Stable Café and Community Space in Newmarket has been a cherished part of family life for us for over 8 years now! From the very beginning, it’s been a welcoming and homely space for our family and local community. I first came for their breastfeeding support groups in 2016, which were an absolute lifeline in those early days of motherhood. Over the years, I've enjoyed their homely food – always fresh, hearty, and affordable – as well as their brilliant party hire space, perfect for celebrations of all kinds. What sets Stable Café apart is how genuinely child-friendly it is. The thoughtful setup makes it easy for parents to relax while little ones enjoy themselves. It truly feels like a space designed for everyone to feel comfortable and cared for. This place is more than a café – it’s a supportive community hub that has given me and so many others countless wonderful memories. If you’re looking for somewhere warm, welcoming, and affordable, this is it!

Over the last 5 years this has been my go to place that ticks all the boxes - I have 2 young children so to be able to have a hot drink, delicious homemade food at a very reasonable price in the comfort and environment that is completely catered for children has been a god send. Would highly recommend!

As a local parent, I cannot recommend The Stable enough! It is such a welcoming and family friendly venue. The staff are always accommodating, there’s room for prams and a life, making the space accessible with little ones in tow. The play area is a great addition and keeps the children entertained while still feeling safe and it’s great it’s tucked away from the main cafe area so other diners can enjoy a quieter experience. The food is home cooked and so affordable.

Lovely place. Good prices. It's a lot better astomophe than the previous manger. The brownies are scrumptious.

1 star says it all a non event since June left. Running a place with volunteers in a recipe for disaster as number of days closed shoes.

Great place to eat and quite cheaply

Nice place, had a piece of homemade quiche and it was scrummy. Proppa cuppa, beats the chain places in my opinion.

Awesome little cafe with some of the best coffee in the area. It's fantastic to help a local community centre too rather than a high street brand!

Very nice spot for a coffee and slice of cake in town. I came a few months previously and it’s had a nice modernisation since then.

Fantastic place to go for a coffee or meal especially with kids. There is a lovely area for kids to place and the food is really good and such good value. Would definitely recommend.

We sadly don't visit The Stable much now, but were regulars when we lived in Newmarket. It was such a wonderful, welcoming space, particularly when my son was born. Play groups and support groups are held here and they have a little play area. It is lovely to mix with all the regulars of different ages. The staff are delightful and we miss seeing them. The food is great too!

Went in for a cup of tea last Saturdaywhen it finally arrived the tea was stewed as a result of very slow service and the obvious cheap t bag undrinkable the food ok just the person dealing with drinks too slow. Let them clean the toilets

Good space to keep your distance. The food looked very good but I couldn't stay to sample it.

Once again meal here absolutely delicious. Lamb shank. Served with a smile and plenty of it. One o'clock and the place was buzzing with children in their play area and people eating hearty meals. Many thanks to all the staff who so obviously work well together as a team. Visited again today just for coffee, same good atmosphere friendly service and frequented by many customers

Always a nice welcome meals are very good value. I like salad and chicken goujourns Husband changes every time we go Would say try won't be sorry .

Cheap food, great for young children.

Great quality meals or have a coffee and cake. Great community cafe with lovely voluntary staff. Well supervised and clean. Separate play area for children in another bright room. All in all a good place to meet friends and have a substantial meal at a good price.
