Service was great, atmosphere was nice and chilled but food was just too oily

Food is always delicious from here - seasoned very well!

The fried fish is very nice. But it is a bit hot there.

Friendly atmosphere with fantastic food that is reasonably priced. Can highly recommend the new chef, he's brought good food back to the place.

Ordered the food for collection, claypot lamb, masala chips, butter paneer and naan, excellent food, the spinney is a small pub. Opens only in the afternoon and food is served from 3.00PM. Small seating area, pool table and own car park. You can watch live football games

Bar manager rude when I took a pint of Coors back because it was flat and end of the barrel chip not freshly cooked looked dirty brown as thought partially cooked and then finished off very disapoibting

Fishpakora top quality crispy batter fresh chunks of fish, chicken chikka tender melt in your mouth with the burnt bit of the chicken bang on, every think I had was soo tasty, best place for a country mile... too bad they dont deliver else would be a 5star on service haha

One of the very best pubs serving Indian cuisine I've ever visited (and we've done dozens of them) Great quality food, reasonably priced drinks and a nice environment. Well done Jag and team, you never fail to deliver big time. It just gets better, we've fine tuned our choices, no need for takeaway containers, eat the best, cheaper than chips, why would you go elsewhere ! Madness !

First time customers on Saturday 18th August and we were made to feel welcome. Beer was lovely, atmosphere great watching the football and we took our food home which was gorgeous 😍 definitely be returning x

Food was great and the Spinney was clean, tidy and friendly staff. It has a large car park on the front and side . There are two sides to the restaurant and you can order food from the counter and eat either side .

Very disappointed as we have always had good food here, first we had to clean a dirty table, the chicken tikka masala was totally flavourless, the egg fried rice looked like the chef had scrambled and egg and mixed it with boiled rice, the bar doesn’t sell non alcoholic beer. Won’t be returning

Food here is worth trying! Delicious, butter chicken is amazing, and they always cook it to the spice level you ask for, not like other places that just go with want they want! Good job guys!

We had take out this visit but once again food was absolutely amazing . We had 4 different mains ,all curries which they ask how you would like it . We always have medium spice and its just perfect. Would recommend to any curry lover

The food was incredible and the staff were lovely. Little on the loud side but the footy was on so its understandable. Honestly best curry I've had in years.

Thoroughly enjoyed the food. Nice and helpful staff. Enjoyed the chicken bryani, karkhai paneer and tandoori roti. One of the best tandoori roti so far.

Really enjoyed the food here The waiter/lead guy for the food side was really good, informative. Made an effort to come over to say how long the food would take, came over to check if we needed anything else throughout starters and mains. And food was really nice as usual so they obviously have good chefs too. Look forward to coming here again ☺️

Really good food and my go to place for indian. Some of the most courteous and gracious staff. The specials on their menu are truly special. Wish they would have more choices for beer and cider but whatever they have got is good. I live nearby and keep going there for a meal or click and collect on my way back from work.

OK pub (and Desi restaurant - don't know about food as didn't eat) Not very covid aware / set up well. No ale. Staropramen is £3.50 a pint. Lots of screens with sky sports. Pool table and fruit machines not usable.

Good drinks and great food OK for family also

As someone who's not fussy with anything I am particular with my indian grill pubs. I can hands down say best mixed grill pub going! Lamb chops are Devine with an option on how they're cooked, the mutton biriyani I crave daily and just the simplest popadom and their chutneys are enough to go back! Honestly no other mixed grill can compare for me! I love this place

Lively,Busy And Approachable Staff. I went here with a friend sometime ago and we were treated politely and with smiles lol..The customer service here is very recommendable and I also had plans of going here again during my free time and I will definitely recommend this place/Pub

We live over the road from the spinney pub. Its not a massive pub but its not small. There is a bar with tables and chairs so u can eat in this area. Its a good size. Then theres the lounge were u can relax and eat in there. Again its a fair size. Its always clean when we have been over. We do always go into the lounge and have our food there. If there was a few of you going 2 drink and eat the tables r quite long so u can all sit together. You look at the menu. There is a good choice of indian meals. You order what u want in the bar at the food counter. Tell them were your sitting. When its cooked staff bring it 2 your table. The food is in individual dishes so u can put what u want and how much u want on ur plate. We have been and eaten her quite a bit and we have never been disappointed in the food. It has always been delicious. If u cant eat all of it then u can ask for a tub 2 take the rest home with u. And any naam bread thats not been eaten. We have done this and the staff were great about us taking the rest home. The staff are pleasant. They are helpful. They come after a few minutes of you receiving you food 2 ask if everything is ok. They ask when everyone has finished if they can clean the table. You can stay were you are then for as long as you like. No one asks you 2 move.. The Spinney also do a service were you can phone in your food order they tell you how long it will be so then you can just go and collect it. I would recommend the Spinney if you want a beautiful curry. Well worth the money. There is a decent car park. Our friends come from Tewkesbury 2 have a curry at the Spinney. They said its the best they ever had. They have had a few themselves now. DELICIOUS.

Having a wake for my mother can't fault the staff and management the food is wonderful thank you for a great send off for a beautiful lady.

Chicken lolly pop was excellent.. but the the mixed grill was a absolute waste of money..... it was very very very salty we couldn’t eat more than a piece of meat...... I had a very high expectation but returned with a huge disappointment....

I would not eat there again the curry was very salty........probably to make you drink more

The spinney is a typical local pub with the Asian owners making a masterstroke with superb Asian food - curry's, grills & a bbq selection available - food is excellent and reasonably priced. Beers good, friendly customers and staff, clean tidy, car park outside, **doesn't open until 4pm - in afternoon not busy, suitable for local drink or Asian food, in my opinion best food of its type in the area!

Update: after another visit...more or less empty and waited an hour. They had given food to someone else. Called us a liar. Didn't offer an apology. Was very rude and not organised. Will not be every going again and would not recommend. Food might be nice, but pointless if you don't get it and if service is rubbish. What a shame its let down by the people. One of the best mixed grilled I've had in a while. The fish pakora was amazing. Will defo come again. Cooked from fresh and not warmed up like others. Can taste the difference.

Cold no heat despite 1°c outside. Buffet wierd and poor. Bar service good. Looked like a canteen in the Bar although the Lounge made me feel like Dr Who.I traveled back to 1973 when I 1st used the place.

Excellent food Naans cooked just right value for money. Rate as No 2 after the Barrel.

4 of us visited for food. Good really good. All had curries and a biryani simply lovely. Staff friendly and sports on tv. Good priced lager and Guinness. Recommended.

Best food by far blows away any competition

Ok so this place has been given great ratings but personally don't think it's much to rave about. The food was standard really nothing special, salad portion was a joke. A large mixed grill served a few pieces of onion, few leaves of salad and 1 whole cherry tomato. How do you share 1 whole cherry tomato? The Bar staff could do with being a little more welcoming and polite instead of nodding at you when your waiting to be served.

Excellent place, good atmosphere, quick service and food yummy good selection of veg/non veg.
