Ocean Fish Bar in West Lindsey

Just been today… Fish and chips are great. Always come here since we first moved to the village but the portions have become pitifully small. I won’t be going back, what’s wrong with a decent portion of chips! They’re the cheap bit!!

Great value every time. Order by phone pay when you get there, saves waiting time if busy which it gets at usual times. Great staff always polite. Free scrumps of course and good choice pies sausages etc apart from three fish choices Cheers? ( Make mine two large cod please,,)

Visited this chippy at 830 on a Monday night. Asked for chips, battered sausage and gravy. £4.80. Chips were luke warm, gravy was watery. The chips tasted like they had been sitting there since tea time as half of them were hard. For a chip shop, whose main dish is in their name, a dish that they supposed to be experts at producing, there is no excuse for old hard chips. It's just penny pinching not to throw old chips away and serve fresh chips. I will not be visiting again I am afraid.

Amazing fish and chip shop, always polite and always have my food ready as soon as i have finished ordering. Very big menu. They have never let me down and would recommend this to anyone who is looking forna quick bite to eat 👍

Always have to wait 20 minutes for my order, maybe because nothing is ever cooked and waiting, even after getting the order I have had wrong or missing food , its a shame as the food is tasty just the customer service is 2nd rate I won't be going in again as other chip shops are as good with better service

Fish overcooked so very dry, would have been useful to set timer for fish. Clean premises.

Last time we went we had a 30 minute plus wait and that was before coNvid could be used as an excuse. Seems things have not changed much.

Fish and chips freshly cooked to order

Had cod and chips and scampi twice while on holiday in the area and thoroughly enjoyed them. Generous portions served hot and good service. Would always recommend

The food was delicious the only thing that let them down was the fact that I had to wait 25 minutes despite the fact that I pre ordered online. The online order was easy and I got an email Confirmation saying it had been accepted and will be ready in 20 Mins. I arrived at the shop 20 mins later to find my order hadn’t been started. I then stood outside for 25 whilst they did my order. In future I won’t pre order as I don’t see the benefit. Great food though, just a shame the experience was let down .

Had a long wait for our order, haddock was fine but the batter was not the best. Chips fine but mushy peas were hard and only just warm.

I always use this fish and chip shop as it’s local too me. I believe they’ve been closed for a few weeks due to the current situation. I discovered they are now open and you order on line, pay on line and collect your food when ready. The food was excellent as always, but we’ll done for making the process so easy, you’ve adapted very well under these bizzare circumstances. 👏👏👏👏

After ordering two Cod and a large chips. I was very disappointed when I got home to find, the fish was defiantly not cod the chips were cold and not very tasty. We went to lodge a complaint and we were asked to come back next weekend if we would like to speak to the manager. Needless to say we will not be using this establishment again, suggest if you fancy a nice fish supper, you try elsewhere.

Had a chance to try their fish and chips with my whole family. A unanimous decision that fish tasted fresh and well prepared. Chips were plenty. Employees were very polite and helpful. We will definetly order food from them again.

NOW UNDER NEW MANAGEMENT. Quality is just as good if not better, than my previous review below. Go every Monday for Fish and Chips , Every item is cooked to perfection, if you have a particular requirement , just ask the staff and they will do their best to oblige, such as thin batter on the fish . Food is always very hot when I get home with it .

Standard chippy with all the usual things

Came across this place when visiting family (we are from bucks) we were very impressed. When comparing with "down home" oceans won hands down. Small issue with order that was very quickly rectified. Chip portions huge and very clean. Can't wait to return just for proper chips. Keep up the great work guys!

Been quicker to go home and cook them myself. ...and the gravy was microwaved...
