The Souvlaki Derby in Derby

I’ve been trying to order for hour and all third party sites don’t work and no one picks up very disappointing when this place was recommended as my bday meal

Best gyros in the UK, the tzatziki is a bit bland and the pita bread was okay. This place is my go to when ordering food.

Lovely people running a lovely food outlet. Exceptional value for money and fresh ingredients used to create memorable food. We'll be back!

As a Greek I know what the original taste of souvlaki and baklava is, honestly the food was the best I have ever had abroad not only in the U.K so far. Next day we went back for coffee, don't miss it!!!! Congratulations guys, you are doing a great job!!

Food was ok quality, had the chicken souvlaki skewer box and only got 1 small skewer which was a bit dry and overcooked. Food took a while make. The portion size itself was good, but it was all salad and chips even though they were nice. Doesn’t come close to the gyros at Mezzo on Pride Park.

When your missing your great food and atmosphere. Best place to come. 🇬🇷

Well at the restaurant it was good but when I ordered it they only gave a box with only like chips bearly any chicken and a wrap that was like half a size of a real rap and it cost 16£

Very nice food, clean, friendly service, and civilised because there was no alcohol on premises so no loud behaviour, well done to the owner, best wishes.

I have eaten in and had take away...always fresh..always hot...always tasty. Recommended to my Greek Cypriot friend he tried it and said it was just like having it from home! What a compliment..try I you won't be disappointed 🥰

I am pleased to find an authentic Greek restaurant/cafe with tasty Souvlaki/Gyros in Derby. A nice variety of gyros, wraps, skewers, salads, and Ribeye steak. Nice atmosphere and friendly staff. Some Greek products to buy are also on display.

Great value for money. Good portion sizes. Been to Greece as a tourist and I can confidently say this place is authentic. We paid £28 to make 3 people very full.

Amazing authentic Greek cuisine!!! We opted for Gyros & salad box. Both were absolutely delicious. Huge portion sizes!! Baklava & portokalopita were very tasty. Highly recommended place to eat if visiting Derby.

We've ordered takeaway a few times now and as a Greek myself I can confirm that they could set up shop in Athens and the locals would go "oh yeah that's the stuff". The chicken ✔️ the chips ✔️ the gyros ✔️ the pitta ✔️ the sausage ✔️ the drinks ✔️ the chocolate ✔️. It's all the right stuff, we love it.

We got so much delicious food for our money and the service was great! I especially loved the tzatziki. We left with a box of our leftovers and a recipe recommendation for the Greek pasta we bought. We will definitely be back!

It's not the cheapest but hands down the best. The gyros are genuinely better than what you get in Greece. Feta chips are bursting with flavour, I couldn't even wait to take the picture without taking a massive bite out of the meal. If you like Greek food this place will not disappoint...

Stopped in for lunch today and it was absolutely amazing. The vibe inside is so nice. The staff are so friendly and helpful. The food is so good. The souvlaki is easily the best in Derby and probably one of the best in England. Would highly recommend. So solid.

Just ordered takeaway, we had chicken gyros & oregano fries with feta. Everything was absolutely amazing! We will definitely be going in for a meal soon or ordering again! We both love gyros and think these are the best we have had, even better than the ones we had in Greece. It’s a little more expensive than other places in Derby but it is definitely worth it, do not be put off by it being a bit more.

First time trying The Souvlaki tonight, wasn’t sure what to expect with it being a Tuesday evening town was pretty quiet. Was greeted very politely and I asked about the different items on the menu and what was included in each dish. I went for the Chicken Gyros meal deal. Although there was a wait of about 15 mins the food came piping hot, clearly fresh and was packed full of flavour and great value for money! Decor inside was inviting - clean and tidy and the customer service was great! Will defiantly be back :)

I have visited The Souvlaki a couple of times now, as well as ordered via delivery. The dishes are wonderfully authentic, and the puddings/sweets are to die for. Also a nice collection of packaged Greek Biscuits, Drinks etc. I'm not in City Centre too often, but will always pop in here when I get the chance!

Absolutely one of the best gyros outside of Greece I've had it twice now and my husband had the mixed grill first time then the gyros Eat in or take away We eat in Reasonably priced Friendly staff (as all Greeks are ) Would definitely recommend to anyone Hope to get in again soon

If your looking for fantastic Greek food do not look any further. This restaurant is a great addition to the Derby restaurant scene. We went for lunch yesterday - we were greeted by Chris, seated and ordered accordingly. Real nice ambience to the place and a great menu. The food was amazing - the mezzo the steak the sausages the sides the Greek salad wow what a tasty meal. Service exceptional, food great and real nice clean and relaxing environment. We will be back very soon - the best Greek restaurant in the Midlands.

Very poor in size which is disproportionate to the huge cost! I found the food bland and the bread stodgy. At £9.99 I expected way better considering the cost of a Gyros at Alatarka on Midland road. The skewers were £4.50, very nice but way over the top with price for a measly portion of 4 cube sized cuts. Tried it, won't be back!

The best food I've had in the UK . Definitely recommend to try it . Absolutely amazing flavours . We had the chicken gyros and the mix gyros box . Our new favourite spot. Cannot recommend any more .

Overpriced and salty food and always forget your dips. They forgot our chips and dips and we had already paid for takeaway. Food bland and overpriced will not be going there again. I know how Greek food should taste, but this place is not for us.

This place has some of the best food I had in Derby. The traditional wrap is incredible and sooo tasty. I wish I knew about this food place sooner.

Ordered steak , it was so amazing cooked and taste very nice! The portion was very good, couldn't even finish all chips ! There is no place in derby with same taste of steak. Highly recommended. Interior inside amazing, really love it. Friendly staff. Definitely come back to try something more from Greek cuisine!

We had the souvlaki wraps x 3 and 1 of the souvlaki boxes with additional chicken skewers and a fantastic meal. Fairly priced in my opinion and the food was cooked fresh with a high attention to detail. Nice mix and balance of sauce, salad, meat and chips so it didn’t feel too heavy in a particular ingredient. When the family ate their food it brought us all back to our holidays in the Greek islands. Definitely be back and a welcome addition to Derby.

Souvlaki is a hidden gem for the most delectable gyros box in town! The flavors are authentic, the meat is perfectly cooked, and the toppings are fresh and flavorful. The staff is friendly and the prices are reasonable. Highly recommend this Greek restaurant for an unforgettable dining experience!

Love this small spot! Fresh food, tasty and offers all dietary requirements. I really love the simplicity of the salad with vegan chicken or halloumi. I love their aubergine dip - so tasty and I would buy it in bulk! Also, the people who run this establishment are so nice and so polite. A real gem in Derby!

Brilliant food! One of the best souvlaki that I had in the UK and trust me I’ve tried many. Felt like I’m back in Greece. The 3* is purely down to price. £30 for 2 souvlaki boxes, is way overpriced! Also the box only comes with one skewer in, too much money for “no meat” meal.

Amazing food asked for no chips in wrap and meat was plenty hot and by far best gyro reminded me of holidays. Loved homemade dressing. Fresh and far better than the German kebabs. Please try and support this nice couple in offering really good food. See you soon

This is a great place if you enjoy Greek food(and who doesn’t!!)I went in today for the first time and ordered the pork gyro.After living in Greece for many years and having eaten more than my fair share of gyros this was comparable to the ones eaten in Greece.Also a lovely couple running the shop and great to find they also have a small collection of Greece produce for anyone wanting to try their hand at a bit of home made Greek cooking!!Overall would highly recommend..

Bloody lovely. Ordered on Deliveroo and it was great. Would have liked an option to have a hotter chilli sauce but that's a minor issue. Overall, this was excellent.

Ordered a delivery through Deliveroo just now. Was INCREDIBLE. As a veggie it is hard to find meals which aren't just carby/greasy/low protein but there is veggie chicken on the menu! The chips are awesome too, so much nicer than regular takeaway chips. So great :) will be coming back again. 10/10.

Heard about this place and happened to come across it tonight. Went in and ordered…… got the food home and it was delicious, will defo be having it again. Just had chicken gyros , one with the Greek cheese, one without, both spot on. Defo think they going to do well ! 5 stars from us 😝
