We visited Cleethorpes between Christmas and New Year. We came across this place and loved it. Simple menu of pizza and drinks. A refreshing change from fish n chips at the seaside. We were so happy to find it open at 4pm on a Monday evening

We visited yesterday ( Sunday 1st September) for my son's birthday meal. I didn't get the name of the lady who looked after us but just wanted to thank her for her efficient and polite service. The food was really enjoyable too. Will definitely return.

We called in here for some food after a day out watching racing at nearby Cadwell Park. The place seemed pleasant and welcoming. It wasn't busy and we were given a table quickly. It's a dimly lit place with character. The menu was limited, but looked appetising. We ordered two different pizzas and some drinks. While waiting for our food we noticed a Sunday special on cocktails and so decided we'd partake after we'd eaten. The pizzas turned up and looked burnt, but I couldn't initially be sure. Giving the benefit of the doubt we started to try to eat. Despite steak knives being provided, cutting them was a task. I ended up tearing the crusts off as they were badly burnt and rock hard. In doing so my hands were covered in more charcoal than when I'm lighting a barbecue. The pizzas toppings were ok. We ate what we could as we were hungry and there was no one around for quite some time. When the waitress returned she asked if everything was ok, and I explained the issue and pointed her to the burnt pizza sections I'd removed. She was apologetic, explained they had a new chef and said she'd reflect it in the bill. After eating we decided not to stay for cocktails after the disappointing food. When we went to pay, a different waitress was there and she also acknowledged the issue and apologised once again saying they had a new chef. I pointed out that they may have a new chef, but the waitress saw it and still brought it out. The discount for this appalling food being served was a couple of pounds. Definitely not on my recommended list for other visitors.

Visited the Cleethorpes branch last night before the carnival. The staff were pleasant and the drinks, while limited due to armed forces weekend, were yummy… sadly the food really let this place down. The menu while limited, had something for all of our party, however given that it’s mostly pizza we expected fantastic pizza. While loaded with ingredients, the pizza was exceptionally greasy. Our godson (age 11) went through several napkins wiping his chin and we both left half due to being unable to eat it. Also my partner asked staff if they had a steak knife or something a little sharper to cut through pizza base/crust only to be told “that’s why we give you a pair of scissors in with the cutlery”. I’m not sure when this gimmick of scissors to cut food in a restaurant became acceptable but it needs to be removed. The fries and chicken strip accompaniments we ordered were perfectly nice and well cooked and the place was decorated rustically with nice large booths to enjoy time out with loved ones however for £100 for 3 of us we probably won’t be back any time soon.

A treat for our granddaughter for doing so well at Sports Day. She chose The Side By Side above all others, so we enjoyed cocktails, beer and mocktails together with a platter, nachos and fries. Great atmosphere and service. 👏

We had lunch here today. I had scampi and my mum had Hunters Chicken. The pub is well situated on a corner in the lovely quiet village of Blyton. They do a lunch club in the week which gives you a discount I think. The menu is large with a food choice from sandwiches and jacket potato to full mains including fajitas and curry to traditional pies and sausages. The staff were all lovely and friendly. The portion was big! They serve proper chips too, not frozen chips which was nice. I had a nice portion of scampi and the mushy peas were straight out of a chip shop. Tasty and reasonably priced. If you're after a nice quiet pub meal which is hearty and honest I'd say it's a great place to eat or celebrate. The menu also had an under 12s section for the kids. Parking is around the back and they do accommodation too.
