The Spice Takeaway in Uttlesford

Ordered a takeaway and I ordered lamb rogan - it was so tender and delicious things have improved no end - will definitely order again

We use the Spice quite often and usually find it to be really good . Delivery tonight was excellent , well under the hour quoted. Partner had King Prawn Biryani and she loved it and gave a score of 5/5. I had my usual of Chicken Tikka Jallfrezi with Sag aloo. Tonight it was a lot hotter with quite a few more chillies in the dish so I struggled to eat it towards the end .Not sure if they had a different chef or a different menu as usually it is just right for me. However great flavour , amazing colours just a little too hot for me tonight, but did finish it .Hasn't put me off and will definitely order our next take away from The Spice .

Although flavour was ok, the chicken dishes had some of the toughest , overcooked and driest meat I have ever had! Naan’s were like dry cardboard Sag paneer how do they make it so chewy. Foul! Avoid at all costs

Ordered a takeaway this evening after a two-year hiatus from leaving a "mediocre at best" review. The delivery arrived in good time however the curry was utterly tasteless, and lacked in sauce. Rice was fine however the keema naan contained the tiniest amount of keema. People say the owner of this takeaway used to own the best takeaway in town. However I have to say this is the worst curry I've had in many years and is an insult to Indian food. AVOID!!!!!

Absolutely devastated by the service this evening. I placed an order at 0730hrs for a 1900hrs delivery to celebrate my daughter’s birthday. At 1917hrs I phoned the restaurant to confirm the order was being dealt with and the gentleman that answered the phone confirmed that my order was on route. At 1949hrs I phoned the restaurant again to confirm the location of our delivery only to be told that they weren’t sure if our order had left or not. At this point I realised poor service. I called out the telephone operator (same individual who answered my 1917hrs call) on his integrity and honesty and his answer was he had no idea what orders had left the establishment. This has ruined our evening to celebrate our daughters birthday. I will not be using this takeaway again.
