The Steamboat Cookhouse and Pub in East Lindsey

Last Sunday 6th October 2024 we came to this restaurant to try it we both had the smothered platter which had rump steak, gammon etc it was beautiful I had mine well done and usually places like this don't do it well enough for me (nearly cremated lol) but there's was perfect we also had knickerbocker glory sundae wow lush loved it. Today (12th October) we decided to try it again and see if last time was a fluke we had beer battered haddock and I had create your own pizza, I put chicken, red onions and red peppers it was absolutely delicious cant fault the food here it really is superb and the staff are so polite and professional and the service is amazing well done guys definitely recommend

We always go in here when visiting the father in law in his holiday hone, as per previous experiences we had another lovely meal today. Food was lovely and all mixed grills and steak were cooked perfectly and mine went down very well with my large white wine and lemonade! Amanda who served us was fab and made us feel very welcome and we had a little bit of banter with her - she's an asset to the place. Thank you. We'll be back again on our next visit to Skeg :)

This was an amazing evening for my birthday meal The staff, especially Amanda, was very attentive and very warm in her attitude towards guests. I would highly recommend for quick and efficient service, nothing was too much trouble.

This is great for a family meal. The food was cooked exactly how we asked for it. Very quick service. We will be back again.

Main courses were fine and service was warm and friendly. We had desserts, i had the knickerbocker glory sundae and the raspberries in it were spoiled, so much so that they were fizzing/ fermenting. I had explained this to the staff and the response was "well they were fresh this morning" - clearly not. I was asked if i wanted another (which i understandably didn't) and it was left at that with a casual apology. I feel pretty frustrated that i was served rotten food and was given a very flippant apology and that was it - they didn't even take it off the receipt, i had to ask for it to be taken off and a new receipt printed. Would not return.

Love this restaurant .. been here on both stays to the area.. always nice and friendly inside and the food is fabulous.. watching the staff on a busy Sunday and knowing what it is like to be in a busy kitchen myself I take my hat of at all staff that worked so hard to keep us the public happy and fed :) also Kayleigh our waitress for the afternoon amazing and pleasant:) Well done team !!

Staff were really good and attentive. Most disappointing was the portion size, I ordered chicken goujons (4 with dip) to start, main was katsu chicken (again 4 small goujons with katsu sauce ) white rice plus a nan bread (about the size of the palm of my hand), when the lady brought it out I thought I had mistakenly ordered a child's portion it was so small. The starter cost £5.50 with the main costing a further £12.50. Very poor value for money, sorry guys won't be visiting again.

Food was lovely Kayleigh was a lovely waitress she spoke directly to our 2 year old who was feeling a bit shy. Told Kayleigh it was my birthday and she returned two minutes later with a free dessert to have before dinner as we were advised there may be a wait. Food came out soon after this. Lovely place great portion size will definitely return. Thank you Kayleigh!

Staying at adjoining Premier Inn and booked 3 meal deals. Excellent freshness in all areas of items to select for breakfast, which included tasty full English. A lovely welcome given by staff who showed me to my table. The evening meal when I was joined by other family members was again something to look forward to. The food was perfect. All the staff should be proud of the service they provide to their customers, in particular Kasha and Amanda made sure we were happy with our meals and greeted us with a smile.

The food is great, the staff also great. BUT it took me ages to find a half clean plate. All the cups plates and cutlery are absolutely disgusting! When you touch them you can feel dry bits of food and grease. In the cups you can see tea and coffee stains. It feels like everything is just rinsed uder water and put back. I've been here many many times and it's always the same. Very disappointed

Rocked up a bit late for breakfast, we didn't realise they finish at 10.30 here in the week. As we had a booking for 10, they were happy to sit us down. We were told breakfast finishes at half past, but happy to stay after breakfast is closed down and cleared up. (Just get everything to the table before hand) -understandable. Had breakfast at many premier inn places, but these guys are awesome. Always polite, kind and understanding. The lady who served us was excellent and very helpful and the Sunday roast was delicious. I visited the ladies toilets and they were extremely dirty and grimy around the washbasin taps. I reported it to a member of staff who never looked at me whilst I was explaining how dirty the toilets were, his explanation was they had been busy and had not had time to check them!!! But the dirt was a build up of a long time not just one day!!!! Yuk

Came here with family and had a great meal. Atmosphere was welcoming and nice decor. 6 mains and 4 desserts were all lovely. Portion size reasonable and nothing was too expensive. Slight criticism was that pie said it came with gravy in jug - in fact it was served with gravy already on the plate, swamping the food which was not desirable for the person eating this dish. Service was friendly and efficient.

Was staying at the hotel as we where going to the embassy theatre to see a show. We were early for check in, so decided to go to the bar for a drink. We were greeted by a lovely young man (sorry didn’t get his name) who advised us to book as the time we were eating was a busy time. Went to book with a lovely lady called Amanda, when we returned later was again met by Amanda who remembered us and sat us straight to our table. She was just amazing throughout our hole meal, the food was also really good. Will definitely be back, thank you Amanda and the young barman for such excellent service.
