The security guard was rude and aggressive. He was not willing to listen to common sense regarding asking for ID from a 30 yo man. Had to call the bar manager out. The security guard was the rudes and most overzealous security guard I've come across. I understand that the security is not directly employed by Weatherspoons, but I reckon that this particular security guard can do with some communication and customer service training.

Popped in for some food after dinner with my boyfriend and my train was cancelled so I was chilling on my own- overheard the loveliest exchange between an employee called Jordan and an older couple. Not sure what had happened but the couple had politely complained about something and then Jordan was so helpful in trying to make things up to them by offering a free drink or dessert. The couple were really lovely and said they didn't want anything in return but it was just so lovely to see such great customer service! Coming from an ex hospitality worker, well done to him!

Pub that is quite centrally located in Manchester. I like that you order food/drink and pay immediately. They then deliver what you have ordered directly to your table. They have a wide variety of pizzas, burgers and "pub food" at reasonable prices. Also a large selection of different beers. As a vegan, I appreciate that there are several dishes to choose from. The downside is that it was a bit loud (may be because we were there on the weekend) and that the toilets are one floor up for those who have difficulty walking. The overall feeling is that this is a nice place that is worth visiting.

Dear Weatherspoons customer service team and the public reading reviews, I am writing to express my deep dissatisfaction with the treatment my friends and I received from a manager at one of your establishments. This incident occurred on Friday, the 21st of June between 5pm and 630pm at The Seven Stars in Manchester. This was one of our first times visiting this particular Weatherspoons, and we had asked upon arrival if we could charge my friend's wheelchair. We were told yes, which was a significant accommodation for us. However, later on, the manager rudely interrupted us, insisting it was against policy to charge a wheelchair onsite. Despite our attempts to explain the situation and our previous experiences, he wouldn't acknowledge my friend (let alone actually look at her or even direct conversation to her at all, imagine how that must feel on top of all this?!), whose wheelchair it was, and proceeded to unplug the charger without any consideration or warning. Before this, we had already been asked to move the wheelchair multiple times due to it allegedly being in the way. We understood that it could have been an issue, so we asked to fully move it out of the way by the coffee machine (which had one coffee machine turned off, so it was completely out the way of anyone now) so we could stop being interrupted and had our friend swap to a normal chair. We tried to be as respectful as possible, unlike the ableist manager. We have visited other Weatherspoons locations and have never encountered an issue with charging a wheelchair. The dismissive and disrespectful attitude of this manager was not only disheartening and ableist but also alarming. We needed to check the charge level of the wheelchair, but he unplugged it before we had the chance. Accurately checking the battery requires a 20-minute charging period, and without it, we were left unsure if my friend could make it home after the concert we were attending. This caused considerable anxiety for her, affecting our plans, her well-being and putting a major downer on the whole day which had been planned for a while and cost a considerable amount for us to all get to Manchester from our homes across the country. The manager in question was easily identifiable: he had a tight black short sleeve shirt, left arm tattoo sleeve, slim build, wore very tight jeans and spiked hair. His behavior exemplifies a troubling disregard for customer service and basic decency. Fortunately, one team leader was incredibly accommodating and tried their best to help the situation. Their efforts, however, were overshadowed by the manager's rudeness and lack of empathy. Honestly the female team leader who then proceeded to assist and reassure us was amazing but unfortunately she had been told that we could not plug it back in due to company policy? Did it change in the space of an hour then? We would like to see a copy of this policy as we could not find this online or anywhere else for that matter as we will be looking into taking further action. We hope that Weatherspoons will address this issue seriously. Disabled customers should not be treated with such disrespect, and your policies should be communicated clearly and compassionately. We request that you review the conduct of your staff at this location and ensure that all employees are trained to handle similar situations with the sensitivity and respect they deserve. Thank you for your attention to this matter. We look forward to your prompt response and appropriate action against the sickening discrimination your staff member displayed towards us. Would also like to add, he was also wearing the audio and image recording device around his neck so as long as he's following your policies when interacting with customers it will all be recorded for evidence. Sincerely, 3 concerned customers.

I was out with a friend at the Seven Stars Spoons, and our night was ruined by the unreasonable bouncer. My friend had a skateboard, but the bouncer refused to let him in. We've been to many pubs, including various Weatherspoons chains, without issues before. The bouncer, a bald, round man with glasses, was dismissive and condescending. He offered no clear explanation for the policy, refused to let us speak to anyone else, and wouldn't even consider letting us leave the skateboard with a staff member inside. The entire situation felt like a power trip. Such poor customer service and lack of common sense left a bad taste. I hope this particular Weatherspoons reconsiders how they handle these situations in the future.

I had an incredibly disappointing experience at 'The Seven Stars - JD Weatherspoon' recently due to the unprofessional and condescending behavior of the bouncer. I arrived with my skateboard, intending to meet up with some friends for a quick drink. Obviously, I had no intention of riding it inside the pub. However, the bouncer refused to let me in, citing some unclear and seemingly arbitrary policy. When I asked if he could monitor my skateboard, given that he was stationed at the entrance all night, he flatly refused and claimed he couldn't be responsible for it. I’ve never encountered this issue at any other pub, including numerous Weatherspoons, where bringing in a skateboard has never been a problem. I sought clarification on this so-called policy but received none. The bouncer, a round, bald man with glasses, couldn’t provide any rationale and didn’t allow me to speak to anyone else about it I tried asking for a name but to no avail. I even suggested leaving the skateboard with a member of staff inside, but he dismissed this idea without consideration. His entire approach was condescending and seemed like a power trip. Rather than being helpful or understanding, he was rude and dismissive. This experience left a sour taste, and it’s unfortunate that such a minor issue was handled so poorly. I hope 'The Seven Stars' addresses this and ensures their staff treat customers with respect and common sense in the future.

We arrived early on a Thursday evening and there was nobody behind the bar to serve. This made it all good as there was several people waiting and eventually Somebody came over when they had finished putting lemons in a container! They then got our drinks wrong, brought two when we only ordered one of a specific beer. The place doesn't have a great layout either in our opinion so we won't be going back to this one.

Went to The Seven Stars for an early morning feed before a day of exploring Manchester. It’s a Wetherspoons pub and so we were well used to drill upon arrival. Scan the pub for the coffee machines, check where the loos are, grab a table, settle in, etc. All that done, we ordered our breakfasts and enjoyed a brew while we waited. The staff were friendly enough and certainly made us feel welcome despite the early hour. 8:00 seems like a frankly ridiculous time to be manning a bar in a city centre pub, but there you go. The grub duly arrived, we grabbed a copious amount of HP sauce and set about dissecting the traditional breakfasts waving at us from the table. Toasted toast, always a good start, but never with quite enough butter, however. The bacon was nicely cooked, hot and on the knife edge of being crispy, but not quite there. A sausage sat on the plate blocking the baked beans from ambling across and annoying the hash browns sat directly opposite. It was browned nicely, like a flood barrier that had seen too much sun. The beans themselves were once hot, but the reaction upon hitting a stone-cold plate had taken the edge off the heat. The poached eggs were very, very nearly cooked to perfection though a fine layer of snotty albumen took the gloss off the eggy joy. After drowning the brekkies in the HP sauce, they went down a treat. No complaints, aside from the tongue burns after biting into a hash brown that was hotter than a blast furnace. The food was tasty and the pub very good indeed.

Called in for something to eat before travelling. Bar was busy with a good atmosphere. Staff were working hard and were all very helpful, cheerful and friendly. As it was after 3pm we were told the only thing on the menu was pizza which was fine. However, although I appreciate that a margherita pizza is simple, this has to be the saddest pizza I have ever been served, no garnish, and very little ingredients and no thought to add to the taste or presentation. At £15 this was not good enough for the Radisson and I was embarrassed to see several tourists presented with the same uninspiring dish.

So poor, overpriced. Really rude staff, young brunette was rude to us. £15 for a chicken sandwich too that was incredibly greasy. Avoid.
