Best Sunday roast around. And you wouldn't believe it is all vegan. Can only highly recommend. Lovely atmosphere. Great music

London needs more venues like the Sound Lounge! The grass roots vibe is undeniable, the setting is balls-to-the-wall class, the bands are always great, great fun, the food and drink are delicious, and the value is ridiculously good! Sutton is very, very lucky to have them.

A vegan coffee shop restaurant, bar and community space with lots of quirky features. The coffee is good and the breakfast deal is great!

Best vegan roast in London hands down, very excited they’re back! Juicy marbles steak fillets are incredible!! Always love coming to the sound lounge, wonderful sense of community, all vegan food (all the menu items are amazing), great selection of vegan baked goods, great atmosphere and music of course - with loads of records!

A lovely, small venue where we loved the music and the intimate atmosphere.

Such a fantastic venue to play with my band. They don't call it the sound lounge for nothing. The Sound is always crystal clear and the engineers are bang on it. Also the staff are friendly and the vibe and audience are real music fans. Gotta mention there's some good beer and food on offer. But don't forget the fantastic vinyl record shop too. Why don't we have a venue like this in South East London. Brilliant place!

Fantastic vegan Sunday roast even for carnivorous me.

Soundlounge has always been a nice place to go to if you want a very quiet experience . apart from the two in my party there were only two other customers at the time. A musical act was doing a sound check, which killed any conversation we were having. The lukewarm hit drinks arrivedarrived in a reasonably quick time. The seating is a haphazard mix and match of furniture you would find in a charity shop. The chairs and tables are spaced out in such a way that a straight trip to the disabled toilet is near on impossible. It's a good thing there are no customers to disturb . The staff are pleasant and friendly.the food is vegan and there are better vegan restaurants in the borough. The entrance is accessible. The soundlounge is closed Sunday evenings, Mondays and Tuesdays. While the soundlounge was refreshing a while ago it now feels tired.

Nice relaxing atmosphere, friendly staff.

The good: The breakfast sausage sandwich was banging and arguably better than the meat variety, which is saying something coming from an avid meat eater. The coffee was superb and well worth a revisit solely for another flat white. The bad: the staff seem like they are chosen more for their vegan/vegetarian lifestyle than their skills at service. Staff unsure about the ingredients in the food, not aware of when the breakfast menu ends. However I will note that they were all very friendly. The ugly: garlic bread was so burnt it was 50% charcoal

A really enjoyable evening out. The quiz was 1st rate, the venue packed and the atmosphere was fantastic. It's not a "pub" so to speak. You won't recognise any of the beers but there's something for everyone. The bar staff are friendly (if a little haphazard). It's reasonably priced too. I'll definitely come back.

Had another excellent evening at the sound lounge last night. Loved the on tap larger, delicious pizza and fab range of musicians on the stage. Left with some extra pizza, a signed LP and a pretty bloody zen feeling inside. Good vibes only 😍🙌🏽

Wonderful place with a cozy boho feel. Regular live music by top class musicians. Pre loved vinyls for sale. Well stocked bar. The whole place is vegan. The night we went was pizza night. Fantastic selection and even the carnivores loved it. Staff are friendly and the place is really clean. Well worth a visit but just a warning...you'll become a regular!

The Sound Lounge is a very unique place to visit and to meet family or friends. There is music all day, and you can browse through records that you can purchase. There is a menu so you can have a bite to eat and have a meal or just coffee and cake. On Saturdays, they have a selection of groups and artists that you pay at the door before you enter.

A very inclusive and ethical social gathering. The customer service is very warm and effective. The Socialites were very open and friendly to new comers. Very respectful of social ettiquette and rapport. A great atmosphere to relax, hobnob and unwind.

A nice friendly place ,very surprising nowadays. Affable staff ,nice atmosphere. A breath of fresh air for sutton, which makes me think "yer how that last. Only complaint, as with all these gimmicks the prices. They bang on about "oh were vegan ',and boy they let you know . But the prices for two pints ,£10,50 I think .and you wonder why pubs and purveyors of alcohol, are hated. Take a large wallet ,and smile .

Real jem in the community. Music is great. The open mic night is free and open to everyone. Promotes a positive music community in the area. Food is really nice especially the pizza 🍕 😋. Staff are always friendly and caring.

Vibrant, fun live music venue in the centre of Sutton. Serves great vegan food, cakes as well. Definitely worth a try, you can't fail to love it.

This place has crept very quickly into our hearts. My partner and I have only had fun time here. Great entertainment. Attracts a mature, music loving crowd that appreciates great entertainment. Vegan menu, and an intermate setting, together with its rustic and authentic decor it boasts a stage for performances and a cool record shop to purchase records. Great night out with your partner or friends over some decent wine and ales. You will not be disappointed. We never are.

Nice place , lovely vegan chocolate cake , I had the sausage and onion samwiche, bread is nice , but too many onions , only 2 small sausages , should at least be 3 , they were a bit over cooked Would be better served on an actual plate , the slate tray is annoying , Will come back , just this dish needs improving

Absolutely amazing to have a vegan restaurant in Sutton! The venue itself is really laid back, I could sit in there for hours - I love the vibe. Food is decent and had some lovely drinks there too. Went a few times to a music baby group, which my son enjoyed although it was very packed.

We came in for Sunday lunch to try the famous roast with the “juicy marbles” vegan steak, and it did not disappoint. Absolutely delicious food and great draught beer. The staff were super friendly too.

Went there on a Sunday. The whole experience was calming to the soul. The pianist added to the lovely atmosphere. I had the Portobello Mushroom and wild rocket pizza; each bite was satisfyingly delicious. Thank you.

Great live music venue. Staff are always super friendly. Food is delicious and cooked in their kitchen. There's a great range of drinks hot and cold. There is always a great welcoming vibe in the venue. There are vinyl sales at the Sound Lounge. The venue is centrally located.

First time going to The Sound Lounge in Sutton, we came in later on in the evening (around 8PM) and were looking to walk in and book tickets as there were no more tickets available online. Very friendly and welcoming staff at the door invited us (4) in and said as we missed almost 7 hours already that we were fine to watch and enjoy the last two bands. We ordered our first round of drinks and stood at the bar and enjoyed the music. We then ordered food and ate outside as there were no tables available inside to eat. A few more rounds later and food finished we came back inside, ordered another round and managed to find a table to sit and enjoy the last band. One of the bar staff (dark hair, blue eyes with a ponytail) very rudely came up to my partner and said to him “without a wrist band you all need to sit outside you can’t be here, I don’t know who told you you can be here you have to go outside”. My partner explained that we were told we can be here and that we’ve spent quite a lot of money already (£100+) on food and drinks and we’re willing to pay for the entry but were told not to worry at the door. She then said no you have to go outside. My Dad went up to the lovely lady and gentleman that allowed us in and explained to them what she had said and the gentleman explained to her that it was ok, she went up to my dad and told him he said it’s fine, my dad asked so can we stay? and she said I don’t know and walked off. It was a lovely experience up until that point and it honestly put a dampener on our night, would love to come back but the lady working there needs to sort her attitude out as there is way that you talk to people without being rude.

Another great gig at the Sound Lounge seeing McDermott & North and Holly Henderson. Love this venue. Genuinely lovely people and great atmosphere.

I arrived early for the band and I ordered a mexican tortilla type dish which was very enjoyable. It's vegan but I would never have known. The sound Lounge is a great place to enjoy great music, and tasty and healthy food in a very friendly environment. I recommend it to people and families of all ages.

Such a great space. Great service, great music, great food, all plant-based. Also has a small vinyl records shop and they also have live music on certain nights. Cozy vibes. I had the Sunday roast which was delicious + huge portion. My friends each had a huge salad of the day. Will happily return. Update 24/09/22 Still groovy here. Try the Chilli Feast pizza. It's a winner. Update 31/02/24 New Sunday roast with Redifine Meat's Juicy Marbles. Excellent as usual.

First time ever in Sutton, strolling the “strip”, this outfit, ‘The Sound Lounge’ effortlessly the stand-out enterprise A vegan restaurant, a bar, incorporating “Union Records” but primarily a live music venue: “roots music”+ its kissin’ cousins. ( Think, “The Green Note/Camden + supportive context ) Informal, relaxed with a palpable sense of dedication, grit and momentum. And authentic - and authentic we like and wouldn’t have it any other way. Unfortunately unable to attend a gig. Enthused staff, early afternoon. Albeit a short visit, the favourable impression motivated this review. I’ll be back and possibly so will you.

Absolutely a treasure of a place!... Wonderful bar staff and the food??? Absolutely delicious 😋!!!

Booked tickets ages ago for the quiz night arrived and was wayyyyy too busy! No where to sit, eventually was given a table in the middle of the walk way to the kitchen and men’s bathroom to eventually be told we would have to stand! We left! Was really looking forward to the quiz night as been a few times before but this was just so unorganised and just seemed like they were just getting as many people in the doors even though you couldn’t move!!! Won’t be in a hurry to go back. Which is a shame because used to really enjoy it.

Lovely place with lovely people and a great atmosphere. Been here for a drag and blues event. The venue offers a lot of seats and standing by the bar option. The staff are absolutely nice, welcoming and ready to serve u the best drinks. They had a pizza menu that night which I did not try myself but looked tasty. We did try the sausage rolls and croissants they had and they were quite nice and fresh. The show was exquisitely entertaining with a good sound system. They played a nice playlist afterwards that made us shake our souls while we prepared to head off. But again what made the best out of this play are the people behind the Bar !

Wonderful local cafe / restaurant / venue. It ticks all the boxes if you want amazing plant based produce. Their pizzas are incredible and by drinking their beer you are directly supporting local music venus. Finally, they currently have Jalapeño and Dill crisps!

It's 4 stars but only due to the food. As a venue we absolutely love it. We love the live music which is why we make the journey - we don't live in Sutton, we love the beer choice too, but the pizzas not so much. This week the menu was only pizzas and all but 2 had fake cheese. We had the one with feta which had turned into a runny white sauce - wierd and not nice tasting. And the mushroom pizza was wierdly sticky under the mushrooms. Miles better to roast the veggie toppings - raw courgette whilst delicious in a salad - not so much on a pizza - and leave off the 'feta'. Growing up in a veggie household I know how delicious they can be. How brilliant would an amazing veggie curry be, or a chilli? Showcase the veg and sideline the fake meat/cheese and it would be 5 stars all the way.

What an incredible place! Can’t believe we haven’t been here sooner. The food was on point. Bread with olive oil and balsamic vinegar, Bean burger and the all day breakfast with a slice of cake that hit the spot. Lots of beer and ales on draft. Our son loved his chips!! Cannot wait to come back

Love this place. Great for a coffee and the food is excellent and as a plus, it's all vegan. A super music venue too that features well known names and new discoveries.

The Sound Lounge is a fab carbon neutral certified music venue, offering drinks & meals by day, as well as promoting new artists during it's regular evening concerts. This delightful venue has an outdoor seating area with charming rustic benches & tables, in addition to a large indoor area with café, bar, plant based kitchen & stage. The venue offers much community support in terms of workshops, projects & training. Attended venue for private end of term concert; acoustic piano sounded beautiful & evidently, Sutton has some young budding talented musicians. The Sound Lounge has hosted a range of many artists, some early on their musical ladder although following early recognition, go on to become quite special, acquiring many more fans & a recognition they deserve. Visited venue recently Sat 20/01/24 for a super fab blues night. Truly enjoyed Keiran's talent & his guests; on this occasion he was accompanied by Charlotte (superb singing) & a fantastic sax player. Staff at the venue are equally lovely & am so pleased to have this on my doorstep. Well done all.

It's a community and live music centre which serves some food and a good variety of drink. If you come expecting a premium vegan or vegetarian restaurant then you are going to be disappointed, though what they serve, they serve well and in good time.

If you're looking for a cool, chilled pub vibe to relax to in Sutton, this is the place.

I paid a visit to the Sound Lounge on Saturday evening (04/11). The venue is towards the bottom of the High Street in Sutton, about a 10 minute walk from the rail station. It is a small, glass fronted music venue that doubles up as a cafe and record shop. I was there to see Peter Bruntnell, a superb folk rock singer who was performing with his band. This is a great venue. The beer / drinks are reasonably priced, and there's a good selection on tap and in bottles. I had an excellent pint of MVT Session IPA for £5.30, which makes a nice change from being charged £6 or £7 for a can of lager in other venues. The food on offer at the Sound Lounge is vegetarian, and although I didn't try it, it smelled delicious and was evidently very popular with my fellow gig goers. The venue staff are very friendly and helpful. I stood up against the bar, and a member of staff came over and asked if I'd like a stool! There is so much potential in a venue like this. The floor size and stage reminded me of the Lexington in Kings Cross, and it would be interesting to see a standing only gig there as Im sure it would make for a cracking atmosphere. On Saturday night, most of the crowd were seated, which gave the venue an intimate feel, but it was a little quiet. Nevertheless, it's good to see a decent music venue in this part of South London / Surrey as there aren't many in the area. I hope it goes from strength to strength. Finally, a few words about Peter Bruntnell. In my humble opinion, he is a very underrated singer / songwriter and guitarist who has produced a number of excellent albums. He's well known in America but goes under the radar in the UK. I'd put him in the same bracket as the legendary Richard Thompson - he is that good. Please go and check him out, and if you're in that part of South London, please pay a visit to the excellent Sound Lounge.

This is an amazing place for chill out with friends. You can find plenties of vinyl records there. You will love this place if you are a fan of vinyl. Staff members are very nice. It is just right at the middle of the high street of Sutton. You are hanging around Sutton, why not give it a chance?

Atmosphere was good lovely place. Waitress was very nice but the food was not good. We had booked for a bottomless brunch but the food that came out was not great salami on half a hot dog room with cheese and mustard was disgusting and the mac and cheese bits were rubbery and it was generally jot ip to par compared to some of the other places I have been they need to rethink the food seriously!! Drag Queens were great and fun and I can't thank the waitress enough. Unfortunately I won't be returning for a bottomless brunch.

We travelled to The Sound Lounge from Kent to see a favourite band. Fab atmosphere, fab staff and a great surprise for me was gluten free vegan pizza! Absolutely superb!

Quite nice for vegan place, woth trying.

We just happened to be there for diner around 18 but we discover the kitchen would have opened at 19. It's OK, we understood and that's their policy. The team was helpful and amazing. They gave us information and service was brilliant once the kitchen opened. The music was amazing too, even though we discovered we had to book online and we didn't, but no pressure at all on us and we enjoy beautiful music, food and experience. They would definitely see us again. Thank you team🤟

Really nice pub in the middle of High Street in Sutton. Great live music almost everyday, if you like it is the right place where to pass you evening. The service is fabulous, the ladies working here are all the the time focused to give the perfect serve all the time. The menu is a short one but is really good, pizzas and bruschetta deserve a try.

Every single time I come to sound Lounge in Sutton, I am presented with the tastiest vegan food around and such an amazing atmosphere. Truly a wonderful place to eat and my favourite place to be in Sutton.

A great venue with brilliant music, lovely food and a really cool vibe

I'll start by confessing that we did not visit The Sound Lounge for a musical performance (which is their main offering!). However, the atmosphere was very good and I can only imagine it being the perfect setting for musical evenings. It has a very independent feel (for example almost all tables are different and the chairs used are a motley mix of the used and the art deco), which gives it a distinct character. The food selection is slightly limited - with courgettes, peppers, breads making frequent appearances - but no real complaints there. Their chips were particularly noteworthy. They had written a note written on a blackboard that said good food comes to those who wait. They weren't joking.

The founder and owner also runs a Green Sutton group for environmentally minded people and organisations.

Nice venue, great place for top quality local and touring live music acts. Nice stage with good views from everywhere, coupled with nice stage, modern lighting and cutting edge sound. Eclectic seating - old school desks and tables amongst sofas and chairs. The place is vegan for food and drink, though I'm fine with that and there are great beers, spirits and wines, and the food menu caters from snacks to proper meals, all created in the kitchen. Service can be a little slow when it's busy. Stars increased to 5 (from 4) as last few visits have shown they are consistently good.

Went there Friday night. It’s a fantastic place to sit down with a group of friends to listen to budding singers . Vegan food was fresh and tasty, drinks reasonably priced. All the staff very friendly with a positive attitude. I felt that they actually enjoyed there work. Definitely recommend it and I will be going back there in a few weeks.

Delightful venue for intimate performances .A welcoming atmosphere and truly a lounge feel eclectically furnished. The Vegan menu was wonderful and the beverage selection also. To be so close to such talented musicians was a privilege and surrounded by an informed and knowledgeable audience just added to the evening. The staff were friendly, hardworking and helpful. A must for any music lover who enjoys excellent food and drink. Best to keep updated on the website.

This place is fab! Good for a coffee/breakfast or a beer in the afternoon/evening. Super friendly service and good range of vegan food options. They have a few beers on tap from local breweries which is nice. Fresh juices are made to order and very good.

This venue will make you forgot your in sutton! Super cozy with a real noric feel to it. All vegan including the mayo. Skin on chips are delicious 😋
