Amazingly hot, tasty and generous EngineMans breakfast! Doorstop toast.. cooked to perfection. Lovely friendly staff, nice environment- can eat inside or out. I read a previous review where they ate cake after breakfast and I don’t know how they managed it! Lol!! We’ll be coming back for our cake! 😁

Well we decided to extend our train trip with a visit to the tearoom for afternoon tea. Booked in advance - and on arrival we were shown to our reserved table - perfectly positioned to watch the trains and the world go by. The table was clean - today - and well presented. Everything served on lovely China. The afternoon tea arrived and WOW - it is truly amazing. Lovely fresh sandwiches on lovely thick bread. Scones, butter, jam and cream. And top tier full of homemade selection of cakes. Staff were very friendly helpful and attentive. Would highly recommend the afternoon tea and we will be back as checked out the standard menu and they have a wonderful selection of food available to suit all. Well worth a visit - would highly recommend

A group of us friends had an afternoon tea here and oh my, the best ever. Lovely China, a real coal fire, quick, friendly service (they couldn’t do enough for us) and the food was exceptional. Normally at afternoon teas I come away still a bit peckish but not here. The cakes are homemade, well sized and delicious and there is plenty of everything. I had to take some home as so much of it. Me and a group of friends visited after being recommended by one of our party for afternoon tea (she had been before). We have visited several places for afternoon tea and this has been by far our best experience. Sandwiches are fresh, cakes are to die for (carrot cake is the best we’ve ever tasted) and the scones are fluffy and delicious. The tea room was busy and the girls were rushed off their feet but they were so polite and we were made to feel welcome. Very reasonably priced for what is provided. We will be back soon!

Nice staff and service but the afternoon tea only managed to meet the expectations and in no way exceeded them. Not a very comfortable place to sit for any length of time so we didn't linger. Most of the cakes were dry and had little interest but the scones were brilliant and definitely worth the trip, we'll be back for a cream tea instead. Large and nicely filled sandwiches as well as good tea helped to make the expense justifiable.

The Sidings, as the name suggests, is an integral part of the Chasewater Railway, and is located within the station building from where steam trains run every weekend in-season (March to December). The building is certainly not in need of renovation as someone has suggested, but was in fact built in this style to create an atmosphere of an old LNWR/LMS railway station. It was only built in the late 1990s/early 2000s along with most of the excellent railway buildings on the site, when some minor relocation of the railway was needed to make room for the construction of the M6 Toll motorway. The buildings certainly succeeded in achieving their purpose, and for me are now a fine example of a small 1920s to 1960s working railway station with sidings and locomotive workshops.Tea room staff are lovely and welcoming, and they produce excellent teas, coffees, home-made cakes and scones, hot and cold sandwiches, cream teas and other hot and cold meals and snacks which are prepared and produced on-site and all very competitively priced. In the winter the tea-room always has a roaring open coal fire which fits in well with the steam railway and offers a warm welcome that customers will appreciate.I heartily recommend a visit to Chasewater Railway, just off the eastbound A5 at Brownhills, for the train rides, the well-stocked model railway shop, the train museum (free-entry) and the excellent "period" tea room. The tea-room is open from early until (I think) around 4pm, so I have indicated below that it is not a place for Dinner.

Located in the centre of Chasewater park, on the Sidings of the Chasewater Heritage Steam Railway, ‘The Sidings’ cafe/tea room is an ideal spot for walkers, train enthusiasts, countryside lovers, families, visitors to the railway. There is a train shop next to the cafe selling all sorts of collectibles re train and railways. We visited mid week when the trains were not running. There was evidence of a Santa Special experience which looked fun for little ones, I visited with my elderly mother in law for a cream tea.A huge pot of tea, 2 fruit scones, butter, jam clotted cream. £4:50 person or £9:00 for 2 people. It was very nice. This building is a modern building designed to look old The theme is traditional old style railway, the feel is Retro. It was Christmas when we visited, there was a welcoming roaring coal fire, lovely decorations, pretty tree, old time carols and Christmas songs playing. The Sidings do have a varied menu and provide breakfasts sandwiches, lunches and cakes. They also do pre booked Vintage afternoon teas for around £13:95 per person. A table was set up for one and it looked lovey. We enjoyed our cream tea and will call in again in the summer.

Situated right on the side of the rail track. I feel it could do with a renovation, and update, but maybe it’s kept like it is to make it look dated. There is a little hatch to be served, with a menu attached to the side. I think menus on the tables/ laminated sheets would prove useful. Each visit to the counter was pleasant and we received a warm welcome. Sandwiches didn’t come out quickly but wasn’t too much of a wait either. As basic as they were we must say we thoroughly enjoyed them and were a decent price! Prettily displayed too. There’s nothing specifically wrong with here but I think a bit of a update would do this wonders. Will certainly return if passing by :)

What a wonderful iydillic place. I visited for the first time today (27/8/19) with my wife on the off chance when passing by walking our pooch. At 11am I asked the lady at the counter if afternoon teas needed to be pre booked, to which she said yes they do. I explained it was my Wife's birthday today, and being a typical man i'd got nothing organised. The lady got her manager, a young lady, who was very welcoming and happy to accommodate us. We booked the afternoon tea for 12.30 and said we'd appreciate anything and told her not to go to too much trouble. All I can say is we were astounded. The table was laid beautifully, and the food was so beautifully presented. We have had many afternoon teas in our time and this was by far the best we have ever had, the food was so fresh. The staff couldn't do anything more for us, we were made to feel so welcome. For a very busy little tea room (every table was full when we sat down to eat), with so few staff (two very lovely ladies and a young gent) the service couldn't have been better. We will definitely be back and we'd recommend it to anyone, such good value for money, and more to the point staff who will actually spend time making you feel welcome. 5 stars from us.
