The food app didn’t work so we couldn’t order food. We paid to watch the election here and all it had was a tv on silent whilst there shitty DJ played (DJ was actually okay but not why we came here). They said there was specials on for American food and drink but there was nothing. False advertising

Decent venue, choice of booze not bad. Scammed by Gary Crowley though, promised a PA by an 80’s singer, but no show. Disappointing.

Went for a gig last night and had possibly the best espresso martini of my life. If you go and see a cute blond bartender working, make sure to order one!

Great music venue in the heart of London, Fitzrovia.

Really nice intimate venue in the basement for DJ events. Upstairs was a really cool modern Art Deco bar, that had a great atmosphere. Decent pint prices at £6 for London too

Tiny venue just off Oxford Street. Claims capacity of 200, but that would be REALLY packed. I was able to see Nadine Shah at a benefit gig, which was probably much better performance (or at least more intimate) than her big venue gigs. I'd go here again

Great experience here. Small venue but really nice atmosphere, friendly staff and a comfy place to sit. A friend and I saw a performance downstairs which was excellent. Not too busy and well organized. I'd highly recommend the cider they have on tap, not too dry, little sweet. Excited to go here again.

Great little spot hidden away in little Portland street. Amazing vibe, very friendly. Totally wowed to see Nola and the band perform in such an intimate space.

A bar with mediocre cocktails is not a good bar. Over spiced margarita, washed out whisky sour, no tomato juice for a Bloody Mary and no olives for a dirty martini. A bar for a beer I guess. You have to shout at the person next to you to have a conversation because the music is too loud.

The Social is a cool bar, seeming 'underground' because it opens out after walking through a long corridor. A dark, trendy vibe with cool bartenders who accommodated my high maintenance requests without complaint, although their Mai Tai was too citrussy. A Manhattan to die for ;)

hey, went to see man/woman/chainsaw they were INCREDIBLE but the bouncers…?!?! soooo rude they were swearing at people and that was not cool telling us to be quiet when they’re the loud ones?? not cool. Think he’s called Lawrence??? He pushed my friend who is A LOT smaller than him then said it was necessary when my friend was stood speaking to him calmly. Pls sort this out

In a world where the corporate has ridden roughshod over the individual and the unique, this is an outpost for all that is good about independence. Whether you are looking for a music venue, spoken word venue, club or just an excellent bar - this contains it all. Long may it last charting its own unique course.

Could be a brilliant bar, but bouncers was a complete idiot, even telling us to “f*** off” nice! Bartenders also joined in. This was due to us arguing we had a 15 minute drinking up time at close time (Scottish law to be fair but still, most good bars respect it). Weird flex by a really cool bar for people who were sat just having a good time. Be better.

Saw a gig at the social. What a brilliant bar, staff are friendly, accommodating and make an amazing margarita! Situation near Oxford Street, this place is an ideal spot for people who love music and socialising! Atmosphere is amazing, highly recommend.

It was dead, it was almost completely empty. The tickets were more expensive than clubs much better than this, and the drinks were also more expensive than others. Music choice was alright and the addition of balloons was quite cool.

My kind colleagues ordered three margaritas, understandably expecting them to be of decent taste and quality at £10 a pop, only to find they had replaces the cocktail with salt in a drink. Shocking. 1.1/10

One of the coolest bars I’ve ever been to. Open til 1am with a basement club. DJs playing non commercial music and bar tenders with personality and flair. Quirky, friendly crowd. Such a good vibe

Perfect location, safely by nabiel is taken care of.. Superb drinks by mitch and Harry just makes the whole experience worthy of coming to London x

Spent a great new years eve here. Loved the relaxed atmosphere, the music was top notch (ALFOS in particular) and all the staff were really friendly. Will be coming back again soon!

The worst dj on new year ? Plays soft house only not even aware of its 00:00 on new year .. waste of money and party

Very small, long narrow venue but with a great sound system and you can get up and close to the acts. Beer is rubbish, no food options but they were happy for us to buy a takeaway and bring it in. Order a pizza! Staff are lovely. Security are friendly. No complaints and what a joy to see Debbie perform after her being on later with Jools

Small, hidden bar serving cocktails. We were looking for a bar around Oxford street and came across this place. It had a nice vibe with a dj playing music. Great place to go that’s a bit less busy than everywhere else.

Weird place where staff spend the whole night shouting at people, while the band is playing, to be quiet.

Brilliant venue, staff very friendly, good selection of drinks (makes a change), promotor but together a cracking night.

I would give it 4 and 1/2 stars. Lovely place, very intimate. They could do a better variety of lagers though.

Boiling Hot bartenders (funny as well) great outfits and cool music taste ESPECIALLY Lily and Mitch they were the most sexy (small mention for Harry Sid and Arnie)

Attended a concert by Stephstrings here. It's a very small space. Good for an intimate concert but too small. You will most likely be standing the whole time

Nice intimate-sized music venue and bar. I liked the style of the upstairs (ground level) bar, sort of cross between American diner and 70s chic. The performance area downstairs is small (I'd guess the capacity is around 60 to 70) but that means you're really close to the performers, making it a really good vibe.

A perfect location for a presentation and a great party. Nice friendly crew they help you make everything run smooth

Another secret location in London that you don't know exists until you arrive. Drinks are a little pricey, but the atmosphere is friendly and going to see a performance is a great way to experience it.

This place is great. The layout is really unique and intimate. Came to see Josie Man and felt so connected with the performance and with the other attendees. We were down stairs where there's a bar at the back, a large and clean restroom, a handful of tables and then a large stage and standing room/dance floor. Will gladly return for more live music :)

We went to see the Gabriel's yesterday and this was our first visit to The Social. We had a friend who had an op on her back and has trouble standing for long periods and Graham was beyond amazing and got us a brilliant table and just went above beyond to make us comfortable **THANK YOU AGAIN**. The night was fantastic thanks to the table and seating. The bar upstairs is cracking with cool tunes and nice burgers/cocktails. I would 110% go back the team were really nice and the venue was perfect for live music or just a beer after work. Hope to go back very soon 👌if I could give more than 5 stars ⭐️ I would.

The Social really lives up to its name. Carnival After Party listening to Ska, Rocksteady and the golden oldies from the 60’s. Great atmosphere and nice people. The Social opened in the summer of 1999. A two floor bar right at the heart of London evolved out of the legendary Heavenly Sunday Social club nights that ran in various venues between ’94 and ’99. Rather than act as a bricks and mortar extension of those nights, the Social quickly developed a reputation as a free-thinking, boundary pushing destination for open minded drinkers, keen listeners and late night thinkers. The Social is a stone’s throw from Oxford Circus. For the last two decades, it has been one of central London’s most loved getaways – somewhere between a modern day speakeasy and a home-from-home local. Originally designed by renowned architects David Adjaye and Will Russell and now being re-imagined two decades on by the original team that built it, the two floors offer their own unique takes on the perfect night out. Upstairs is an intimate, music-led wooden room while downstairs is a newly redesigned event space that’s just as likely to host frenetic live shows as literary events or packed out DJ gigs. Over the years, The Social has played host to everyone from the Chemical Brothers to Edna O’Brien, Wolf Alice to Adele, Horace Andy, Bon Iver, Young Fathers, Caitlin Moran, Four Tet, Kae Tempest, Cold War Steve, Jack White, Black Country New Road, Black Midi, Irvine Welsh, Jeremy Deller, Flying Lotus, Fat Boy Slim, Fat White Family, Laura Marling, Beck, the Avalanches, Andrew Weatherall, Michael Kiwanuka, Kevin Rowland, Super Furry Animals, the Charlatans, Aphex Twin and Lily Allen (to name a few). A 2019 campaign to Save The Social saw huge support from the public and bands, artists, promoters and DJs and eventually led to a new partnership with Venue Group. One of the last venues left in the West End, The Social remains – two decades in – one of the very best spaces to lose a night in the U.K. 2020 saw the beginning of the coronavius pandemic and the venue shut it’s doors in March. The venue quickly turned into an online magazine / blog featuring friends, family and more writing for us as we all featuring daily afterwork drinks DJ sets through twitter and facebook.

Total y naturalmente absolutamente genial. A pesar de todos los diferentes clubes y bares que he experimentado en todo el mundo, el Social en Little Portland Street sigue siendo el mejor. Siempre fundado por discos celestiales, este lugar tan elegante nunca tiene que esforzarse demasiado para tocar las mejores melodías y cortejar a la multitud más encantadora. Ofrecen una excelente variedad ecléctica de música, desde la más nueva y desconocida hasta la más clásica y olvidada, con todo lo que se cubre en el medio. De hecho, además de música de fondo constantemente brillante, hay algunos actos en vivo fantásticos y DJ muy activos, ya que a pesar de un encantador y acogedor bar en el piso de arriba, hay un área aún más maravillosa en el sótano. Es el primer lugar al que llevo a mis amigos. Este es también el primer lugar al que saldría solo por la noche. Porque quizás, como era de esperar, el Social celestial está además bendecido con algunas almas verdaderamente encantadoras que trabajan allí, que claramente adoran ser suyos tanto como la multitud.

This is without doubt my favourite pub/bar/club in London. Brilliant vibe, real soulful lovely folks who work there that by no coincidence makes for a great crowd. Less like walking into London club, more like stepping into a cool party. Ever opened by Heavenly Records, that ethos of championing an eclectic mix of great music is ever prevalent -from both the best of new to long forgotten classics. Accordingly they often put on a great variation of club nights, performances, quality DJs and top notch live acts. This place has converted many a night into a real blinder on too many occasions to remember (been enjoying The Social for almost 20 years -and just keep on coming back).
