Great coffee with mind bendingly slow service

Good coffee but would love to have a choice. Ethiopian, Rwandan for example. Maybe a toastie or soup would be great in the winter! More music too. Thank you

Lovely cup of tea but the cake wasn't as good as some of the Liverpool places.. Room for improvement...

Been there on numerous occasions due to friendly, helpful staff, nothing too much trouble! Also coffee always excellent and gluten free cakes delicious…..especially the Bakewell….it sells out fast!

We found this little place a few months ago. Now it's out go to one or twice a week. The staff are super friendly and welcoming. The cake is absolutely delicious. Vegan cake a plenty. All made fresh on site. We love a oat hot chocolate in a handle'less mug. There's some about nursing a warm drink in them. Outside seating, the garden is really cute. We enjoy perching on the pew in the sunshine with an ice coffee. The atmosphere here is lovely and chill. I totally love the vibe.

Just wanted a coffee before getting on the train. Lovely friendly atmosphere, very pleasant welcoming staff, and to add to that, exceptionally good coffee! Couldn't ask for more. I don't eat cake, but have to say that their cakes did look very tempting. Definitely will call again. Thank you.

Fabulous cafe right opposite the railway station . Winter Latte and Ginger & Orange cake on a windy day in January certainly warmed me up . Very welcoming and friendly service . 😊

Absolutely tip top americano coffee and full flavour home made coffee and walnut cake. Just called in by chance on my first ever trip through NB station and was bowled over - lovely atmosphere and really friendly staff. As I said "I'll be back!"

Discovered The Sea Shanty last year after missing my train (following a recommendation from the staff at New B train station) and I’ve popped by of a weekend ever since, their Wed, Thurs and Fri opening hours clash with my work schedule, unfortunately :( but could be a decent spec for hybrid workers. The coffee is exceptional and the cakes are to die for. Funky beats and a decent/homely garden to enjoy an iced coffee in the sun in this weather 👍🏼

We visit this place most weekends, for a drink and last week we had lunch there I have to say the service was fabulous, it was quite busy and are food arrived within 10mins of ordering, and it was delicious. The serving staff where very polite and friendly and very keen to make sure you had a good experience. The one thing that let this place down is some of the bar staff need more training on pulling pints, in particular using the correct glass for the beer and being able to notice when a pint isn't right. On more than 3 occasion when visiting I had to point out that the beer was flat and in the wrong glass to which the reply was a glass is a glass.from one of the girls who served me. On the whole its a fabulous place and I will continue to frequent it on my visits to Trearddur

New to the area, and taken here by a friend who recommended The Sea Shanty. It was lovely, we had cappuccinos in the garden and I really enjoyed the decor. I will try to come here as much as I can!

1st time to go this coffee house! Relax environment with live band music. Staff here are so nice with smiling face. We got two cups of Cappuccino and a chocolate banana cake. Delicious 👍👍！ What a fabulous Friday here with quality food and relax music. Definitely to go again ! Highly recommend to all coffee lover.☕️

Lovely coffeeshop near the sea. Great vibe there, the staff are super friendly - food and drink came quickly. Quite quirky shop, really homely. Drinks were made brilliantly, late art on point. Home made cakes! Basically 10/10 brill.

Great coffee and great range of gluten free cakes!

Me and my friend often come in for the amazing iced lattes, they serve it with the best tasting coffee and my favourite oat milk. The girls in there are so friendly, I actually got speaking to one of the staff members called Jasmine, and honestly I could have stayed there all day chatting away. Such a lovely environment, great staff and beautiful coffee with a great selection of alternative milk. Love this place and everything it stands for❤️

This is a real gem of a cafe situated opposite New Brighton train station. After a good walk with a friend we popped in. The Sea Shanty did not disappoint, it was a lovely little find. Friendly staff, excellent selection of drinks and the most amazing cakes all of them homemade. I honestly couldn't decide which one to try, it was soon polished off. Definitely worth checking out, I'm already planning a return visit.

Absolutely amazing place! They've got a huge selection of both hot and cold drinks and it's right across the road from the train station. It's a lovely atmosphere with staff that are friendly and welcoming, it's got a great relaxing vibe with absolutely lovely cakes and food to eat and enjoy and its really well furnished and looks cosy inside! I'll be a regular of this little Independent I've got no doubt!

Independent coffee shop in New Brighton. Really friendly owners, great service and fab coffee. Also does vegan cakes. You'll find it just a little way up the hill, opposite the railway station. Leave the big chain coffee shops behind and support a great, local, independent business. Now I've discovered it that's what I will be doing.

Dropped in for coffee. Lovely atmosphere and surroundings which were very clean. Lots of info on the notice board. Loved the envelopes by the window stools with messages inside. Sanitize hands after looking at them. lovely items on sale too. Will definitely be back.

Brilliant welcome as always but alas now back to takeaway only. Nothing changes with the coffee and cakes - all as good as ever . Its a shame we are now into Winter as people wont loiter outside so it is a great place to stop off after a decent walk in the area along the promenade or through the parks or even getting the train- just opposite - back home. Essential visiting when in the area - great people.

Great to visit now nearly back to normal opening. The usual superb welcome even though we are not there daily or weekly. Always remembered and that means a lot to customers. Nice to sit inside again and drink great coffee and eat the brilliant cakes on offer - diet through the window !! Really love visiting here when in New Brighton. Brilliant

Visited for coffee and cake with friends. I only live around the corner but it was my first time in there. Pleasantly surprised. Such a nice relaxed vibe, friendly staff and good coffee.

really good now they seem to be open as near normal. Lovely sitting outside even though it is just on a pavement - there is something nice about it especailly as the sun shines on you. As always great staff / owners, good coffee and of course super cakes which am sure are fattening !!! Tastes all great and so nice to see their happy smiling faces.

Surprised to ask for a white coffee and be told that they have never heard of a white coffee...did I mean a latte or a cappuccino?? When I explained I wanted black coffee with milk I got a blank expression and asked.. is this something you make at home??? My Wife had to ask for an Americano with cold milk the penny then dropped. Nice coffee but too much hard work and tiffin was distinctly average at best!!

Brilliant - at last one of our favourite coffee shops open - but just for take home at the moment but at least it is a start. Very well layed out at the front door. A really good selection of cakes and of course excellent coffee. We will get inside one day !!!What makes "The Sea Shanty" brilliant is the staff / owners. They really couldnt be nicer. Always remembered even after the first visit and a good sensible simple conversation. They really know the art of customer satisfaction. Love it.

Whenever I catch up with friends I always suggest to come to the sea shanty, such a chilled and welcoming atmosphere and a bohemian outdoor sitting area..what is there not to love. Plus great coffee, macca lattes and always a range of the tastiest homemade cakes-including gluten free and vegan ones. Personal fave are the chocolate truffles. Looking forward to when the Sea Shanty is back open!

Is this the best coffee house in New Brighton, the simple answer is YES!!! Adam has put a lot of time and effort into making this place the centre of the community and the coffee and cake are pretty good too. If you are vegan, gluten free then this is the place for you.

Before our country went into lockdown in a bid to halt the coronavirus my twin brother Stephen and I had a day out in New Brighton, we had jumped the train down to this seaside resort and on exiting New Brighton Railway Station we headed to this cafe opposite the train station and what a great find.Walking in and I knew I would enjoy my visit here,a light and airy interior, great decor and furnishings, a proper seaside look to it,there's also some great paintings of film stars adorning the walls,all with a nautical theme..We were greeted warmly by a very pleasant member of staff, we opted to have a flat white coffee each,coffee was beautifully presented ,from the first sip you can tell they use quality ingredients in their coffee and take great pride in the coffee they serve.While sipping our coffee's the staff made us so welcomed in their cafe, made our visit really good. We both really enjoyed our coffee's in here and although our visit was only fleeting for a first time visit we were totally impressed with this cafe.The Sea Shanty is easy to locate on Atherton Street, opposite the New Brighton Railway Station. A great cafe ,well worth a visit if your in the area.

Easily the best coffee in New Brighton and some may even argue the Wirral. The cakes are to die for as well as the warm welcome for those that visit, adults, kids and dogs alike. As well as the great coffee, food and service they run a variety of local community events from live music, spoken word, open water swimming and craft sessions. Been meaning to try The Sea Shanty for ages and yesterday we finally made it. We didn't know that every Friday between 12 and 2pm there is live music. When we arrived there was a guitarist playing called Chris (unfortunately I can't remember his surname) which made for a very enjoyable experience. The coffee and home made cakes are very special and we had a really enjoyable time. The staff are exceptionally friendly too.Cant recommended enough.

Really nice place not all fancy - more lived in! Comfortable and loads to look at - plenty to read and handle and look at to while away the time. Some nice customers who were all chatty and smiling - great start. Good coffee - I like my coffee and this was very decent. Plenty to nibble even tho I am on a diet - oh it all looked so nice. Lastly the guy who I assume is the owner? was an absolute gem. Really happy really lively - like that, and so friendly.The location is excellent right opposite the railway station (sorry showing my age - translate to train station - yuk !)

Still the best local cup of coffee you can get, and if you fancy a slice of homemade cake then there are some delicious choices.

Frequent visitor to this lovely friendly cafe in New Brighton - literally opposite the station. There are a wide variety of drinks available and gorgeous home made cakes.The atmosphere is chilled, relaxed and friendly ... a nice chatty place where everyone is treated like a friend BUT if you are working or want a bit of quiet time then that is respected as well.

Really excellent coffee that I'm in the middle of drinking. Polite service and eclectic clientele.

Although this small café is directly opposite the railway station, there is always an air of calmness there.The drinks are no expensive and there is an eclectic collection of local memorabilia and the work of local artists is on display. Sometimes they have live music, but this is acoustic and at low volume so it doesn't interfere with conversation.Well worth a visit, and once you've found it you'll almost certainly return. I do.

What a great place! A good selection of teas, great tasting coffees, and the hot chocolate is amazing. Have visited several times now and have never been disappointed with my drinks or the delicious home made cakes, which I can't resist. I would definitely recommend.

Great coffee, lovely atmosphere and friendly staff, I had a slice of tiffin that was a bit mushy, not a very nice texture to eat. Hopefully next time it’ll be better and I’ll come back and change to 5 stats!

This was our first visit, we had a drink after having our breakfast across the road. They only do drinks, coffee, tea , soft etc and homemade cake. The BOSS had a cappuccino I had an Earl Grey tea, bought two slices of vegan pina colada cake to go. It is only fairly small but has a nice bright colourful decor, lots of plants and paintings. It has live music at certain times plus other gatherings. Modern , quirky, nice cafe.

I visited the Sea Shanty today and had possibly the best coffee I have ever tasted! Christmas capacino with fresh grated orange and sprinkled dark chocolate! Absolutely unreal
