Visited last night (May bank holiday Sunday) as part of a group of 4 & can honestly say this place is not worth going too. They ran a Facebook competition which one of the family had entered and they had been advised they had won a prize of a booth for 10 people, free bottle of prosecco and the option to add on 'bottomless prosecco' for £10 pp. The prize message outlined a number of entertainment features planned for the night including Dj in bar downstairs and there was encouragement to come early and enjoy half price cocktails 8-10pm. Having only been in Alibi twice before & neither time thinking it was anything special and somewhat lacking in atmosphere Compared to other nightlife venues in Belfast, we hesitantly decided to go and make a night of it and the prize was an excuse to give it another go. That was a mistake ! We arrived approx 8.40pm and on going to order cocktails were advised there was no half price cocktails, that offer only applies midweek. Explaining the prize and that we had the details in writing the bar man called a manager and Alan arrived and once he seen proof of messages, we were told it was a mistake but he accepted the Alibi PR person didn’t have the correct information regarding cocktails or indeed entertainment. Conscious that the prize 'a booth for 10 with bottle of complimentary prosecco & option to add on bottomless prosecco for £10' might not be correct we asked Alan & he said the prosecco offer was £15 pp so another inaccuracy in the 'winning' message. He went to check on the reserved booth and came back to say it was sorted so we relaxed and enjoyed a few cocktails each over the next 2hrs & Alan honoured the offer on these within the agreed time. We started to unwind and enjoy our evening, however on moving upstairs to the club to avail of the reserved booth we got stopped and told we had to go back down and get stamps. Not sure if we went through a wrong door but there was no indication it was the wrong door and one friend had already entered and not returned so we awaited her before going down to get 'stamped'. As we waited a hostess arrived and realising we were for the booth she took us through and seated us. A few of us went to the ladies & on return still no sign of the complimentary prosecco & then a security man arrived to tell us there was some confusion and we had to pay! Once again it was a case of you have to go downstairs and talk to a manager 🙄 & this time a different manager who basically didnt care about the prize email & said the booth wasn't free. We are still confused what the prize was - maybe the reserved sign was the prize ?? They talked about a guest list - there was about 30 people in the nightclub at 11.30 and no more than 15 downstairs between 8.40 and 11pm so a place on a guest list isn't anything special. Other venues were packed as it was bank holiday Sunday so that speaks volumes - go to one of the other great bars and clubs in Belfast and have a good night and give Alibi a miss. Very very poor service from Alibi & no communication between PR and staff on the floor. Manager Alan did recover the situation on the ground floor & apologised for the lack of entertainment promised here but this service recovery was wasted by upstairs staff afterwards.

I think the bar/kitchen is sometimes overlooked by the club upstairs (which is also fabulous!). Staff is really friendly & helpful, nothing is ever too much trouble. Cocktails are to die for and the music is always great! On a Friday, there are some cocktails for £4 which is such a good deal!

Visited on a Friday night, place was pretty empty and we were seated right beside another couple, there is no need to do this when the restaurant isn't busy. I felt like we were invading their meal. No one else came in after us so it's not like other tables were booked. Anyway, the restaurant looks great with the Mexican theme however staff would require more training. Took ages to take order, left us with the menu and 2 cocktails took half an hour to be served. We were finished our starter by the time we got them. Food was ok, the wings were good to start but I found the pork tacos quite fatty. I had to poke huge fatty bits out, not ideal. The restaurant has potential, it's a cool spot but they would need to work on a few things.

We came here in a large group for a 21st birthday in mid December, so it was unsurprisingly busy. The club itself is quite small, and the music was limited to RnB, so if that isn't your thing you'd probably wanna avoid. The bar staff were friendly but service was very very slow, having to wait over the Christmas period is understandable and to be expected but not 20 minutes at a bar no more than 1 person deep, I don't think it's a fault of the staff rather than an unprepared management. The drinks are bar prices, no student-y offers or anything which is grand and to be expected on a Saturday night in the city center. Another issue with our visit was the lack of floor staff, early on in the night a few drinks were spilled on the ledge where we were standing too and after asking staff for some blue roll to clean it one of the girls gave me a handful and continued to go from VIP table to VIP table. I know people give Limelight hell for having floor staff mopping around you nonstop but after one of our party had a slip on a massive puddle on the floor (not beside the aforementioned ledge) and cut her foot, I'd easily swap. The incident wasn't really dealt with ideally either, but anyway. It just makes you question if it's worth going to if you're not going to book a table (or if they're already fully booked) because they don't seem to care about your experience otherwise. Lots to think about if we ever consider going back, but for now it's looking unlikely.

My husband and I were out for dinner and decided to go to Alibi for a few drinks and meet some of his work friends there who had a table booked. As we walked up to the door we were told 'not tonight.' When we questioned why the bouncer refused to give us a reason and said 'we have the right to refuse admission.' I have never felt so degraded in all my life. We were not drunk and were appropriately dressed, there was no logical reason to refuse us entry!!! Next door there was a queue at Benedicts and no no queue at alibi, in fact alibi was dead! I don't know what business in this day in age can afford to turn away good money. In fact a friend who works there was sent home early during the week as there was only 2 people in the club, speaks volumes!! If they continue to behave like this they will all be out of jobs as they will be out of business!! I had a similar experience a few years ago in Eivissa who were also renowned for doing the same thing and where are they now? Out of business!!! I will never be back to such a pretentious hole where the bouncers are on a power trip!! We'll see how much of a power trip they are on when they are in the queue for the dole!!

The door man appeared not to be fizzled by what she said, and replied "well get to the back of the queue and I'll see about getting you a refund" We did get a full refund and happily spent it elsewhere, their was no call for their attitude and for the poor service. My friend and I visited Belfast for a weekend & was looking for a good night out. My friend suggested that we go to Alibi...BIG MISTAKE! As we approached the entrance of Alibi one of the "door staff" stepped in our way, stopping us in our tracks & said "Not tonight". Believing that I had misheard him I said "excuse me". He repeated his "not tonight" statement. As we were dressed appropriately and weren't drunk or rowdy I asked "why?" only to be told "I don't have to give you a reason"!!! My friend then said "you're joking, right?" to which he shook his head. Considering his attitude made an atrocious first impression it was then I told my friend to "leave it because even if he was joking I wouldn't want to enter alibi" and we turned to get a taxi to go to another club. As we turned three other girls approached the entrance and the "doorman" stepped aside to let them proceed.Since then I have read quite a few reviews about Alibi...I have gathered that the unnecessary treatment that we received isn't the only time the "door staff" have acted in such a way, in fact most of them mention the "door staff".Taking into account my own personal experience and the experience of others which is clearly documented in the reviews they have left, there is definitely a negative message being communicated about Alibi. My advice to Alibi is...Do yourselves a favour and clearly state on all marketing literature the specific clientele you wish to frequent your club, inform your "door staff" that your "focus is on bourbon served with a twist and excellent customer service" and provide them with appropriate customer service training so they can implement your "focus" before this pretentious club shuts down permanently!!! As the ignorant and unprofessional "door staff" couldn't provide us with a reason as to why we were refused entry, I thought it was only fair & the very least a manager could do before posting this negative review, after all there website does encourage patrons to "tell them you where here".Management responded with:-"Thank you for your email and apologies for the late response. Sorry to hear about your experience at the front doors of Alibi, the club is in high demand and unfortunately we cannot accommodate everyone. It would be difficult for us to identify exactly why your party was refused entry, however the club does reserve the right to refuse admission. We will continue to monitor the door staff as we do with all staff. Thank you for your feedback Regards,Management."I'm assuming that Alibi has some sort of perception that they are exclusive...if they continue the way they are going they will make themselves that exclusive that no one will want to frequent there club!

This place doesn't even deserve a rating. There is nothing good or enjoyable about this place. My friends and I (4 of us) had a night out last night and started off in Benedicts then decided to go to Alibi. Worst mistake ever. The bouncer asked me when we got to the front of the line 'just the four of you?' and I replied 'yes' and he then said 'not tonight girls' I was gobsmacked. That has never happened to me before. We were dressed appropriately and were not drunk. I found it funny though that the bouncer was obese and seemed to have a right to judge others lol We got out of the line but my two other friends were persistent and joined the line again and eventually they got in. I personally didn't want to give this club my money but I went with my other friend and we got in... I don't understand the system here... just moments before we were refused entry then in twos we were allowed in?? So many people were being refused entry yet when we got in (about half 10 near 11) the dance floor was empty lmaoWhy would they be refusing entry to so many people for no reason on a sat night? Do they not understand the term ' good business'? It was £10 entry fee. Overly priced for a the standard of the place. The music is AWFUL! Don't go here if you have taste in music. Rave after rave after rave... maybe an rnb song thrown into the mix but mostly dance/rave. My friend knows a girl who works there and got us VIP stamped on our hand... so I thought this night may just get that little bit better. I was wrong, VIP is overcrowded and unappealing. The unisex toilets are ridiculous. You close the cubicle door and you're in sudden darkness... can't see a thing. We stayed for about half an hour to forty-five minutes when I said to my friends I can't stick another minute in here. They all agreed so we left and returned to Benedict's where we stayed for the rest of the night and had a blast. The bouncers are extremely arrogant and laughable. I will never step foot near this hole again.

I think they may have some warped idea that this will make them seem exclusive or something but it is an incredibly stupid plan. This is a new bar/nightclub that serves tapas type food in the early evening. They offer 3 generous light bites and a bottle of decent wine for £20. We went early on a Saturday evening. It was very quiet, with an odd mix of very young and middle aged. The pool table in the middle as you come in the door doesn't seem to fit the otherwise classy image and may attract the "wrong" crowd although we did enjoy a game!. The food and wine was very good. The venue is clearly aiming for the night club market but still a pleasant venue around six o'clock if you want to avoid the heaving bars of the city centre.
