Quaint authentic cafe, we came here after food for a late night Affogato - really nice vibe and great service. Next time I’ll be trying the pizza.

A lovely cafe in the centre of town. Exceptionally friendly staff who made sure we were looked after while we waited for our table. Food was equally good, particularly as it was prepared and cooked in the smallest kitchen I’ve ever seen. Would definitely eat there again.

After a few trips to Keswick always seeing this place very busy, finally had chance to check it out last week. Amazing food all round, with having some of the best tapas I’ve ever had, especially the pesto & mozzarella dish. Staff and the atmosphere were very pleasant. Will definitely visit again!

Absolutely amazing! We came here last night and waited outside with a drink for a while in the sunshine and it was SO worth the wait. The service was great, everyone was so friendly. The food was delicious, there were three of us and we shared the special pizza, Camembert, chorizo, prawns, and the curry, and finished off with an affogato and it was all lovely. Can’t recommend enough. We had 2 alcoholic drinks each and all that food and the bill came to £110. We’ll be coming again!

Very difficult to get a table in the evenings, but when you it's so good.

A cute little restaurant with an out standing ambiance and the staff… food was really amazing and really good selections of drinks. The Pizza’s and Tapas we ordered were all spot on.

You have to queue for a table, but lovely beer to drink whilst waiting. Fabulous tapas. Despite people waiting absolutely no sense of being rushed and enjoyed an espresso martini cocktail at the end of the meal. Will return next time we are in Keswick.

I visited today with expectation to have a drink or and a snack- having been here before over the years , me and my husband approached a table with two others to sit down for our drinks, but was refused their permission to sit there. Whilst paying , we explained to the staff about the situation but they weren’t bothered and told us that it was ok. We decided to leave - will never return until .

The tapas were delicious!!!! Cocktails were awesome, nachos were also a highlight. Pizza base was a bit dissapointing but everything else was delicious

Fantastic pizza and tapas restaurant with excellent cocktails. We liked everything about The Orange Square - friendly staff, great food, relaxed but buzzy atmosphere. Will return to Keswick just to go again!

You can't book Square Orange, but we got in for drinks only at around 8pm. I liked the craft hells. Nice vibe and decor, worth searching out whilst in Keswick.

We really enjoy The Square Orange as we have been before. My husband and I had cocktails and shared the figs and pizza and it was all delicious. The staff are friendly and attentive and the setting is lovely.

Dropped in mid afternoon for some food. Friendly service, interesting menu of tapas, pizza and nachos. Generous portions of tapas. Meatballs and vine leaves were very tasty. Will return!

Overall I had a good evening with my family in this small cafè/restaurant. Food was OK, although in all honesty I wouldn't say so great as many reviews say. I think what makes the difference in this place is the friendly atmosphere. Just be prepared to wait a long time before you are seated. The place is small but it is in high demand. The wait however will stimulate your appetite, so you'll enjoy your food more. The only thing I really did not like is how they managed the 4 of us (two adults and 2 young children) while waiting. We occupied the two stools and the bar table right in front of the entrance door while waiting as anybody else did before us. I also ordered a beer while waiting. However after 10 mins we were asked to leave the spot for a "couple" letting us think the couple wanted to have their food on the bar table. We understand business is business so we just left but this forced us to move outside in the cold weather with the children since there was not much space inside. I then saw that two ladies took our place. They were just drinking bear as we were doing and did not order any food. After we were seated, also the two ladies were moved to a bigger table and that is when they started ordering their food. I totally missed the rationale for asking us to leave the bar table and stools for them. I had the strong impression we were treated unfairly but I didn't want to ruin our night and just pretended not to have seen that. Apart from that, we had fun and enjoyed our night. Cheers!

Fun tiny cafe bar. Seems to be always busy. The pizza selection is great, especially if you like a thin crust. Small plates are yummy. Good selection of drinks. Reasonable prices and a great atmosphere.

I’d read about the Square Orange previously and came across it by chance on Saturday. We had tapas, pizza, drinks, coffee and dessert, all of which were made with quality ingredients and flavoursome 😋. We will definitely return.

Been here a few times and each time has been fantastic. Pizza is great and they do fantastic tapas! The only issue is that you often have to wait quite a while to get seated, due to how busy it is, and also because of how small the cafe is, it feels quite tight and crammed. Despite that fact, though, the staff manage to do an excellent job and once you get seated, food is never too long! It's absolutely worth waiting for!

We visited here after it was recommended by a local. Tapas was good - pizza was really basic. The bases are really crispy - almost biscuit like and the toppings were very tomato sauce and a few bits of mozzarella really. For the price I think they were small. Small things like colouring sheets and crayons would go a long way to keeping the kids happy. I guess it’s probably not meant to be a family establishment. I’d go back for tapas but not for pizza. Staff were friendly.

Great food,great atmosphere and super friendly,helpful staff.....best place to eat in Keswick. Unfortunately the waiting time once sat down for food has become unacceptable.We know that you often have to wait for a table...we waited 40mins happily chatting with a glass of wine but to then sit down and have to wait another 35 mins for pizza and a few tapas dishes means that we won't rush back.

Awesome atmosphere, awesome food, boss team. We have eaten and drank here many times over the years, constantly brilliant. You may struggle for table as it’s only small and always busy but it’s well worth the wait. Good coffee and excellent selection of alcohol. My only offering of constructive feedback would be to shape the pizza bases by hand and ditch the roller. The crusts are far too thin more of a flatbread than a pizza (toppings are on point!). Perhaps you simply don’t have the space behind the tiny bar but if possible increasing the ball size and leave a little extra cushion on the crust would move you up to the premier pizza league! Regardless the best joint for miles around!

We had lovely Tapas here on Sunday the 16th February. We were warmly welcomed and so were our two dogs. The food and service was amazing with fantastic vegan options. We will definitely be back and I would highly recommend eating here if you’re in the area.

The food was good but 45 mins to provide Pizza was a little too long for me. Price of wine ridiculous.

Absolutely superb bar/cafe and would highly recommend it to anybody visiting Keswick. There are no reservations so we had to wait 20 minutes or so for our table but that was no problem for us as there a couple of little tables near the back of the cafe. We were tempted to 6 Tapas dishes and a pizza to share that were superb, some of the best Tapas I have ever eaten. The atmosphere and service were great and I will definitely try and come back if I am in Keswick again.

Best place on keswick! Very small and usually a wait for a table but does not disappoint. Very child friendly but no space for a pram. Baby changing available in the toilets.

Really nice cosy venue with an fantastic atmosphere. Food was excellent, as was the service from the friendly staff. Great selection of food and beer. We would not hesitate to return here next time we're in town.

Its a busy little place but the food and service make everything worth it. Food was very tasty. Would definitely recommend it.

Had a lovely time at this restaurant! The staff were friendly, and the food was tasty and felt authentic. We had tapas, which was delicious, though a bit heavy and oily—could’ve used a dairy component to balance it out. Definitely recommend trying one of their refreshing drinks! The window table was a nice touch. Would definitely go back!

Absolutely perfect from start to finish. Food and service. We had nachos with chilli, meat balls, potato bravas and ciabatta with olive oil and balsamic vinegar to die for, everything was excellent. The service is flawless and the atmosphere is welcoming. Thank you, we will be back.

Not to be dramatic but the best patatas bravas I've had in my entire life.

First impression was lukewarm. Very cramped inside and seated near door but soon everything improved. The waiter was very friendly and knowledgeable. We explained one of our party was egg intolerant and what she should avoid. He said no problem, give me your whole order and I will check each dish is suitable. He did exactly that. Wonderful service. The food we ordered was a large selection of tapas . It was superb. Not one weak dish. No it’s not the cheapest place but you get what you pay for and it was worth every penny. Will definitely be returning soon

Everything was great, the food was delicious, I liked the toilet signs, very friendly. Because some toilets in other places require codes, but this is a human thing, so this method makes me feel warm

This is a great place to visit! We go to Keswick every year & make sure we go to the Square Orange at least once during our stay. The staff are always friendly & on their game. You may have to wait for a table but it is definitely worth the wait. It's not cheap but again we have always felt the food, the experience & the quirkiness is worth it.

Spectacularly rude waitress - Luke warm overpriced mulled wine and decent thin pizza. Average hot chocolate and flat Coca Cola.

Fabulous coffee delicious cake and food looks amazing. Unfortunately we couldn't sample the food as we had dinner at the hotel but would definitely recommend and we be back on our next visit.

Been a couple of times now and thought I should leave a review. Stopped for lunch on a Monday in November and it was still full. I had the nachos (again) and with a beer, it's a good filling lunch, very tasty. Service pleasant and the place is a lot less plastic than many of the bars in Keswick. I will return.

Absolutely spot on. Best food I have had for a long time and the guy that served us was brilliant.

What a lovely place to eat. My husband and I had tapas, and our children had a pizza each. The food was delicious. We also had our dog with us. I am a gluten intolerant vegetarian and felt like i had quite a few options on the menu. Whilst we were there a small queue formed outside, so I'd recommend going early tea time. The lady was doing her best to find seats for everyone. The atmosphere was busy but happy and friendly.

A lovely warm and welcoming place for a good coffee

Excellent food , very busy but managed to squeeze in.. Ate in 430pm Saturday and lots of other diners , all had empty plates. We'll recommend.

Today my friend and I found this wee gem of a place in Keswick. My friend is gluten free and often we struggle to find places that have a good choice of GF options - other than baked potato and mushroom risotto 🤦‍♀️. However today was different. There was an abundance of GF options on their tapas menu. All made to order served piping hot and very very yummy😋. The staff were friendly and helpful and the atmosphere was great. Only a small place but it packs a punch ☺️

Went to The Square Orange for dinner prior to going to The Alhambra cinema to watch a film. They have a vegan menu and label which wines are vegan. Chose a bottle of white wine, padron peppers, patatas bravas, mushroom, red pepper and vegan cheese pizza and vegan nachos. The food was gorgeous especially the nachos, good sized portions and service was fabulous too. It's a busy place but it's worth the wait and I'll definitely revisit when next in Keswick.

This was one of the best meals we’ve had. We were so lucky to join the queue at the right time, it really made the stay. And so reasonable.

Arrived early for a coffee and despite not being open they let us sit in until they were ready to serve. My husband is very critical of his coffee but he really enjoyed it, and nice to see it served in a larger mug than a coffee cup. My Rooibos came served in a fabulous cast iron tea pot. Nice vibe to the place and friendly staff.

Good food but quite busy at peak times

The food was incredible. Really reasonably priced for what you get but the hospitality, staff and atmosphere staff sets this place apart. This quite easily jumped into my list of favourite places to eat and I can’t wait to go back. There is a wait to be seated but it’s more than worth it! Wow

The best vegan tapas and pizza I’ve ever had. Plenty of options with a vegan menu. Fabulous.

Never experienced such bad service. We were kept waiting outside in the rain when we arrived, on time, for our booking. When we were given a table it took 10 minutes for a menu to arrive with no offer of drinks. We sat, completely ignored, for another 10 minutes, still no drinks so we left. The place was almost empty too. Don't bother. The response from the owner is a lie. We didn't arrive early at all.

A super little pub/cafe. A great atmosphere. Prices a little lively, but then again this is Keswick.

We had excellent pizzas here. The service is quick and very friendly, prices are good, even the music was great! Lovely atmosphere, would definitely recommend this place to anyone looking for a drink or something to eat. They dont take reservations.

We had lunch here today, 4 plates of tapas and some drinks. We weren't expecting much from the food to be honest, but each dish was perfectly cooked and full of flavour, really impressed. Dog friendly too so our JRT was welcome and even got a biscuit.

Me and my husband went at the weekend on the off chance that we would get a table and we got one straight away, service was amazing, the staff are so busy but still make time to check everything is ok. Food and drinks came to us so quickly which is great when your hungry. The food along with the atmosphere is fabulous.

We called in for a late lunch a d weren't disappointed. It was extremely busy which we sort of expected as we've been before and know how good the food is. It's also dog friendly which is important to us. We were told about a short wait for food straight away but didn't mind a little wait. Food was really tasty, portions a healthy size and well priced. Vegetarian options available which are full of flavour.

Well worth the wait for a table, take a good coat so you can enjoy a drink outside while you wait. So worth it, fabulous place

Fabulous spot for a coffee and cake reward for a long day of hiking. The coffee was good but the cake was insane! A caramel egg inside a chocolate brownie/cookie thing, maybe more calories than I spent on my hike but more than worth it, an absolute taste sensation. 100% incredible.

I called here a few times in one day and the staff were universally excellent. Decent beer too, which is rare in Keswick.

We've been to this pub many times and it's always great. Waiting for a table is worth it, I recommend the nachos with pulled meat and session i.p.a.

Spent the evening in here with a few drinks and some food. Could not fault anything, we had several dishes and shared everything between us both where nothing disappointed. Quite a small bar and was very busy but that just added to the atmosphere.

Our date night at orange square cafe was fantastic! And the young smiley, bubbly waitress Lara was incredibly attentive although she was ran off her feet being the only waitress working on such a busy night! We were both very impressed by the quality of the pizza and it reminded us of a true authentic Italian pizza. We 100% recommend this place, and the waitress, Lara really made our night special.

We found this place on our last visit to Keswick 6 months ago and couldn’t wait to go back. It didn’t disappoint! We had to wait for a table which we expected and didn’t mind, we stood at the bar and had a drink and a chat to the barman Adam. Got a table within about 20 minutes, and ordered our food. We shared 3 tapas dishes of meatballs, patata bravas & chorizo along with a garlic bread with mozzarella and a #6 pizza with n’duja and burrata cheese. Honestly some of the best tapas we’ve had and we’ve had our fair share. The pizza is so light, fresh and tasty. We already can’t wait to come back for the amazing food and great service. Well done to Adam he’s an asset to your team with his friendly attitude, you can tell he loves his job which makes all the difference.

Me and my partner visited on our first night staying in Keswick. 30 minutes walk from our campsite (Castlerigg). Had the loveliest time. Tapas was incredible, especially the homemade meatballs, and the staff were so welcoming and made our visit extra amazing. Would definitely recommend!

Bustling little pizza & tapas place. Odd pizza dough, really really thin, felt like eating a water biscuit rather than a pizza base. If you like super thin pizza things the one for you. Pizzas a little small, and very little tomato sauce. Anchovy pizza isn’t the Italian style (salted anchovies), it’s the oily marinaded white type anchovy. Tapas good, small portion of patatas bravas, chorizo a little over cooked. Great service and only a short wait for a table even though it was full.

Best place for coffee in Keswick! Friendly staff couldn't do more for you, tapas is beyond amazing. Vegan menu is brilliant too. 10/10
