It's a great place to have drinks the beer garden is nice and private plus there is a pool table witch is always a bonus.

Absolutely disgusting place. Filthy upholstery. The carpets if that what you call them are covered in years of booze. Black . Black black.the toilets stink covered in mold. Who ever owns or runs this pig sty.shouldnt be let loose in a public service establishment. You should be embarrassed in allllll corners of hygiene 🤢

Went in Saturday night, the Lady who is due to take over in a couple of weeks totally ignored me not once but 3 times. She was more interested in talking to staff whose night off it was and had gone in for a drink or putting her phone on charge rather than serve people who were stood waiting.

Very unfriendly barman found him rude and aggressive .With him in charge hardly surprising it was quiet .Didnt accept card .Do they know this is 2022 .?Dreadful experience 😫

My second visit here. A down to earth pub with no pretentious folk. Sports on the screen and outdoor seating. No one bothers you, and most of the regular customers are friendly. It's definitely worth a visit

This pub is in an ideal place, first one you see as you leave or arrive in cas train station, unfortunatly its run down and not a pleasent place to be in.

Not a massive draw from first impressions, even less so having visited late one Sunday evening. Waiting for the cancelled train replacement bus service in the rain was the other option. Next time I'll bring a brolly and wait outside.

Rudest owner/staff. Wouldn't bother unless you want a grubby environment and unwelcoming atmosphere. If I could give less than one star, trust me I would.

The landlord in here needs some lessons in politeness and manners I've never met anyone with such a bad attitude. I will never enter this place again

Fair to say I will not be returning to this pub! If there was a 0 star rating I would be choosing this. I went to this pub with someone I support with learning difficulties. Me and my colleague felt a cold atmosphere directed towards the service user as soon as we entered. We got a glass of juice and some crisps for him. We sat in an area where no one else was for him to enjoy his drink and snack peacefully. 20 minutes went by and the service user is still drinking his drink listening to the music that was playing. The manager/member of staff addressed us and said “you can’t be sat there with just a juice I will be getting people in soon so you’ll have to leave” the pub was near enough empty and he was obviously scared of what others thought of his pub and who goes in it! Discriminative attitude and no regards to equality nor respect. Everyone had the right to enjoy something they’ve paid for.

Shockingly bad and an ignorant publican - best avoided. I dropped in after a family treat day shopping and bowling at the nearby Xscape shopping and entertainment outlet. Looking forward to a drink, I popped my head in and asked the 50-something barman (presumably publican) if they took cards (seeing as the govt has spent two years telling us all to eschew cash). The man grunted back that they didn't. I asked him if I could use the bathroom then if he could point me to the nearest cash machine. He rudely grunted that 'toilets are for paying customers' , which I explained I would very soon be once he told me where an ATM was. 'Well yer don't chuffin 'av cash now do yer?' What he didn't realise what that a family of 12 were just outside looking forward to a pub afternoon and making his till go ker-ching. Now you'd think anyone with a bit of sense would have told me where the nearest ATM was and let me use the loo. Not this one. It was so nasty and offputting, and TBH the pub looked pretty flaky and tired inside anyway. But it was also, in contrast to all the lovely people we've met in the Castleford-Pontefract-Wakefield area, almost like he was trying to act up to some crude 'Hale & Pace' stereotype of what Yorkshire people are supposedly like. Visit Castleford folks, see Pontefract castle, enjoy Xscape - but avoid this pub. It might sour your day.

Landlord was rude. I took my disabled client in for a drink and he told us to keep the wheelchair at the side of the pool table and couldn't go in the seated area. The pub was completely empty and plenty of room. The landlord was quite short and had abit of an attitude. (We are paying people so a little respect would have been nice) but saying that it is castleford.

This is the pub where the staff find it acceptable for all the scrubbers and smackheads to make money on the stolen goods from local supermarkets and shops . Thiefs sell it on to other punters to make money to buy drugs etc . That is why this town is getting more rough and more dangerous to walk through in the evening . They steal alcohol bottles and meat from morrisons and aldi and also steal various things from B&M and then take it to pub to sell in there . Staff oblivious to whats happening . Disgusting . Businesses should help each other and not just allow this to happen .

Beer was good but my word, what can I day about the decor. Guess they aren't going after the trendy crowd which is somewhat refreshing. Some killer rock tunes being played though.
