Great venue and band! Will definitely return.

What a wonderful pub. It's right by the train station but also the river, so if you've gone for a cheeky paddle up the river then pop here afterwards for a decent drink at good prices. If you're really lucky too then you'll be there when It's a Pizza Thing are out front serving up the absolute top shelf pizza's. If I'm wrong and you see me in the street then you have 100% permission to slap me but it won't happen. That's how good these guys are.... P.s Try the Zardis, super tasty 😋 👌

Amazing staff, great drinks selection, lovely outside area, often there is live music and a juke box, the best pub in Southampton! Wed-Fri there is a pizza van - heavenly! Will sorely miss when we move! Absolutely worth a visit.

My favourite pub in Southampton. Normally has six real ales on offer. There was live music the night I was there. I use it to goto St Mary's on Saturday which is about 20 minutes walking distance. The pub is right on St Deny's train station. Great place wonderful atmosphere. Great beer. Also has a beer garden.

Have always loved this pub. Lived round the corner in the 60,s and 70,s. Now live in Portsmouth, but always come back every month .

One of my first pub experiences and I have been coming back year upon year. It has changed hands over the years but is a quality boozer. Love the South western.

Lovely pub bands on a regular basis great atmosphere was busy so service had to wait but polite and welcoming x

Busy local boozer right by the station and a cracking pizza van outside most Wednesday Thursday and Friday evenings. Pizza from a wood fired oven and a greatnpint with an eclectic crowd. Nice guys at the bar too. Happy days.

A total gem, great range of beers and ciders from independent breweries. Very relaxed atmosphere, with large outside area with multiple seating areas.

Food=beer, as no food served there (at least on a Friday when I go). Although there is snow excellent pizza van outside most Fridays and they are excellent... nothing to do with the pub, though. Service is at bar and can be slow....usually only one person serving but there are other staff milling around. Atmosphere is a bit rowdy...and not really in a friendly way. I wouldn't go here on a date if I were you 🤣

Planned a day out with this being our first stop. Says open from 10 on Sundays but doors were locked at 11:45. How disappointing

Super selection of cask ales. Has an upstairs area with a pool table etc. Garden area for those who like fresh air or smoking...

Very good Southampton pub about 25 minutes walk from St Mary's Stadium. Seven cask beers - and 1 cider - on handpump when I visited. Lots of outdoor seating some of it covered in a garden which incudes a pond with goldfish! Quiet a couple of hours before the Spurs game.

Excellent and comfortable atmosphere, fantastic range of draught ales and ciders that are really well kept - a brilliant little pub hidden in St Denys.

Great place. Really welcoming staff and well priced drinks.

Proper Southampton pub. Did not go there for food.

The band I am with played at the venue and a fine evening it was, it was not our first time and won't be our last. Great atmosphere

Great pub, love the new wood burner too. Always bustling and friendly. Only thing that let it down tonight was the loudness of the music. Went home with a headache after shouting at friends across the table for 3 hours and trying to follow conversations. Background music is great but at a level where you can chill and chat too please :)

The SWA was superbly positioned for a pint after a long walk from St. Mary's after watching Leeds draw with Southampton. We were forced to spend more time here as our return train was cancelled (Oh dear). Very pleasant seating at the rear featuring real grape vines. Great selection of real ales. Highly recommended for drinking. I haven't eaten here.

I love this place. A must for real ale fans! Great beer and a good choice. It has a good atmosphere and the beer garden is lovely. The garden has hanging grape vines and a fountain, very relaxing

They don't do food but it's a pizza thing are there Thursday and Friday and you can take in pub good rang of beers.

Very pleasant staff and polite. Garden is a pleasant environment too ideal in the summer.

Most friendly pub I've been to in Southampton. No matter what day or time of day you visit you will always drum up a conversation with someone. Great variety of real ales and all the usual pub games. Large beer garden with good over head cover for the smokers amoungst us, which is also great in the summer months. Live music typically about twice a month depending

lovely boozer, caters for regulars as well as the drop ins. Worth a visit between trains if you're heading to/from Eastleigh or Portsmouth

Best burger I ever ate hands down. The beef minced in front of you from steak. Make sure to season it up and just enjoy the purity of a real pattie.

Cool decor, pool table upstairs. My only complaint is limited parking. Fantastic pizza truck outside too. Edit: Pizza Truck is now a bar five minutes away, called Paddle & Peel.
