Amigo Derby in Derby

It was my first time ordering takeaway last weekend, and I was amazed by both the serving size and the taste of the food. You can choose to eat in or take your food away, and it’s conveniently located close to Derby Train Station.

I was a regular, always had positive things to say but recently it’s gone down hill. They kept ringing me to change my order because they didn’t have the things that were on the menu. The chicken wrap was really dry and not very nice and to top it off I had a loyalty card and got to 50%. I went to use it and was refused and only allowed 30%. That to me was the collapse of their integrity and I’ve given up on the place!

Amigo derby it is a best restaurant I ever been in derby the staff are very friendly and very helpful the food is great and affordable most important is the food is clean and the restaurant it is very clean I will recommend everyone to try Amigo derby

If we want a Mexican takeaway we always order from Amigos. My husband loves their stuffed peppers. Never had a bad experience. Would recommend.

Amigos is a lovely hidden gem in plain sight! Owners that really care and staff that are really understanding of different dietary requirements and allow tailoring of items on the menu. I have not yet had a chance to explore more of the menu but at the moment my favourite item is the beef tacos. They come to my taste very palatable for most people but if you are more adventurous you can always have some chillies added to it. They accept cards and cash and have a small seating area inside. I would highly recommend that if you're in the local area or having a walk around town give them a go I doubt you'll be disappointed.

Really inviting and friendly takeaway even on a Saturday night! Quality mexican food as well, I had an oven baked burrito that was absolutely delicious!

Food is beautiful, tastes homemade and clean, never had a bad experience, the staff are polite and lovely, the drivers are courteous and polite. My go to without a doubt, something for everyone 😘

Think a change of ownership or staff has happened recently. Been going for the last 4 years and we’ve just had a chicken kebab that’s more than likely the reheat frozen chicken pieces you buy for your dog and it was just in a wrap (no pitta or naan) and our cheese and chips was very small it looked lost in the box. Rang up, staff said there has been a change to the menu? Whilst changing the menu they have also changed standards by the looks of it. End on a positive note though, the nachos with melted cheese were ok.

Had a great experience eating at Amigo, the food is excellent quality and you never leave hungry - the staff are amazing too. I've tried other Mexican places in Derby but this place is número uno.

Try find a better takeaway in derby than here! Amazing food, good menu and the staff are so friendly. Give it a try you won't be disappointed. They honestly care about the quality and the customer. The way the food is presented and even packaged. My favourite go to when I fancy some tasty food!

First and sadly maybe the last time trying here was a one off as we live at Durham! The staff here went above and beyond giving us loyalty discount although we are unlikely able to get food from here again been so far away!🥲 but it would be worth the travel 😉, definitely the best chilli nachos we have ate! Please give this place a try you’ll not be disappointed

We've been ordering from Amigo for a few years now and what we received today prompted us to write this review. The mexican rice was bland - virtually no flavour, so was the chimichanga, but what struck us the most was the fact that the sour cream was so diluted with water that it could pass as Elmlea Single Cream.. This is far from the quality we've been receiving so far. I understand that times are hard, but cutting corners on quality..? You can do better, Amigo.

I am not sure what has changed but food from Amigo is definitely not the same as a year ago. Even though I appreciate their discount codes and chunky portions, still it is not more important than good quality of food. I am so disappointed that I won't order again, and it used to be my favourite Mexican restaurant in the area.

Great pizza, very similar to real italian pizza and completely different from those intrusively sold everywhere chesse breadpies called pizza.

Been to Amigos multiple times for take out, always excellent service. Friendly staff, good wait time and meals are easily changed to suit preferences. The meals we have ordered look exactly like the images and taste even better. The mild option is perfect is for people who don't like too much spice but still enjoy Mexican style food. Highly reccomend!

Nice flavours but delivery doesn’t come fast enough to keep the food warm & the supposed large chips were tiny!

The best Mexican food place in derby Luis is a great singer he will sing for you ladies if you ask while giving his special enchiladas with his back up supporting staff always delivering best customer service.
