Great, laid back Ropewalks pub with relaxed vibe, cosy decor and a friendly clientele and staff. The tikka masala was the best I’ve ever had.

We ordered by the QR at the table. there are no pop options on the QR menu you can choose even though they do an offer where you get a none alcoholic drink free with certain meals. My husband ordered a cheese and bacon burger it was ok. I ordered a chicken fillet burger one of these meals and couldn’t order my free drink so went without. The chicken was like rubber it was like it had been boiled and then thrown under the grill for some colour. The fries were not soft enough in the middle. The best thing about my meal was the toasted bun. The place was empty well we were there so there was no excuse for poor food.

Came for a colleague’s leaving drinks, a particular member of staff was extremely rude following an accidental glass drop. I’ve never actually heard someone talk to a customer like that - and I’ve seen some awful incidents in pubs before. Shame really - I used to like coming here, but that incident has really put me off.

The Shipping Forecast is a great little pub in the Rope Walks area of Liverpool. Nice atmosphere and good food. Good selection of drinks.

Visited for the quiz night. excellent atmosphere and staff were amazing. It was busy but staff found time to joke and chat to you as they were serving they really made you feel welcome. I would deff visit again and would highly recommend.

A lovely pub in the middle of Liverpool. There are lots of nice ale / ciders / lagers on tap and the bar staff were friendly (they also know how to pour a Guinness). We were a table of 11 and were looked after so well by the staff, particularly Bella, she was fantastic, so friendly and happy. If you are in the area pop in for some nice food, friendly faces and a mixed grill.

Didn’t think this place would have a great Guinness, but Matt was an actual superstar, unbelievable service and a shamrock in the top! Merry Christmas folks, get yourselves in here! The singer was so good aswell!

This place is a fantastic little gem in the city centre! The service from the bar staff is just incredible, amazing chat, amazing banter, and they know their stuff! They were so helpful with helping us choose a cocktail, which was delicious! If you’re looking for a spot with a warm atmosphere and a warm welcome, definitely come here

It’s brilliant. The staff have to deal with so much nonsense from people but they do It with so much class and decorum it’s admirable, especially the one they call Chelsea she is a star ⭐️, she handles the bar brilliantly. Would 110% come again.

Bouncer decided that French ID was not a proof of ID, needed an English ID or passport. Not something I ever experienced in this country and very disappointed of where it’s going.

The buffet was good and the darts games were nice; however, the only thing really disappointing was one of the staff girls. She was really rude and disrespectful. She definitely will need some customer service training as we felt really unwelcome. I regret not asking to speak with the manager.

Once a go-to spot in Liverpool’s bar scene, The Shipping Forecast has now become a shadow of its former self. Established around 2008 (correct me if I'm wrong), it was buzzing back then, but with the drinking scene in Liverpool now stepping up its game, this place hasn’t really kept up. The venue still offers that 'authentic' vibe with exposed steel and brickwork, but let’s be honest—it’s just a recycled trend that doesn’t bring anything new to the table. Venue: The place still has the industrial look that seemed trendy years ago. Exposed steel and brickwork try to sell an ‘authentic’ vibe, but it feels more like a generic checklist of what a cool bar should look like. It was once a standout, but now it’s just another spot in the mix. Atmosphere: The atmosphere has lost its edge. It used to be lively, but now it feels a bit stagnant. The crowd can still be decent, but it’s not as buzzing as it once was. The music and overall vibe just don’t hold up to some of the newer spots around Liverpool. Service: Nothing special here. The service is alright, but it doesn’t wow you. It’s the usual pub/bar experience—fine, but forgettable. Drinks: The drinks are okay, but there’s nothing that makes this place stand out anymore. It’s the same old menu, and while the beers are decent, there’s nothing innovative. It needs to step up its game to compete with the better venues that are popping up around town.
