AGAIN, got my order wrong when got home. Phoned up not the best helpful over the phone

They get your order wrong every time no matter how many times they read it back to you and never correct there mistakes

Yummy veggie chow mein, egg fried rice and spring rolls for good prices. There is also customer parking. Looks like it's ran by a hard-working family.

I would prefer to leave a lower rating to put others off from ordering but this would be unfair on the service and food. Both exceptional.

Used to order at least once, sometimes twice a week. Got the order wrong today. Literally half of the order missing. Terrible customer service. Rude and expected us to reorder and pay for missed items. Eastern Kitchen and mayflower are much better. These guys were just used for fast delivery times. Mediocre food with good deliveries. Zero customer service if an issue arises. Now avoiding. Btw. Star backwards spells Rats

Probably the worst Chinese take away meal I’ve ever had! Very tasteless and greasy. Delivery was nearly two hours.

Beat the previous two hour wait - (now 2 and quarter hours and still waiting) - rang three times - totally useless - shame I can’t give 0 stars - will never bother again

I've been ordering from here for years and this evening from 6 till 8:30 I had to wait over 2-hours for some disgusting food that I've never had from there before absolutely shocking whatever they doing they need to change it back to the way it was it's meant to be authentic Chinese food the chicken wings were burnt with no flavour not good enough for me but good enough for the foxes threw them out the window

Always order from the star but I left the review because they forgot one portion of rice on my latest order, this was re delivered in under 30 minutes. Very impressed from a loyal customer.

So yesterday I hadn't eaten anything all day I went and got my usual and normally I would always say this is the best Chinese in Oxford but I was proved completely wrong after I ate not even half a big spring roll and now have food poisoning and not been able to eat or drink anything since, Today I decided to ring the Chinese to let them to know just so it doesn't happen to anyone else because I wouldn't want anyone to go through what I've had to go through the past 24 hours to then have the owner argue with me down the phone and tell me it wasn't the food that gave me food poisoning so I now decided to let people know the truth. Her customer service was absolutely disgusting and I won't ever be going back there!

Food came wrong the first time, they then delivered the rest of the food 45 minutes later when the rest was cold. Unfortunately we will now be going elsewhere as this has happened to us a few times.

Have been using The New Star since an awful incident with The Mayflower. The food is hot, tasty, and we very rarely wait more than 40 minutes for delivery. Very reasonably priced - only downside is the cash only payments which can be inconvenient.

Love the giant spring rolls and salt and pepper squid.

Why are you only taking cash payments for delivery when I offered to pay by card for delivery tomorrow over phone? No card machine? Really?

Good food..But experience of a delivery and the order being wrong has put me off. When I called to explain the woman was nothing but rude. I ordered garlic chicken pieces and apparently ordered something Hong Kong Style? Last time I'll order from them

Ordered from here for delivery on a Thursday night at 5.30pm. food turned up 2 hours later, cold and one dish looked like the driver had sat on it. Phoned them various times to ask where our food was, wasn't offered an apology or anything, just told the first time (after over an hour) "your food will be next out when our driver returns... Then after another 50 minutes "he's already left..." ... No apology and they still charges us for the delivery charge. I'd say the least they could have done is apologise and take off the delivery fee. Absolutely disgusting service and the food was cold and rubbish.

Very good every time, I've been eating out of here for the last 3 years. Friendly service, generally fresh ingredients . 5 stars. Beef curry highly recommended.

Terrible they forgot my order was rude and abusive when I rang them a hour and half later. My children were hungry because we had banked on this to arrive had to order from some whear else in the end shame I had to give them a 1 star rating as wouldn't go down any less, never again

We always used to use you every Saturday night until your food became unedable, disgusting even, never again, go poison someone else 😡😡😡😡

The service from this take away is rubbish. Miss part of the order send out wrong food and don't seem to care. People in the Kidlington area would be better giving it a miss. Try the Mayflower better service better food and more happy staff. Avid the star if you want a nice meal!

Pretty awful, we have been a great and regular customer for 5 years and made an order. Unfortunately we were 40p short for an order over £30 and were turned away.

Good food but boy the price just went up with the new owners!
