The Star Inn in Exeter

Plush hotel in the centre of Exeter. Very well appointed rooms, friendly staff and fabulous breakfast.

Proper old school fish and chip shop with a small no frills menu. Great value for money, lovely cod and chips, all hot and fresh. Cash only but they do accept bank transfers which is handy.

The last time we visited it was good and we gave you 4 stars. This time is definitely a 5 star review. Reception were welcoming and friendly. The rooms had just undergone a carpet upgrade and it felt really fresh and clean. We did not have chance to try the food, but we did last time and it was superb. We definitely recommend a stay or a meal here. Bonus point ..it's perfectly situated in the town with parking

Very friendly owners, always serve promptly with a smile on their face. Never had any issues with their food, always tastes great and less greasy than some other fish and chip shops in Exeter. We come back here regularly as they are consistent.

So VERY RUDE! Couldn’t believe it. Tried to get a cup of tea here this afternoon with my little boy. But left after experiencing some very nasty staff. We went to the Riverside cafe just along the river, where the staff and atmosphere was excellent. AVOID
