Good food, good service, good atmosphere. Highly recommend

We took our dad out for a birthday dinner and had a great time. Olivia looked after us so well and the food was lovely.

Pepitos is our favourite spot in Derby. The decor is lovely & well themed without being too much of a gimmick. The menu is fairly small (good sign usually), and the mole steak is so nice. The margaritas are so good, I advise anyone reading this to give them a go. Friendly staff & good ambiance. Love you Pepitos, from Oli.

Disappointing. We used to come here regularly years ago. Now the service is almost non existent. 20 mins for someone to take a drink order was just ridiculous, we even had to find someone so we could order. Food was meh, nothing special. The difference between chips & dips and the nachos was literally cheese. Unfortunately we won't be back. We used to love this place but not anymore

Very pleasant atmosphere with fun decor. Few unexpected spicy surprises in the fajitas that would have been preferable on the side. Nevertheless a yummy meal. As expected.

Will start on a positive by saying they serve the best mojito I’ve ever had and the design of the restaurant is on brand and nice, but other than that I wasn’t impressed. Slow service and underwhelming food. Had to ask three times for some water. Vegans beware, check your ‘vegan’ food before biting in, as they might have added cheese to it. Paprika fries were nice, veggie burrito was very underwhelming, guacamole was ok and refried beans were lacking in flavour. Wouldn’t bother visiting again for the price and an overall not great experience.

thought we’d come try a place we’d never been to before, firstly we got given an alcohol menu. we both then ordered an alcoholic drink, 10 minutes later we got asked for iD and said we couldn’t have it. then she gave me some non alcoholic mojito that was 5.95! then we waited 20 minutes just to order our mains, we then ordered it with a different waitress. i ordered the mexican BBQ , with chicken and RICE. my partner ordered the chicken enchiladas with paprika fries and onion rings. we waited another 30 minutes, which is standard at a busy restaurant, my partners came out first looking a bit of a small portion for 14.95! mine came out 5 minutes later, on a skewer with FRIES, when i ordered rice. the chicken wasn’t even bbq it was just grilled, and it was all cold. didn’t wait for anyone to come over because i would’ve been waiting so long! no one came over to ask if our food was nice. wouldn’t really recommend coming back, but apparently the cheesecake is supposed to be nice, however we didn’t dare try that as we’d have to wait 30 minutes for that also!

Great meal last night, beer seemed quite expensive, but food and service was good apart from clearing our table whilst one was still eating.

I've chilled my tooth on a bit of bone on my enchiladas and nearly choked to death on a HUGE!! cartridge in quesadilla!!! I suggest you pay more attention to the food you cook and serve to people! I wouldn't recommend this place!

Ive been coming to pepitos for years, it's always the same consistency! amazing quality authentic Mexican food. Atmosphere is lovely nobody does it better than pepitos. Thankyou for the beautiful food once again. 😄

Been here at least 6 times, celebrated anniversaries and birthdays here, or just a date night meal. All of the staff are lovely, especially the manager, who is always kind to us. The food is always top tier, never had a bad meal from here. Highly recommend the chicken quesadillas, enchiladas, and their fajitas. The chips and other sides are also lovely. The desserts are beautiful and all the drinks and cocktails are good too. Very strong drinks, just what you'd expect from a Mexican restaurant. The setting is lovely, Mexican music and theme, they even let you wear a sombrero if you ask. Decently priced too. Got 2 meals, a few drinks and a dessert for about £30. Will always come here for as long as I live nearby, and even then.♥️

We have been to Pepito's a number of times over the years since it first opened, and it's NEVER disappointed! The welcome, hospitality, atmosphere has always been superb, and the food always tasty. And last night's meal was no different, had a great time. Many thanks to all the team! It's well worth a visit.

Everything was perfect. We loved the decor , the food was delicious and service was great too.

Excellent experience, first off the prices haven’t changed since BC (before covid) which is ridiculous! I had the Chicken and Chorizo quesadilla to start which was very tasty and the. Enchiladas for my main. Both courses were larger than expected and very tasty! (All the traditional Mexican dishes are great) Alcohol draught choice is limited but bottled beers/ciders are good. Service was excellent and even with seemingly new staff we had no complaints We never have a bad meal here and as I first mentioned the prices are excellent. We’ll be back agin soon. P.S the house sauce is a must!

Where do I begin? Me and my boyfriend were looking for a Mexican restaurant as the one local to us had closed down. We were gutted but discovered this place from google. I’m so glad we came here. The starters (we ordered the nachos and tacos) were Devine. The nachos had freshly made salsa with chunky tomato and lovely sour cream with flavoured tortilla chips. The tacos were perfect and we couldn’t get over how fresh the lettuce was! Our mains which was the enchiladas and chimichanga tasted like they came from the heavens themselves. Me and my partner could not believe how beautiful and flavoursome they were. Our servers were also the most lovely of people and made us feel so welcome into Pepitos. This is now our number one destination for Mexican food. Well done pepitos!!!!

Great food, great staff and reasonably priced. We had the Mexican BBQ lamb and the lamb was really well seasoned and juicy, the steak and prawn fajitas had a great flavour and cooked well and the burrito was full of meat and great flavour. I had some cocktails and they were all great.we had to finish with the churros and again these were really good. We will definitely be making this one of our favourite restaurants.

Excellent food but the restaurant was particularly cold (we did not remove our coats throughout the whole meal) and the service was awful! I would give 5 stars for the food quality, however the staff would benefit from some simple training. We waited 15 minutes to order drinks, 10 for drinks to arrive and a further 15 minutes to have a glass delivered!?! Waited a further 20 minutes to order food then 30 minutes for this to arrive. Served wrong food for another table until the next door table identified that this was their food. When the bill arrived this was incorrect with charges for items NOT ordered, with the same non-alcoholic drink charged at 2 different prices. A service charge was automatically added (which we felt was unjustified). Restaurant was not particularly busy, however due to the staff’s inexperience this spoilt the otherwise fantastic food. We have been eating here for over 20 years and we sincerely hope that Peppitos can address their staff training to improve the customer’s experience (and possibly turn the heating on).

Part of the order was wrong and the food was cold. Chicken not great quality. I ordered tortilla chips and dips and was sent tortilla wraps? Driver didn’t even speak overall wish I’d not bothered. Can accept an order being a little late but it wasn’t what I ordered. Not up to the usual restaurant quality.

Amazing food! Wonderful servers! Our lovely server was training a new staff member and it was great to see her being so attentive to both us and the new trainee. Food was so delicious I could eat it all over again. If we were local we would come every week! We have come for our 1 year wedding anniversairy and it was absolutely the right choice. 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟

Great visit on Boxing Day. First time visiting pepitos after hearing so many great reviews. Really nice place with great atmosphere and decor. Good value for money too.

It was ok. Disappointed there was some hard inedible pieces of chicken in our nachos, we complained about this but nothing was done or said, not even a simple apology. Restaurant felt very cold- colder than outside! Fajitas and chimichanga was good.

Always enjoy food from pepito's. It was fresh, tasty and warm when delivered. They are also very generous with the sauces supplied. The vegetable Quesadilla was very nice, the guacamole dip was also very good. Will definitely order from them again.

My family and I have eaten at Pepitos a couple times. Great tasting food and the atmosphere is really nice. We just recently went with a large group of our friends so there was 8 of us total, and we all had such a great time. They even gave us tequila shots on the house 😂

Surprise treat for the wife (and a short walk from the station). Friendly staff, comfortable chairs, clean table. Really quiet though and lacking atmosphere for a Friday night. Delicious food - my loaded potato skins were really tasty and my chimichanga was stuffed and delicious. Decent wine. All in all good value - they add a 10% service charge of which only 30% goes to the servers (our server told me).

Our daughter chose to have her 18th Birthday family meal here and it was amazing! The staff were beyond friendly and helpful, the atmosphere was perfect and the food and drinks exceptional. Having visited many times previously (a long time ago) it's reminded me to visit more often. Thank you!

If your passion is centered around tapas, enchiladas, tacos and other foods, there's no excuse not to visit Pepitos, a superior Mexican restaurant that is approximately 5 minutes walk from the Derby Midland train station. Rustic, budget-friendly décor, a menu of common dishes, pedestrian prices, and dedicated, competent employees make this restaurant one of the most popular places to eat in Derby. The waiter's head was very polite and diplomatic, he easily resolved a situation that I had with a family that didn't appreciate me taking pictures of the location. I had a rather extravagant dinner at the restaurant in October, and I will eagerly return to the city when I'm back.Recommended!

Sneaks a 10% tip onto the bill without telling you

Lovely Mexican restaurant, very friendly staff.

The chicken quesadillos had bones in it, had a bone chunk then next bite had a bone flake. If there's chorizo then it's paper thin slices as it's very under filled. Churros did not taste of churro or cinnamon so either reusing old oil or they're frying food for other dishes in same oil and are half the size of other restaurants. Chicken tanga burrito has had no bones so far but is pretty tasteless and the first couple bites were just tortilla and spring onion as wasn't put together evenly. Paprika fries are your basic super cheap ones and I don't know how, but no paprika flavour despite seeing that they'd been dusted. Unless you like incredibly flavourless food it's not worth the money!

We ordered takeaway and the staff were friendly; patient and efficient. Order was processed i Lyn reasonable time. The restaurant felt warm and cosy inside without being too loud . Had the right balance for a private , friendly meal. Price is reasonable. Will be back.On road parking in front or around the side.

A warm welcome from delightful staff. Groovy decor, ice cold beer & decent house wine. Not fine dining, but great, tasty food for a fair price and served with a cheery, genuine smile. Will look forward to visiting again on our next trip to Derby.

Been here a few times when visiting Derby Arena. Excellent food each time. The chimichangas are a favourite. Friendly and attentive service each visit.

Had a really lovely meal with my family. Food was tasty, service was fab.

We’ve visited before, but came tonight, group of 4, for an early dinner. We were seated straight away. I love the decor and atmosphere here. Comfortable seating. Our waitress took our orders and our drinks came straight away. Our starters came quickly. 3 of us had Quesadillas, and they were really lovely. The loaded potato skins looked great too. Our mains were all delicious. I had the Beef Enchiladas, they were really tasty. The chicken Fajitas looked amazing, I might try those next time. The burritos we ordered were great too (I’ve had them before, delicious!) I couldn’t fit dessert in sadly. The honeycomb cheesecake is my daughters favourite, and she was very happy with it. The melting chocolate cake got good reviews too. Our waitress was lovely. All the staff were very friendly and professional, and couldn’t do enough for us. We will most definitely be back. Came here for my birthday (came for my birthday last year and a work Christmas do as well) absolutely fantastic!!! I especially love the chicken and chorizo quesadillas but all the food is fantastic The staff are all fantastic, lovely atmosphere Pepitos is my favourite restaurant now, hope to have many more birthdays here!

I visited Pepitos earlier this week with my husband and daughter. Its such a lovely place. The staff are so friendly and attentive. They were also able to accommodate my daughters dietary requirements which is wonderful. Will definitely visit again.

Always delicious food and never a disappointment… except when you put my fries in with my chicken Rioja… it makes them soggy! Otherwise no complaints from me 😁

Had a lovely meal here, the steak was really tasty. The cheesecake is a must. I found no problems with the young staff who were lovely. Very disappointed to see comments relating to some sort of grudge. There will always be translation problems, which is common in most restaurants. Derby doesn't have many good restaurants but Pepito's one of my favourites to done at along with Zorba. I will definitely be going back. There is 20% off in the week, so give it try and see for yourself. I had steak Rioja.

Manager is extremely unprofessional. Hired a bunch of 16-17 year olds and expects them to know everything at the click of a finger. Loves to humiliate people. And by the way all your food is frozen in a unhygienic freezer we’re vegetarian food and meat food are stored together 🙂

Good ambience/decor. Pleasant staff. Short meal waiting time. Large portions and good taste. Makes for a good time out and experience trying out Mexican dishes.

Food still good, nice music, service was a bit slow considering there was only about 3 other tables in, the person behind the bar and female server seemed too busy flirting with each other which was pretty inappropriate

Pepitos has always been one of our favourite restaurants, always great food at a good price.. always get that holiday vibe when visiting. Highly recommend.
