I had organised an evening meal , a party for my husband. I called in to check all was ok earlier in the day and nothing was known about the booking ,( for 9!) Not a good feeling. It was eventually found, so we all arrived in the evening to NO preparation , absolutely awful food , especially the vegetarian options. Dry , old food , very poor service and attitude, grim dark , dead surroundings. Despite getting there on time as requested , the chef had still gone home before we'd had a chance to choose desserts. A disaster we won't forget , only memorable as a spoof once I'd got over the total disappoint . Not worth one star and this was to be our new ' local '! Will never go in there again.

Expensive pint, decent food... But they put on some great live acts. Now doing comedy, at £12 a ticket was as good as anything you'd find in a city centre.

Nice decor. Really warm and welcoming. Friendly staff, nice atmosphere in the bar. Great selection of Lincoln Green beers on tap. Excellent venue. Recently revisited, excellent range of beers Majesty from Castle Rock was an excellent full flavoured beer. Still an excellent range of beers and now has a loyalty program for discounts on food and drink. No change after a few further revisits.

We visited the pub for lunch as part of a deal following a tour of the Lincoln Green brewery, which we thoroughly enjoyed. Unfortunately, the lunch experience that followed was disappointing, especially as we’ve always liked this pub. Despite there being only five of us, the food took 1.5 hours to arrive. We asked the staff several times about the delay and were told the chef was working alone. When the food finally arrived, some dishes were cold, and one member of our group was missing their main. The missing dish, which was only a sandwich, took an additional 20-30 minutes to arrive. Each time we asked about the delay, we received inconsistent explanations: the chef was alone, the food lift wasn’t working, and eventually, we were told the chef had forgotten. It’s a real shame, as we had such a nice time during the brewery tour, but the lunch was a disappointing end to what could have been a great experience.

Another great evening at the Station Hotel! Mrs had the "Curry of the day", which today was Jamaican chicken. Landlord Dave informed us that he got the recipe from his friend & business partner who's Mum is from Jamaica. This was a really tasty & satisfying dish, highly recommended. Lots of beers on offer again tonight, but unfortunately my favourite 'Hood' was not available 😢, although it did come back on as I was about to leave. Credit to Jordan on the bar for his excellent service 😉 Edit: I'm not sure how my review suddenly appeared as "new" a couple of weeks ago? This review & the photos were originally posted a few years ago when Dave was the landlord (who now runs the Blackshale in Beeston). Since then, this pub went downhill in terms of food due to; in my opinion, poor management. That said, it appears to be improving again over the last few months & the beer is still great!

Stayed at the hotel, when visiting family. Lovely bedroom's, good food, wide range of drinks. Dog friendly bar, which is great. Also the bar Manager is very attentive, nothing is too much trouble. Think she was called Morgan? Plus barman Archie provided friendly service. I will return, love the outside area too.

Went for Sunday Lunch. The pub was very quiet, which was concerning on peak time on a Sunday. The meal was very nice. Large portion sizes. Fairly priced. There’s a great selection of Ales on draught. A quiet lounge and a bar. A small amount of tables outside.

My favourite pub locally. A really nice historic station building, serving a large selection of tasty ales, some lagers and ciders. Lincoln Green Brewery is a special one with great home brews. Always a cosy and comfortable place - feels like a proper local! Great in any season. Staff are always friendly and knowledgeable. A welcoming traditional pub in a good location.

Such a shame to see they’ve got rid of the vegan menu and now only have a few vegan options. They used to have an amazing fysh and chips, one of the best I’ve ever had, and pies, roast dinners etc. Sad to see they’ve changed and now it’s very mediocre offerings. I don’t know if it’s changed hands, or the chef has changed, but it used to be great.

Wow what a beautiful place! We had the pleasure of having lunch here after a tour around the Lincoln Green brewery and the food was delicious 😋 the staff were very friendly and helpful. There's plenty of drinks to choose from and you can pick up a membership card to collect points for free drinks. We will definitely be going back soon.

Mum’s recently wheelchair bound, so trying to find decent places to eat with wheelchair access is a new for us. With it being near to the tram stop thought it would be ideal for dad to be able to take mum on his own. There is a slight step but was easy enough to get in. We waited patiently 50 mins for our food. During our wait we heard someone say there was a problem with the dumb waiter, but no one came over to us to explain or apologise. The waitress eventually brought 2 of our meals over. To say they were cold is an understatement! I can only assume that they had been sat waiting for the dumb waiter to start working! I mentioned to the waitress that they were cold and asked how long they had been left upstairs for, her response was ‘not long’! She did ask if we wanted some more, but after having waited for nearly an hour, we could not risk waiting! No further apologies were received, never-mind an offer of a refund! I’m also unsure if the ‘cod’ fish fingers were actually cod. They didn’t taste or look like cod, unless it was because of them being cold it affected the taste! This is one place off the list!

Food was good but disappointed with the hot roast potatoes they were absolutely covered in black pepper I didn't see mentioned on the menu. That much seasoning should be a customer's choice, I had to have an extra coke and my other half just left them which left him with pretty much just a beef sandwich.

Tables were dirty and only wiped after I saw two different tables requesting for this to be done when they sat down. Empty glasses and plates were left on the tables for a long time after customers had left. No excuses for this as pub wasn't that busy and the staff had plenty of time.

I booked a table for 20th December for Christmas gathering with friends for 1pm, I had a phone call at 12 noon to tell me there was no food being served as a problem had occurred in the kitchen. I managed to find another venue for myself and my friends that day. A few weeks later I booked again for Saturday 6th January, I received an email confirming the booking. When I arrived on 6th I was told by barman that again no food was being served that day as they were carrying out a deep clean of the kitchen area. I had not received a call or an email telling me this, after paying for a taxi to get there and another taxi to find somewhere else to eat I was very frustrated. The bar man did apologise, but surely there should have been some communication to tell me the situation. Very shoddy service, poor way to run a business. I would definitely not recommend this establishment.

Ate in the pub with a group of friends. The food was really bad, in fact the worst I had ever had. I ordered shepherd's pie which was dry and microwaved to an unbelievably hot temperature. The only veg, sprouts, were raw and as hard as bullets, although burnt on the outside where they had been roasted. They also had a strange sweet flavour. The apple crumble was dry, not cooked on the top and appeared to be just raw flour and sugar. Again at an unnatural temperature. A very disappointing visit. There was also issues with the burnt hake and chips. I didn't stay at the hotel. Have of our party were served the food after the others had eaten.

We have visited the Station Hotel in Hucknall many times for meals but especially Sunday lunch. The meal itself is excellent and well worth the £14. A huge amount of meat and roast potatoes, mash, veg and all the trimmings plus a yorkie. More gravy if you request this also. My hubby is always delighted with the beer choice. However, I have been disappointed, as for the last few months they haven't had decaf coffee. It doesnt seem much, but as the designated driver and having an intolerance to caffeine, I do enjoy a coffee after eating. At one time they did have some, but they now constantly say they've run out and have/ will order some more. On a number of occasions I have been told the 'machine has been cleaned and switched off' - at 5 o clock?? With a son who works and runs a restaurant, front of house services are high on his list of priorities. I feel that front of house at the station does need tweaking. Overall, it is a good experience and worth a visit.

First visit in 2021 was really good. Pizza was excellent and we thought we'd found the best restaurant in the area. Second and this most recent visit have disappointed. The menu is full of promise but doesn't deliver on quality for the price. The restaurant was empty except for our party, which is testament to the poor value for money. Staff were friendly, but didn't seem to have much training in how to provide a quality / attentive service. Could do so much better to match the excellent selection of craft beers on offer.

Excellent place to take your friends for a drink, offering a wide range of beers - brewed locally at Lincoln Green Brewery, Hucknall - to other spirits and non-alcoholic drinks. Also on offer is a traditional pub menu offering a good range of choices at very reasonable prices, including a children's menu. Service is good - staff are welcoming and have a good knowledge of the beers served. Situated opposite the train (hence its name) and tram station. Well worth a visit.

Here’s a review tailored for Tappers Harker in Long Eaton, assuming it’s a pub or bar: Review: Tappers Harker, Long Eaton Tappers Harker in Long Eaton is a fantastic, unpretentious gem that’s perfect for anyone looking to enjoy a quality pint or an expertly mixed cocktail in a relaxed yet lively atmosphere. Located just off the main street, this charming spot feels like the kind of local haunt you’ll want to return to again and again. The interior is warm and welcoming, with a rustic pub vibe that blends traditional features with modern touches. The wooden bar, cozy seating areas, and ambient lighting give the place a comfortable, no-fuss feel, making it ideal for everything from a quick drink after work to a leisurely evening with friends. The drinks menu at Tappers is a highlight. They offer a great selection of craft beers on tap, as well as a varied list of spirits, including some fantastic gins and whiskies. Whether you’re a beer enthusiast or a cocktail lover, there’s something here to satisfy any taste. The “Tappers Old Fashioned” was a standout—perfectly mixed with a balanced depth of flavor that showed off the bartender’s skill. The rotating guest ales are always a fun option, and the local beers they feature often make for an exciting tasting experience. Food-wise, Tappers Harker doesn’t disappoint. The menu features classic pub grub with a few unique twists. Their hand-cut chips are perfect, crispy on the outside yet fluffy on the inside, and the gourmet burgers come highly recommended. If you’re after something lighter, the homemade soups and sandwiches are fresh and satisfying. One of the standout features of Tappers is the friendly and attentive staff. Whether you’re a regular or a newcomer, they make sure you feel welcome and are happy to offer recommendations based on your preferences. It’s clear they care about the experience they provide, and that goes a long way in creating a comfortable, enjoyable atmosphere. Tappers Harker is a wonderful addition to the Long Eaton pub scene. It offers a relaxed setting, top-notch drinks, and excellent service, all at reasonable prices. If you’re in the area, it’s well worth a visit—and if you’re lucky enough to be a local, it’s easy to see why this place is a favorite.
