The Secret Frog Coffee Co in City of London, Westminster

Covered three shifts in October and I'm still waiting to be paid! Really great business but if you don't pay your staff then you don't have a business. Absolutely unacceptable, if this is how they treat staff who cover occasional shifts then I can't imagine how they treat their actual staff.

It's hard to describe how much I love this place. As someone who travels to London once a month, for a few days at a time, on business, but doesn't really enjoy the hustle and bustle of London city life, this is the perfect escape. My "go to" for every London trip. First, there's the food. The English breakfasts are fantastic - as good as you'll find at much more expensive establishments. The same can be said for the toasted sandwiches and the great variety of drinking options - I'm not a coffee drinker so I normally opt for a berry smoothie or a hot white chocolate. The staff are even willing to get inventive and will work with you if you have an off-menu request. The staff themselves are a huge highlight too. So friendly and genuinely kind - it's clear they have numerous regular visitors who they seem to give the personal touch too, chatting about their days and lives. The manager in particular is exceptional. With none of the pretentiousness of many London cafes, this an opportunity to relax in comfort and genuinely feel like you're at home. Five stars doesn't do it justice.

Aunque he sido cliente habitual desde que Barbara y Peter abrieron The Secret Frog, para mi vergüenza, esta es mi primera crítica. Estuve sentado aquí esta mañana disfrutando de otro sabroso desayuno preparado con amor por el personal amable y feliz escuchando la relajante lista de reproducción mientras borraba aún más correos electrónicos antes de regresar a la oficina. Ya sea desayuno, almuerzo, un café Monmouth o cualquiera de la otra variedad de sabrosos aperitivos, es el mejor lugar para estar en Aldgate. ¡Gracias a todo el equipo por crear silenciosamente un refugio para mí y para todos los demás Froggers felices!

Ewa and her team always provide the nicest, quick and lovely service! Amazing, freshly made sandwiches and quiches, and nicest coffee that’s always of high quality! The team is lively, playing good background music, with great knowledge of coffee, always full of recommendations!

The staff here are very helpful and really nice. And it's nice to go n somewhere a bit quirky rather than a chain or standard hipster wood and scafolding poles. Coffee is very good - they use Monmouth coffee Food is very good - the club sandwiches are amazing. Though beware, they're addictive! And the cakes are really good (coconut slices are yum). Essentially, go there. Oh, and I always like the music they have on

I’ve got my morning coffee from this place everyday for the past 3 years (essentially since it opened). The coffee is great and the food, particularly the salads, are excellent. The speed at which the staff (Sam) serve the coffee in the mornings when it’s busy should get special mention.

I have had many a flat white in my time and think that this might have been one of the best flat whites I've had in London. Big tick of approval! Coffee shop space is shared with a running shop which is an interesting business proposition. Free wi-fi is a nice touch.

Great place, with delicious coffee. Shame about the toast, was only one piece buttered with way too much marmite and the second piece completely dry! I think they were hoping to save time by putting together and hopefully transferring from one piece to the other, it failed unfortunately..

Quirky place to go but they did a great bacon and scrambled egg and brown bread. Quiet with only a few tables and not too busy.

Nice really cool place. Furniture and lights really cool. Food is simple but sandwiches are good, also served with a salad. Worth going!

Sweet little French cafe. Tucked in the basement with a running shop. Excellent spot for a quiet meet up anc chat over tea.

This place is my workweek "local". Staff are friendly, coffee is excellent, food is tasty and the cakes are home made. The quirky frog theme is subtly present in the decoration. Sharing the space with a specialist running shop. Odd but works!
