We had an event at The Strafford and it was perfect. The team were very helpful throughout the planning and especially on the day. The food was plentiful and setting was great- lots of space, both indoor and outdoor and kids were happy to play in the playground. Would recommend!

A nice place to stop and have a little bit of dinner if the weather is nice good seating area in the garden if it’s raining there is a nice covered area outside where you can eat I would recommend this pub.

Came for the football. Pub is a great size with a large garden, plenty of seats throughout. Was clean and very well presented. Staff were smiley, chatty and polite. Good prices for beer and food! I bought the beef burger and it was delicious. Good size, filling, flavoursome, good bacon too! I was asked if I want chunky or skinny fries (chunky!!!!) and they were spot on! Fluffy on the inside, crisp on the out. Defo be back!

I visit every Wednesday for a quick drink and is a lovely place.

Absolutely the worst meal ever . I had the Chicken Burger …. Burnt was an understatement and the fries were cold … My partner had the haddock and the soggy batter was absolutely grim …. Never again will I eat there

We had a baby shower here 20/04/2024. From arrival to departure Helen, Debbie and Amy were absolutely fantastic, lovely and nothing was too much trouble. They allowed us to decorate, due to the number of guests, they put out free tea/coffee for all to help themselves. Allowed us a huge amount of room to play games and allow all to mingle. The food was perfect and came out all at the same time - there were over 30 separates dishes, so chef, kitchen staff amazing also! You were all so amazing and helpful. Thank you 😊

Nice big pub, clean, well looked after. The outdoor space when the weather is good is fantastic. Nice pint of Guinness. The food is very nice and I’ve had nothing to complain about. The pizzas are very nice, the bases are tasty, bubbly and well baked. If I can recommend one thing, the buffalo wings. I’ve had some great wings in America and using those as a comparison, they are as good and some of the best I’ve had in the UK. Highly recommended.

Lovely local pub, with a great garden, special in the summer, but also covered and heated section. Nice stuff, great atmosphere in the weekend evenings.

Fantastic atmosphere at the Soul Day yesterday. Bringing people together, met people I haven't seen for years. Thanks to the wonderful manager for making this happen.

We had a lovely Sunday lunch, massive yorkshire pudding, & very tender juicy beef plus home made gravy. Large garden & terrace area part covered, the pub offers various events live music, family days etc. Would go again, very helpful staff who looked after us well. Top Marks to the chef food is really good cheers.

First time here, great traditional pub, great covered outdoor area and garden . Menu was really varied and value for money. The fish and chips were excellent. Will definitely return.

I have been here for the second time this week. The first time, I had the Strafford burger, that was superb. Absolutely delicious. The exact right amount of all ingredients, including the cheese, was spot on. The fries were skinny but they were great, not complaining. The second visit I tried their fish and chips. The batter held the fish together nicely and once you take a bite, the fish will melt in your mouth. The amount of tartar sauce was good and you were given a small pot of mushy peas...which I hadn't had in years. But were super nice here. I will be in the area of the next week and intend on going again, just to see what else I want to try.

We stopped in to see if we needed to reserve a table as visiting this area, Toni , Toni with an I - 😁 the manager/owner gave us a lovely warm welcome and toured us around the venue. This place is lovely- great friendly staff and amazing good value for money food. Thanks again for the lovely welcoming.

Really great, large pub located in Potters Bar. We came on Sunday for a roast on Easter with a large group and our dog. They have a great beer garden in the back which is lovely for a sunny day. My husband and I both got the vegetarian nut roast which my husband absolutely loved. Everything about this roast is great, and all the veg options you get is good. The Yorkshire pudding is also delicious! However, my nut roast had a large clump of spices that didn’t get mixed in properly and that’s unfortunately all I could taste and overpowered the whole dish. I think that it would have been really great had that not been a problem. Overall, a great pub with a lot of roast options and a pretty solid menu in total. Definitely worth a visit for a pint or a meal!

Great pub with a lovely family atmosphere. The Sunday Roast was great, we had a large table today and they were really accommodating, even doing their best to give us longer and moving around some reservations so everyone was happy. Top class. The roast was great too. I had the Beef, highly recommend. All around great experience.

Lovely staff, friendly, reasonably priced, large covered area, large garden, clean and the toilets were immaculate.

My visit to the Strafford Arms was dominated by some pleasant interaction with Barman Will. He was a polite and obliging young man. We talked about the live Merseyside Derby about to start and I was surprised to see so few patrona attending He expected more for Manchester Citys live outing at 5.30. I was very tired having walked from Potters Bar railway station and was grateful fir a rest and sift drink before kick off. I had travelled down by train from Durhsm.esroer in the day and was eventually en route to house party in Southgate , London. Will very kindly phoned a taxi for me to get to the Premier Inn South Mimms which I had booked in to for just the Saturday night. His mobile phone was able to track the movements of the taxi and allow me time to prepare myself for leaving the pub on time. Good work and best wishes Will ELLIS COXON

Am unexpectedly surprising pub in potters part, the out for space is massive and looks amazing. Good choice of drinks with take friendly staff. Didn't get to treat the food but the menu looked good, will definitely go back to try the food. Nice place to do and have a drink.

I recently visited the Strafford Arms a few morning last week after finishing my night shifts and have to say very nice pub with very pleasant polite staff. Unfortunately your pub is being let down by your cleaning staff if that's what you can call them. Each time I went in the tables hadn't been cleaned properly, the toilets smelt, no toilet paper and feet sticking to the floor. When I jokingly asked if the cleaner did any work the staff member replied Amber does as little as possible, laugh. Not very good really as there are plenty of people looking for work or a second job.

I used to love this pub. Unfortunately, on Monday I arrived for my sons birthday party (which had been booked in for months), only to be told someone had cancelled it. Mason (one of the bar staff) was a diamond. He helped me move furniture and got our food etc. Apparently food etc was meant to be discussed prior.. this didn’t happen. There was clearly no on shift manager, which was strange to see. I was offered no apology from the manager. When the evening shift started, one of the bar staff, Abby, was dressed so inappropriately I thought she wasn’t on shift until she brought my food out. She had her midriff showing, white trainers and a mini skirt on. I could see her bottom when she bent over. She clearly has a problem with me as she made it a point to turn and stare at me when walking past. Not a good look for a “family friendly” pub

Children friendly and very busy, shame car park not big enough and only 1 disabled parking spot which was taken with no one displaying their badge 🤔

Nice atmosphere and good food. Nice selection of gins and tonics. Fabulous outdoor space but not a lot of parking.

Lovely place with lots of space inside and outside. The food is also very tasty and fresh. We really enjoyed our fish and chips and half chicken mains. Recommended place.

Lovely pub and bigger than I thought. Lunch menu didn't have much on it and my colleague was disappointed as she wanted a ploughman's but none on there. The wrap we had was nice but pub was very busy and service was slow.

First time visiting the pub. Definitely a very nice place, especially the 2 decks and the small kids playground. Friendly staff as well. Unfortunately our Sunday roast - caused me and my wife one of the worst food poisoning of my life. Not sure if it was just bad luck? The chicken was bad? But we really suffered 1-2 hours after our lunch. What can i say...

Nice place but the staff and the people that go there are rude

7 adults + infant and baby had Mother's Day lunch. The place was crowded and our service was very slow. But we all enjoyed the food. The pub has a really large garden with a pretty good play area with a decent slide, etc. A really facility if you have young kids. Staff were very nice. Will return on a quieter day!

Had a great christening party for my granddaughter's. Food was amazing. Atmosphere was perfect. The manager couldn't do enough for us. Checking if all was ok, if we needed anything else. She was amazing. The amazing play area for the kids was a god send. Kept them busy and parents could enjoy the party. Would highly recommend

Staff totally disinterested in serving so off somewhere else to eat. App wanted so much info to order £11 Nachos that I gave up and will again take my custom elsewhere. Will not be returning despite the response here. You get one chance to make a good impression and mine was of tardy staff and overpriced food. Update : Friends event meant I had to return. Funny thing is so have the coke heads in the toilets ! What a dive !

We reserved a table of 14 people, it was a lovely setting and nice staff members. Everyone's food came at different times unfortunately and with that some issues with the food, however I did acknowledge that it was busy and the management did try there best to resolve most issues. The place is accessible for wheelchair users and has disabled toilets, kids menu, and baby changing room in disabled toilets, Sunday roast, live Football, dogs allowed, has a lovely back garden area, smoking area, cooks, they take reservation bookings, Cash and card payments available, car parking area located in the front.

Fantastic pub, friendly staff and quick service. Food served. Plenty of space, outdoor area for smoking and summer/appropriate weather, screens for football and sport. Cracking quiz on a Wednesday night with a cash prize for 1st place, and meal vouchers and wine for 2nd and 3rd!

We were at The Strafford on Saturday for a large gathering and I just wanted to thank Alex and the rest of his staff who were very welcoming and accommodating. The staff were efficient and provided a great service. The added bonus was the play area outside which the children really enjoyed. Thanks again.
