The Ship Inn Restaurant in North Dorset

Exceptionally well cooked pub food with some great twists on pub faves. I had a delicious Devon beef tartare starter with wasabi mayo and crispy potato. Main was a succulent local lamb shank served on a bed of butternut risotto with mint oil and micro greens. My partner had a local sole with brown shrimp and chicken sauce with chili oil roasted jersey mini potatoes. All was perfectly presented and very well seasoned. Puddings also delicious. Poached figs with marscapone ice cream and a seeded brittle. Wine choices were interesting and well priced too. Hard to fault pub food as good at this and so well priced too. The staff were attentive throughout and made us feel very welcome.

Dreadful meal late wrong order, for goodness sake train your staff and inject some pride and enthusiasm. Didn’t know what the catch of the day was other than the type of fish, not the waiters fault make sure they know. Wrong order presented waited over an hour for our mains. My order was incorrect! Never again!

Stayed the night here. Absolutely gorgeous food. Chef very highly recommended. The staff were very attentive and room was adequate for what we needed for our overnight stay. Will go back for food especially.

OMG this is the best food I’ve experience since I returned to the UK in 2020. no lie! I loved the different flavours and textures. Cooked to perfection, worth every penny and the service was great to boot. We are already planning when we can return with our wider family. It was yummy!

Having stayed here before in a different room, I was allocated room 4, which unbeknown to me was above the cellars. The cellar chillers made a low humming noise, which perminated into room 4, making it impossible to sleep. Room 4 has a very marked carpet, and the small shower sealant is black with flakey paint above. I found the toilet roll holder on the floor with hardly any toilet paper left on it and no spare toilet rolls. The Ship Inn does serve very fine food, but on this occasion, my Moules Mariniere was overcooked and rubbery, with chewy parsley stalks in the mix. Nobody came to check if I was happy with everything, so on several occasions, I tried to find someone to change my dish, but without success. Following this, I left it all to return to room 4. All in all, it's a huge disappointment following my previous stays, and my observation is that the owners didn't seem to be present. I had booked for a 2 night stay, but following this sleepless experience, I cancelled my 2nd nights stay & do not expect to be charged.

We had a weekend away in the local area and visited for food. We had quite a warm welcome from a lady at the bar. The menu looked promising but didn't live up to expectations! We ordered a bread to start nibbling, but it was rock hard, to the point I thought it might break my teeth! No oil or balsamic vinegar to accompany it. The starter was overcooked and under seasoned. We had the fried chicken and bavette steak as our mains. The steak was rubbery and very dry. The fries were over cooked and tasted horrible, as did the onion rings! The chicken was wrapped in paxo stuffing and deep fried, far too much stuffing mix which left the chicken skin within soggy. The dirty mash accompanying it was in a small ramekin bowl, with far too much gravy which made it very wet and more liquid like than a mash potato,it was also difficult to eat it from such a small bowl. We wasn't impressed so skipped dessert. There was an elderly gentleman with his carer on the next table, asking the waitress questions about the menu, her knowledge wasn't that great and she also messed up their order after quite a lengthy discussion about it. They also asked for water with their food, and had to remind the waitress a further 2 times before they were served some.

Not good I'm afraid ordered Bread with oil and balsamic Scallops Bavette steak Chicken with dirty mash , pickled cucumber Bread you needed cast iron teeth to get through the crust and no oil and balsamic just butter, no side plates to place Bread on or was that what the slates were for and not place mats Scallops were OK a little over cooked but little or no seasoning for my tastes Bavette steak very dry, fries looked like the had been fried 3 times well over cooked , tomato looked like it was just warmed through not char grill or even just grilled Chicken whoever thought it was a good idea to leave the skin on the thighs then crumb them skin just steams , also the crumb appeared to be paxo sage and onion mix so was very dry and to strong in flavour and that was all you could taste , the dirty was in a ramekin drowned in gravy with crispy onions it was awkward to eat and to wet . Also listening to the waitress trying to explain what a bao bun is to another table maybe some training needed on the dishes . Sorry not good and not value for money

This was a birthday treat, doubly so because our planned short break in Jersey was cancelled du to the weather. The evening was excellent, scallops were cooked to perfection. Liver and bacon, off the specials board, was magnificent, and the apple crumble, with spices, was so like I remember baked apples when I was a child, really good. The bao bun was excellent and the roast chicken (new on the menu?) was also brilliant. Sticky toffee pudding, of course never fails. Great evening, great food.

I went to the ship in with my brother yesterday, and we both had the set Menu. I expected it to be cheap and cheerful. The first part is correct. It was cheap particularly for the quality and the flavour of the food that we were provided. in particular the rhubarb fool was fantastic. I will definitely be going again.

I had an absolutely delightful experience at The Ship Inn in Dorset. The comfortable stay was complemented by exceptional food, with the curry laksa being a standout dish that I couldn't get enough of. The selection of beers on tap was impressive and added to the overall enjoyment of the visit. The staff were friendly, attentive, and created a warm and welcoming atmosphere. The combination of cozy accommodations, delectable food, and a great drink selection made for an unforgettable stay. I can't wait to return to The Ship Inn for another memorable experience!

This place has gone from strength to strength in the last few years. New owners and a new chef has elevated it in all areas. The food is fantastic. Brilliant and exciting menus and first class cooking. The restaurant and bar are relaxed and informal but have first class service. A huge asset to the area. 10/10 to the chef behind the scenes and 10/10 to the front of house team too.

As ever a super and exceptionally tasty lunch (at the incredibly good value 2 courses for £15 offer) and excellent service from the delightful Sarah whose husband, previously at The Shard, is an astonishingly capable and inventive cook. Really astonished to read a couple of recent negative reviews as regular visitors we have never had anything but top of the range food and service.

Always a pleasure to go to the ship for our regular family meet up and never disappointed with the great hospitality that is offered. We all went for the ala carte which changes very regularly and always in season and well thought out! We normally go for the lunch set which is always an interesting quick lunch. Will be returning very soon and would highly recommend to anyone that has a great taste for food and loves true hospitality

Where do i start! The Ship is a beautifully kept building with a plethora of items on the menu for the area it is in. I'm going to keep this short because i'll walk over my own words. Firstly a massive thank you to Nick and Sarah for their hospitality, i did my research on the Ship before traveling with my partner, outside of London for a few days, and funnily enough i also had dinner at the shard when Nick was the head chef there and i can tell you his food does not disappoint nor has he lost his touch being away from the big city. He's someone who cares about nature and understands how to utilize all ingredients regardless of origin. we opted for the scallops and broccoli for starters and honestly, i need not say more than YES! The Food itself won't disappoint especially the curry laksa! I find it hard to get a good laksa in London let alone out of it! It's a versatile dish which was great considering my partner only has veggies and certain animal products, we were more than pleased with the main. I was a bit greedy and got myself the venison steak and after asking about the dish to Nick himself i can see why he got to where he has been in his career! For sides, we got a weird combo to go with our mains but we all have our preferences, Cheesy Roast Spuds which honestly were better than my mums and that's a lot to say for anyone & the Confit Fennel which i was skeptical about because im not a massive fan of fennel but if i wasn't full i would've got another Drinks-wise, we kept it simple and had a few drinks from the tap, need i mention that every so often they change out what they have on tap and from local sites, obviously you get your run-of-the-mill cans if that's what you want to keep it simple, but they have a variety that changes more than a normal pub / Inn anywhere we've been. Thank you Nick and Sarah, we definitely will be returning on our next adventure out of the City. Also, your cat "Cat" is a funny little one!

We have eaten at The Ship before, but not recently. Knowing it was under relatively new management, and given the attraction of a meal of 2 courses for the apparently bargain price of £15 we thought we would give it a try. Sorry to say we were underwhelmed and would have paid more for a better lunch. I had white bait which was really overcooked and very salty, my partner had the black pudding scotch egg ( Half a scotch egg!) which was again overcooked. On the Main my steak,egg & chips was disappointing. The Chips were Mcdonalds standard, the small steak (to be fair I wasnt expecting a large one at this price) just edible but tastless. ; my partners' small fried Trout was swimming away in oily sauce. Such a shame as the lunch test sets the standard for any evening al a carte main meal....sorry to say we wont be returning based on what we had. Im particularly suprised about the cooking as their web site bigs up the Chefs credentials having worked as head chef at the Shard, and at the Savoy and Simpsons.Was he cooking today?

Went here the other day for a meal and was welcomed with attentive service, which was consistent throughout our meal. The place was clean and the interior was a nice balance between the traditional English pub and a finer dining restaurant. The waiting time for the food was well spaced, gave the perfect amount time to talk and have a drink between courses without waiting too long. Me and my partner shared a starter of ribs which were crispy with a thick sweet chilli-like sauce, which we both enjoyed thoroughly. For a main I had a truffle and celeriac tart, beautifully plated, layers of celeriac and various purrees which balanced very well together. This meal was light, flavourful and rich aswell as a reasonable price for the quality of the meal. For desert we shared a goey chocolate fondant which worked very well with a fruity sorbet. Will be returning for another meal, would highly recommend.

Good pub with a good selection of beers and wines, with a good menu, I had French onion soup, followed by Cornish mussels and warm bread, for desert I had seasonal fruit crumble

We joined a big group of friends at The Ship in West Stour to celebrate a birthday. About 22 of us I think so a big challenge for the kitchen to service the crowd with starters, mains and desserts as well as drinks and extras. The waiting staff were friendly, professional and efficient. My meal was lovely, starting with tasty spare ribs, followed by lamb shank and sticky toffee pudding … really excellent dishes. Congratulations to Sarah and Nick … smashing it!

We bobbed in tonight,hoping to get food.Although the pub was full,the staff found us a table,short wait no problem.Food-amazing.And the staff were kind enough to sort a take-out dessert for our daughter who was at home.How cool is that eh?She sends hugs.See you all soon.

We arrived early to meet friends and had a drink in the bar, which was thriving and had a great atmosphere with locals and guests alike. The service was faultless and the menu selection impressive. We all chose different meals and none of them disappointed, they were all very tasty and well presented. The cost of the meals was very reasonable and we had a great evening. We will definitely go back to try the rest of the menu.

We had a Sunday lunch at The Ship recently and thoroughly enjoyed every mouthful of it. The meat was just right and the vegetables really tasty and well cooked. Service was very attentive and friendly. It was definitely one of the best Sunday lunches we've had and we'll definitely return.

I’ve stayed here a number of times; three times (solo and with my company)this fall alone. Gavin runs a fine operation and I’ve always enjoyed the hospitality, location, food and local ales and ciders.

We stopped off at the Ship Inn today on our way to Sherborne. My husband had the ‘three way duck’ and was incredibly impressed at the presentation and wonderful tastes that met him! I had the cheese and spring onion soufflé.... it was delicious! Beautiful country pub, perfectly kept beer, wonderful food and service. What more could you want?!

I stayed at the Ship for two nights whilst visiting my family. The pub itself is very welcoming and cosy, Gavin and Sally are wonderful hosts. My room was delightful and the bed luxuriously comfortable. Breakfast was well cooked and utterly delicious and kept me going all day. We all ate in the restaurant on Friday evening; the menu is imaginative and everything is so tempting it was difficult to choose. I was not disappointed in my choice of venison, tender and juicy and full of flavour. All the staff are lovely but special mention must go to Kevin who was quietly and unassumingly brilliant. I will definitely be back.

Booked a table in the bar for 4 adults and 2 kids. 2 x posh fish pies, 1 x venison burger, 1 x ginger ale battered cod, and 2 x kids chicken gougons. First class excellent meals from a varied well chosen menu. Lots of folk braved the atrocious weather and seemed to be well rewarded for their labours. Great staff along with thoughtful service. A wonderful ambience in the pub, generating that welcoming sound that only comes from satisfied customers. Delighted to have at last sampled the fare. Encouraged to visit again when next in England.

We sought a recommended Pub near Stourbridge where we were going to an Art exhibition at the Guggleton Gallery and, on a Saturday, The Ship Inn was recommended so we luckily booked well in advance for two tables - on for 6 and one for 3 persons. They were brilliant in every way - Service - Quality - huge Menu - sensibly priced and because ALL home freshly cooked and VERY BUSY well worth "taking ones time". We would ALL go there again - or OUT of our way to go back again !

The Ship came highly recommended to us by good friends and yesterday lunchtime we finally found time to visit and I have to say that we thoroughly enjoyed both our lunch and the ambiance. Even before we had looked at the menu I knew we were in safe hands as soon as I noticed the pristine white napkins, always a good sign of a caring establishment.

A lovely place with a very warm welcome great atmosphere and food which is very reasonably priced and good quality ingredients. No corner cutting here!

I've visited The Ship a couple of times with friends and had a great lunch there. I loved the menu, many tempting things on offer and food was delicious. What really made the difference was the warmth from all of the staff, something sadly lacking in so many places but definitely not at The Ship, whether dining or popping in for a drink (great Gin menu!) - I hope to be back very soon.

We visited as a family meal for my in-laws wedding anniversary as they really like the restaurant we did come last year but I was unfortunately too ill to enjoy my meal so thought we would try again this year!

A huge thank you to the team at the Ship,especially "Lucy" for looking after us over a fantastic dinner / supper: great food, wonderful wines - especially the desert wine- we where there for my Uncles funeral, but our stay at The Ship made it all so much more "bearable". My husband requested this pub for a birthday meal with friends, as we have never been had a poor meal there. We had a lovely evening. The food was excellent, even thought we were a big party. Service also good.

Had a lovely lunch here while visiting in the area for work. The food was delicious and reasonably quick. Everyone really enjoyed their meals. I highly recommend the club sandwich.

Hemos estado aquí lunching regularmente para el último par de años, y pensaban que era el momento de escribir una crítica. Gavin, el propietario, y su eficiente personal, son siempre muy acogedor; el ambiente en el bar, donde preferimos comer, es cálida y auténtica; y la comida es de un nivel más alto que la mayoría de los pubs de la zona. El menú es variado y creativo y se cambia según la temporada. Los postres son igual de creativa y deliciosa. No hay pub en un radio de 16 kilómetros para que coincidan con el barco.

We attended a wedding reception here. A very good buffet was prepared for us which could be eaten inside or outside in a spacious garden. The staff were very pleasant and accommodating. There is a large carpark across the road.

Fuimos recibidos por dos amables señores que estaban muy contentos y servicial! Parecían muy contentos de vernos, que nos hicieron sentir tan bienvenidos! El pub en sí era muy cálido y acogedor, con un montón de mesas! El menú estaba lleno de platos increíbles, con una gran variedad. La comida era muy buena y bien presentada. El menú de desierto también era increíble, con una gran elección! Crema brûlée tuve! Y también una nota breve para los amantes de queso, la tabla de quesos es fabuloso. Yo no vivo de este pub local, pero la próxima vez que esté cerca que sin duda volveremos!

Debe ser un espejismo. Pues no t's Inn Sjhip el. Entramos en un ambiente cómodo con sonriente que saben realmente cómo prestar un buen servicio. La comida es perfecta, con un amplio menú para todos los gustos. Lista de vinos y cervezas para igualar la perfección. Triste cuando tuvimos que irnos. Bueno mejor volver pronto.

Así que para empezar como llegamos, fue una muy cálida bienvenida el anciano caballero detrás del bar. Él era muy amable y nos mostró a nuestra mesa y tomó nuestra orden de bebidas, pocos minutos más tarde tomó nuestra orden de comida y recomendó un plato delicioso (curry de cabra).

My whole family got together at this Inn to celebrate my Wife's Birthday and the lunch we all had there was fantastic and reasonably quantity food.

Una chimenea y cálida bienvenida te saludan al entrar a este encantador pub. Se sirve cerveza de barril, que se cambian regularmente y hay una gran selección de ginebras! La comida en el restaurante es siempre deliciosa, busque "ofertas" con algún pescado deliciosos. Las habitaciones son cómodas y después de una noche de buen sueño disfrutar de un gran desayuno inglés.

El barco es ideal para pop en pub rural para una rápida preferida (junto al fuego en invierno) y un gran lugar para cenar.

Un lugar muy espléndido para alojarse y comer. En otro viaje encantado de Dorset para visitar el gran 100 años - abuela cerca, los cuatro de nosotros nos alojamos en la habitación familiar. La habitación estaba limpia y era acogedora y cálida, de abundante suministro de agua embotellada también - y hacían las camas, con cuna levantado. Los niños durmieron muy bien después de una deliciosa comida, donde los cuatro años nos acompañan en su comentario o queja sin jimjams desde la gestión o los demás huéspedes. El niño dormido así como el monitor para bebés funcionó desde el restaurante de la sala directamente encima. Ale invitado de Timothy Taylor deliciosa sidra; colección que ofrece el Magisterio; gin haría la tarde matrimonio madre orgullosa. Comida de gran calidad y una presentación elegante. A la mañana siguiente consistía en café y ilimitadas una buena colección caliente opción así como cereales y varias adiciones para untar. Buena relación calidad-precio. Popped in for lunch as we found ourselves without kids. It was lovely, food excellent staff friendly and efficient good selection of beers.

Such a varied menu for Sunday lunchtime. We choose the seafood starters followed by Sunday roast, both cooked to our liking, beautifully presented. Portion size just right. Service could not be faulted. The inn was fully booked which I guess says it all.

We had the best lunch again at this wonderful inn, the staff are brilliant always attentive. The owner has it running like clockwork, we are never let down, the food always very, very, good. I hope we can return again, soon.

Este era mi visita a la décima Ship Inn West Stour y no me ha decepcionado todavía. Siempre una cálida bienvenida por el personal y el propietario y nada es demasiado problema. La comida es deliciosa y cocinado a la perfección. No me gusta una enorme comida así que normalmente un entrante con una ensalada extra y este es amplio. Los alrededores son muy agradables y una encantadora chimenea en el invierno.

Muy feliz amable servicio rápido excepcionalmente complaciente. Comida muy buena con mucha variedad y muy sabrosas, como cocinar. Carne de cerdo patatas asadas y excepcionalmente sabroso. cordero Ambiente muy cómoda aunque no había mucho ambiente lleno de clientes o de prisa y el fuego era muy acogedor. Recomiendo este pub muy mejor en kilómetros!

Nos volvimos para el otro Domingo, porque nunca son decepcionantes. Siempre es perfecto, buena cerveza, comida excepcional y un personal maravilloso. Lo que elegir el menú, no se decepcionará. Incluso los clientes son aceptables, la charla con agradable ser lo oyó, desde gente muy normal! ! ! ! !

Nos encanta este pub tradicional y acogedor, pero no visita lo suficiente. Reservamos una mesa para cinco de nosotros el sábado pasado y no nos decepcionó. Gran selección de menú con platos para todos los gustos. Elegí el pollo y shock que con la fresca zapatero veges fue cocinado a la perfección. Comimos en el restaurante, pero para una comida informal es agradable para sentarse en el bar en frente de la chimenea. Los buenos precios de excelente comida! Altamente recomendable, con un excelente anfitrión Gavin.

Organicé un 75th almuerzo de cumpleaños para 15, inicialmente, de los Estados Unidos. Muchas gracias a Gavin y su personal por su ayuda y comprensión con los acuerdos transatlánticos. Con la excepción de 2 huéspedes (fiesta sorpresa) pedimos con anticipación para estar seguros de que nuestra selección podría ser llenado. Tuvimos la suerte de tener el uso exclusivo de un comedor, y no puedes dejar el cuidado atento que el personal tomó de nuestro grupo. Esta es la segunda fiesta familiar que tengo planeado en el barco, y de nuevo esta vez no me decepcionó - gracias

Estar con la familia en escasos y buscamos un nuevo y agradable lugar para el almuerzo. Encontramos el Barco recomendado en Tripadvisor y fue incluso mejor de lo esperado. Llamamos para ver si nos estaríamos a tiempo para final de servicio de almuerzo (que es de 2. 30 un viernes). Nos dijo que un 2. 15 llegada estaría bien. En el extremo de pedir en 2. 30 y no hubo ningún problema, el servicio fue atento, incluso al final del período de almuerzo, y comida deliciosa. El bocadillo de Filete de lomo asado muy bueno, pero de bacalao excelente y muy recomendable. La menta con trocitos de chocolate para postre tarta fue un regalo interesante y sabrosa. Agregar bien cuidado pinta de Otter Amber razonable y una factura, hace una recomendación muy fácil. No dudaría en volver a comer aquí de nuevo.

El servicio en el restaurante defrauda mal debido a la ubicación, el edificio en sí y la comida, cuando finalmente lo dan, puede ser increíble, en particular los filetes. Después de haber visitado este restaurante varias veces el servicio ha decepcionaban cada vez. Durante mi última visita se olvidaron de mi esposas de arranque. Si te sientas en el pasillo, entre el bar y el comedor principal, entonces la gente lavaba pasando todo el tiempo y si te sientas en el comedor principal, porque estás fuera de sitio pueden olvidar. Donde sentarte en este restaurante se puede hacer o arruinar su visita.

Two of us visited the Ship for a Succulent steak with pepper and brandy sauce followed by brûlée. Very nice. Lovely atmosphere and some unusual meals on menu, that all sounded tempting...

Mi hijo y su novia me trataron (y marido) a una comida de cumpleaños. Nos sentamos en la zona era como un anexo. No había gente pasando nos encargaba podía oír hablar a nosotros mismos y no oír las conversaciones de los otros diner que fue un cambio muy agradable de otros lugares. La selección de la comida era muy buena, bastante difícil decidirse así que quizás otra visita será necesario. Y la comida era muy, muy bueno. Como era un lujo no sé lo que era, pero los precios parecían muy comparable a otros lugares que he visitado. Bien vale la pena.

Lo que es un auténtico lujo para un almuerzo de cumpleaños? Ir a El Ship Inn? Por desgracia, esta vez no hemos estado antes [y] me encantó el menú ofrecido Escalopes de ternera, lo que pedimos, y quedamos sorprendidos cuando una placa con 2 vieiras * * apareció solitaria. Nos invitaron a comer de todos modos, y lo hizo - y esperamos por nuestra Escalopes de ternera en salsa de Madeira. [normalmente rival muy Escalopes encubierto] no suelen plazas gruesas de carne; y una salsa de Madeira es normalmente de color pálido, y gustos. . Así, Madeira. Cumpleaños celebró el almuerzo especial 15. En una palabra, fantástico. Gran variedad de menú elegido, de pescado, a través de vacuno fuente, mejillones, hamburguesa, sandwich club, croquet Monsieur, bistec ciabatta. Todo llegó muy rápido, caliente y abundante. No puede criticar o comida, todos lo pasamos de maravilla y recomiendo encarecidamente que visite aquí.

Stopped at this pub/ restaurant on the way down to Cornwall (25th Sept) as it looked inviting from the outside. Warmly welcomed by the landlord/ owner Gavin who talked us through the beers and gins (interesting idea to have small phials of beer on show to give an indication of colour and strength). Restaurant was unfortunately full but very happy for us to sit at the bar for food. Excellent, excellent (meant to say it twice to emphasis) pork and apple ciabatta sandwiches really good beer and a welcome - what more could you want. Obviously a pillar of the community as the previous day had organised a local pub tour for the regulars by coach (an annual affair I believe). You lucky, lucky locals, if this was closer my wife might not see so much of me!!! Well done Gavin - you run a very good establishment

Estábamos visitando la zona y reservar una mesa para comer el domingo. Siendo un grupo grande rápidamente nos llevaron a nuestra mesa. Una buena variedad de opciones en el menú, pero la mayoría de nosotros pedimos el asado. Oímos otra mesa firmes los budines Yorkshire pero por desgracia estábamos al final de nuestra comida y demasiado tarde para preguntar! La comida era deliciosa, caliente y llegó rápidamente. Yo tenía una tuerca de pacana y desierto Maple Syrup que estaba delicioso!

Visitamos El Ship Inn para comer el domingo y llegamos a una muy cálida bienvenida. La comida es deliciosa, cubre todos los gustos, y está bien presentada. Buen tamaño de la porción, pero no abrumadora o con hambre. El menú de niños es también de muy buena calidad.

Estábamos localmente y utilizamos el Ship Inn para un par de comidas y bebidas en otras ocasiones. Si pudiera dar el Ship Inn 6 estrellas, porque Gavin el propietario tiene todo derecho.

Mi padre y yo viajábamos de regreso a Sherborne de Bournemouth y terminó llegando pasado El Ship Inn. Habiendo visto el pub antes pero no haber impedido, decidimos parar y oportunidad nuestra suerte en una mesa. Siendo festivo Lunes no esperábamos conseguir sentado, pero a nuestra llegada nos dijeron que tenían un par de mesas en el bar que estuvimos más que bienvenidos a utilizar. Tuvimos una comida agradable, bien cocinada, ingredientes de alta calidad local. Bien merece una visita, lo recomiendo a todos mis amigos y sólo hemos oído cosas buenas sobre el inn.

Buena elección especulativos para parar a medio camino semana en o cerca de un 303. Aparcamiento fácil cruzando la carretera desde Inn con grandes parches de césped para spaniel de tretch sus piernas en el largo. Ya que conduciendo, sólo tenía platos principales de una amplia variedad de menús. Servicio muy amable y atento. Spaniel, como z comimos en el bar varias mesas.

Been here for meals several times now. Always high standard and different menus each time. (Two Spanish friends from Barcelona loved it when we took them a couple of months ago). Great attentive and friendly service as ever from Gavin and his staff.

Estábamos en nuestro viaje de amigos en el sur-oeste, y así nos pagó su hospitalidad, en cada caso, llevándolos a un pub o restaurante de su elección. Como resultado, tuvimos varias comidas bien pero el que teníamos aquí fue el mejor con diferencia.

Cenamos dos noches para cuatro, corriendo - el edificio es un antiguo hostal, una fantástica decoración y ambiente y excelente, amable y eficiente servicio, con Gavin corriendo el espectáculo muy bien. Ni una sola comida era decepcionante. Campos principales: pato con papas Rosti, jamón de pollo y puerro, una bandeja de comida de mar zapatero, lubina. Postres: budín de verano, whitechocolate creme brulée, tabla de quesos. Sería difícil elegir una comida por encima de cualquier otro. Todo estaba simplemente espléndido.

Tuve una experiencia muy buena y satisfactoria. Almuerzo en mi tratados con muy buen amigo, me pareció que el ambiente relajado y amable personal complementa la calidad de la tarifa. Tuve un arranque de vieira, que estaba muy bien de atún y humedo. El pato siga con hermosas patatas crujientes rosti fue una buena elección. Recomiendo encarecidamente el Pinot Grigio, Rose. Terminado con flan y café. En general, delicioso.. bien hecho.

Tuve la suerte de seguro una pinta de la compota de sidra imbuido antes vendido, estaba delicioso. Mientras estaba lleno de gente y las colas eran largas, casi no se puede culpar al lugar para ser popular. La comida era estupenda, y un bonito toque en habitual.

Me gusta este hotel, es acogedor y fiable. Celebramos un almuerzo de cumpleaños, y fue todo bastante bien. El propietario es amable, la comida es creativa y el ambiente es tranquilo y sencillo. Recomiendo el souffle de queso de cabra y las pintadas, bastante sublime. Mi amigo tenía pato, sin duda tierna y rosa - quizás un poco extraño que se sirve con ensalada, pero que sea funcionaba.. Merece la pena y hay mucho espacio de aparcamiento, los perros son bienvenidos también!

Este es un encantador pub antiguo con alojamiento ubicado en el corazón de West Country. No me he alojado allí como viven cerca, pero ha sido para una comida con 12 amigos y disfrutamos de nuestra noche.

Comfortable, staff friendly and helpful. Really enjoyed 2 night stay. Food good and bedroom clean and comfortable if small. Parking at rear of Inn good. Coggeshall a really interesting old village with many places of interest within walking distance.

Okay meal, restaurant untidy, tables not cleared. I suppose if you just want a quick meal and you are not to worried about presentation, and quality, then you might be okay. Sadly, I wouldn't return. Plus side, staff were very pleasant.

After coming back from holiday we rang on the off chance of getting a table. Not only did we get a table we experienced their great food and service. would highly recommend!

This is a gem. An amazing restaurant and pub. Spent 1 night in Dorset travelling through and this was an amazing find. Highly recommend either an overnight or just a nice meal. Great staff, great chef. A wonderful experience.

Stopped here on our return home from Devon holiday with members of family,we had three rooms between us,all with there own character,sloping floors and crooks and crannies,all very clean rooms and amazing bedding.The landlord was very friendly and helpful,and the staff all very efficient,the food is amazing,with a very wide choice on the menu,as well as blackboard specials. Situated on the A30,a must stay if passing through this area.Thanks to everybody at the Ship,keep up the good work.

Pareja y fui allí para la cena. Gran selección de platos, todos muy lejos de run-of-the-Mill pub grub! Paté de pollo sabroso aceitunas/(porción de buen tamaño) para empezar, vegetariano risotto de terneros en puré/cebolla de primavera de hígados para los platos principales. Deliciosa, ambos demolidos rápidamente. Buena selección de cervezas y, así me dijeron, ginebras.

Siete de los más exigentes amantes de U3 un domingo de Sherborne Comer Club votado El Ship Inn restaurante "sus favoritos este año. La cálida bienvenida, el atento y joven camarero, el ambiente y la excelente comida de domingo, nos dio una epifanía de los sentidos.

Gran domingo, estupenda elección de comida, personal maravilloso, una verdadera obligación en un domingo! Gavin es el mejor anfitrión, siempre encontrará un espacio si es posible. Es una camarera muy Maudie eficiente y amable, así como todo el personal. Este lugar es uno de los mejores!
