Orded at 23:47 Says it wud be delivered between 00:35-00:55 Then Said it will be delivered for 01:20 Finally got order at 01:30 the burger and thr fish tacos was cold and not nice.

great food and great service as always that last review was wrong as miss clicked the delivery time and just eat won't let me fix it but delivery time was spot on and early, will be for sure ordering again and highly recommend this place and must try is the the mixed Irish kebab, unreal

Cheap meat marinated well to taste good. Definitely not worth the price. they are making a massive profit of peoples hard earned money. Speaking as a head chef of a very busy restaurant

Late delivery is understandable at busy times but I still think the food should be cooked just before it leaves the shop. Order arrived 45 minutes late and was cold. Very poor

Lots of bad reviews recently. Ours was fine. Service was great, asked when we'd be there and was ready a couple of minutes later, very helpful and friendly. Kebab meat was good. I love the sauce, but there was too much on the chips even for me. Large kebabs are large. No salad or anything (but we didn't ask). Not cheap though. A large kebab was £15.50, and that does take the shine off a little. Still, the family all enjoyed the treat. We had 2 large kebabs and a chip for the 5 of us (3 kids under 10 and 2 adults). We weren't stuffed, but satisfied. With lots of kebab-sauce on fingers!

Kids meal is a great portion. Best kebab , fresh ! Staff really friendly also .

Hate to complain know how difficult it is for businesses at the min but this was poor …. My partner got Kebab I had ordered fish and chips …they called to say that fish out of stock ??? So I took scampi instead … arrived promptly my partner enjoyed his kebab and chip but he eats anything my scampi was over overcooked and poor …. The meal for two was 33.75 …expensive for poor quality …. Sorryyyy

My Fiancé and I ordered food for delivery through deliveroo. We got charged but never received any food. Tried ringing multiple times but went straight to voicemail. Had to go to bed starving. Totally ruined our last night here in Belfast.

Took an hour and 50 minutes to arrive cold and none of the 3drinks where the restaurant doesn't answer the fone alright just straight through to answer machine wouldn't be ordering from here again

I no it's been a while since I last ordered food form here but I have tried on several occasions to get through on the phone to complain about the food that I ordered and didn't receive but was charged all most 30 pounds only to be told my food was delivered witch it wasn't there for I'll definitely never order again wait on the food for almost 4 hours and give up went to bed .so if anything happens to your delivery don't bother ring the shop s as they won't answer.

Food never came & when I phone the shop it automatically forwards me to the voicemail. With the prices of this place you would expect decent service.

food was lovely as always just was disappointed that driver left food on the ground when delivered. wasn't like I took ages to answer the door, it was like 30secs to a min at most. my apologies to the driver also, if I sounded cheeky as I told him that it wasn't really nice to receive your food on the ground as he was only at my gate when I came to the door

Disappointed shop closed at 1:45am and opening hours are until 2am. Staff were unwilling to accommodate a portion of chips. Reputation of best chip shop in Belfast. Falls short of this by quite a margin.

I ordered a large mixed kebab from The Sphinx on Stranmillis Road last Thursday night, the 7th of March 2024. Unfortunately, what followed was a harrowing experience. Around five in the morning, I was abruptly awakened by excruciating stomach pains. The agony persisted throughout the day as I found myself confined to the bathroom, battling bouts of vomiting and diarrhoea. Even now, on Saturday, I'm still not feeling quite right. Regrettably, I strongly suspect that I suffered from food poisoning as a result of consuming the kebab from The Sphinx. This incident marked my return to the establishment after several months, prompted by a previous unpleasant encounter with a soggy meat kebab. On that occasion, I couldn't help but notice the unsettling stares from the kitchen staff, which I suspect may have been related to a generous tip my friends and I left for the counter girls the week prior. It pains me to leave such a negative review, especially considering the potential for a pleasant dining experience at The Sphinx. However, the severity of my illness cannot be overlooked. I sincerely hope that this feedback prompts the necessary improvements in food safety and hygiene standards to prevent similar incidents from befalling other customers in the future. Additionally, I must address the portion size of the large mixed kebab, which was frankly a disappointment considering the price. The serving fell far short of expectations, leaving me feeling unsatisfied and questioning the value for money. While I understand that quality should always take precedence over quantity, in this instance, the meagre portion only added to my dissatisfaction with the overall experience.

Kebab was nice, what’s happened with the chips they were not good at all not the usual lovely chips.

Heard a lot about this place and was dying to try it, order arrived early however the kebab meat had onions through it, which I’m not a fan off. Apart from that the sphinx sauce is amazing chips and meat perfect.

The Sphinx was recommended as the place for the best steak kebabs in Belfast. I was very disappointed. The ratio of bread/salad/meat was wrong. Small thin pitta, shredded lettuce and a mountain of dry, tough beef. Some meat was inedible. The sauce helped a bit but it was just ok, nothing special. I wouldn’t go back and it definitely wasn’t value for money.

excellent thankyou. i dont know why there is people complaing about the price/portions lol other kebab shops you get frozen chips with cheap nasty doner kebab meat and watered down cheap sauces. Sphinx use only the best...real chips, steak and top quality sauces which are all expensive and super fresh salad....you get what you pay for 😊 lovely thanks guys!

Food was as always amazing, especially the kebab. Food might seem a bit pricey compared to other take away options but the box really was full to the brim! Only complaint I have is that they didn't deliver the drink I ordered and paid for. Restaurant nor just east have got back to me about reporting missing food :(

Ordered a large kebab with salad on bread (didn’t know what bread because it doesn’t state it). Was hoping for naan bread but it ended up being pita bread. Not very good value for money. Very little salad with it and was by no means a large!! Tasty but just not enough for the money. Just for this one item it cost nearly £18 (not including delivery) very disappointing!

The girl rang me back and started questioning me with a bad attitude. When the food arrived it was cold and had very little meat. There are better takeaways to order from with nicer staff. They were lucky I didn't go down there and demand a refund.

Scheduled delivery 20.20-20.40. App told me it had been delivered at 2.25 but no sign. Rang at 20.45 file was told it was en route and running lay as they were busy. 2 more phone calls later and ordered was delivered at 21.20. The driver said he had the wrong address but it doesn’t take an hour. Order filled at 20.18 on receipt. Almost an hour later we were eating cold and soggy food which cost £30 .Will be making contact with the establishment

Ordered a kebab on chips but something else arrived on chips. I could not identify the meat that did arrive. I think it was shredded beef/steak. I'd eat almost anything at 2am but this went in the bin as it genuinely scared me that this was served to humans. I'd not feed this to an animal I cared for. Disgusting scary disgrace. This business needs a visit for environmental health!

Absolutely awful. This takeaway used to be my favourite. I asked for a mixed kebab just got a chicken one and the chicken was over cooked and rubbery. The chips were awful. Worst takeaway I’ve ever had. Only good thing about it was the house sauce. I’m not one to complain usually try to find a positive but Jesus guys what happened tonight the cheese was congealed just horrendous. Overcooked chicken horrible chips. I’m stunned at how bad it was

Wrong food to what I ordered when I rung the waitress was completely useless basically said I was wrong.. agreed I’d said no veg on my meal but continued to argue that I should know there’s onions in it? Correct me but are onions not veg? When I say no veg that includes everything doesn’t mean no veg apart from onions!! best kebab in Belfast? No chance!!

Ordered sphinx chip, don’t actually know what the sauce was supposed to be not curry, gravy or kebab? Was more peppery and didn’t taste like it should be on chips, didnt finish it and ordered the kebab burger could barely finish this either for the price was thinking I was getting a burger with kebab meat in it as it cost over 20 pounds for these two item was not worth it
