This is a traditional old fashioned transport caff, not cafe, a caff. It is a place for Lorry Drivers and long distance travel drivers to nip in and have a tea, coffee, and a roll during their tacho-breaks and let their eyes readjust whilst their truck sits in the layby outside. The decor and menu are based around how these caffs all used to be in the old days of the 1970s. I don't know if it is a recreation, or an actual genuine survivor, but it has it nailed. Keep your expectations in that mode, and try and park your car at the far end of the layby to leave the spaces by the door for the trucks, tankers, and occasional coach which need the extra space and run up, and you'll be fine.

Amazing location just to the side of the A75 near Castle Douglas. Perfect spot to take a breath, enjoy the view and also the good coffee and flapjack that they serve. A great little find.

Cute little place with a few tables inside and more outside with great views over Fleet Bay on the Galloway coast. Rather limited menu, mainly various hot or cold rolls which we found very good. Very adequate parking on the busy A75 road. We were quite surprised to find they even had toilets. We were very impressed with our visit and would recommend it as agreat wee rest stop if travelling this way.

Not good at all!!! Woman serving was indifferent , rude and didn’t even seem that bothered about serving with a smile or being courteous. Was explaining the menu to my french husband , he can’t eat bread as everything says on a roll. I politely asked if he could have bfast without rolls , brusque answer of yes, then asked Drink?! I didn’t get asked if I wanted anything, needless to say after this I wouldn’t give this woman any more of my money. Husbands bfast was greasy and burned, and the place isn’t exactly sparkling clean. My mum and dad who accompanied us have been going there for years, they’ve also said they won’t be back as I witnessed them getting the same treatment. Go to the Route 75 diner which I usually use , won’t be back , spend your money elsewhere folks

So friendly and welcoming. We had haggis and bacon baps which were absolutely delicious. Good value and quirky decor. Between the food and service, We will definitely be back!

we stopped here by chance as there always seemed to be cars stopping but this is actually a really sweet little tea room with a lovely sitting area out the back trees full of birdfeeders looking across the Solway firth when the tide is out you could probably walk across. we stopped for a coffee a few times but oh my gooiness its such a beautiful walk towards mossyard along the beach through the grass and your going in and out of rocks and coves with seashells everywhere and suddenly you come to a tiny church perched on rocks open to all it was beautiful a really lovely walk.

Really nice place to stop for a bite to eat and have a wander on to the shore if the tides right turn a few stones and look for crabs the children will either chase them or be chased smiling either way 👍

First impression as we walked in was the smell. dirty old cooking fat. The place was really grubby. The coffee was average. We sat outside at the rear and the place was most unwelcoming. dark and dingy, filthy tables. I had the misfortune to need the toilet and used the only one inside. It looked like it hadn't ben cleaned in months. All surfaces were thick with dust and greasy marks. There was supplies lying everywhere inside the large toilet area. During these Covid times I would have thought there would be enhanced cleaning going on but not a sign of it. We will not be back. Luckily for the owners this is not the sort of place that someone would look up a review before visiting.

Being relatively local to the area I've had occasion to stop for an egg & black pudding roll or a burger many a time. The menu is limited but well cooked and reasonably priced. The service has always been friendly and efficient. The interior is compact but adequate. There is a good space at the back of The Teapot to eat in the summer with a view of Skyreburn Bay. I have not visted since lockdown so I can't advise on Covid 19 precautions.

Absolutely disgusting place to eat . Filthy inside , sticky tables, there was cleaning materials in sight but have no idea when they were previously used . The photo is of a burger roll but looks like squeezy cheese has been used . Quite expensive . We ended up sitting outside which was equally as dirty . Would not recommend to a dog ! Burgers were thrown in the bin and we walked round the side to get out . Didn’t want to pass through the cafe area again .

Fabulous views, cosy with mugs of tea and bacon sandwich but interior is very grubby. I think they need a good spring clean

This little Café is on the A75 set in a lay-by just off a beach area with limited inside seating. It serves a mix of hot and cold meals / snacks such as breakfast, jacket potatoes, bacon rolls, hot BLT and cold sandwiches at a good value for money alongside a selection of hot and drinks served by friendly staff. There is an outside seating area behind the café which offer lovely views across the Big Water of Fleet. An option for a snack or for a bit of breakfast.

Old school 'cheap and cheerful'. Really good coffee and a great outdoor space at the back of the cafe.

Unfortunately there was only one woman working here when we visited and she was constantly rushed off of her feet so we received very poor customer service and had a very long wait for to be served. I would suggest at least two people are needed so one person is not trying to serve, cook, deliver food and clean up! The queue for food was always long and at one point we were told to sit down and she would serve us but there we were forgotten about so had to queue again. Breakfast and jacket potato was average when it came. Not worth another visit, especially for a quick lunch!

lovely views and great grub at a very good price - really enjoyed eating here and the staff were very friendly too! Be warned it is cash only but that isn't a hardship at the prices charged

Popped in for breakfast. 1 vegetarian and 1 Scottish. Plenty choices, great portions, tasty maple syrup pancakes and great service. Maybe a bit pricey at almost £20 but the food was good.

Not the best of Wetherspoons. Quite dirty inside. Tables covered in empty glasses but 5 behind the bar? Drinks ok though

Was refused service as they didn't accept my passport as valid ID. The staff said they don't take passports and they believed that that should be the way in all other pubs anyway. I have never ever encountered such a situation in the UK and they made no mention of suspected fake ID so it makes me wonder if they were discriminating against me for other reasons. Went to The Imperial pub round the corner instead, glad I did as it was a much more pleasant place anyway.
