I asked to book a private room here. We settled on a time and date. I asked if the booking was confirmed but the staff member I was speaking to ghosted me. I tried to follow-up but didn't get a response. I thought that was kinda rude 😭😭🤣

Really loved this place. The vibe was so nice. Great cocktails and the mains were half price! Not sure if that's because we were there on a Thursday but that was a huge plus. It wasn't gourmet but it was still delicious

Nice atmosphere but the Sunday lunch was awful, the roast beef had clearly been pre cut then grilled to be heated and plated up. The amount of gristle in the meat was disappointing. We had a boa bun starter which clearly lacked any influence from Asia with some fried chicken and a slice of cucumber thrown into a bun and saturated with some flying goose. This place hardly has the influence of a chef.

Beautiful restaurant, the food was really nice, I was with a party of five and we tried a lot of the menu, everyone was happy! I had the cod and it was my favourite dish

We came to The Store for Lunch on the Saturday. At the back of the store they were hosting a party and had one server on the front of the restaurant tending to 4 large groups and several small groups all by herself. Unfortunately it looked like she was trying her best but it took us a long time to be even noticed by her, we had read the whole menu 4 times before we were even noticed at the front of the restaurant. We sat down and then read the menu another 4 times before deciding that it wasn’t worth the waiting time to order let along wait for drinks, food and the bill. If you’re going to host big events, then you shouldn’t let it detriment your normal customers. Put more staff on the Store floor if you’re having events. We will try again sometime, and if the service has improved then I will edit/delete this review. At the time of writing this is our opinion.

The atmosphere in the Store was nice and it’s beautifully designed. We came for brunch and the food and service were both quite disappointing. The food was very small portions for the pricing and the quality wasn’t particularly great compared to other brunch spots I’ve been to in the area. Much of our table left feeling quite hungry. We had an offer for half price for mains and I felt that was probably about right given the quality - I don’t feel the dishes are worth the full prices. Several members of our table ended up missing both food and drinks that we had to chase up. For instance, they forgot desert for one member of the table and everyone else had to eat theirs before his arrived. When asking for our bill we waited a long time, and again had to chase. I was pretty shocked that despite all the times we had to get up to go and chase them for forgotten items, they didn’t knock anything off the bill and still expected us to pay service charge. Overall I would not recommend.

Hosted a funeral reception here in Nov & the staff couldn’t have been more accommodating. We booked the whole venue with a drinks reception and sharing boards for over 100 people. The team curated a Caribbean inspired menu for us & it was a great success even with fussier guests. Huge thanks to the team for making a difficult day so much easier x

The food and cocktails and the food were absolutely amazing however the service was poor. Took to long to take order we constantly had to call the waiter over, not worth the service charge.

Lovely space, could do with some service and alcohol behind the bar. I know it was busy, but running out of stock wasn't the best.

Unfortunately very disappointing evening. Bloody Mary's and Dirty Martini were awful. When we asked about what vodka they had it was only Smirnoff, albeit prices warranted something much better. Won't return.

It weren't for the fact that it was my friend's birthday I wouldn't have gone in as I m not keen on some places in Croydon. Thank goodness l did. I was pleasantly surprised. There was a really chilled vibe when we were there two weeks ago thanks to the chilled 80s music in the background and it wasnt too loud. We had cocktails and a bite to eat and it was all delicious. The decor is spot on and just adds to the atmosphere. Bless them and they even put a candle on a little cake and brought it out for my friend. The manager was friendly and informative. A great little gem. Will visit again. Definitely give it ago. 👍🏾

We had the best night here for my birthday! The vibe of the restaurant and private room was perfect. everyone loved the variety of food and the cocktails and honestly the staff were so so amazing!! Everybody was friendly and helpful all evening especially Cara. We’ve all said we can’t wait to come back for more dinners and drinks and also to try the Hot Desk Friday. A great spot for any type of night out!

After visiting The Store on many occasions I decided to host my 40th birthday party there and it did not disappoint! The decor is amazing, the staff could not do enough for you and it was a fabulous night!

Fabulous experience at The Store. Hired the back room plus over spill area for my 30th. The staff were so flexible and accommodating, and great with communication to organize before hand. Food was really good, party buffet style but more classy. Restaurant is beautifully decorated. Would definitely recommend.

We booked The Store on Saturday 5th Oct for an afternoon event to congratulate my daughter on her new role. It was the perfect place to hold our event, the atmosphere is amazing, the space is great, it used to be a very original & early Sainsbury’s & has some original features still in place. The food was amazing & the service friendly, speedy & I can honestly say we were well looked after & they went above & beyond to ensure our event was all we wanted it to be. We will definitely be booking again & would highly recommend it. They had a number of events there on the day & were decorating for an evening event as our event was ending - they paid a lot of attention to detail, ensuring everything looked just right!

My partner and I came for our anniversary last weekend and had a wonderful time. We couldn’t believe how much we got for our money, and had great service. We instantly booked the drag brunch when we saw it advertised and I can’t wait. We spent less than £100 together and had two courses, a beer and a cocktail each, and a bottle of Prosecco. I’d recommend the chicken bao buns.

Really lovely space. Great menu for both good and drinks. Really lovely team that run it. I booked it for a birthday and they looked after us so well. They are now doing a regular and brilliant drag brunch. Dog friendly. Highly recommended.

hired out the Green Room for a private celebration dinner with my friends and it was perfect! the restaurant was very flexible with the decorations and bringing a cake and the pre-orders made everything run smoothly on the day! they even stayed open later for us on a Sunday! the staff were lovely attentive, and friendly. everything was great! would definitely recommend for a private event!

Lovely venue, but sadly the Sunday Roast is terrible. Best definition of the food is it tastes like microwave food. Meat has no seasoning, veg lacks texture and any taste ( believe it’s frozen veg), gravy is has no thickness and extremely watery, my favourite the Yorkshire pudding :(…worse I have ever eaten. It’s sad a venue so lovely makes such bad food. Especially when you pay £18 each for a roast and you’re provided with an extremely low quality of food, which doesn’t come close to the cost. POSITIVE: The food looks great, you’ll get some good instagram photos. Nobody needs to know how it taste 👅

We love visiting The Store! With its stunning aesthetic, rustic tables, stylish chairs, and a beautiful mosaic floor, it offers a truly unique atmosphere. The natural light and high ceilings add to the charm. Of the local venues, The Store is most similar to The Fox and Fern, with a focus on quality, variety and service. Being dog-friendly, it’s perfect for us and our corgi, Merlin. The hosts, Vincent and Georgia, are always polite, entertaining, and attentive. Vincent was kind enough to knock me up a sangria that wasn’t on the menu, which was a delightful touch, and shows the level of effort put in by the team at The Store. The food is excellent; the flat iron steak is an absolute bargain at £25, and everything we've tried has been fantastic. My partner is a big fan of the Pork Belly from the summer menu, too. Thank you for creating such a wonderful experience for us and Merlin!

Had a relaxed and enjoyable Sunday lunch at The Store. We all enjoyed the food, including two young children who demolished their roast from the kids menu. The service was friendly and efficient.

Love this venue and always enjoy going there whether for a drink or food. Offer a range of menu's i.e. roasts, brunch, mains. A great place if you want to take kids during the day, have a beer with friends or an intimate wine.

We had a Christmas lunch here recently with a few friends. It was lovely. Delicious Christmas food (Christmas pudding was great!) and very friendly staff. Recommend coming for a Sunday roast / Christmas meal. Also very cool venue !

Was recommended this place and wanted to go for ages. Booked for a Sunday lunch. Food was delicious and staff were super friendly. Lovely decor and atmosphere inside. They had run out of vegan sticky toffee pudding but made up for it with a big bowl of vegan ice cream and then didn’t charge me! Will definitely be back. Also great selection of non alcoholic cocktails.

Visited yesterday for a Sunday roast, and it didn’t disappoint. Cocktails are delicious, and the roast was lovely. A little pricer than most places in Croydon but well worth the money.

I’ve been before for brunch and that was nice but The Sunday roast was not up to par especially for the money it’s one of those places that looks great on Instagram but unfortunately the reality is its pretty basic food. The atmosphere also felt a bit flat along with the staff.

Went with family for Sunday lunch. The food was ok, not the greatest but not bad. Ambience is nice, if a little dark. Staff were really nice however, there appeared to be only two members of waiting staff and one bartender. Considering how busy they get on a Sunday, this was surprising. Not sure if we would go back for Sunday lunch, maybe just drinks instead.

Fabulous decor, very intimate but not intimidating. I came here for a Sunday roast with a friend and was met with such warmth from the staff. I hadn’t booked a table (but would suggest you book ahead to avoid disappointment). Luckily was seated on a great table. Our host/ waiter , Gin, was just ACE!! 3rd shift at the restaurant and I couldn’t tell. Great conversation, honest recommendations, and quick efficient service. I’m already arrange another visit with more friend and I hope Gin and the rest of the staff in today will be there (including Athee fabulous chef- the food was banging. I got a to-go bag to enjoy later on). Very healthy portions. Fabulous

Had a really enjoyable time this evening We were served by Monica and Georgia all night. It was a very busy night but they never stopped being gregarious, attentive and informative. It would definitely make me want to come back again. Highly recommended

I had an amazing afternoon at The Store. The service was outstanding. The manager was welcoming and kind. I came to do some work during their Friday hotdesk session. She let me know where the sockets were for my laptop, welcomed me to make myself comfortable, and kept checking if I was okay. I ended up eating from the hotdesk menu, where you can get unlimited coffee. I had two meals, both were really nice and well presented. I called my brother to join me because it was so nice and he came and we had cocktails to end a successful work session. They were delicious also. It was fairly quiet in there. When I first arrived there was a lovely mum and baby club at the back in a separate space, so there was plenty of space to sit and feel comfortable. I usually use headphones when I’m out but the vibe was good and the music was comforting so I didn’t use my headphones. The restaurant was clean with a good atmosphere and stunning decor. I felt really focused. The lights that hang over the tables could do with a wipe though, as there was some dirt that looked like it might fall into the table. One of those things that once you see it, you can’t unsee it. Overall it was a brilliant spot and I will be visiting much more regularly now. Highly recommended.

We visited this restaurant on Sunday afternoon for brunch. The place has an incredible atmosphere. The service was excellent. The food menu has some different choices such as pineapple or chicken waffles, but some food options were out of stock. My husband was a little disappointed with his waffle which was slightly over cooked, but the waitress offered to replace it many times which was lovely. I would visit again.

This restaurant looks incredible, very high class. However, the staff and the food is another story. I ordered the asparagus dish to start with and it couldn’t of been more bland. My main came along and I ordered the roast chicken, and it was raw on the inside, it got sent back and came back raw again but worse this time. When I then complained to the staff, and the response was “the chef said its cooked near the bone so it will be a bit pink” excuse me??? How can you serve raw chicken and give that as your excuse? Just cook the chicken properly.

Service and atmosphere were great.

Very pleasantly surprised. Went for late lunch/ early dinner and after going on a linguine binge from Windsor and blue water I have to say the seafood linguine is the best I’ve tasted this year. With the help of the staff we pinned it down to the sautéed tomatoes. Staff were lovely, cocktails were great. Toilets were clean and atmosphere was inviting. Space well utilised. I’ll be back!

Great venue. Lovely service. Their summer parties etc are great fun too and a great way to meet local people or just get the local gang together. Food is reasonably priced per portion and their offers are always good. Its fancier than other places nearby but delivers on what you then expect.

Lovely laid back atmosphere, wonderful original decor. This is definitely a place to drink, not eat as the food menu is underwhelming and bland.

In booking my table 2days in advance for a party of 10, I queried specifically if I needed to preorder our Roast dinner choices. I got no response …on the day when we arrived we were told most of the roasts were sold out, So had to chose from a minimal list of options. When our Roasts arrived, they were terrible and expensive (potatoes weren’t roasted, veg was poor, chicken was exceptionally dry), the whole plate was bulked out by boiled white cabbage, no broccoli as advertised, gravy was also a let down. Staff were polite and friendly, and they did give us a free cauliflower cheese, but the meal was just so disappointing for the cost and money spent (nearly £300).

By far the best place in Croydon. We have tried Sunday roast, snacks, casual drinks and food is always on point. Great service and genuine dog and family friendly. We couldn't recommend enough. #localheroes

Staff really friendly and helpful, super dog friendly too which was great. Drinks where good and my friends meals looked really tasty. I got the Vegetarian Paella which I was really looking forward too. Would have been better if it came with some bread or side vegetables to add more to the dish. Dish was well cooked but unfortunately lacked the depth of flavour you would expect with a Paella. Maybe too heavy on the salt and not enough other seasonings. I would still definitely visit here again though! And was fine for the price

I've held off reviewing because the interior of this place is exceptional. Unfortunately, that can not make make up for the inconsistent service we receive every time we visit... We attended the spring party a few weeks ago, a chance to show off a bit... instead, the staff seemed confused, and the service was poor (slow and incorrect order brought over several times). The real cherry on the cake was the fact that we were told the kitchen went on strike midway through the evening... the place went from being packed to half empty, we managed to get some small plates (what food we did get was good to be fair) but we whitnessed staff shouting at each other, doors slamming, etc... very unprofessional. Overall, it is worth a visit, but be prepared for inconsistent service.

It’s an expensive day out, but it’s a lovely place and it’s dog friendly. Would go again 👍🏼

My family and l visited for brunch 11/06/21. Steak, scrambled eggs and bread. The steak was not well done and scrambled eggs were wet. I asked for the eggs to be dry and it was perfect. Thanks Chef.The cocktails were very nice. The seating was very comfortable and a lot of people were in there on their laptops. The seating was very relaxing. One person brought their dog. The inside decoration was dull with lots of plants. Easter Sunday lunch On 9th April 2023 my family member treated me with lunch and cocktails at the Store. Very nice.

Mice. Nasty. Not again ever Unfortunately cant respond to your comment. But the food hygiene rating on council website doesnt show 5 star. Either way hopefully you get rid of it... But not a good experience for me and my family

Lovely interior and the food was OK, but the spring party was a disaster. I'm not sure the staff knew what they were doing and seemed overwhelmed with the number of people that had booked. Drinks were slow, food was almost impossible to order due to the kitchen being overwhelmed (we were told to wait an hour before ordering!). The staff seemed stressed, the wrong drinks were delivered twice and to see bar and kitchen staff arguing is really not the way to create an atmosphere I'd want to return to.

**Updated Review** Popped in as it's our anniversary of moving to the area and decided to grab a Sunday roast and some drinkies. We originally booked for 12:30 but got a bit delayed so pushed the booking back to 3. This is important because if you book on "open table" the venue may not receive the booking on their system. Wasn't an issue but worth being diligent to the venue, book through their website. I added the menu. Slightly different experience today, bit of hanging around at the front door to be seated and then despite lots of empty tables we had a couple of lounge seats in the window, not too bad but would have loved a choice of sitting at a table. When I mentioned the earlier booking we were told that would have been better as they had now run out of beef, damn! Anyway, we checked the menu and decided to order lamb and mushroom Wellington, side of cauli cheese and some stuffing......stuffing was also finished, double damn! To drink we had a couple of cocktails, cherry fizz and a pecan espresso, a bottle of water and a bottle of rose. Cocktails were pretty good, cherry fizz was nice and tart but a little sweet, pecan espresso looked a bit flat, didn't hit any pecan notes but not bad all in all. The rose was good and a nice easy to drink Cotes de Provence, 'M de Minuty'. We did wait a while to order and considering it wasn't too busy we felt we could have had a little more attention, we decided to order everything (drinks, mains and dessert) so avoid waiting later. The drinks and mains came in a timely fashion and the roast looked superb! I'm nit picking here but we didn't get carrots (loads of extra potato instead) and the roasties were not very crispy at all, in fact they were quite soggy, However the meal itself was pretty good. Lamb was a tad fatty but it's lamb so can't complain there, I would have preferred beef or even pork. The cauliflower cheese might have been the best bit about the meal, cheesy and cauliflowery, with a nice amount of slightly over cooked cheese, you know the slightly hard bit, which I actually love! The mushroom Wellington was nicely prepped and good to see whole mushrooms instead of the blended paste concoction some venues try to serve.... and the broccoli and cabbage were present, if not a little bland and flavourless. I did enquire as to whether we were supposed to get carrots, but was told they had run out, triple damn..... Annoyingly the table next to us did get carrots, and as mentioned this might be nit picking but at £20 a roast things should be on point. For afters, we ordered the white peach cheese cake. This was nicely presented but also came with a raspberry purée which overpowered the peach(possibly mango!) to the point I couldn't even remember it was meant to be peach(or even mango!). It's was basically a vanilla cheesecake with some peach/mango and raspberry purée.....🤔 Annoyingly the table next to us got carrots I might add..... The bill was a round £130 and while the place is really nice, the food is above standard for the area and the service got much more attentive and even friendly, I would say there is a little room for improvement. We love the area and want there to be great venues, I wouldn't tell anyone not to visit, I would say go give it a try, definitely. And if it's Sunday roast get in early to avoid disappointment. It's super hard for a venue to perfectly anticipate trade and totally empathise with the small niggles we encountered. Definitely the best in the area and look forward to seeing some healthy competition soon! We will be back and looking forward to it! ******************************************* Excellent. Shocking attention to detail. Called yesterday twice to arrange a drink with a friend. I’ve been away from Croydon for 20 years and decided to meet here for drinks. Was assured that they had room for us and left out on an hour journey to meet here. Arrived to see the door closed, chairs on tables. Called to ask what had happened only to have been given a flimsy excuse about a quiz being cancelled. I was aware of the quiz and had asked if we could have drinks whilst that took place. Was assured we’d be fine. I guess there’s a reason I left Croydon. This is one reason I won’t be back in a hurry. My advice to the team - pay closer attention. My advice to the owner - have a look at your team. Not sure if you’d want you business shut down prior to your advertised hours. Thanks for wasting my time.

One of the nicest spots in Croydon. The food here is always really good with a menu that usually changes seasonally. The bar always has a nice vibe and there are always good options for cocktails wines or beers. If there are ever any issues the staff are usually really good at being on hand to help and fix. Events like an autumn party and Sunday quizzes have also been really good fun.

Service was ok (additional items added on the bill by accident, gratuity is mandatory, but managed well despite it being busy) Venue was great (not child friendly though) Food was average and did not warrant the premium price Mocktails we’re amazing

Probably the worst service I've had in sometime. Rude staff overpriced below par food. Were being ignored for some time. I asked to speak to the chef. My Paella was undercooked at £16 at a starter portion. The chef came out not interested verbally abused me saying I'd spoken to his staff badly. I raised my voice because I was being ignored. No one would tell me the owners name. Avoid at all costs. Awful place. S

The food here was excellent, better than other restaurants that are constantly busy in Croydons prestigious "South End" restaurant Quarter Squid for starter with pickled ginger laces had amazing flavour contrast and guinea fowl on a bed of creamy sweet potato mash was cooked to perfection Not the cheapest but not crazy , all worth it for sure for a fantastic dining experience set in a superb location. A treat and looking forward to returning

Other person with me got the special - duck breast - which was also cauterised. and the less said about the dessert the better. Overall - atmosphere & service lovely. Food... opposite of lovely. Go to this place for drinks only.

What's happened? I've been here a couple of times and the roast has been really nice. Today however, different story. Is it under new owners or are there new chefs? The roast was a sorry excuse; shop bought yorkies, dry meat, under cooked potatoes and a dribble of gravy. Didn't get our drinks until we reminded the waiter. Didn't receive our side of cauliflower cheese. Didn't get our bill until we asked again. And they added service charge. Requested that be taken off straight away. I won't be returning, which is a shame because it used to be really great.

Menu odd and limited...not as advertised on line...update your menu...Christmas menu still displayed outside end of January...cocktail nice but very pricey for its miniscule size
