Had food here Wednesday, Shocking! I had the hunters chicken which looked like it had been warmed up 10 times. Chicken looked almost brown and so dry and the lady even asked me if i didn't like it, when i told her it looks discussing she just took the plate. Staff was nice just let us down massively with food as the lady could see i only had one bite out of the chicken and still didn't offer a discount or anything, so ended up paying £10+ for a plate of chips. Defiantly wouldn't recommend for food, also the packets of ketchup in the tins given out was out of date.

the staff are beyond rude the food is inedible and the drinks are so over priced it’s a joke £8 for double vodka lemonade in walsall?? i don’t think so. the staff make you feel unwelcome and are always rolling their eyes, huffing and tutting at customers. they walk away while ur halfway through ordering, they did this to my friend and when she came back to finish her order they were rude and said she didn’t order properly??any mistake on their behalf they’re always reluctant to help, i ordered two drinks which i was given with the wrong mixer when i asked for them to be remade they tried to charge me for them again!!!! this was after i spent 20 mins disputing with staff i’d spent £16 on drinks that were undrinkable. they then sent another member of staff to make them because she “couldn’t be arsed”. when the pub is nearly closing the staff will go round to customers saying “you need to hurry up and drink that” and they will shout over the bar “EVERY BODY OOUUTTTT I WANNA GO HOME” not as a joke btw. the atmosphere is never good as well and to be honest i’m surprised it’s not closed. ALSO THE STAFF SLEEP WITH THE REGULARS, ONCE THEY’RE DRUNK ENOUGH, AFTER THEIR SHIFT!!!!!

Stopped off on our way to a football match. The staff coped brilliantly with a unexpected arrival of a coach full of football fans 👏. We will be back next year

My family and I visit this pub pretty regularly. We visit for both a quick drink and food and I can honestly say we have never been disappointed. The staff are friendly and polite and the atmosphere is always very welcoming.

Great to visit 😊 old ancestry pub, the staff were very helpful explaining all the changes to the pub and told me the old brewery is now part of the car park. Sadly didn't have time to try the delicious smelling cuisine.

Wholesome enough food but a cheap and cheerful type establishment. Service was slow at times and definitely without a smile! This was Wednesday 7th June. In fairness the man serving was fine, it was the female waitress/bar person who wasn't very friendly.

I took my daughters and grandchildren to have a meal and evening out. The food is overpriced. the fish was just wet and white with no flavour and didnt even look or taste of cod. my egg covered my piece of gammon, it was so small. will not eat here again vile food..just not nice at all.

Visited with a family member before Christmas when we were back in the area. Lovely, warm service from all the staff, great food with a fantastic kids menu at really reasonable prices. Looking forward to our next visit when we're back this way 😀

First time at The Shire Oak and the last. Shocking food, soggy burger bun, overcooked burger rock hard roast potatoes and we had to wait nearly an hour in an empty pub for the pleasure. Do not get me started on the £3.45 pigs in blankets side order, 4 small burnt bits which looked like they'd been found behind the fridge. Look I'm not one for moaning normally but this is a place to definitely avoid.

Went in sat alone in beer garden while waiting for my partner, the barmaid on was exceptional, looked after me, made ne feel comfortable and welcome. Gutted didn't get her name or see her when I left.

Popped in at lunchtime as both the Stonnall pubs were closed until 3pm. So glad I did. Claire was a lovely host and all the food was home cooked from scratch! Will certainly come again.

It is really nice but we ordered at 7pm and it came at half 8 so yeah everything else was really nice

Great pub, great entertainment on weekends . The landlord, Rick is brilliant the staff very friendly and give excellent service and are always game for a laugh. Great food . Should definitely check it out.

Waited 40 mins for Sunday Roast and Childrens pasta. It was the most boring food ive ever had and tasteless. For £9.99 i expected more. And the pasta well dont bother! My lad had two mouthfulls. First and last ever visit we will be making.

Excellent food and great customer service. Really relaxed atmosphere but all safety measures in place.

Greeted by friendly staff and shown straight to our table. The food was plentiful and very tasty although a sauce was not available for my wife's meal and the replacement garlic mushroom one was not very nice. That said the landlord was very understanding and apologetic and even gave my wife a glass of wine to compensate. We intend to go back very soon.

3 Stars I would give more seriously because the owners are so friendly, but this one woman when I turned up for the England Vs Scotland game, interrogated me and belittled me because I didn't know which of my mates had booked the table. She gave such a disgust look and spoke with such attitude. Her customer service was terribly and then the new girl who's first day was that same day was the most friendly member of staff. The night was good and the new member (Lauren I believe not sure tho) served our section of the pub throughout the game and her service was 10 out of 10. Like I said would be 5 stars but a shame about the woman at the start. Not a great way to great a new customer is it really?

Nice friendly staff and delicious food, although the sharing starter only had 3 pieces of chicken on it!

The worst meal I had in years, since when do you put sliced peppers in a prawn cocktail?? The was only lettuce and peppers in the prawn cocktail, when I trained as a chef that would have gotten me in to trouble if I had served it. The bacon steak which I was told was a gammon steak, was a pork chop swimming in grease. To be honest we just eat the meal and left. But I will never go back again and would strongly recommend anyone to stay away. If I could give this a minus rating I would.

Lovely friendly staff & food was great.

Another really delicious takeaway Sunday lunch. A great variety of vegetables with tasty meat and yorkshires. All with the added benefit of not having to cook and minimal washing up.

Requested a Sunday Lunch to take away to support my local pub, didn’t know what to expect having never had a take away Sunday lunch. I was extremely happy with what I ordered and the quality of what I received. Amazing experience will definitely order another. Well done The Shire Oak pub.

Still only the same three bog standard real ales, still also never kept well, they are just about drinkable but certainly nowhere near as good as they should be. Entrance through the front of the pub. Exit through the side door into the beer garden then out that way. Fairly busy inside. Sports shown on TV. Smaller rear car park left, still an ok size, as what was the front car park has being sold to make two houses on. Toilets to rear of the pub. Food still being served, but couldn’t see any menus about to peruse.

Popped in to shelter from the rain, great food. Great beer. Friendly barmaid👍

Social distancing plenty of space, felt comfortable

Dropped in on Wednesday lunchtime on the off chance to see if any food was being served. Glad I did. Pub is clean, bright and airy. Food is your typical Pub grub and I opted for their traditional steak and ale pie. It was actually super tasty, chips excellent and a decent amount of gravy. Looked after by young lady ( Ashley ) who was friendly, polite and very helpful and attentive. I only very rarely visit the area but heartily recommend the place. Thanks Roger

Visited The Shire Oak Pub, for the first time since lockdown, and it was a little subdued like many pubs and restaurants at the moment. Would like to say it was wonderful to see Anya, Ash and the team once more, and the food served today was delicious. The staff have always worked tirelessly hard, and deserve much credit. Just passing called in for lunch garlic chicken jacket potato salad potato hot on top cold in middle microwaved salad brown, chicken ok bit small hubby had bangers mash says butchers sausage they were cheapest catering sausage disgusting would not go again the lady behind bar was lovley and polite though

Yesterday I have my cousin from Scotland come to visit us and want to take me and my daughter out for Sunday lunch so we pick this pub for lunch, when we finish and come to the payment time the pub staff refused to take Scottish note. In front of everyone they was so embarrassed and I end up have to change the money for my cousin!!! That is so wrong! We are all British!. And I talk to the manager of the pub I changed the Scottish note to ENGLISH note for my cousin and I said I will have to do a review on your page and she said it up to me not a big deal!!!

Great pub, and wonderful friendly staff. Food is good. Try the Moretti lager. It is one of the best pints of lager in the area. They have live bands on some Saturdays. This pub has a nice outside area also ...Ania your a 🌟

We popped in off the cuff the pub was very busy but we didn’t have to wait long to be served . We waited about 5 minutes then were shown to a table and looked after by Anya . All our food was piping hot and delicious we will be going again soon .

We had passed by many times without going in but decided to give it a try. Booked a table & was shown to it as soon as we arrived. Ordered food & drinks at the bar where we were advised of a 35min wait for food. Food was piping hot & extremely tasty. Service was good, staff extremely friendly, nice atmosphere. I took my mum and dad here for a Sunday lunch recently for their birthdays. I must say that the food is absolutely faultless. I often eat in a pub in Bham that is renowned for 'the best Sunday lunch in Bham' but I have to say the food at the Shire Oak is way better!! Meat n veg cooked to perfection, sticky toffee pud was absolutely delightful and the staff were super friendly and helpful. Unless we're talking Michelin star I really think this is the best Sunday grub that I have had around Bham / Midlands......good work!!! 10/10.

I came here on New Year’s Eve for my first time and it did not disappoint. The disco was great, staff very friendly and got served with minimal waiting even when busy. My step dad and 11 year old also had a great night. I will definitely be returning more regularly!

My husband and I were treated to Sunday lunch today by our son for our birthdays. This was our third visit, but the first since it has changed hands. Nevertheless the food was excellent, as before. Disappointed that choice of meat was limited but we will specify our choice next time we book to ensure our preference. Nevertheless the beef and turkey were delicious. Staff were friendly and welcoming and we would definitely recommend to friends.

First time.. Late Sunday lunch... Food was very good, beer was not great. The Wainwright's was not on, Doombar was lacking the depth of freshness. Staff were friendly but too young to be comfortable with customer interaction. On the whole not a bad place we will try it again before we give it any deserved negative feed back.

I visited last night with my Sister-In -Law who was visiting from Yorkshire. I am so glad we chose to go here. The food was amazing, I had steak cooked to perfection, my Sister-In-Law had the special which was beef stew, she said the meat was so tender and there was lots of mash and vegetables. The desserts were also lovely, chocolate fudge cake and ice cream (large portions). The young lady who served us was efficient and friendly. It happened to be quiz night so we enjoyed listening to that it was not too loud. All in all we had a very enjoyable night out and will definitely be going here again.
