The Stone Crab in Pembrokeshire

Absolutely loved the food. I had the 12oz steak and it was cooked to perfection. There were 8 of us including 4 children who loved the food. Definitely will be back again.

Waited ages to book into here and well worth the wait, booked as a birthday treat for my treacle. Absolute gem of a place, food was stunning, very flavoursome and surprisingly filling. Great value for money, as you get the quality you pay for, staff were so welcoming and friendly the whole evening was a joy from beginning to the end. Highly recommend 👌

Lovely spot on the harbour side, had to book a table as the place is small and limited availability. They were very welcoming and accommodating with babies and buggies. Food was excellent. We had seafood and steak and it was all beautifully cooked and well presented. I would say this is somewhere for an occasion, something a bit special,as it is a bit pricey for an everyday lunch, but worth it for the quality and choice. Would recommend happily

We’ve been to Rick Steins a few times, but in our opinion this little bar shack restaurant on the harbour in Saundersfoot was absolutely top drawer ! 🥰

My wife and I had lunch at this outstanding seafood restaurant. We had the seafood platter for two and half a lobster as a side dish which was delicious and beautifully presented. The staff were excellent and were not only efficient but very friendly and helpful. I highly recommend this wonderful restaurant.

Fantastic place. Warm welcome and friendly service. Food cooked to perfection. I had the prawns in garlic to start, lobster and chips for main and churros for pud. Pint of larger and an espresso martini to wash it down. Prices are what you expect for fresh seafood but when it's this good it's worth it.

This is a small and cozy restaurant right on the harbour in Saundersfoot. The restaurant has a warm feel and the staff were all very engaged and helpful. The four of us all had different means and all were excellent. I had the fish curry which was a delight while a friend had a whole Sea Bream. Would have been happy to have eater any of the mains! Booked this table several weeks ago and will make another booking soon. Note that booking ahead here is almost essential unless you want to risk is and sit outside.

We have wanted to book this restaurant for a while and finally we were able to get a lunchtime slot for my mother in laws birthday. Unfortunately we were left unsatisfied with our meal. Firstly the waitress was rather blunt and rude, after asking for extra bread you would have thought I asked for her last fiver. For my starter the sauce for the muscles was very bland and the lobster extremely dry. After seeing this place so highly rated we were extremely disappointing.

I booked this restaurant 1 month in advance of coming on holiday to the area as I knew it was a popular place. From the moment we walked in it did not dissapoint. A small cosy but perfectly set up restaurant. The smells wafting all around were just mouth watering and the hostess that greeted us "Lily" was just like seeing an old friend. The food was simply the freshest fish we'd tasted and so so tasty. Simply a must if you are visiting Sandersfood.

We visited as family of 4, I booked a month in advance to make sure I got a table as I knew it always fully booked. And now we know why. We were greeted by a very friendly and welcoming staff member who shared with us the restaurant's family history. As we entered the small restaurant, it was perfectly set and not over-crowded. The smells wafting from the tiny kitchen as we waiting for our table were mouth watering. The menu is not extensive but that is great because it means that the dishes they have on offer will be prepared and cooked to perfection. And were weren't disappointed. We had a octopus started from the specials and the battered squid and they were cooked to perfection just so tender and full of flavour. The mains we had a children Moules and chips, a platter for 2 and the Goa curry. Wow they were all so delicious and fresh tasting. The best and freshest seafood we have ever tasted. If you are in the area or coming to Saundersfoot you must come and eat here.

What a superb little restaurant. This place is absolutely fantastic. The location, the staff, the food, faultless. We had our dog with us so sat outside, but the weather was kind so this was not a problem. We had the lunch sharing platter for 2, and it was delicious. The whole atmosphere this restaurant gives off is just so relaxing and I could easily have just sat there all day absorbing the atmosphere. Booking is advisable though as they did have to turn alot of people away. Will definitely return.

This was the best steak I’ve had in years, and it’s a seafront restaurant specialising in… seafood. Frankly outrageous. My partner’s cod kiev was also incredible. I wish I could give more than five stars. All staff an absolute delight, and many lovely little touches

Popped in on the off chance for a table without a booking - it was full unfortunately and that happens of course. Fairly rude lady muttered ‘outside’ to the waiting staff. It was cold so we passed, but asked if there were any tables later on. ‘Full all day’ was the reply. We left and ate elsewhere. Walked past the restaurant about an hour or so later and it was almost empty. Clearly doing well enough not to bother with extra customers, but we won’t be going back.

Visited here last year with friends as we were staying in Saundersfoot, we came in the evening and loved it. Hubby & I decided to return and book for lunch and although it's an hours drive from Swansea its really worth it. The food is fabulous, the atmosphere is unpretentious considering how good the food is. We shared the bread, olives, aioli and dipping oil starter, bread was fresh & warm and this starter was perfect to share and nibble with our first glass of Vinho Verde. I ordered the cod kiev with samphire and saute potatoes hubby had the cod loin with asian stirfry veg and fries. The fish was cooked perfectly...we thororougly enjoyed everything , the lady serving us was lovely infact all staff were very welcoming. Just love the great food and ambience of this quirky little place!

We started with the bread and olives and the Welsh Rarebit and then the sharing platter for 2. The Sole was superb and the Moule Mariniere the best I have had since living in Jersey. Will be back again when next in the area.

Wow! The Stone Crab is one very special restaurant. From the incredible food ( flavours were out of this world), and thoughtful staff to the picturesque setting. The Calamari, Crab Arancini and Goan curry were delicious but the steak was the best I have ever had.. Well done Stone Crab. We can’t wait to book in again.

We'd heard so much about The Stone Crab that we decided to book. First impression and most obvious was the friendliness of the staff. Eager to help with information on menu choices, supply drinks and generally keep us happy. The food we had was good, starters being the favourites all round, mains not quite so much. Although interesting sounding choices we felt they lacked seasoning and flavour. Deserts were welcomed and delicious. In fact this is the only restaurant where we all managed three courses. A lovely atmosphere, casual and relaxed. Background music didn't overwhelm our conversations which is always appreciated. Prices of course match the quality of the seafood which was excellent. Recommend booking well in advance as this place is very popular.

Couldn’t recommend enough, fantastic staff and even better food. Everytime we are in Saundersfoot we have a meal. Very accommodating and everytime we’ve been staff remember us, best restaurant in Saundersfoot in my opinion.

WOW What a find this place was. Run by Chef Mark and his daughter Lilly this place could not be better. Fantastic warm hospitality from Lilly and the fish that fresh you wouldn't believe it prepared by Mark was truly incredible. We had a platter of enormous King prawns, muscles and scallops to start. This was followed by Cod, Bream, and Crab arancini with a great selection of fresh veg, and all washed down with a great bottle of wine. Truly the best fish restaurant I have ever eaten in, can't wait to visit again. Sadly its 200 miles from home. THANKS TO ALL. Fabulous restaurant.. we went the day before New Year’s Eve and had a great time. The food was wonderful and the staff were great, especially Lily. She was very friendly and helpful. I had the cod Kiev and my wife had the fruiti de mar both were fab. Definitely recommend this restaurant.

Amazing place to eat with visiting family. Food excellent, well tasty and value for money. 3 of us tried the oysters and weren’t disappointed, the fish was all fresh, staff so lovely and made us feel at home, and chef discussed with us what fish we may like on the serving platter for the main. Booked this when we planned an extended family cottage holiday in Saundersfoot. Absolutely amazing seafood platter that was fantastic value for money. More than enough for two people - we could not quite finish. Started with fresh oysters that were exquisite! Highly highly recommended!

A hidden gem of a restaurant. Living on the coast, we're no strangers to seafood but the whole experience of eating out at the Stone Crab is another level. The highest quality seafood, prepared by a talented, competent chef. Attentive, laid back service and a relaxed ambience. Highly recommend the generous seafood platter for two. Our oysters for starters were exquisite too. We'll be back!

A very cute seafood restaurant close to Saundersfoot Harbour. Cheerful, character decor with comfortable spacious seating. Really lovely welcome by Julie, our server and the bar staff went out of their way to make cocktails not on the standard menu. The Pembrokeshire Mussels were outstanding and Oven Baked Sea Bream not too far behind at all. Try too the ‘Ramen’ noodles with seafood piled atop the most delicious miso style broth and packed with a variety of fish. Be aware, however, portions are very generous and we should not have had both starters and mains but all were delicious! A great little place 🍤🎣

We booked in at The Stone Crab for the last evening of a recent trip to Saundersfoot and was not disappointed! We were given a lovely welcome and the owner explained everything on arrival. There was a great choice on the menu and wine list. As you would expect the seafood and ingredients were top quality and the combination of flavours for each course was delicious. My partner is not usually a big fan of seafood but loved everything we selected. We will definitely be back on our next visit!

Our food was absolutely delicious we had the sharing platter and the flat iron steaks! We sat outside with a view of the harbour. Couldn’t ask for a better experience THANKYOU. I have been waiting so long to visit the stonecrab as its very difficult to get in. I was so excited when we arrived but the excitement soon faded.... I have never been made to feel so uncomfortable in my life. The lady who greeted us was RUDE didn't even see us to our table we assumed the table we sat on was the table for us. She was rude taking our order and slamming our plates down when food arrived minimal interaction verbally. She continued to make us feel u comfortable just watching her interactions with other tables. Asking a table by the side of us While holding their plates high "who's having what then" n when a lady answered lobster she said "well neither of these are that" I wanted the place to swallow me up. An older lady entered the restaurant and started walking to a table and she shouted "oi just drinks are outside love" that was it I had to leave. The Food However 5* I loved it but my partner was so u comfortable he couldn't enjoy it. I'm truly gutted as iv been so excited for so long and the service ruined the experience.

This is a proper fish restaurant. Lovely friendly unflash atmosphere. The food is as good as it gets anywhere in the country. The accolades and awards understate how good it is. A remarkable place that you have to go to. It's worth traveling for.

I absolutely loved this place .. fabulous setting a lovely atmosphere and the food was delicious .. my only feedback is my husband had the plaice dish off the specials board, which came with potatoes , which he said was absolutely amazing, but it was missing some veg .. maybe seasonal veg or broccoli and carrot apart from that the place is amazing and was well worth the wait to book in (approx 8 weeks) the service was fantastic too and I would recommend a visit if you're stopping in the surrounding area of saundersfoot .. Amazing fish restaurant right on the seafront. The dishes tasted just as beautiful as they looked and the was a real genuine warmth to the service. During the holiday season, you definitely want to book well in advance if you do not want to be disappointed. It's worth noting too, that even though this is a more high end restaurant, there were plenty of options for children.

I’ve visited the Stonecrab on a few occasions, most recently in a party of 9. And the food, service, atmosphere is second to none. The Staff are fantastic and nothing is too much trouble. Friendly, polite and accommodating. There is a very personal feel about the whole experience. The food is brilliant and the portions are more than enough. Keep up the good work guys!
