The Stag & Three Horse Shoes in Dudley

We were seated accordingly to meet our needs (x2 high chairs) We ordered drinks whilst choosing our meals. Food was lovely, correct order, hot and all came out at the same time! Service was great, especially attentive to the children, which is nice! We Will be back again!

Not a good experience, first I really do not understand if the staff can show you to your table and then bring meals, try and help on phone, why carnt they stand away from the table and take your order? We waited a long time for meals, when they arrived the steak I ordered was well done I had ordered medium rare, and the nachos sauce was to spicey, I would have sent the steak back but we hadn’t got the time to wait, I have been to the stag many times but found it very disappointing this time

We travelled many miles especially to visit The Royal Oak that is a 1/2 of a mile away from The Stag And Three Horseshoes, we were greeted by a rottweiler at the door. Attitude was horrid, insisted we download an app, l had my phone stolen & the wife's battery was flat. We were turned away cold & hungry. Onto The Stag And Three Horseshoes where we were welcomed & ate well even without downloading an app. Food was not the greatest but value for money it was good, the lady who attended to us was lovely.

Very good service received had classic mixed grill and a pint and enjoyed it. It filled me up. Friendly and helpful staff. Well done

Had a meal for my birthday with family and it really was the worst, the food was cold and of poor quality with a skin on the sauce. I ate some of this food as we were all hungry and I didn't want to upset ny son-in-law as he was kind enough to pay for it. The government is trying to encourage us to eat out but not at these standards.

The last time i went to this place I was taking my Mrs to the pictures and we in here early to have a beer and something to eat, unfortunatley big mistake and |I wont go there again.The staff were rude and slow serving people and I ordered a mixed grill and the wife ordered a langsang when the food arrived both were cold and the salad on the side of both plates looked as if it had been throghed around the floor.Disgusting and should be closed until they can get someone who can cook and train the staff correctly

Ordered our meals first and got served last, complained that not only did we get served last but our meals didn't even come out together so we didnt eat together and when my wifes meal came out it was not same as ordered. When I asked to see the manager he said that someone else had our order but we were the only two meals ordered alike. The manager and staff were totally disinterested and rude. Will deffo not use this place again

We went Christmas Eve as a family treat, we booked in October and chose what we wanted in advance, What was the point, it took 1 hour for the starters to come to us, I had mushroom as the starter I knew they were going to be deep fried but the oil must have been so dirty, they had a fishy taste and they must have been sitting on the side waiting for the rest of the family starter to be cooked (normally one bite and you get a release of juicey mushroom) I got just oil terrible. I think the charged the oil in the frier same time as when I booked and must of cooked them as well. The main course we all had steak, the waitress came to clear our starter plates and asked how we wanted them, 2 rare to medium and 1 medium to well done 3 very well done came back we didn’t want to wait to have them changed so we all had our best teeth in, next came the Ice cream how could that go wrong but the waitress brought a caramel bar or should I say what looked like instant whip, I did explain I want to ice cream she gave me a dirty look told me I was wrong brought me back a pudding with claggy sponge and ice cream We didn’t leave a tip

over the past 3 years, quality has become an issue with this establishment, wish for it to be howm it was cuz right now its bad

As good as pub food goes this was worth the money - 2 for £9 on a select menu - decent grub - better than some places that charge £30 just for a main. Don't get me wrong it's not A la Carte but it's pub food at its best! Staff were friendly, clean toilets and tables ... can't ask for more!

Ordered a roast dinner and never again !! Frozen veg a small morsel pot of gravy chicken was dry like chewing a sandal! Never again

2 Stars because staff at the bar didn’t bother to tell us there was a 40 minute wait for food ! Yes it was Sunday mid afternoon, they did have a baby shower on, I understand that but if you can’t have extra staff on or cook the food any quicker please just have the courtesy to tell customers that there could be a wait. There’s nothing worse than not knowing and when 1/2 hour approaches you begin to wonder. Food in fairness was decent apart from my chips didn’t seem freshly cooked, like they’d been left standing. The lady serving us when we’d asked about our food was full of apologies and agreed it was not good enough to have not been told. Staff training issue I think. Not worthy of even 3 stars because I don’t like waiting unnecessarily when we could have chosen to go elsewhere ?

Food was bought out wrong twice, most of it was cold and didn’t look appetising at all. My 8 year old daughter wanted a chicken burger and was given a spicy burger. Would not use again.

Called in at 2.50 pm for a late lunch whilst waiting for my son to finish school. The main area of the pub was pleasant enough but the internal doors and walls leading to the toilets are dirty and tatty and in desperate need of repainting.The menus seem to offer plenty of choice and we settled on 5 small plates for £14.The bar staff seemed pleasant and polite but a little short handed and considering the time it took a while to get served.When our food eventually arrived, the presentation left a lot to be desired. The plates were enamelled, not a problem really but they always remind me if camping with cubs as a kid!Each plate came garnished with one rather browning Little Gem lettuce leaf. That was it!The torpedo prawns were nicely cooked. Crispy, but without the prawns being over cooked. It came served with sweet chilli sauce.The beer battered salt and pepper mushroom came with a BBQ sauce. The mushrooms again were nicely cooked, crisp on the outside but the mushrooms still firm inside.The halloumi fries were ok and again came with sweet chilli sauce.The potato skins with cheese came with sour cream dip. Both were completely tasteless. The potato had no taste, the cheese on it must have been the mildest imaginable because if I hadn't seen it I would have said there was none on them.The nachos were so thin that you could not pick them up without breaking. The sour cream was tasteless and put underneath the cheese (tasteless), tomato salsa (dry and overdone) and guacamole (the tasteless stuff out of a bottle), the jalapeños however were very tasty!Would I come for a proper meal? Based on today then no. However, I will say I saw a server taking a plate of fish and chips to one table and it did look nice!

Cleaner singing really loud. In front of quite a few customers. Unbelievable. She was walking round swinging a dirty mop around whilst waiting for our food. And didn't care whether anyone liked her singing or not. Thank God she left before dinner service arrived. Breakfast again (No thanks)

Main part of meal was ok although the side salad was some what of a disgrace with soggy brown lettuce.

Chose the Grills 1 mixed grill 3 surf and turf Cooked as we wished we also had a sweet Large 2 Fudge Cake and Ice cream And 2 Black Forest Sundaes Price wise was Very good Value and Enjoyed by us all

Have just returned from a family lunch and was disgusted with the service from a male member of staff. We had sat by the open window but when our food came as it was quite windy and flies were coming in I closed the window. I was immediately told by this male to open the window as the gaffer (his words not mine) said the window had to be open at all times. When I paid for the meal I queried this with the same member of staff to again be told the gaffer said the window was to be left open. I said I felt this was wrong and said we would of opened it after we had eaten our food he then said the waitress had to have it open cos she got hot. His tone of voice on both conversations was disgusting. Think management need to train their staff in the art of customer service. It's a shame really as the food was really good but in light of how we were treated we will definitely not return anytime soon!!!

Disappointing meal and service. Ordered surf and turf with t bone steak. Ordered steak rare and got a medium to well done steak. No waitress came to see if food was ok. And they did not seem happy in their work. One was more interested in talking to some bloke about what he had been up to and his misses.

We have been here many times, the food has always been good very well priced, It is a sports bar and well-liked by families. It has some terrible reviews in my mind a bit unjustified....

Nothing to write home about but it served our purpose! One of the orders was wrong but we didn’t make a fuss. Some places & this is one of them need to make a better effort reference gluten free! 2 of the meals were good so I was told! A busy place but nothing stood out. Fortunately I did check the bill as we had been overcharged which was rectified & an apology received.

The sizzling pub sent me a free pint as it was my birthday. I have not been in to this place for over a year due to poor service and poor beer. My pint of Carling was flat and not cold, this was due to been poured in to a hot glass. Nothing changes here, still poor service with flat larger.

We went for an impromptu meal and was pleasantly surprised by the quality of food and nice service we received. It was packed which suggests it can't be that bad a place and everyone seemed happy enough. Nice decor inside and the value was good too. Basically don't believe the mood hoovers ... this place is worth a try.

Lovely food, friendly staff Was my sons birthday and the staff sang with us, even moved us as the pub was loud and my granddaughter was getting upset

went here last night for a family meal it was the worst meal i have i had bangers and mash which came in a bowl and dryed up the others meal were steaks were tough very hard to eat tolets were very dirty staff needs more training

We have visited here several times in the past but having been there recently the place seems to have gone really down hill! It was a late Saturday afternoon and it wasn't busy. We ordered three meals and waited....and waited...two were eventually bought out, one of which were wrong (it's a bit worrying that staff can't tell the difference between chicken nuggets and scampi). We sent it back and then was left with the one meal, it would have been courteous of the staff to offer to but this meal under the heat lamps to keep it warm, but as the staff member just walked off and it was already starting to get cold I had to start eating on my own....we waited longer but with no sign of our other two meals coming out of the kitchen. It was only when we went to enquire at the kitchen door (as there were several members of staff standing there chatting between themselves) that they actually remembered our other meals and were eventually bought out...the food itself was basic and not really value for money for what we paid for it. It was only after the plates were collected, we were offered an apology for the mix up and delay- all be it a very half hearted flimsy one.

Early evening meal was rather nice and not too expensive. Service good, helpful staff and a nice, clean venue.

There seems to be two TripAdvisor listing for this place, one contains better reviews than the other. I thought I'd better post a review in this one seeing as my latest experience was dire.

Been to this place a few times over the years

Went here on a sunday afternoon. We booked the small room as it was a surprise for my brothers 60th birthday. There were 15 adults and 4 children. The food came out very effiecently and no one complained about the food. Would highly recommend this pub. The staff were very pleasant and helpful.

Had a sharing starter, everything on there was overcooked. All the chips were overcooked, the lasagne was burnt around the edges. Well done - the pie and fajitas were nice. Everything else was poor.

This pub is a disgrace , it has the greatest opportunity to do well , and it also has the luxury of having sky and BT Sports against its sister pub down the road the Royal Oak But now kids rule they have a skating area sat lunchtime while the front is getting ready for the evening entertainment, so kids rule in this pub ! And the managers are happy with it . They are not interested in the football , local team playing on SKY so they show a London game ?? What's that all about . The kids even play on the gambling machines to give the parents a break !!! Ps try getting served it's an adventure , used to be brilliant service ; who is in charge !!! Pleased to be heading back south tomorrow at least I can go back to London and watch midland games :) on my lap top

Mash and bourbon sauce bang on but worst 10 oz rump steak ever. Never coming again, even for the sauce

I've been to this pub three times, twice with my partner and her son, and once just my partner and I.

Have seen recent reviews and thought , yes it's not the best but it's not that bad OR is it , it's not my local but happy to go there for the sky football , the area manager of this chain kept SKY FOOTBALL here and cancelled it in the sister pub at the Royal Oak down the road . I WENT to watch the football on sky yesterday, they have four tv's with sky in the bar area so I went to the bar area only be told that the four tv,s would not have the volume on for the football as people were listening to music!!! The place was nearly empty and why have the SKy FOOTBALL advert if your not showing the football experience in full . the guy then suggested I go around the corner to a tv near the back door and he would put the volume on for me on that tv, it was freezing near the door and subsequently nobody was sitting there and it was the smallest of tv, I left after half a pint to go back to my local , What's going on !!! Why pay for SKY TV AND not utilise it , give the licence for sky football back to the Royal Oak where the service and atmosphere is better , there is a place for music but it should not over ride the views of customers , not everyone wants to hear music. if you advertise sport on tv let's have sport in full. ( NB there should still be a place for music, a quiet area and a tv area )Sadly I doubt senior managers involved at the STAG look at trip adviser which is a shame as they could improve the service and by responding to reviews gives them the opportunity to give their point of view about the issues raised . Take guidance from other professional who do accept Trip Advisor and their views , and subsequently respond to views ::::trip advisor is here to stay and people do check it out before they go to places .

Me, my fiancé and parents visited here for a nice pub meal as the chain of pubs sizzling are normally okay; well let's just say this place is awful. Firstly the people this place attracts, well they're just disgusting, the language was appalling, especially when in the eating area of the pub they are doing the knee's up and shouting c**t so freely. Then the food came after 50 minutes of waiting, to be given 7 chips on our plate, I know it's cheap, but seriously after all that wait and poor ambience? Another bowl of chips were brought out to apologise for the lack of chips. The food was acceptable, but then we went to get another drink due to drinking it all before our meal, and the glass is attached in which my fiancés pint was brought in and he certainly doesn't wear lipstick. The place needs to be shut down.

Unapologetic about late food - 45 min wait - they're only one reheating it, missing food, burnt food, noisy and offensive diners and lack of toilet roll. Needing the loo was a genuinely traumatic experience as I want to ask for loo roll and didn't get any. Went to the other loo which stank - walked through to the first toilets. Please watch your hands and avoid the faeces on the sanitary disposal unit. It's a cheap pub you don't expect much - but maybe a bit more than this.

Lovely food and service - waitress Caroline always really friendly and lovely. Always makes an effort to speak.

Thought we would go for breakfast it came out on a skillet everything was swimming in grease it was disgusting keep well away not recommend

This is a pub you should keep well away .from he moment you walk in everthink is just disgusting . From the time you have to wait for a drink to getting the most disgusting food and to make it worse the so called manager came over asking was it all right only to be told no it's crap frozen chips on are plates .. should have gone to Iceland ..if we wanted this the food .was worse than anything we have ever eaten out and we eat out a lot this pub needs a complete over hall of everthink from the staff to the decor inside a complete and utter hovel of a pub stay away

I did not have a good experience here, the food was not good quality but fairly cheep. As you can see from the picture, even the fly didn't want the food!

Good value for money, quick service, varied menus-something for everyone. Tasty food.

7 of us visited the stag in Halesowen on bank holiday Monday around 3 o clock. We easily found a table for us to sit together. You have to order food and drink at the bar as there is no waitress service other than bringing out the food. Our burgers were slightly over cooked however was still edible and lovely tasting. The only down fall of the restaurant is that children aren't allowed after 9pm and if the football is on the restaurant can turn into more of a rowdy pub. The price of the meal are really reasonable some meals as cheap as £4. Car parking is free and there is always spaces available to park. Recommended this place for a reasonable meal out.

We visited as a family on Monday evening. The serve reasonably priced, average pub grub. We had a share starter platter, which was enough for the 5 of us. Some dishes are served on sizzling platters. I ordered steak fajitas, they served tortillas that were more like solid discs than wraps! They were rock solid but they replaced them quickly.

Me and my family decided to attend the stag as its locally known for a relaxing Sunday meal, while the waitresses and bar staff were very pleasant that was more than what could be said for the food we received, I opted for the classic mixed grill with the ribeye, this is served on a skillet and the entire dish tasted burnt, I eat my steak m/rare which is how this was served but with a distinct burnt taste, this was also the same for every item on the plate, sausage, chicken, gammon, mushroom and tomato, I chose to have a jacket in place of chips which was hard in places, all in all not enjoyable at all, my wife chose the fajitas which was firstly served under cooked with the powder just poured on top and the peppers almost raw, we sent this back and when it returned the chicken was like plastic and un enable, my lad chose a sirloin which was the best out of a bad lot but again on the skillet had the distinct burnt taste. I'm not sure if these guys don't wash the skillets but it really isn't pleasant. We don't eat out all that often and when we do we try to enjoy it as much as poss but I'm afraid this isn't the case when eating at the Stag. Let's hope they can improve soon.

Arrived at 10.15. There was nor 1 customer in here, not anyone serving. I waited 5 mins and had to walk around to find someone to serve me. She was pleasant with the exception of calling me 'sweetheart' after every single sentence. Bluuurhhhhhh.

We love this family friendly pub. Excellent food and always has a good warm atmosphere. Food portions are generous and reasonably priced and the menu changes fairly regularly.

Had a big family gathering and the venue was fantastic we had a great time. They had a great selection of drinks and the food menu has a very good choices.

We came here on a Friday as a couple to eat/drink...my large cod wasn't cooked in the middle and so I sent it bk, again the second cod was raw inside, so I just left it..my husbands steak on his mixed grill was burnt to a crisp and the lady bar staff that served us rude. We won't be back again!!

Had a meeting here. Had time for breakfast. Served on a hot skillet was fab loads on their and that was the regular English breakfast. Great price and £1 for unlimited tea

The food is great and the food is really good. The waiters are really polite. I had the big pot of muscles and it was really delicious it acne with bread and butter and came in a white wine sauce. For starter I had bread and olives and it was brilliant. For pudding I had a apple and rhubarb sundae. The pub is really brilliant and lovely back garden.

This is a friendly pub. It's part of a big chain and the food on offer reflects this. It's adequate, but hardly exciting.

Go to the Stag occasionally with friends from work,foods always very good And service is good.Nice comfortable restaurant .

Really great visit with quick, tasty, delicious food! It was also really great value for money (£2.69 for a full breakfast). Will definitely be coming back!

The management of M&B; need to look at the pubs function. A really lovely pub being allowed to go to the dogs. Scruffy, untidy etc. Who is running this pub?. Unclean toilets, scruffy marks all over the pub and dirty tables. Ages waiting for quite bland food. Tables left with loads of used crockery. Some of the bar staff good, however some just not interested. We just gave up in the end, paid the bill and left. This could be the most wonderful serving pub & its not rocket science. This is not difficult just sort it out. This episode is also a Saturday that should be at its best ???.

Good food great value very nice staff here will be coming back soon I had a sizzling steak and was very well cooked a great place to have some food and a drink best of both
