Lovely cafe,old school type.Proper scouse community cafe.They do a boss roast dinner.If you are in the area and want local Scouse people,this is the place to go.

Found this little gem after asking locals where to get a breakfast! On a busy main road however couldn’t have been more surprised at the reception and welcome we received ! Food was lovely , nice clean breakfast , good produce used , and price was fair for the amount of food !

Had breakfast here after being recommended by the hotel, great selection of food, great prices, food was good and piping hot, but the lady serving was phenomenal, cheery and friendly, great customer service! Definitely add this place to your list if you’re visiting!

Fantastic food at a low price with great service and even better conversation. Will definitely be coming every Sunday from now on.

I’m one of these guys that don’t leave reviews but when an experience is outstanding then I feel the staff at this hidden gem deserves it! Clean, friendly staff & tasty food says everything!

Order was wrong twice then when I challenged the staff and asked for a refund they were rude. When the food finally arrived, it was mediocre and honestly bad quality for money.

Previously had a breakfast which was great and included a cup of tea for £6. Also had a burger chips, salad and a drink for £7. Very filling. Excellent chips!

I love going the Scranery for a midweek breakfast or call in for a Sunday roast. The food is delicious and it's such a friendly place to eat.

Asked for a bacon barm, it was dry and the bacon was stone cold, the cup of tea was ok.

I came in today with my partner, we ordered two breakfasts and they were amazing i must add, we got chatting to the lady owner and a gentleman customer, they asked why we were down and told them it was my 40th birthday and we had come for the match on the saturday, as i went up to pay i was informed the gentleman had paid....THIS IS MEARLY TO SAY THANK YOU SO MUCH SIR

Service a little slow, but the quality of food was spot on, worth the wait.

The staff are very friendly and helpful. The food is very reasonable priced. Seeing that Liverpool is in lockdown, Scranary is open evrry Sundays and take hygiene serious due to Corona 19. I would really recommend to the public in Liverpool to have a visit.

One of the cleanest and most pleasant places to have a decent breakfast in this area lmo. Staff are very welcoming,and the food is always served hot,which you don't always get in some other eateries.👍

The barms are always toasted here, if you asked for them not toasted you would of got them like that and by the way it is barms not bars and how rude is it to swear at the staff

11 July 2020. I must have been fheir first customer of the day as I feel I had yesterday's sausages 🙄 Just wanted a sausage barm. Sausages were pink in the middle, burnt on the outside. Tasted like chalk. Won't be returning. First and last time experience.

Very nice place. Excellent service, good food and came with a mug of coffee and possibility of another with the same order.

The breakfasts here are delicious. All freshly made and piping hot.

Had a nice lunch, it's clean, price is alright, the vibe was alright too.

Love this place been living in the area for nearly 4 years now always been going to this cafe. Since Marie and Gary have taken over the standard of food and service has gone up. They 5 Star hygiene rating where previous owner only managed a 4. Food is value for money and their Sunday roasts are to die for. Best cafe in anfield and Liverpool

Used this places a good few times and always been happy and tipped well,,today was a joke I waited 25 mins for my order which had been forgot,by the time it came toast was hard and coffees cold,specifically asked for no tomatoes and guess what i got tomatoesl,when I said I can't eat tomatoes all I got was a heavy sigh,didn't even attempt to eat it ,walked out and will never use the place again,so yes still hungry and out of pocket and annoyed ,,a treat for fathers day ruined

Cracking cafe.... Belly buster breakfast is a must. Go 2 or 3 times a week.... Sunday dinner is worth trying out as well.

Have been using this establishment since moving to Liverpool and had tried several others ,I found this was excellent value for money with very friendly staff ,the food has always been to a high standard and even to the point of having a takeaway Sunday roast ,perfection is always given and device is great

Just what the area needed.Cafe's have come and gone in this vicinity of Anfield,but this well run establishment,going by the quality of the food and service is here for the long haul.Been on a handful of occasions,and have always left more than sufficiently satisfied.What hits home when inside,is the warmth and consideration of the staff towards their clientele.You actually feel valued,not just another conveyor belt consumer.Can highly recommend The Scrannery,for those who haven't been,don't be put off by the Liverpudlian slang for food as it's title,it's quite tiny inside,but huge in heart.

The staff are really friendly and can have a laugh with. The cafe is really clean. The prices for the food is good vaule for money. The size of the portions are large ie a roast dinner 4 roast potatoes 2 Yorkshire puddings 2 lots of meats and veg. The food is really nice

The cafe has been under new ownership by a very nice family. Nothing bad to say I can recomend this cafe 100%. The food is good and the staff friendly, no request seems to be too much I have even had meals made for me given enough warning. The cafe is better than some local cafes and actually keep to their advertised opening times, 10 minute walk to Anfield stadium. Good luck to the owner in her venture a friendly neighbourhood cafe

Not great since takeover. Always small portions, high prices and seem to make up the prices off he tops of their heads. Multiple people telling me they’ve paid different prices for the same thing. Go to the empress just down Townsend, much better.

Spotlessly clean and freshly cooked breakfast

I’ve frequented the Scranary on a few occasions now living in the area and on each occasion it has been very satisfactory. The cafe is run by efficient local staff and the menu is focussed enough to be varied but also inspires confidence that the food is fresh. The Scranary does a wide range of breakfast items but also caters to a more general meal selection later in the day. The atmosphere is fine, it’s a mix of locals, families and school mums having dropped off little uns prior to their visit. First and foremost it is clean and the food is very satisfactory, good portions and well priced. The place is in a rough area, I can say that living there but what I would say is that if you are local then it’s a great place for a spot of breakfast but if you are visiting the nearby sports centre or football clubs then it’s a good place to start your day.

Visited for brunch after an overnight stay in Liverpool, the place is spotlessly clean, friendly staff and their food is excellent. Will definitely be visiting again on my next visit to Liverpool

I loved the decor in this cafe. It's a quiet spot with friendly staff and fast service. I had tasty a vegetarian breakfast at a decent price. There were newspapers and books on a shelf that could be read by customers. And a few toys for children to play with. The staff were friendly and knew some of the local regulars. Younger customers were offered free sweets as they were leaving. It was a really relaxed atmosphere and I felt at home. I'll definitely return.

Best place in Liverpool, manager toni is the most kindest n lovely woman ive met....And Michelle, anna, Yvonne and Rachel are brilliant, and they all give great hugs btw 💕🤗 love them xx

Great place to have a lunch, very kids friendly!

The food served at the Scranery is very good , cooked to perfection . The staff are friendly and very well mannered , they made us feel very much at home . We went for Sunday lunch it was delicious , a free desert is included in the price of Sunday lunch . If you decide to eat at the Scranery you'll not be disappointed . Special mention to Shelly , Yvonne and Hannah , these girls work very hard to make sure the customers enjoy their meals in this comfortable , bright and spotlessly clean environment . Also the cafe is child friendly . Can't wait to go back someday !

The first impression is of clenlieness the food is excellent,and the meals substantial the meal of the day is usually a bargain as is the sunday roast. There is a regular local clientelle. The four girls working there give excellent service and the cafe is child friendly, there are even pens paper and crayons available and there is a cork board where the staff will hang the children pictures, quirky, the owner is always coming up with improvements and new ideas worth a visit.

Really nice cafe, funky and cute decor. Nice staff. I usually go for breakfast, relaxed and friendly atmosphere.

I have visited the scrannery a couple of times and have found it to be a pleasure each time and the food is great, fried eggs cooked to perfection, bacon just the way I like it too. The staff are great and bend over backwards for all their customers. This is now my regular weekend breakfast spot.

1st class service, food brilliant, just what you need to top up your belly, definitely go back again

Tell ya what I usually love taking the kids the cafe by ours for dinner every now and then, the staff that are usually there are lovely always have a laugh and play with the kids an give compliments dead friendly but after the staff who were in today I don't think I'll ever be going back! First of all they gave us someone else's order then they forgot something of mine... Then after me and the kids almost finished my Nan's order finally came out which wasn't what she asked for, she asked for ham salad sandwich an said it twice this woman had some prawn thing an tried saying snottily I repeated prawn to you 3 times (she didn't I was stood there to)! We then had to ask for this kids drinks which they didn't give, when I went to get the kids a cake the woman got fed up told the other woman to sort the till out and walked off this woman then asks me for money to which I replied I've just given her a 5er so she goes oh dya know what! An shouts the other back who says the 5er is in the till soi they give me my change then sitting back down one comes over with a gob on the baby throws a small piece of toast I pick it up and say no the woman will tell u off (as ya do joking) she then gives me the dirtyest look and walks off saying oh my god even me nan was laughing at the face she gave me! Then when leaving both women come over an after me and nan clearing up as much as possible they carry on starting an snarling me which again me nan witnessed! Safe to say I will not be going back which is a shame cos the usual staff are lovely these 2 women have lost them some customers!!!

The first thing that struck me when I walked in here was how clean it is and the 2 Women smiling behind the Counter. Food was Hot and brought to the Table the Women were lovely little laugh and joke with them. Its cheap. We will be back.

I have visited here on a number of occasions since it opened,and have always found the food,cleanliness and pleasant attitude of the staff a big plus. Ideal for locals, or football fans on matchdays-the food is great value.

I had heard of the Scranary through the local grapevine and thought I would give it a go this week. I went in and yes, it is clean, quirky and well set out so first impressions were good. I opted for the Big Breakfast which came with tea and toast too.

We've now been twice to this gem of a cafe, and both times been 100% happy with food quality, portions, service and choice. It's really handy for pre Anfiekd match meals, does superb Sunday roasts, greatbreakfasts, and cakes and drinks of top quality. Having tried many cafes over many years, this is the best of all newcomers. Really hope they succeed. It's next to the bus stop on Townsend/Priory, so perfectly placed.
