The Ship Inn in Boston

Had an amazing birthday meal with hubby. We ordered the double cheeseburger and chips. The burgers were proper butchers burgers and were cooked to perfection, not any pink meat but not dry either. They came with plentiful chunky chips also cooked beautifully. We will definitely return for another meal here. The service was friendly and no long waits. The hand pulled beer was tasty. We haven't been out for a long time so the price was a bit of a shock however I believe it's the going rate now and the food was worth the money. All in all a very enjoyable experience for us both.

Thank you very much for a lovely meal to celebrate my 40th birthday, with my family. The food was pre-ordered and service was quick. The staff was welcoming and did anything for us and nothing was too much to ask. We will definitely be back. Thank you again.

Great staff, very friendly, good selection of wines, beers and spirits and the food was delicious, freshly cooked and served piping hot....perfect!

I’ve driven pass this place for a couple years now but it’s stood out from the very first time. Today I had the privilege of going in and enjoining the best meal out whilst taking in the warmer weather. Recently renovated and extended, under new management and met the chief/owners Fiona and David adding an extra bit of sparkle to the visit. Highly recommended and will make it one of my regulars. It’s your turn to enjoy!

Lovely place, first visit, since moving to the area, designed more for eating, than just a casual drink, would recommend. Just be aware the car park isn't the biggest, it's directly on the A17, so easy to get to.

Eaten here a few times, as a couple, had friends up from Somerset and booked a table for Saturday night, polite and friendly staff including one of the owners, food was outstanding, service was the same, would highly recommend and will go back, fish and chips amazing as was the homemade lasagne and steak

We had a fantastic meal at The Ship Inn and would highly recommend it. From start to finish, everything was spot on—delicious food, great service, and a really welcoming atmosphere. We started with the duck pâté and tempura prawns. The pâté was smooth and full of flavour, served with a tasty chutney, while the prawns were crispy, light, and cooked just right. A great start to the meal! For mains, we had the beer-battered haddock and the 12oz ribeye steak. The haddock was fresh, with a crisp golden batter, and the chips were just how they should be. The steak was cooked exactly as requested—tender, full of flavour, and clearly a high-quality cut. The pub itself is spotlessly clean and nicely presented, making for a really pleasant dining experience. The service was also excellent—friendly, attentive, and efficient. All in all, a really enjoyable evening. If you’re in the area and fancy a great meal in a lovely setting, The Ship Inn is well worth a visit!

We have passed this pub so many times on visits from Norfolk into Lincolnshire and, to be honest, it has never been that appealing to us but we stopped off for lunch on Saturday following a Meerkat experience in Stickney. We were so glad we did! We received a lovely warm welcome, the staff were very attentive and nothing was too much trouble. The owner/ landlady (sorry we didn't ask your name) was thoroughly lovely and told us about the fascinating history of the pub, which has recently been refurbished. It was lovely inside, very clean and plenty of room. My husband and I both had fish and chips which was really tasty and then profitaroles for dessert 😋. We were really impressed and will definitely visit again. Moral of the story...Don't judge a pub solely on how it looks from the outside; The Ship Inn exceeded our expectations 😊 and we have no hesitation in recommending!

A warm welcome, friendly and helpful staff. Travelling from Norfolk late on a Sunday afternoon, thought we’d give the Ship Inn a try for food. Nice to find somewhere offering food later on a Sunday. Great food (fish n chips, Sunday Roast and desserts). Food was spot on. Chef came to table to say hello….. Nice feel to the pub. Will definitely use again. Thanks.

Nice ambience in the pub and got a bit noisy when all the 'Young Farmers' entered! But, the food was very good and we enjoyed our steak, very succulent... Well done and nice to see the Ship Inn open again!! 👍

Omg Cannot thank you enough We are so pleased to have discovered this little gem minutes down the road from where we live Booked as a little treat for lunch for my husbands birthday . His favourite was on the menu, ham, egg and chips and it didn’t disappoint . Lovely, thick slices of ham and two lovely orange yolk eggs sat alongside some gorgeous chips As a vegetarian/ vegan , was so impressed with the choices that were not boring and thoughtless . “Mushroom provencale” with aubergines and courgettes in such a rich , flavoursome sauce was simply divine All freshly cooked from scratch, no ready meals here !! The staff were friendly and helpful and so accommodating . We even had a “happy birthday banner and a little bottle of proscecco We will be back again Highly recommended ! Annie and Kev

We enjoyed a large family gathering for a birthday meal and everything was superb. The staff were accommodating & friendly, the food was delicious and it was great value for money. I highly recommend a visit.

We have just been to The Ship with a large group, and several of us had the roast pork which was excellent, served with fresh veg and roast potatoes. Some of the party had other dishes which were also very good. A lovely pub, very nicely renovated but still has retained the feel of the original one. The staff are very welcoming and friendly, and everything makes for a nice atmosphere.

Have to be honest, so disappointed. Had the roast pork and was probably the worst we've had. The roast potatoes were what appeared to be frozen cardboard. No yorkshire which you would assume part of a roast dinner. Veg very wartery, a small spoonful of flavourless mash. Staff although polite looked so miserable and almost robotic, such a shame but sadly will not be returning.

Oh my goodness! Easily missed as you drive along one of Lincolnshire’s long roads, the Ship at Fosdyke Bridge is simply lovely. There is no noise from the road inside, and it has a lovely, warm, friendly atmosphere. The staff are friendly and attentive and discreet. The food though is just wonderfully. A small, carefully curated menu with fresh local produce and portion sizes that are just right - although my desert was big enough for two!! Prices are exceptionally reasonable and you can see into the kitchen where your food is being prepared - it looked spotless! This is an absolutely lovely pub and clearly loved by the locals for good reason. I look forward to returning!

Had a full lunch with friends. I went with crutches and one of my friends was in a chair. The staff were great, really friendly and couldn't do more to accommodate us. They rearranged the tables to suit and we're very attentive and kind. Food was good, standard pub fare but that standard was pretty high. We had starters, mains and deserts. All lovely. On crutches, the old part of the pub as some uneven floors but nothing that caused any problems (just be aware). Wheelchairs can enter through the back entrance but a decent chair could easily navigate the main entrance. Disabled WC was well thought out, spacious and very clean. Will go again for sure.

Fantastic..walked into a spotlessly clean and beautiful dressed pub.. greeted by 3 friendly smiling ladies who showed us to our table.. returned shortly with a menu and took our drinks order..it was busy but our food still arrived promptly and was faultless.Really enjoyed it, beautiful Christmas tree and decs looked lovely and the price was reasonable too...Thanks to All the staff..🙏🌲

This was a warm and friendly place in which to take a break on our rainswept journey to Norfolk. Friendly staff and good food, plus interesting local history.

What a hidden gem! We were so pleased to stop by while travelling from Norwich. Exceptional service and atmosphere. So cozy and christmassy😍 The best chippy I had in a long time, was told fish came straight from North Sea through Grimsby. Excited for my next holiday in South Lincolnshire and will definitely stay here.

The pub and restaurant have been refurbished and extended. We had a group in the restaurant and it was excellent. Food was delicious and served steaming hot.

Popped in on the way back from car boot and thought we could have a coffee but ended up having fish and chips, chilli veg with rice , beer and a wine could not say anything against as everything was spot on, will be visiting more often in the future when they get the Sunday lunches up and running, everything was clean and inviting even the bathroom was excellent we will be recommending the ship to all on the strength of this visit.

Fantastic pub! The food is amazing, I had the best lasagne I've ever eaten. Nice selection of beers too. The staff are all lovely and welcoming. Run by Dave and Fiona who go out of their way for you. There are rooms here if you wish to stay overnight and they also let you stop overnight in the car park if you have a motorhome. 10/10!

The Ship has been refurbished and a lot of hard work has gone in. Lovely beer and lovely surroundings, we had an excellent Sunday lunch of chicken and mushroom pie and Lincolnshire sausages with dauphinoise potatoes. The staff are wonderful, very attentive and making sure that everything is enjoyable. We will be back very soon.

Pre booked a table, got there and the only menu they have is light bites, we went for actual lunch not a snack. wasn't told this when booking the table as our server said we should have been Pub has only just reopened so I imagine they plan to make a full menu hopefully. The big open plan dining area is nice but maybe needs something to break up the sound of other tables as it is very noisy

If anyone is heading to North Norfolk this is a pub that's worth a stop en route Right by the water on the main road its recently been renovated. Its super clean, warm & welcoming. Fiona was a fabulous host & nothing was too much trouble. Our scampi & chips took us back to the 80's....served in a basket old school style with tartar sauce! Both were crispy & perfectly cooked. Thanks for having us & we shall be back for sure. It's always a plus to support a family business

Called in on the way home from Weekend in Kingslynn to Derbyshire, needed cooked dinner.Unfortunatley they were only serving bar meals or chilli,The waitress could see by our faces we wanted something different and offered us nice hot meals Lincolnshire sausage mash and the most amazing cooked veg.The quality was amazing best I'd tasted in ages and all locally sourced.We had fruit crumble and ginger sponge pudding to finish, all piping hot.The staff were attentive and very friendly. Good quality food good prices .They definitely saved our day.Will definitely call again if passing this way.

I came here to meet a friend of mine as a place to eat between our 2 locations. Parking was a struggle with such a small car park on both sides of the property but we eventually found parking. We were greeted by the staff upon entry and taken to our table, the restaurant was very clean and tidy. Food once delivered to the table looked amazing, the Chicken Tikka curry was very flavoursome and the meat very tender. Our visit was very pleasing and we will return again

Great chips and service from bar staff

Stopped off for Lunch, on our way Scunthorpe. Fiona & Staff warmly welcome when you arrive, you can choose your own table and the Meal in a Basket was lovely. Would recommend to Family & Friends.

This restaurant had lovely staff, food and a nice setup. Everyone was friendly, and the staff polite. Yet i feel as if the prices where way to high fro what we where given. A handful of chips where given with the burger, but everyone else’s portion sizes where of a good size. Although our reservation was at 17:45 and we had ordered at 17:50 - 17:55 and food arrived extremely late and where served at 18:45 - 18:50 our food overall was lovely but the wait time was not worth it.

Popped in on way home, pleasantly surprised much better than previous owners / manager. Lunchtime meals mainly light bites, but more than enough for most people. Major renovation has taken place, much improved. New owner extremely pleasant as were all staff. Great service. Will see you again soon. Well behaved dogs allowed in the bar. ...... Not allowed in the large dining room. The Ship now has several on suite bed rooms to let as well, and if the same high standard as downstairs to go by then best of luck. Much better to stop and have a quick bite and chat here than the services nearby.

The Ship has recently reopened after extensive refurbishment. Limited menu at present, but we really enjoyed our lunchtime basket meals. Looking forward to returning one evening to sample the main menu. Excellent toilet facilities, including disabled. The menu options below are from previous owners, what we had not listed.

The bar lady was super sweet, gave children colouring and had a laugh with her guests, the toilets are a bit stinky but overall it was amazing!
