We stayed in our motorhome at the campsite behind. It was so bad we cut our 2 night booking to a 1 night stay. Plots were very poor, facilities worse. To be fair, they do serve a good pint of Guinness in the pub but apart from that, nothing to recommend. On the same trip we stayed at far superior sites for the same or less cost.

Called in on spec for Sunday lunch today. Staff were very friendly and welcoming. Although quiet for a Sunday service we found the food and its presentation of a very high standard. I have a wheat intolerance and this was readily accommodated. Have passed this pub many times and have never called in, pleased we did today. Would recommend you give it a try, has a very traditional feel.

Nice Family run pub with a camping site, Beer garden and outside under cover area and conservatory for dining in. Reasonably priced drinks also, great outside for a sunset view!

I feel for the lady serving behind the bar in this pub, because she seemed to be the only person running the place. Avoid at all costs. When the main conservatory restaurant is empty at 6:30pm on a bank holiday weekend, then it's a bad sign. When a pub/restaurant starts by telling you what they don't have, e.g. fish, lasagna, then it's another bad sign. Really terrible atmosphere, and clearly just a pub for locals.

Great location a very short walk from the centre of Alnwick. Room was nice with everything required for a comfortable stay. The B&B is attached to a great little pub which shows sports & serves food. Host really helped by ordering a taxi for me and then went above & beyond by offering to give me a lift to pick up my car in the morning having left it overnight at a wedding venue. Really good value too, would stay again!

Just been here for tea, absolutely shocking, menu very limited, chose homemade lasagne only because it said home made, big mistake, it was clearly made by a novice cook, no tomato, no onions and no flavour, just full fat mince a layer of pasta and cheddar cheese melted on top, vile. Husband chose chicken breast with mash, he had option of blue cheese sauce and peppercorn sauce but not being a sauce fan chose nothing, when it came it looked very dry so asked politely if he could have some gravy, we were sat in an area outside the kitchen and the door was open wide all the time we were there, we heard the waitress ask for gravy and the cook was clearly not happy with this small request. We could see everything going off in the kitchen and I must say they microwave was in full use, worst meal I’ve had in my life to be honest. Yes plates might be empty but only out of hunger, you’ll eat anything when your starving, we’d been driving round for 2 hours finding somewhere to eat and the microwave was in full use throughout the prep not only the gravy. I’ll stand my ground and say it was terrible, couldn’t wait to get out of the place .

Great pub , we went during the day and it was a little quiet and didn’t have food just drinks . Very good selection of drinks but could have done with some alcohol free beers for the driver ! Would like to visit again but in the evening . We will be back to this lovely bar

If you have been working all day long and want a meal to be delivered to your door you have no chance. As delivery driver sits in his car and rings you to come out .
