials. The staff were extremely attentive and working really hard .My daughter ordered the Nacho's as a starter they were absolutely delicious My main course I ordered the steak which was so tender my daughters folk kept coming over stealing things off my plate which made me chuckle . Every meal we saw come out of the kitchen looked of high quality. I would certainly recommend here to everyone and will certainly return again in the near future

I spent last week in St Florence, and visited this pub almost daily. The staff went out of their way to make us feel welcome, and the landlord (Adam) went above and beyond for us. The food was exceptional, and the service in making sure we always had a table in front of the TV to watch the football was much appreciated.

Very much has the feel of a locals’ pub - but one that crucially welcomes visitors to the village. Food was very good - and yes we ate upstairs like the other reviewer, and ordered downstairs but these are not normal times and the staff are clearly trying hard to balance restrictions with giving a warm welcome. All in all, a fun evening and good, tasty food - would definitely return.

Family of 5 booked in for evening meal. Pub was quiet but told to go up a very steep flight of stairs to find a table. We found a grubby table and waited for service. Fed up of waiting we sought out menus from downstairs and were told to go back down the grubby stairs to place our drinks and meal orders. So we made our choices from a lovely menu then trailed up and down the stairs to place the food orders and bring drinks up. Then joined by a family and their dog. They had spent the day on the beach and the dog was soaking wet and covered in sand. The smell of wet dog was appalling but not noticed by staff as not one came up the stairs! Over an hour later the food was served. All meals were missing the salad. When the waiter was asked about the same, he returned with a single tiny pot which contained a bit of shredded lettuce and half a tomato. Food was very tasty. Front of house service was lousy. We felt unwelcome and will not be returning.

We live here, the Sun is a part of this village and has been a "local" for over 300 years, Anne and Tom allowed our daughter to hijack the weekly quiz and threw in a bottle of Scotch as a raffle prize...£60 will now go to a Cancer hospital in Cardiff. I meet visitors here that return year after year and they are greeted as old friends. Always a good local ale on tap. There are not too many pubs like this one left now.

This is an old fashion style pub with a real friendly welcome, great atmosphere, everyone talks to you making you feel at home. It is a shame more pubs are not like this. The food is good pub grub, I had the steak wow other than at home it is the best I have had in years, the steak pie could do with more meat in it still it is above average than what you will find else where. My wife had seabass with vegetables and new potatoes.Tommy and Ann are salt of the earth people and run a great village pub, they greet with a smile and genuine warm welcome. If you are in the area do not give this pub a miss, it is well worth going out of your way to visit this exceptional pub.

Crowded when we arrived at 6.30 on Sunday. Well-kept Felinfoel Double Dragon was main attraction. The meals are from freezer. Fish and chips greasy and batter came away like a sleeve. Partner's pie looked and tasted OK but a bit anemic and crusty. Dogs allowed which is not to everyone's taste but quite common in Pembrokeshire it seems.

What a gem of a find. A very traditional pub with friendly bar staff and locals. The drinks were very reasonable, three pints of beer for just over £10 and a bottle of drinkable wine for £12. A large menu catered for all tastes ranging from traditional pub fair to curry’s. I opted for faggots chips and peas and my husband had chicken curry chips and rice. Both were good portions and very tasty. The dessert menu had all your old favourites, crumbles, pies , cakes and ice creams. We opted for syrup sponge and ice cream, delicious . We immediately booked up again for tonight as it was too good not too!

We went here on Easter Saturday and unfortunately there was only one young chap behind the bar trying to serve drinks and take some food orders. We had a meal which was quite nice and service was good but trying to get a second drink too an age. I don’t mind waiting in a queue but I do object to queue jumpers. The locals put pressure on the young bar man to serve them first . If they can exist on local business only that’s good but any tourists like myself won’t be returning. Drive the extra few miles into Tenby and get served via an orderly queue.

Returned from St Florence today after a short break there. Charming village. The food served is typical of "pub grub". A decent selection, with reasonable prices. I found the staff to be friendly and approachable. The beer was good and a reasonable price. There was a good friendly atmosphere on each of the three consecutive afternoons we went there. It is an 18th century building with a large amount of very old tools, lamps etc etc hanging from the ceiling. It was very clean too. It is very definitely to be recommended. We look forward to our next visit. Thank you all. Sean & Paula Roche

My friend complained to manager downstairs who didn't seem to have any idea what was going on in the upstairs eating area. My partner was the o e who had to wait half hr after everyone else for his food and it turned out yo be a pre-prepared curry which had obviously just been put in the microwave - however it was not properly cooked and he was sick all night and the following day after it.. This started within half an hour of eating it. Definitely somewhere to avoid if you value your hard earned time away.

It was a bit of a surprise to walk in on a Monday evening to find a nearly full room but once we'd been here a while we could understand why.First a few decent beers to choose from and then a menu with something for most people. The 16oz rump steak was tempting but instead we opted for the steak and scampi and a very enjoyable choice this was with both meals being cooked as requested. As the couple next to us finished before our meal had been served we quickly switched tables for a better position but this didn't cause any problems to the service. This might be a pub for the locals but it's also for anyone else looking for good beer, good food and good value.

We visited twice whilst staying in St. Florence, and it suited our purposes. There were 10 of us, ranging from grandparents, parents, to kids aged 3-7. We were seated upstairs both times, and fortunately, this meant we weren't disturbing any other customers. The food and drinks were fine, nothing fancy, but perfectly good for the price. The lady on the bar at the start of the holiday was terrifying, quite frankly, but the lady who we dealt with on our second visit couldn't have been nicer! Service was prompt, efficient, and polite. It's not a fancy/gastro joint, but it certainly serves a purpose!

We had a lovely meal for 3, good sized portions all freshly cooked; reasonable prices. Friendly bar staff and locals, beautiful location, chock full of character - definitely recommend a visit if you're in the Tenby area.

Cosy pub with a good chef providing honest well cooked grub - splendid open mic evening on Thursday and Europa League football too. Went back twice but still didn't try the 7.2 cider! Most enjoyable!

Great little pub with character, good food at reasonable prices for a holiday area. Had a fun if very strange Pub Quiz evening although the owner was VERY biased against English people finding them the hardest questions!!! Despite this we had a good night and a good laugh.

What a fantastic character filled, fun, and truly brilliant public house. There are not many places like the Sun left these days. Long may it last, I love it.

We have just had a 4 night break in Pembrokeshire and we stayed in St Florence.I'm really pleased that we found The Sun Inn which is in the village and we ate there twice during our stay. The pub was really cosy, there was a friendly atmosphere and we were made to feel very welcome. The food on both occasions was really good and we thoroughly enjoyed our meals. If you find yourself in St Florence or the surrounding area we would definitely recommend a visit to The Sun Inn.

Been going in this pub for a good few years, every time we`re on holiday in the area. Tom and Anne have made us feel welcome from the first time we went in. They make every one feel welcome . The pub has got a lots of charm and lots of character, there is so much to see inside the pub . There is a very good menu and I`ve heard good reports but we hav`nt eaten there as yet. Quiz night is an experience. Tom must be one of the most entertaining quiz masters you could ever meet. It brings locals and tourist together promoting a good community pub. Try it, its worth it .

Food was decent and the atmosphere was good even though not full. I'm sure it would be better if anyone was playing the instruments that are on show. The service was brilliant. The staff couldn't do e
