Alibi in Belfast

False advertising. There’s barely any people in the club and the guy who took the entry fee did not let the people know. It’s so deserted and no one should pay their hard earned money to be in a club that no one is willing to dance nor even come in. They are very well known for only letting ‘attractive’ people come in. Everyone that came in left or spoke about getting a refund. Also, the manager was rude.

Wouldn’t know how it’s inside as the door man wouldn’t let me …. 🤬

Amazing music and one of the few places with reasonable prices left on a Friday, door staff used to have a bad rep but they now have women on the door and a lot more relaxed staff Would recommend for a Friday, especially for a chill spot before it picks up again

Very friendly staff and good music and great spaces and a lot of booths

First, friendly and helpful staff all round. From the bars staff to the bouncers, Could not fault them at all. Drinks and music are brilliant and club was just the right amount of people. Not too crowded and not too quiet. The firegìrls are stunning

Had a £200 table booked for a birthday party, got to the door to find out entry had been ‘refused’ and that they ‘don’t give out reasons’ DO NOT GO TO THIS PLACE. Bouncers pick and choose who gets in. Terrible

Won’t be back, bouncers are pretentious stuck up people. Husband got kicked out for no reason after paying £17 to get in. Crowd in the nightclub also are horrible and think they’re in Made in Chelsea not Belfast. 0/10 will never be back the worst night club I’ve ever been in.

rude bouncers, empty club, never going back

Well we are 1 black person and 1 Middle Eastern and we were refused eatery because of our race. We are very well dressed and very sober we came out of 1 other place that we did not drink in as we were just checking where do we want to spend the night and when I tried to ask the bouncer why are we being refused entry he just switched on his body came and got all intimidating even though I was very carful not to come across aggressive and was very apologetic but he was just not ready to discuss just to fight. Then we walked away but we could see they were turning away more black guys. Shame that in 2022 this is still happening in a modern European city.

Good mix of music & friendly staff

Good venue, music was very RNB. Staff were very helpful and the bouncers where actually great crack! Even gave me a piece of gum when noone else in the place seemed to have any. I was overcharged for some mixers though but when I contacted them to check what I was charged for they informed me of their mistake and refunded me and apologised which was nice. Atmosphere was great but not sure if that's because it was NYE or if it's always like that. Had a great fire show aswell for NYE which was nice.

I truly do not know if the security at this club is simply racist, xenophobic or both. It appears that they hold personal grudges against anybody that does not look like them or come from their background(which is weird, grow up). Don't get me wrong, it is a cool club with great music that is not just techno like the rest of Belfast, but get rid of the egotistic, racist, and misogynistic bouncers.

Great music, beautiful smoking area and well priced drinks. Great party atmosphere and you have to love the added bonus of sitting in a ball pit on a night out!

Unless your are planning on spending big money on drink or reserving tables, do not go here, you could sit down for 1 minute and be told to get up again by a bouncer because you haven't paid for a table, not a fan

Door staff extremely rude and unprofessional! Had a VIP table booked and when we all arrived we got told we werent gonna get in! Bare in mind we were all dressed appropriate and completely sober! 'I dont need to give you a reason. You are not getting in' and shoved me out of the way! Never ever again!

Visité anoche (domingo festivo de mayo) como parte de un grupo de 4 y honestamente puedo decir que este lugar no vale la pena ir también. Hicieron una competencia en Facebook en la que había entrado uno de los miembros de la familia y se les había informado que habían ganado el premio de un stand para 10 personas, una botella de Prosecco gratis y la opción de agregar "Prosecco sin fondo" por 10 por persona. El mensaje del premio describió una serie de funciones de entretenimiento planeadas para la noche, incluido el Dj en el bar de la planta baja, y hubo estímulos para llegar temprano y disfrutar de cócteles a mitad de precio de 8 a 10 pm. Habiendo estado solo en Alibi dos veces antes y ninguna de las dos pensé que era algo especial y un poco carente de atmósfera. En comparación con otros lugares de vida nocturna en Belfast, decidimos ir a hacer una noche y el premio fue una excusa para darle otra oportunidad. . Eso fue un error ! Llegamos aprox. 8. Se informó a las 40 hs y al momento de pedir cócteles que no había cócteles a mitad de precio, esa oferta solo se aplica a mitad de semana. Explicando el premio y que teníamos los detalles por escrito, el hombre del bar llamó a un gerente y Alan llegó y una vez que vio la prueba de los mensajes, nos dijeron que era un error, pero aceptó que la persona de relaciones públicas de Alibi no tenía la información correcta. Cócteles o incluso entretenimiento. Consciente de que el premio 'un stand para 10 con una botella de prosecco complementario y la opción de agregar prosecco sin fondo para 10' podría no ser correcto, le preguntamos a Alan y él dijo que la oferta de prosecco era de 15 por persona, por lo que hay otra imprecisión en el mensaje 'ganador' . Fue a revisar el stand reservado y regresó para decir que estaba arreglado, así que nos relajamos y disfrutamos de unos cuantos cócteles cada uno durante las siguientes 2 horas y Alan cumplió con la oferta dentro del tiempo acordado. Comenzamos a relajarnos y disfrutar de nuestra velada, sin embargo, al subir al club para aprovechar el stand reservado, nos detuvimos y nos dijeron que teníamos que volver a bajar y conseguir estampillas. No estoy seguro de si pasamos por una puerta equivocada, pero no había ninguna indicación de que fuera la puerta equivocada y un amigo ya había entrado y no había regresado, así que la esperamos antes de bajar para que nos "sellaran". Y esta vez un gerente diferente a quien básicamente no le importó el correo electrónico del premio y dijo que el stand no era gratis. Todavía estamos confundidos de lo que era el premio. ¿Quizás el letrero reservado fue el premio? ? Hablaron de una lista de invitados: había unas 30 personas en la discoteca a las 11. 30 y no más de 15 abajo entre 8. 40 y 11 pm, por lo que un lugar en una lista de invitados no es nada especial. Otros lugares estaban llenos, ya que era domingo festivo, así que habla mucho, vaya a uno de los otros grandes bares y clubes de Belfast y tenga una buena noche y no se pierda Alibi. Muy mal servicio de Alibi y ninguna comunicación entre las relaciones públicas y el personal en el piso. El gerente Alan recuperó la situación en la planta baja y se disculpó por la falta de entretenimiento prometido aquí, pero la recuperación del servicio fue desperdiciada por el personal de arriba luego.

lovely place, nice cocktails but a little pricy

One star is generous! Unless your stuck up or friendly with the staff don't bother going! Took our money, within 30 minutes of my friend being shoved, elbowed and pushed by the same group on the dance floor we moved to a different part to avoid conflict and enjoy our night when a member of staff took my friend said he needed to ask questions and tricked her outside then refused entry without a valid reason, was then verbally abused by all staff outside and refused our money back as we were in 30 minutes and through out for no reason. Worst service, worst staff and don't bother going unless your a horrible person basically 🙌 digusting place and disgusting staff and will not let this go!

Good cozy experience besides the lazy bar manager drinking in the bar ,and no one picking up the glasses from the table. We asked for a grapefruit gin that was clearly labelled on the shelf to then be told there was none, retrain your bar staff.

Place is terrible , bar staff are sooo slow. Observed one bartender walking up and down the bar trying to avoid customers which where trying to order drinks. As someone that has much experience in working in a busy club, the staff are not interested in serving people. After we got the attention of that same bartender. He proceeded to take 12 mins to make 4 vodkas and juice. Paid 115 pounds for a table with table service. We got giving our drink when we sat down. After that we where never approached nor could we find anyone to order drinks from . So we went to the bar our selfs.

Absolute rubbish, and don't order a shisha cuz they don't work properly

Spent the NYE there, given it was packed the service was fast enough. I'd highly recommend getting sisha. Although a bit pricey it's definitely worth having some.

Good music, but they are letting far too much people in, you wanna dance and you cant barely move plus people bumping into you and pushing you constantly. Bar staff slow as poison, girl took my order and then dissappeared so i had to wait another 20 minutes to order again, so overall spent 30 minutes to get my drink. JOKE!

Fuimos a este club esta noche bajo la impresión de que era "el mejor club en Belfast". Falsa noticia. Después de mirar nuestra caminata masculino amigo sin problemas, me y el resto de mis amigos eran rechazados con la explicación "no esta noche". Después de uno de mis amigos de presionar por una respuesta, nos dijeron que no era suficiente" "a pesar de todo siendo vestido informal elegante esta noche. Las únicas chicas que vestían vestidos en bajo y corte carecía (no que cualquier sentencia de las chicas sólo interesante la tenían porteros los chicas). En general, despectiva, humillante y repugnante. Tres palabras para resumir mi experiencia de coartada. Elegir otro sitio personas, te mereces algo mejor.

Soy de Liverpool y no he visto personal como coartada. La tenían porteros son tan grosero y no dar una razón por la que no podía entrar. Yo estaba vestido de vestir/informal y me di cuenta de que las únicas chicas que estaban permitiendo entrar tenía poca vestidos y faldas con algún grado de fractura (no es nada malo con eso, pero dice mucho sobre la tenían porteros). Lo repugnante de la vida nocturna de primera impresión de belfast, tipo.

If I could give this place 0 stars, I would.. it was my friends' joint birthday and they turned us away "for no reason" and when we asked the reason the bouncers said "you aren't dressed up enough". Even though most of us are wearing dresses and "going out" outfits... Can't recommend this place to anyone unless you own half of Belfast, are half naked or wearing designer gear... definitely won't be back!

Creo que el bar/cocina es a veces ignorada por la parte de arriba del club (que también es fabuloso! ). El personal es muy amable y servicial, nada es demasiado problema. Was my 21st Birthday and was out with 11 of my mates, payed a £10 in and was upstairs for about 5 minutes before I realised I had no money, I went downstairs and asked the manager (Paul) whether I could leave to get money, after going round the corner to the cash machine and returning 2 minutes later the same manager stopped me as I was walking back in saying that he wasn't letting me back in. I honestly thought he was joking at first, I hadn't done anything wrong and I had just asked him whether I could leave. I asked him why, I clearly wasn't drunk, I had only just given him my ID 7 minutes prior and allowed me to pay in. This is when he started acting extremely rude and ignorant, I asked for a refund as I'd only just spent the £10 to get in, he said I wasn't getting one. Why this manager decided of all people to pick on me I don't know, I don't even know the guy and I'd never seen him before last night. The only reason I can think of is he gets a kick out of abuse of power. Ended up being pushed up the street by the bouncers who were only doing there job to be fair. Had no charge on my phone and couldn't contact my mates or a taxi, so had to walk for an hour to get home while my mates partied without me. My 21st birthday night out completely ruined for me as well as my mates who all payed in to celebrate with me. I hope the manager sees this and replies with the reason why I wasn't let back in or somehow admits that he was wrong and apologises to me. Disrespecting and alienating customers is not a way to run a business, I'd expect this kind of thing from a waiter or bar staff but not a manager.

Visitamos el viernes por la noche, el lugar estaba bastante vacío y nos sentamos junto a otra pareja, no es necesario hacer esto cuando el restaurante no está muy concurrido. Sentí que atravesaban su comida. No hay nadie más llegó después de nosotros, así que no es como otras mesas estaban ocupadas. De todos modos, el restaurante luce genial con el tema mexicano sin embargo personal requeriría más formación. Tomó años tome la orden, nos dejó con el menú y 2 cócteles tomó una hora y media para ser servido. Estábamos acabados de nuestra entrada en el momento en que llegaron. La comida estaba bien, las alas eran buenas para empezar, pero me pareció que el cerdo tacos bastante grasos. Tuve que saca enorme grasos bits, no ideal. El restaurante tiene potencial, es un lugar fresco pero tendrían que trabajar un par de cosas.

Same as previous posters! A pretentious club, enjoyed my first experience here but going with a group seems to be a no go. But they will let some of the group in, generally the lady's and give the lads the complimentary 'not tonight lads' while giving outlining they don't need to give a reason. If they were against groups or have a distinct dress code I could understand but the policy is definitely pretentious

Booked hen party here. Absolutely amazing. Service and staff perfect. Food was so yummy. Cocktail making was fun and beaut.!! Very good value for money. Beautiful place.

Alibi is amazing they have some of the nicest staff especially the bouncers. Had a really bad day and got way too drunk as my ex turns up and stuff and got myself in a really bad state and the bouncers were incredible! Thanks guys!

Shocking door staff. Refused entry and told that they dont have to give a reason, the girls in our group got in fine and one of the lads, when he came back out to check on us and the door staff seen he was with us he was told he wasn't getting back in.

I had planned my birthday meal in the bar kitchen, we got the meal deal of two courses and a cocktail for £15. The food was delicious and the service was fantastic.

Refused entry by extremely rude bar staff at 9 o'clock (when it opens) on a Saturday. Asked for ID, we produced it, they read my boyfriends and proceeded to say 'not the night'. When I asked why they said 'I don't have to give a reason'. I couldn't believe it I had just reviewed free passes from a promoter as it's only open ! No point in promoting a bar with such rude bar staff !

Awful attitude from door staff. They are there to do a job not judge people and have personal opinions..costing the club customers and money. Much better places to go...only go if your desperate is my opinion. Ten pound entry and 2 jagerbombs apparently cost £15 so take plenty cash

stupid stuff,,, should learn more manners

We came here in a large group for a 21st birthday in mid December, so it was unsurprisingly busy. The club itself is quite small, and the music was limited to RnB, so if that isn't your thing you'd probably wanna avoid. The bar staff were friendly but service was very very slow, having to wait over the Christmas period is understandable and to be expected but not 20 minutes at a bar no more than 1 person deep, I don't think it's a fault of the staff rather than an unprepared management. The drinks are bar prices, no student-y offers or anything which is grand and to be expected on a Saturday night in the city center. Another issue with our visit was the lack of floor staff, early on in the night a few drinks were spilled on the ledge where we were standing too and after asking staff for some blue roll to clean it one of the girls gave me a handful and continued to go from VIP table to VIP table. I know people give Limelight hell for having floor staff mopping around you nonstop but after one of our party had a slip on a massive puddle on the floor (not beside the aforementioned ledge) and cut her foot, I'd easily swap. The incident wasn't really dealt with ideally either, but anyway. It just makes you question if it's worth going to if you're not going to book a table (or if they're already fully booked) because they don't seem to care about your experience otherwise. Lots to think about if we ever consider going back, but for now it's looking unlikely.

Will would strongly recommend going elsewhere than this place very rude people within. Reason for saying is that me and mates where out for a get together at Xmas went for dinner then arrived at this place my friend went up to doormen said we had vip seats doorman went went away came back again give my friend the money back said not tonite no reason was given and told didn't have to give a reason. We weren't drunk and falling over place we were dressed accordingly to what at they want. Plenty Other nice bars in Belfast this is not one of them I would strongly recommend if you have been here had a bad experience write about it let other people know.
