the spice brasserie in Liverpool

I’ve always ordered from this restaurant as a delivery takeout due to it being the nearest one to me, never had a problem with food or delivery. The menu prices however need to be updated on the website!! There is a downside….. they shouldn’t charge for delivery over £30 but the food is lovely.

Extremely disappointed. Went here after a long time, on a Friday night. It was dead and freezing. Tables weren’t even set up - they must know no one really dines in (not surprised!) Should’ve walked out. But gave it a chance. Waitress (wife of owner) was extremely rude, moved me around tables after another young waiter sat me down. Says table is booked so I moved and in the end I find out the booking is “tomorrow”. When the food came, I realised I had the wrong items, so when I informed her she said “I can’t change it now”. So it’s my fault that they’ve made a mistake themselves?! She didn’t wanna hear my concern at all and walked off. I felt forced to eat what she’d wrongly given me and didn’t want to cause fuss so tried it. I mentioned it to the owner (her husband) - no response. Avoid unless you have to. Plenty of better Indian restaurants around the area not too far away.

After ordering a takeaway here for the first time a couple of days ago, I recommended we go there as our new years family meal. The restaurant itself was so quiet, clean and tidy. There were the owners family in there which gave it a lovely family run restaurant feel. All of the staff there were lovely, they went beyond what we needed and were so attentive. The food was just amazing value for money! We ordered some onion bhajis and a meat platter to start, then seabass with a balti sauce, a bhuna and a paneer passanda. The fish was so nicely cooked and crispy, each curry sauce was delicately made to exactly how we like it, and also the rice and the pshwari naan was lovely! Nothing was greasy or over cooked, everything felt fresh and tasty ! We cannot recommend this enough and we will be back! Please go in and visit and sit down if you can as the restaurant deserves so much more than takeaway business, it is worth the 2 hours to sit and enjoy being waited on hand and foot by this lovely family and get to know them!

Delivery, the place is a joke. Ordered for delivery at 19:15. At 18:40 was told it'd be 30 mins. At 20:00 I was told the driver was on his way, give him 2 minutes. At 20:30 I was told they would send it out straight away, another 15 mins. Arrived at 20:55 stone cold. Remind me not to use these again. Sad to say, second order identical scenario.

VILE! unbelievably bad. I went to pick up an order from the restaurant, and this was my first time ordering from here. I should have turned around and walked back to my car as soon as I walked through the front door.... the restaurant was empty, bar a group of men at the back having what looked like a family meal helping themselves to food from trays on a side table. Like a cheap buffet. The bar was empty and had no staff behind it at all. Of the two beer fridges, one was filled with random items like bulbs and cardboard boxes and the other had 4 bottles of bud and an empty ketchup bottle. There were flies on the bar, and there was a large basket filled with dirty washing (I assume aprons) just sitting there. Not a single member of staff came to greet me, so I wandered towards the back of the restaurant to get someone's attention. I wish I hadn't because as I got to the back end of the place there was a small room where one of the male members of staff was sat on the floor with two buckets.... one with clearly dirty water, and the other had suds on top and he was dunking the cutlery in the bucket..... this is how they clean their dishes!!!!?? Absolutely gross and mental. The manager was rude and dismissed me straight away, telling me to come back in half an hour. As I said, I should Have walked out and never returned there and then ...but I didn't. I came back collected my food, got home...took one look at it and lashed it all in the wheely bin outside. Money down the gutter, but a lesson learned....always check the MANY 1 star reviews on trust pilot before ordering food from a new place.

Been there a few times. This is our go to place for a family celebration. The place is spotless. The food is awesome. It’s a real family run business. You can even take your own wine !!! Going there soon to celebrate a special birthday with the wife and kids. Looking forward to it. PS. Don’t park in the Lidl car park as you will get a ticket. Park outside the Post office

I have known about this place for a while but I live quite far away so hadn't tried it. But they allowed me to use a Taste card on a Saturday night, (Which they didn't have to but Nicki was very helpful). It was empty which felt a bit odd (More of a reflection of Garston village I'd suggest), but when we received our order we were pleasantly surprised. Delicious fresh poppadoms, good selection of dips, authentic Indian curries and side dishes. Nicki offered to adjust the spices and taste for any dish we wanted but it was fantastic as it was. I'd seriously recommend this place as a genuine Indian restaurant away from the pricy city centre options (And don't be put off by bad reviews, more to do with delivery probs than the food itself)

For the first time this year, with my brother visiting from Spain, the family had a very enjoyable meal together. The food was very good and served quickly. Recommend the chapatis. We had a couple of queries about the drinks, but eventually got a bottle of red wine and something approximating to a gin and tonic. Overall a very pleasant evening in nice surroundings. We'll be back again soon.

A week ago today me and a couple of friends arrived around 10.30pm the lady owner kindly seated us even though they were not too far off finishing, we had a lovely starter and main, the nann bread is great as it comes pre sliced into big but handy triangles, food tasted great and price is very reasonable.

Thank you so much for a wonderful evening! The best curry’s in Liverpool we would not go anywhere else! Lovely staff and gorgeous food! Tiny delays are nothing when the Curry is worth the wait! Can’t wait to come back already! :)

Food was late. Sub standard chicken tikka masala , lamb tikka balti ok , chicken jalfrezi ok. Naan was best thing about a poor takeaway. Wouldn’t order again 😞

Waited 3 hours for my food to be delivered, when I went to the restaurant I spent another hour waiting to find out where my order was. 4 hours into waiting at this point I was told I never placed an order despite having an order number, confirmation and the money taken from my bank.I was also told they would not be making my food and to contact Uber directly for a refund. I have eaten here before and the food was lovely but I won’t be back because the service was awful

We were delighted to find that both our curries were extremely tasty, and we found the waitress attentive.

Esto parece un edificio abandonado con asientos "en la parte trasera"; sin música, sin atmósfera. Éramos un grupo de 7, había algunos otros grupos en la misma noche. . . una camarera para cubrir los pedidos del bar, servir la comida y recoger (¡incluido el fregar!) Bebidas calientes y planas, servidas 2 @ a la vez (aparentemente sin bandejas). Después de una hora de haber comido un poppadom cada uno, la comida llegó a nuestra mesa 2 horas después de la orden. Para ser justos, la comida estaba bien, pero no vale la pena esperar 2 horas. No recomendaría visitar este restaurante y definitivamente volveremos. Ah, y cuidado con los agujeros en el suelo al salir. . . . . .

Bueno, después de 2 desastrosas comidas para llevar chino durante las últimas semanas, estábamos preocupados. Pero no deberíamos haberlo sido. Teníamos Biryani, Korma, Rogan Josh, Keema Pilau Rice, Poppodams & Chutney. Fue fabuloso U LOUS. Llegó a tiempo también. No puedo esperar hasta la próxima. Muchas gracias xxx

Delivery kept getting pushed back and took 3 hours. No excuse for such shocking service. If I could give no stars I would.

Pedí una comida para llevar esta noche a las 6. 20 y me dijeron que estaría conmigo en una hora. Volví a llamar alrededor de las 8 pm y me dijeron que estaba listo para la entrega. Media hora más tarde recibí una llamada telefónica pidiendo que viniera a recogerlo ya que no tenían chófer, me avisaron que no podía hacerlo porque no tengo transporte. Luego me dijeron que tenía que pagar la entrega con tarjeta por teléfono antes de que pudiera llegar hasta mi casa (vivo a 1 milla de distancia). Luego me aconsejaron groseramente si quería la comida o no. Dije que había estado esperando dos horas para que la respuesta fuera buena cuando vas a Asda, esperas dos horas, lo cual no estoy seguro de cuál fue el punto del comentario, ya que Asda es un supermercado y la brasserie de especias es un restaurante. Se le pidió hablar con un gerente y le dijeron que no había uno y solo los idiotas pidieron hablar con los gerentes. Luego me colgó el teléfono. El 100% iría a Madhari en su lugar en la carretera de Aigburth. El personal es tan encantador y educado y nunca trataría a los clientes como me trataron esta noche. Grosero personal grosero! ! He estado recibiendo una comida para llevar durante aproximadamente un año desde aquí cada semana y estoy tan sorprendido por la forma en que me trataron esta noche que tuve que poner una reseña aquí. Más de tres horas de espera para una entrega y cuando llamé para perseguirla, me dijeron que si quería quejarme por el tiempo de espera para no molestarme en ordenar nuevamente y tuve que esperar como todos los demás. Le expliqué que me habían dicho que era una hora de espera, no tres y él dijo que no era su problema esperar como todos los demás también, aparentemente si iba a una tienda tendría que hacer cola y esperar. Luego dije sobre escribir una reseña y su respuesta fue que solo la gente estúpida escribe reseñas y nadie las leería de todos modos, ¡EVITAR a toda costa! ! ! !

Absolutely awful !!!!! I’ve been waiting since 6.30pm for my food. Got a call to say come pick up food or they don’t know when it will be delivered. When I said I would leave the order he put the phone down on me.

Hemos sido clientes leales durante casi 2 años, pero anoche pedimos lo habitual y esperamos 4 horas para que nos entregaran la comida. Llamamos casi cada media hora para una actualización y cada vez que nos dijeron que nuestra comida había salido de la cocina. Cerca de la marca de 4 horas intentamos sonar para decir que no se moleste ya que estábamos a punto de hacer un pedido desde otro lugar, pero no contestaron el teléfono. Afortunadamente, justo cuando estábamos a punto de hacer un pedido en otro lugar, llegó la comida. . . ninguna explicación o disculpa después de que la mujer le mintiera por teléfono toda la noche. No volveremos a hacer pedidos desde aquí y aconsejaremos a amigos y familiares que también lo eviten. ¡Extremadamente decepcionado!

Had deliveries here before saw on group in and booked. Service was great by the young chap, food amazing! Went with partner and two kids we ate everything. Wouldn’t bother with any other curry house now! 100%

We had a great meal staff were friendly and helpful. Will be going on a Wednesday for the special. Would recommend it.

Ordered a takeaway Nye we knew it would be a little late with them being busy that night but 3hrs went by and still no food phone kept ringing out and website then said closed even tho they had taken our money so we had to re order elsewhere. New order with a different company came within 20mins. Later that night, 4 1/2 hours late the original order arrived we told him it was 4 1/2 hrs late and we no longer wanted it and there was no communication from them to say it would be this late or that the order was even on its way. The delivery man rang the manager who apologised and offered a full refund. Almost 3 weeks later we still haven't received a refund. We have rang the restaurant and asked to speak to the manager but told he isn't available and the staff where really rude and told us to contact just eat even tho we had already been promised a refund from the manager. Will be taking our custom elsewhere. Would never order from here again.

After being a loyal take away customer for over 4 years we have just had the worst customer service ever. Ordered our usual meals and waited for over 2 hours for it to arrive. When it arrived it had missing items so I called the restaurant to tell them. Spoke to a Scouse lady who was relaying our concerns back to the owner. In the end the owner snatched the phone off the member of staff and spoke to me like crap. All we wanted was the items that were missing from the order that we paid for. He hung up the phone. Awful service and I will never order from here again

Order took over 2 hours to arrive, every time I called I was told 15 more minutes and when I asked for a refund it was refused. I was spoken to like absolute rubbish, this place has no idea how to treat customers, the food isn’t even good enough to wait the amount of time they make you wait. Very very rude avoid!

Visited yesterday with a colleague while on a business trip. On arrival the restaurant was empty which at first sight didn’t appear promising but we decided to take a chance. There was a lot of takeaway activity which was reassuring and our chicken jalfrezi and naga were great. Will definitely visit again

Went here with my daughter on a Weneday evening. The restaurant takes ther Dine card which means one main course if free which is great. There was a long wait for the food (over an hour from ordering) although it was tasty anjd spicey when it arrived. Menu says you are welcome to bring your own drinks which we did but did not mention £4 fee for doing so which I thought was a bit steep but did not want to challenge the rather harrassed-looking waitress. Presumably they were making up for the 241 offer on a quiet night but we should have been warned about this.

Llamamos al restaurante y nos dijeron que nuestro pedido había salido de la cocina y había salido con el conductor. Unos 15 minutos más tarde volvimos a llamar ya que nuestra comida aún no había llegado. Nuevamente nos dijeron que nuestro pedido estaba a la entrega. Fue solo cuando los presionamos para confirmar exactamente cuándo llegaría nuestro pedido que nos dijeron que habían cancelado nuestro pedido ya que estaban demasiado ocupados. Habíamos recibido un correo electrónico confirmando el pedido, pero aún así lo habían cancelado: sin llamada telefónica, sin mensaje de texto, sin correo electrónico informándonos de la cancelación.

Fui hoy por nuestro té. Tuvimos una comida fantástica. El entrante de pollo es excelente y el pollo tikka balti estaba delicioso. El restaurante era encantador y cálido y el servicio amable y acogedor. Definitivamente vendré aquí de nuevo, especialmente como lo hace la oferta de dos por uno meercat.

Really lovely time. My family, a friend and his daughter all went. Quiet as it was midweek. But simply lovely food. Lovely atmosphere and very reasonable too. We used the Meerkat app to receive money off too. Highly recommend the place 👍🏻

We've been using this indian for a few years, it went down the pan a few months ago and has possibly changed hands since, after recent visits, they have regained their excellent food, non greasy, tasty and piping hot.

First time my other half and i have been to an Indian restaurant, i'm not really one for spicy food. My dad and stepmum introduced us to this little gem in garston, using a groupon voucher. The food was amazing,we are definitely converts to the taste sensations of the Indian cuisine.

a cousin, over from Oz, was visiting town so we met at my brothers and decided on a takeaway. this being nearest thought we'd give it a try. I popped in to order/collect, wanted to have a look-see. had passed several times but never been in before. a nice, contemporary, restaurant. pretty quiet, but I think they'd just opened. gave my order and told be about 30 minutes.

My wife bought me a Groupon voucher for our anniversary. Arrived about 6_15. To an empty restaurant. Chef came up and said voucher 1 small glass of wine. A starter. A main. He said rice bread and anything else are extra. Starter and main meals were very small. Won't be returning. Wouldn't recommend buying a Groupon voucher for this place. ☹

We had a birthday party for a 2 year old. The owners were decent. The food was nice, we ordered lamb chops, chicken tikka, onion Bhaji, butter chicken, rice & sundries. Must was very nice.

I ordered a delivery and was given a time. The delivery was well over 1 hour late. When the food arrived it was stone cold. When it had been heated up it was tasteless and bland. I used to use the Spice Brasserie regularly, but not any more. I was totally let down in all aspects from delivery to quality. Even when the meal did eventually turn up, not even the slightest inkling of an apology.

Haven't been here in quite a while, but glad we went. Food was lovely full of flavour, bread was lovely and hot. Staff were really nice and pleasent. Will definitely go back.

Been here few times, does gets better each time, the quality of food is very good, especially the tandoori and prices are reasonable, the only problem with this place is lack of serving staff, if few table are in it becomes hectic, it's a beautiful restaurant with ample parking around, but will and do recommend you try this place.

Visited last night as a party of four. The food was delicious and enjoyed by us all and the staff were very attentive. Good value for money. Would return and would recommend.

This poor will soon close. Christmas day..menu had no price...no drinks price! Drinks served without ice and with unwrapped straws yuk. Extra curry dish given when not ordered but added on bill. 3 curry 3 rice 2 starters and kids nuggets and chip (half price apparently £12.50) 3 comes and 1 beer. Total cost £98.56. Never in my life will go there again.

Having tried many take away sin Speke/Liverpool area, this place is by far the best I’ve had. Food was delivered well packed, no leaks, a little late.

Enjoyed a great curry, tandoori king prawns starter was delicately spiced, lamb curry main delicious with saag aloo (was called something different) side and a tandoori roti and spiced pillau rice. Delicious.

Have been going to this curry house for a long time as it is very local and convenient, the food is consistently hot and top quality, I have never had a cause to complain about anything!! I am a fussy person so that is saying something!! The staff are lovely and accommodating, nothing is too much trouble! I would highly recommend !! Special mention to Amanda who goes out of her way to make sure everything is perfect! Even the chef comes out to speak to customers to ensure everything is as it should be! Well done, and I will continue to enjoy this venue!!

Servicio Asqueroso última noche tratando de ordenar un curry. Somos asiduos en esta casa de curry y esperamos más de una hora y media! ! ! Llegamos a las 8 pm (curry aparecimos en 9:40 pm! No es uno de los) camareros nos dijo por qué o incluso llegó a hablar con nosotros durante nuestra espera, así que después de una hora comenzamos preguntándoles que nos dijeron que tendría que estar en 3 minutos y media hora más tarde aún estaban esperando. Frustrado que estábamos a punto de salir cuando el curry finalmente concretado. Sostuvo el precio por el excesivo tiempo de espera para ser dijeron que no. Ni siquiera a mitad de precio! Pidió que el director me dijeron que "es muy ocupados". A la izquierda el curry y salimos. No volveremos. Lastima, ya que esta es una bonita casa de curry. Perdido clientes habituales incluyendo otras dos parejas también espera con nosotros y otro par sentados en una mesa esperando una hora + para su curry.

Ate here last night for a birthday meal, we were a large party of 16 and the service was wonderful, all our food was ready at the same time and the staff were lovely. Food tasted amazing and great value for money with the set meals. Will 100% be coming again and definatly recommend, a little gem on our doorstep.

called in without booking, very pleasant environment, nice calm atmosphere. Staff were very attentive and took time to explain ingredients and information about some dishes.Starters were beautifully presented so much so we took photographs and forwarded them to friends encouraging them to support this really great restaurant. Had a massive meal with my dad. Staff were lovely and helpful as I’ve recently gone vegan so needed a little advice. Lots of choice and my dad loved his lamb dish. Came home with enough leftovers for 2 more meals!

Spending a couple of nights at the Travelodge at John Lennon airport so was looking for somewhere in the vicinity to get a bite to eat. We came across this restaurant while browsing trip advisor and saw the good reviews so decided to give it a try. We were not disappointed. The food was wonderful and staff very friendly. I had the chicken passander and my wife has the Masala Seabass with vegetable couscous which she said was wonderful. I would certainly recommend a visit and we will certainly return if we are in the area again.

This is our local Indian and we won’t go anywhere else! The food is the best Indian food we’ve ever had! If I have family visiting, I will always bring them here! You can tell it’s all cooked from fresh - not greasy at all. It’s our favourite place to come for an Indian - good service, gorgeous food and all at a decent price! Go on a Wednesday and get the £10 set menu - so much choice and high quality food for a tenner!

Yo fui a visitar este lugar regularmente cuando estoy visitando a mis padres en Garston.

Fuimos con un grupo de 8 para una comida los martes por la noche. Éramos los únicos! No entiendo por qué, porque la comida es deliciosa. Los mejores curries en Liverpool para mí.

This restaurant is not to be missed. It offers an extensive menu and the service was excellent. We were not rushed which is a rare treat.

I visited Spice Brasserie with a few co-workers for a 'pay day meal out' and we were all very pleased with the restaurant. A lovely friendly atmosphere and welcoming staff, very authentic like setting even down to the music and the food - perfection, no other way to describe it other than perfection. Fantastic portions and absolutely delicious, we will certainly be back again soon.

Primera visita en la última noche y nos quedamos realmente impresionados con la comida que se sirve aquí. El extenso menú que bien cubierto con los gustos de todos. Gran carta de vinos también, aunque era cerveza por lo una opción de dos en proyecto, incluyendo cobra.

It has new owners and not advertised. We got a home delivery and ordered a lamb curry which had 7 pieces in it and chix curry, 2 starters, rice and chips and it came to £29 shocking. When i phoned up to complain because i had more curry than lamb the new owner then says the chef put 9 pieces in it. So basically called me a liar. Then when i ask about the price his reply was well you know food prices have gone up so ofacuse im putting the prices up. I never had any problems with old owner and loved this place for my indans. Wont be ordering from here again.
