Great breakfast all round. Beans are absolutely delicious as well as the homemade bread. Took a little long as they were very busy on sunday morning but apologised and offered a free coffee. See you soon

What a find. After a disaster brunch yesterday at Torino Lounge in Bicester (see my other reviews), we tried this place today as were in Oxford. It was cheaper, hotter, fresher and in general a million times better than Torino. These "independent/local cafe's" need support and not the big brash spoons, lounges etc. More care is taken and you just feel more special and usually get a better meal. I had the full breakfast and my wife had the smoked salmon and scrambled eggs. The eggs were so creamy, the sourdough toast was very hot, all served on hot plates. We will be back, we have found a new go-to when we are in Oxford for Breakfast, Lunch or Dinner!!!!

Central location, tasty food , friendly staff , cosy atmosphere and good prices…what else can you wish for 🤗 Honestly wonderful cafe and a recommended stop for anyone looking to grab some delicious food with friends or family. Definitely the best all day long breakfast place.

Really enjoyed the breakfast we had at the Spires. When we arrived (early on a Saturday morning) there were already a few folks enjoying their breakfasts. Only two people were working, so the food wasn't super fast in its delivery, but it was excellent. Asked about the Spires Breakfast (which is said to feed two) and informed them that we were vegetarian. Though the menu doesn't say anything about a Veggie version of the Spires Breakfast, we were supplied with one and it was scrummy!!! They don't lie; it was a perfect sharing breakfast for two. The Greek style butterbeans were DELISH and so much nicer than run of the mill baked beans ... We remained sated for the entire day- perfect when just traipsing through Oxford taking in the sights. We definitely didn't need a lunch, breakky fuelled us til dinner time. We promised the staff we'd be back, and happily returned on Sunday morning for breakfast again (sounds boring, but food was that nice!) The Spires Breakfast is value for money. Give the cafe a go, as I suspect you won't be disappointed.

This cafe was recommeded by my friend's son. We stopped for breakfast and it was exceptionally tasty and fresh and well presented. I would honestly go as far as saying that it is probably the best breakfast I have ever eaten. The homemade baked beans were so delicious. I would highly recommend!

We read the good reviews about this coffee shop, so thought we’d check it out. My kids really enjoyed the pizzas and myself and hubby had some lovely sandwiches. Highly recommended.

We went here for breakfast and had their scrambled eggs... they were barely cooked and they sat them on the side for 10 mins before they gave them to us. Avocados were great though.

I Was in my way to London and I’ve stopped for a lunch , we ordered chicken porcini and a vegetarian pizza , I can say it’s one of the best pizza a ever had definitely we will be back ! Highly recommended!

Poor! As a family we visited (Jan 2024) the Spires Cafe ~11.30am in Gloucester Green Oxford. We purchased a Pizza and The Oxford Full Breakfast. The restaurant wasn't busy and the service was slow with the food took a lot longer to arrive than we were informed (informed it would take 10mins and took it >25mins). The food reviews: the pizza was not nice and the bread base very tough, the kids didn’t like it at all. I’m pretty the breakfast was sure made up of items (sausage, mushrooms, and hash brown) that I saw under the heat lamps when ordering the food and appeared to have been there a long time. The waitress confirmed that the breakfast would be cooked fresh when I requested I didn’t want the items under the lamps. On arrival, the mushrooms were shrivelled and luke warm, the sausage also, the hash brown was oily and not pleasant, the beans were also not my thing either. All in all a terrible experience, costly for the meals served and we will not be visiting again.

We saw the excellent reviews and decided to give Spires a try for breakfast and we were not disappointed. I had the full breakfast and found the ingredients so tasty and a little different to the usual breakfast fare. The butter beans and mushrooms were super tasty as were the sausages, bacon and black pudding. The condiments provided also added to the breakfast and made us want to purchase for ourselves. Three friends had the welsch rarebit which also hit the mark too. Service was a little slow but when the food is this good it was worth the wait!

Perfect avocado mash on toast. Good service and nice ambiance. Couldn’t be improved to be honest. Lots of choice in Oxford but will go again.

Found this as a dog-friendly venue. We had 1xPizza, 1xPanini, 2x Free-Range Chicken Fricassee .All were delicious as were the cakes/baclava. Good selection of beer & wine at a reasonable price too. Service informal, friendly and helpful. Definitely recommend.
