This was our first visit to this pub. Unfortunately for two reasons I would not recommend this as a family friendly place to eat. Firstly, the quality of the food was inconsistent- the lasagne was 50% cheese and a lonely piece of pasta lurking inside. We did give this feedback and we were offered a refund. The other meals were ok - basic pub grub. The second reason I wouldn’t recommend was their inflexibility and for an extremely poor decision in a specific request for our son to eat food brought from home whilst the other three of us bought food and drinks. My 10 year old son, who is autistic with a very restrictive diet, only eats food from home. We would usually mention this fact before we order but to be honest we have never, ever had a restaurant say this was a problem. As we’d ordered and paid, when we were told he couldn’t eat his sandwich it was too late to cancel, as well as us being on a tight schedule. The resulting situation was us wolfing down our food and taking turns sitting with our son, who had to have his lunch in the car in the car park. I spoke to the manager who said they had this rule as people ‘often turn up, buy a drink and then eat a packed lunch’. They couldn’t make exceptions to this. There was one other table occupied which was nowhere near us, so no one else would have seen, and three of us were eating. I explained to the manager after the meal that my son was autistic and she said this would not have changed the decision. I responded that this was discriminatory. What a shame such mindsets still exist.

Just been to the Shed for Mother’s Day with my wife and son for a special day and had a most lovely time. The Girls looked after us beautifully and made us most welcome. The food was great, the service was great and the banter really from me and the girls was amusing.Maddison looked after us primarily, but everyone was brilliant. We have been before but have found out today that the Shed may be changing hands or closing. If this happens then we will all loose a very special, friendly and lovely place to come and have a chat, drink, meal or just a laugh.I really hope that someone is found to take over and that all the people employed stay and continue to give us all such a lovely and refreshing place to chill out.Keep up the good work everyone (you are all exceptional).

We took my two sons and daughter there on Sunday for lunch,( 3rd time going that week) . What can I say? It was outstanding. The staff were lovely as they always are. Because there was a few of us, I did book in advance simply because I didn't want to cause them too much bother in having to seat a large group of us, but they will welcome walk ins and they will always find you a table. The food was amazing on Sunday and it was the first time I had taken my daughter and older son who had come with his girlfriend. They loved it as much as I did. The meal was hot, very generous portions. Like I said we have been many times and the chef ALWAYS puts together wonderful meals. Real home cooked food. They are always very accommodating and can change anything that is required on the menu. This is definately our favourite place to eat and would recommend 5 ⭐ to anyone. I LOVE The Shed.

Since 2019, I have regularly visited The Shed with my family. I have always found the staff extremely friendly and welcoming. Our favourite thing about The Shed is the wide menu selection. We find the menu has plenty of options to accommodate different allergies, which is great as many local pubs do not have such a good variety on offer. Our daughter, who is 3 years old, has allergies to milk and egg. The staff are always considerate of noting down our daughter's allergy information and ensuring her food is safe to eat. One of the reasons we visit so often is because we feel safe to bring our daughter here. We have not been so lucky in other establishments. I can highly recommend the sausage and mash, as well as the chocolate and cherry tart for pudding - my favourites!! Thank you to all of the staff for looking after us during our visits.

This used to be my local, regular sunday dog walk and lunch go to. Have been going to the Dykes End in Reach since my last visit back end of summer 22 when i just went in for a quick al fresco sandwhich and coffee post dog walk. Myself and my best buddy have dairy allergies so requested sandwiches to come without any dairy. One arrived withouy but the other was slathered in marg, quickly sent back. A member of staff (later found out it was the manager) was beyond rude and exclaimed that due to our complaint they'd "have to do a fresh one and it would come out of her wages" Hmmm... would she have enjoyed watching a guest suffer anaphylaxis whilst waiting for an ambulance perhaps? Never one to judge (everyone has bad days) decided to retry today nearly a year later. Pre-booked the dog friendly area, was not honoured. Out of respect for other diners requested to sit out the back, near the exit. Sent back the worst nut roast. It resembled month old rocky road as the nuts had turned to a hard powder substance. I politely and very apologetically sent back and asked for a few extra veggies as a substitute, both waitresess were amazing at this point, I'd hire them in a heartbeat. Went to pay, when asked all okay, just mentioned we were bit saddened by our experience today as last time was very troubling and again she handled it like a gem. The finale, and most outstanding response I've ever encountered (as a hospitality/health manager myself ) was the supervisor came to our table to tell us never to come back due to our last 2 visits "not being to our liking" My mouth dropped. I was speechless. I hear locally the manager/owner is leaving so fingers crossed someone who genuinely loves people, takes this over. There are many other dog friendly country pubs in this area, so we are only too happy to take our business there...and Epi-pens not required.

Girl taking orders on the door very polite and really lovely. Food was just average and not enough potatoes after asking for more was told no as veg was put in dishes . . Other waitresses were walking up and down by the tables whilst people eating this is a definite No no and off putting. She tried to clear out plates whilst we were eating and took the glasses before we were finished !! Felt very rushed and won’t recommend or return . Have been a few times before but this time we were put off . Roasts meat were fatty and hardly a portion just really basic food nothing great .

We had Googled this place before visiting Anglesey Abbey gardens and decided to go for lunch. When we arrived, we were surprised that it was not the usual kind of village pub, much more modern. In fact, it is a very large 'village hall' converted to a pub/restaurant. Staff were very friendly and the food excellent (as well as being reasonably priced). We will return. Only downside is that parking is only on the road which was not so much of a problem for us on a weekday but could be at the weekends.

Wanted this to be good, but it wasn’t. The staff were the only good thing, very friendly wait and bar staff with quick service. But the venue, atmos and food were distinctly average. The layout and decor is weird, it’s not at all cosy yet it has booths, steam punk lights but kitsch window blinds and a horrid old peoples home carpet! Food was bland and under seasoned, perfect for the clearly elderly clientele. No childrens area or things for them to do so not welcoming for young families. Clearly a local hangout for all the village ‘cousins’

Would have been massively disappointed if I'd been paying full price. Advise...... If you're making offers eg BOGOF. Then in your best interest for repeat custom, I recommend it would be better not to make offers that disappoint. Lovely venue. But unfortunately I've now been put off a return visit. I had cycled past this place a couple of times and thought it looked nice and really wanted to try it. We really wanting to like it as a new local option. However, We went for Sunday lunch today to try it for the first time. I checked the Sunday menu on the website, but when we arrived the menu was different with fewer options and priced per item rather than a Sunday set price menu. There were no main course fish options and so I asked and were offered scampi and chips which my wife chose. I went for the roast beef with the trimmings.Well, the scampi looked like it was off the children's menu (but larger portion) and straight out of the freezer. The quality of the beef itself was good, but over cooked and therefore rather tough. The veg looked nice, but the cauliflower was so overcooked it had no flavour and was the consistency of mashed potato. Carrots overcooked but the curly kale was actually ok!The horseradish was just Heinz sachets on the table and didn't really taste of anything much and certainly not horseradish. At £14.99 for the beef and £10.99 for the scampi it was very disappointing. We decided to skip the dessert and coffee, as we didn't trust the quality at this stage and felt we could do better at home.Shan't be going back.

The main meal arrived quickly and was OK, apart from the fact we were overcharged for it (2 menu items at £10.99 appeared on the bill as £23.98 !!) Didn't want to cause a scene by complaining, but it added to the unpleasantness of the experience. Glad to get out of the place and will not be returning.

We have been into the Shed on a number of occasions, for a drink and to eat.It is a an interesting location, more like a social club than pub, but well done, and comfortable. Drinks wise have a good range of ales, lagers, ciders and gins. However, food is hit and miss, have had a great meal, but also some which were slightly wide of the mark. I suspect they have had a turnover of chefs, as they do seem to struggle for consistency. However, would be prepared to give it another go

So we thought we’d go to the Shed after work as it’s convenient and we was hungry, we’d herd such lovely things about the food and the chef. The place itself was nice but my food wasn’t so great, my chicken was singed, the skin was literally crumbling into powder and it was way to hard to cut let alone chew. The thing which annoyed me is they came to ask if everything was ok just before I’d even had the chance to cut it, I was starving after a long stressful day at work and could not be bothered so i ate the chips and left the chicken. It didn’t satisfy me in any way, if anything I ended up with indigestion. It’s put me off trying anything else due to the fact the menu is limited and most things include the same things. My mums scampi was ok and a safe option but to me I didn’t think it looked so great. I am highly disappointed as I did mention it to the waitress and she all she said she do was mention it to the chef, I literally paid £12 something for a few chips and couple of bites of chicken.

Called in for lunch as we were near and will most definitely be calling again! Lovely waitress who was very helpful and fun at the same time. The meals were really tasty and well presented - nothing was too much trouble. Very highly recommended

We made a visit one lunch time very nice and polite waitress , the pub restaurant is a lot bigger than the outside suggest . I had salt and pepper chicken a little disappointed pre cooked chicken which was a little dry served with cooked frozen chips which I don’t like at all ( can not beet proper cooked chips . The wife had pulled pork burger and chips which she enjoyed.

We came on a Sunday afternoon as a family of 10 with 4 kids. Unfortunately, the first thing that we were made aware of was that there was no children's menu. No options of alternatives for the children either. So essentially, the kids had bread. This was not made clear over the phone either as i did mention that we needed high chairs. The meal took a long time to come considering it was a roast. I would expect it all to be cooked and ready. The gravy was super salty and the beef wasn't great. Essentially, it felt like a meal that had been sitting on a hot plate. But it took a long time to come out. They did apologise for the wait but i would have expected a warning beforehand. We had a good goats cheese starter, however. We enjoyed the space as it allowed the kids to play inThe pool table was also a good additionThis place is also close Anglesey Abbey which makes it a convenient place to eat.

Pros:Accepted a large booking (10 inc 2 high chairs)Large and spaciousComfortable seatingGood toiletsClean and modernEasy to parkA minutes drive from Angelsey AbbeyPool tableCons:No child menu on a SundayNo child friendly activities (eg crayons)Unacceptably slow servicePoor table serviceDesserts still frozenGravy far too saltyExpensive (£25 for a three course meal that was disappointing and took 2 hours)No condiments offered (eg mustard)Difficult to place drinks orders during mealConclusion:Honestly think this place is missing a trick as it is so ideally suited for families visiting Anglesey Abbey who fancy a proper pub treat afterwards. I’d be willing to give it another try in a year or so. All of the cons could be so easily fixed with a few tweaks. Just sad that it was poor on my Mum’s birthday meal.

I booked lunch here for 5 (including my disabled mum). We had great service, they were great with my Mum as her electric wheelchair decided to stop working on the way in! Food was good pub grub, I enjoyed the gammon steak with chunky chips. Thought the trout was a little meagre but everyone enjoyed their meal. Great to head onto Anglesey Abby afterwards too. Would happily go back!

The first visits were fine and we actually complimented the chef.the last visit was not good but we gave the benefit of doubt.this visit was the worst one we have had for food quality.the turkey escollops were over cooked and very dry.they had been cooked early on and reheated in microwave.the crumble was a soggy mess and again reheated in microwave.to top it all they had no custard.this was a repeat of the last time we came when there was no custard.it seems it was because the chef had broken his leg.!!!!.it took over 2 hours to have lunch.i guess it's time to find somewhere else.ps.if you want a lunchtime disco perhaps this would suit you. What a shame.

We had a friendly greeting on arrival and able to choose our own table. The Shed was busy but not packed. Plenty of room between tables, good to have conversations without shouting over other people's chatter. Two of us ordered burgers, which had a good smoky chargrill flavour. Sea bass was good. The game casserole was tasty, but some of the meat was a wee bit dry. No need to order extra sides (though these are also available) as plenty of veg and/or salad provided. We had the fruit fool for pudding, which was very yummy. Reasonable prices and relaxed service. As other people have said it is a very large venue. Splendid for a party or work event.

Although the food was fine, this is not a place I'd rush back to. It feels like a shed with poor ambience - it feels like a shed!

nice food, quick service, a gateway to Anglesey Abbey. Easy parking always. Interesting shop next door selling local produce and wide range of plants. Worth joining the national trust to visit here a couple of times each year.!

Weird layout with so much empty space. Looks like a working men's club crossed with a wetherspoons. We went with our 8 month old son after a local visit and were shown in pleasantly and our orders with taken with a bit of Smalltalk. After our orders drinks came over we waited a whole hour before our main course came over and they were bland and overpriced. We weren't even offered an apology for the wait, despite pointing out that we had a fidgety little baby with us that had started to get grouchy. Not recommended. Service not quite up to scratch. food way off!

The Shed can't make up it's mind if it is a pub with food, or a restaurant, with a good sized bar(with stools) and about 8 beers on draught. Either way the food and service is good and the prices reasonable. Well worth a visit.

Saw the roadside sign so tried it and as it happened to be a Wednesday we caught the pensioner's Lunch deal! It was so good we made room for a dessert.Service was a tad slow as it seemed to be a popular promotion and the staff were kept very busy. The Main menu exuded quality so hope to go back especially on our next visit to Anglesey Abbey which is very close by.

I had booked a month in advance for an after winter lights supper, there were only four of us so it shouldn't have been as painful as it turned out to be. We arrived about 15 mins early and they were not overly busy so we waited for the final member of our party and ordered drinks. we looked over the menu and made a decision. but we waited for more than half an hour before anyone came near us and then only he took the starters (he was new apparently )then it was almost an hour before these hit the table!! only to be told sorry we are really busy!! errrm i dont think so , would hate to see it when it was packed out. all the starters were salad based, nothing to cook!!eventually we got our mains after having to order again but by then it was almost 10pm!!! so all in all not a great experience. would i go back yes... because the food is actually really nice!

We pop in here on a regular basis after walking our dog on the Fen or at Anglesey for a drink and bite to eat. It’s been consistently good food from sandwiches to main meals, staff are always friendly and efficient and Doris the lurcher has been made welcome from day one. It’s always worth the drive over and can recommend it.

Impressed with location and ambience of the Restaurant, but they were short staffed one waitress to serve all the customers plus a Chef went off sick, We placed our order , 90 minutes later nothing had emerged from the kitchen, requested info told our order had not gone through to the Kitchen, so we had to start again, 20 minutes later the Soup arrived ( Soup was good) 35 minutes later the main course appeared ( Unfortunately not good quality) we were given an apology and offered free coffees, would I visit again maybe??

Went here before a visit to Anglesey abbey. We were quickly shown to a table, drinks arrived quickly and food shortly after ordering. The meal was excellent, well cooked and a good sized portion. The chips were excellent. Very reasonably priced too.

We eat at The Shed 2-3 times a week, my other half pops in most days, we love the fabulous Sunday roast the most, the lovely atmosphere, friendly staff and comfy surroundings. The Shed also has various evenings of entertainment, Quizzes, Open Mic Nights, Karaoke, Bands, Singers. Wednesdays, they have a pensioner day, which is becoming very popular. The Shed has only been open just over a year and already has a steady following of customers. We are a pair of those followers. We are looking forward to Christmas and New Year at The Shed! Always a warm welcome.

Don't go to this restaurant if you are black. I had a bad experience there. I went in for a drink and meal, waited at the bar, but wasn't served when it was my turn. When I pointed this out, the barmaid told me, in an abrupt way, that she hadn't seen me. When I asked whether this was because I am black, it led to an argument. Another customer got involved, and gave me racial abuse.

Another Sunday lunch and it didn't fail to be a great experience - all round. First time we had a vegetarian in our party for Sunday lunch and he was delighted with his option. The welcome accompaniment of vegetarian gravy for him won points too. It is great to see this place so busy. We first came here not long after it opened. Momentum gathering and reputation building. Makes us wish we lived in Lode.

2nd visit to the shed. As with the first visit the shed is clean and fresh looking as you walk in. It's nice and spacious yet the boothed tables give you a feeling of privacy. Great friendly , welcoming atmosphere. Staff pleasant, polite and friendly. It's only a small menu choice but the 2 meals I've had there have been generous portions, very tasty and nicely presented . Food is fresh and hot. price wise very reasonable....... 3 course meal with 2 drinks have cost me approx £30. Would highly recommend........ It's a little gem just waiting to be discovered.

Situated close to National Trust's Anglesey Abbey, some miles north of Cambridge boundary, this place does quite decent food in a small village and an "industrial" feeling building. It's on large scale, with an added mezzanine floor, and a long bar and it's open midday to midnight ( food served fewer hours ). The menu is pretty good and the standard is good, honest food.bService was good and there is lots of space between tables, leaving a peaceful, if a little empty, atmosphere.

We were excited to go to the new place, when we got there we were underwhelmed, there was no atmosphere, the waitress didn't know the answers to any of the questions we asked about the menu. When we got our food it was OK but really nothing special, very over priced for what it was.
